Walking down the first floor corridor, you hear the faint sounds of a song which gradually gets louder until you reach the History of Magic classroom. Not only does the music seem to be coming from the room, but you are also greeted with a large sign hanging outside the door.
Quote:
Make an Entrance
Professor Glendower does not seem to be anywhere in sight once you come inside, but feel free to take a seat in one of the desk-arm chairs arranged in a semi-circle around the perimeter of the more casual classroom. Class should begin soon!

Simon followed the faint sounds of a familiar tune to his next classroom. HE KNEW THAT SONG! It was an old song but he couldn't place the name of it. History of Magic. He stopped in his tracks when he saw the sign and spent a couple minutes studying the sign. 'Make an Entrance?' What did that mean? Did he have to go in there dancing or something? Merlin, he hoped not.
As he stared at the sign, he stepped in time to the beat. It was so catchy and it just made him feel as if he wanted to dance. Taking one look around him, he decided to open the door to the History of Magic classroom and enter dancing along to the beat of the song for the bit. He felt like a complete idiot for a couple of seconds as he did this, but soon enough, he started not to care anymore. He threw his arms into the air just let go of all his worried for once.
Then a thought passed through his mind. Where was the Professor? He peeked around the classroom. He became quite red in his cheeks. "Hello?" he said before taking his seat in one of the desk-arm chairs. He was the first one here so he pulled his notebook out of his bag and began writing down some notes.

Cris found his way to the History of Magic classroom, just by following his ears. The sound of a familiar song reached his ears as he entered the first floor corridor and he knew that there would be only one class that would have music that came from another era.
Lip syncing the words to the song, and bouncing in time to the song, he walked into the classroom passing by a large sign hanging outside the door that said Make An Entrance.
Grinning, he did just that. He danced all the way into the classroom, mixing hip hop moves with a style all his own. When he reached one of the deck-arm chairs provided, he did a 360 degree twirl before sitting down.
Cris was so immersed in his dancing that he didn't notice the Professor wasn't present until now. He looked around just to make sure he hadn't danced right past him. Nope...no one here except a Slytherin and him. "Hello, " he greeted the young Slytherin with a smile and a nod. Then he pulled out his History of Magic textbook and prepared for the lesson proper.

That song was familiar. Very...HAPPY! Adi grinned. That song often reminded the boy of himself. He was always happy. Hehe. Following the music, he was surprised to see it lead right to where he was headed- the History of Magic classroom.
He eyed the sign. Right. He was just going to calmly enter the classroom. He wasn't going to do anything that made him look ridiculous. Just a nice, calm and cool entry. Okay, fine maybe he did do a couple of steps in time with the music but that was it. Adi looked around, expecting to see the Professor but he only saw a Slytherin guy and Cris. "Hey, there,'' he said tot he SLytherin as he made his way over to one of the chairs. "Hi, Cris!''

Was that her theme song playing? Okay, Lux didn't really have a theme song, but Happy really did describe her well since she was almost always HAPPY.
Singing along to the music, Lux entered the room while doing a little dance. She could totally groove along to music in every lesson. Spotting Adi, she gave him a friendly wave before plopping down in one of the seats. Where was the Professor?
As Kace was making his way to the History of Magic classroom, he heard a song that was familiar. He tapped his foot and made him want to dance. As he smiled and walked into the classroom, he noticed the teacher wasn't there. He looked around and noticed a few people made it here. He seemed a bit early. He saw Adi and sat next to him. "Hey Adi! Do you know where the professor is?" he greeted his friend. He had not talked to him in a while.
Then he saw Lux, he smiled and waved to her. "Hey Lux!! "
As Nathan walked down the corridor towards the classroom, he couldn't help but start humming the AMAZING song being played. It was a great song, always cheering nearly everyone up, and extremely annoying the rest of the poor, unfortunate souls who didn't have a taste in music.
He walked into the classroom with a smile on his face and unconsciously whistling to the tune. He nodded to everyone else already in the classroom, gaving them a wave as he didn't really know anyone. He took a seat and pulled out his textbook and items for writing notes.
Better to be prepared so he could enjoy the song more

Dec heard the song from down the corridor and wasn't surprised to find it was the classroom he was heading into anyways. Stopping at the door, he read the sign out loud to himself, "Make an Entrance..." Did the professor expect him to dance his way in?? Or announce that the devilishly handsome, Declan Hazelwood, had arrived? 'Cos, honestly, didn't everyone already know that? No need to express it. He was trying to be humble for Merlin's sake!
Alright...should he pop, lock, and drop inside, moonwalk in, do the Carlton, or how about...just walk in? YES. Walking in normally is just fine. He had natural born swagger anyways.

