Norah scratched her nose with the back of her quill as she rifled through the pages of the book and stopped somewhere in the middle. Hmmmm. What next? A grin spread slowly across her face as she dipped the quill in the golden ink and drew a tree branch sticking out from the side of the page. Exchanging her quill for a colored pencil, she drew pink leaves along the edge of the branch, some of them shaped like hearts because why not? She used her own sparkly ink this time, adding thin lines down from the branch, and a blobby seat at the end for a swing. Setting her quill down again, she looked sideways at it and smiled even wider as she went for at bright red pencil. A cat! A cat could be on the swing 'cause cats were totally awesome. And it could be red because red was a fun color, except when it meant tomatoes because those were gross. Once the cat was finished, although its proportioned were vaguely horrendous, she used the gold ink to draw long whiskers coming out of it's face. When she moved her hand away, she smudged one of the whiskers accidentally, her eyebrows creeping together at the sight of the golden blob now coming out of the cat's face. Er. What could that be. Norah squinted it at it. A fish! It could be