LAST time Maddie had made an entrance into a class, it had been with DIMA and someone's TROUSERS had been set on FIRE so no, no big attention grabbing entrance for HER. She DID bob her head involuntarily to the catchy beat of the song playing and quietly took up a seat next to the boy she'd once worked with in potions. Older guy, he was. YO.

There was MUSIC playing somewhere here? Who was hosting a party? And, more importantly, why hadn't he been invited, eh? He was slightly disappointed with how happy this song sounded but he could deal with that. He just wanted to find the place where this was coming from. Grayson stopped in his tracks to listen out for it to see where it was coming from. And then he took another couple of steps. And then he stopped again and then took some more steps until he found himself right..........
........... outside..............
................... the door of the History of Magic classroom.
Right then. They were either having a party or he was going to be disappointed for the duration of the lesson. And, whichever it was, he was required to make some sort of entrance? What in the name of merlin? That was so freaking weird. And it sounded a lot like something the loonies of the world did. His presence was enough of an entrance, thank you. What more did he need to do?
Strut. The answer was strut. That's exactly what he was going to do. Struttin his way inside.
And then he went and sat down next to some eager beaver (Simon) who was taking all the notes. Already. When, looking around, there was no professor here. Was he FEELING okay?!

Simon glanced up from his notes when he saw more students enter here. He gave a friendly smile and a wave to the two Hufflepuff boys who had said hi (Cris and Adi). "Hey there! " he said. Being friendly was good.
Then another Slytherin sat next to him. Was this the Whitty that Cutty had been speaking about? Simon pursed his lips. He thought that Cutty had pointed him out to him one time. "Hey! Excited for the class? I'm Simon." Introductions were good. Yay!
Nigel use to enjoy History of Magic. It was a good class for naps and weird/awesome professors. Like the shoe guy and Vinteren. If that is how it said. He even remember one class when he was little, like that trip to Atlantis or wherever. Getting nostalgic in your seventh year sucked.
NO............NOOO
Not this song. It was horrible. The same chorus over and over and over and OVER AGAIN.
"Make an Entrance"
Did he have too. He was tall and had amazing hair. Wasn't that enough?
He was not going to take his shirt off or anything. This was not the common room....So he walked in and took a seat behind Maddie.
There, Entrance Made.

The song was talking about being HAPPY, but Caleb was anything BUT happy. It was History of Magic. How on Earth could he possibly get excited about this class?? Still, it was KIND of hard not to smile as he walked in and grabbed a seat near the front. He wanted to see what this new professor lady had in store for them up close and personal.
Plus, if she was easy on the eyes, that was a plus, yeah? hehe.

Jasmine neared the History of Magic classroom and heard music coming from that direction. She was familiar with the song and that was one catchy tune. The music got louder as she reached the door. There was a sign on the door saying "Make an Entrance". Normally, Jasmine did not need much encouragement to perform.......but here in her new class with new students in her new school........the enthusiasm was lacking.
Not wanting to be the one party pooper in the class, Jasmine entered the room bopping and snapping her fingers to the music. She threw in a little spin as she reached an empty desk and sat down. Looking around, Jasmine did not see any sign of the Professor. She did see some familiar faces and waved at Cris, Adi and Lux. Putting her belongings down, Jasmine sat back and enjoyed the music.

Kyroh was almost scared that he would be late to History of Magic, and the music coming from the classroom didn't help matters. Running down the hall the freckled boy slowed down enough to read the sign. With the song playing in the background it kind of made him want to dance in (even if he didn't really recognize it) but that was what everyone would do!
Instead Kyroh threw his back into the classroom and took a few steps back. Then running forward he performed what he had been practicing for a while now, a near PERFECT front flip.
Near perfect cause he sorta fell at the end. Sorta. On his butt. Maybe. ENTRANCE! Happily grabbing his bag nearby Kyroh made his way to the front and took a seat beside a Slytherin guy with sort of long crazy hair. Looking around the classroom Kyroh gave Maddie a wave.

History of Magic time, and she was actually kind of early, which was nice for a change. As she was walking along the corridor she noticed a song that was popular playing. This was the first time that she had heard music here, and thought maybe wizards didn't do the whole music thing.
As she walked into the classroom she was singing and moving her body in tune of the music. It was then that she noticed the sign... heh, guess you didn't have to tell AJ to make an entrance. Where was the professor anyways? AJ noticed a few familiar faces. "Hey Adi, Chris and Maddie." She took a seat towards the middle.
History of Magic. Cinna really didn't understand why most people didn't like this subject of study. It wasn't the worst or the hardest. Maybe to some people.
As she made her way down the first floor corridor she heard music. Yes, music? She totally knew that song too. It wasn't until she got closer to the classroom that she realized that was where the music was coming from.
Once she got to the classroom door she noticed a sign. Make an entrance She blinked for a moment and thought about what she was going to do for this entrance. Guessing with the song she figured that most of everyone probably came in singing and/or dancing.
She took a few steps back from the door. With a little run off she flipped, twirled and cartwheeled her way in to the classroom. Landing perfectly on the floor. She noticed no professor. What was the point of all of that if the professor wasn't even there. Maybe she was hiding somewhere adults could do that apparently.
So she when on to find a seat. On her way to sit down she seen Grayson she waved at him and said "Hey Grayson." Then she spotted Lux and Kace she smiled and waved at them and went over to sit with them "Hey, guys." She said as she sit down.

Agatha could hear the song as she walked through the first floor corridor and was surprised to see that the music was coming from INSIDE the History of Magic classroom. Hm. Probably one of her classmates was going mental and decided to wreak havoc. The poor professor, would have to deal with that on the first day already.
Agatha would hate to be a teacher.
She stopped in front of the door and read the MASSIVE sign. Make an entrance. Right, the kid who had the music going on definitely put that up as well. Hadn't the professor noticed it yet?
The Slytherin entered the room and looked around to see what the look on the professor's face was, but there was no professor around. No wonder all this craziness was going on. Though everybody was sitting down. Huh. Odd. Agatha quickly scanned the room and saw Nigel. No, thanks, she wasn't sitting next to him again. Strange Ravenclaw. The girl then went to take a seat near a Slytherin kid she still didn't know (Nathan). "Hello. I'm Agatha." She said shortly and stared at him, waiting for an introduction.

Zander's eyes grew louder as he approached the classroom.
Oh no.
Was that.... MUSIC? Coming from inside the classroom? What? But the weirdness didn't stop there. Because uh.... Make an entrance!? What was that supposed to mean... Well first off Zander certainly did NOT want to make an entrance. He just wanted to quickly find a seat and go unnoticed, but this whole set up was making that really difficult....
So yeah, how exactly are they making an entrance? Just then, Zander was able to catch a girl (Cinnamon) WHO FREAKING CARTWHEELED into the room!? Uh... There's no way he'd be able to make much of an entrance after that one. So instead of going all out like that girl did... He opted for a more, do-able approach. He snapped his fingers to the beat as he walked through.
There. What. An. Entrance.

Bay reached the door for his history of magic lesson and he could totally hear music and on the door read a sign that said "make an entrance" hmmm what was he supposed to do.. but taking a cue from the music he opened the door and started to shimmy into the class wiggling his arms and legs and pretty much his whole body..
his eyes were closed of course and he managed to open them when he had his hands over his arms… and he was shocked to see a bunch of people already in the room.. hanging his head he spotted Lux and the gang… "hey" he said embarrassedly.

Hazel hummed along to the music as she walked towards the History of Magic classroom. She saw the sign on the door. Make an entrance. Not really her thing to do, but who cares? Maybe it would give her extra credit. She opened the door and began dancing her way down to an empty seat. Yes, that would be good enough for now. Just to make it a little better, she began to sing the song as well. Loudly. She giggled and hoped nobody was listening. But what was wrong with singing and dancing in class? She giggled some more. She looked around for any of her friends. She wondered what crazy entrances they could do.

Penelope followed the sound of the music to the history of magic classroom. The music was kind of annoying Penelope because she had heard the song way too many times. She hoped that the music would not be playing throughout the whole lesson. Noticing the sign on the door, Penelope decided not to make a big entrance, and quietly entered the room.

History of Magic? Ew.
Ethan made a face as he saw the notice on their notice board. History is boring, and the young Slytherin remembered what it is like back in his old school. Maybe it’ll be different in Hogwarts? Scratching his head, he got his stuff inside his satchel and grabbed his skateboard. Skating towards the classroom seemed to be a good idea because one: he wasn’t too interested in this subject, and maybe skateboarding might help him cheer up, and two: still too much snow outside, therefore he can’t use his toy during his free time.
Skate. Skate. Skate.
Halfway through, Ethan slowed down as he tilted his head upon hearing beats. History of Magic…have, music? This made the third year grin like an idiot. Heeeey. Maybe it’s not so bad after all. Bopping his head with the beat, he collected his skateboard and jammed it inside his satchel and wiggle!danced his way towards the door that said…Make an Entrance. Heh. Hehehehehe! And ohh…OOOH. He knows this song! Fixing his clothes and brushing his hair…he then opened the door and busted some serious groove.
“Because I’m happy! Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof!” he sang, clapped, and danced as he made his way towards Simon. Hey, hi, buddy! Thanks for the notice about this class, yeah? Now who’s next? “Because I’m happy! Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth!” he continued his dance!clap by wiggling towards Cris. Maaaaaaan this is fun! “Because I’m happy! Clap along if you know what happiness is to you!” he moved towards where Adi and Lux were and sang, clapped and dance for them before moving to…hmm. “Because I’m happy! Clap along if you feel like that’s what you wanna do!” he said pointing at Coop, Kyroh, Grayson, Nigel, Agatha, Jasmine, AJ, and Zander.
MERLIN.
Ethan gave them all a salute and a quick wave, before settling down beside Simon. Hehehehe. Now THAT is how you make an entrance. Mhm. Definitely now in a better mood, the Slytherin prepped his things on his armchair while his head was still bopping to the music. Please don’t let the music stop?

Professor Glendower had been waiting just outside the doorway - out of the way of any entering students and completely disillusioned. Not only did she want to see each and every one of her students' unique entrances, but she wanted to make her own entrance too, for all of her eager little learners! And what creative entrances they all had! Whether they were low-key, simply walking in, or more elaborate, each one was tailored to that person and she loved them all. She could hardly keep from clapping at the cartwheels and flips, though.. wow! But she had to keep quiet for now.
Once it was about time for class to start and the song was nearing an end, Nessa took off the disillusionment spell and tap danced her way into the room, turning a few times, and stopping at the center of the room just as the music did, with a flourishy wave of her arms. "WELCOME To History of Maaagic!" she beamed. "I'm so happy to have you all here today! And wonderful entrances, everyone.. no matter how you chose to interpret the instructions. A memorable entrance engages your audience, but no matter what you do, it's important that you put yourself into it!" And that's what made each of them unique. She was so pleased with them all that she gave them her own round of applause. "I do have to say that I was rather impressed with a few extra-special ones though." They knew who they were.
And with all that aside.. "Let's get started!" Nessa clasped her hands together and looked out with a hint of excitement at the sea of faces in front of her. "I feel that the best way to learn about history is to put yourself there - at the scene of the events, so to speak. Instead of simply memorizing names and dates, you can really feel what it was like for events to have happened, and that often aids in retaining it to memory." Not to mention make it more fun!
"But before we get into all of that, let's narrow it down to just one specific event in history." She already had something in mind, but she wanted to see what they knew first. "Can anyone name a specific event in history where Muggles were witness to something magical? Or provide any details about it?" Something against the Secrecy Statute, no? And this would come in handy later. "You can use your books for this part."

There was some sort of party happening in the History of Magic classroom, Mo noted as he approached and heard music and clapping and noiseeeee. Lots of noise. Merlin, they were all going to have their heads handed over to them on a platter at this rate. Not that he cared, 'cause that was a prefect's dilemma, right?
But then he spotted the sign, and the noise made sense. Make an entrance. Interesting choice of words. It had the meaning colloquially of 'make people notice when you enter the room', but the words at their most literal simply said he should enter the classroom. Create his entering of the room. Make an entrance.
Mo did so, slipping into a seat near the ickle Claws and carefully stowing his satchel under his seat. If it was a real party, there would be better snacks.
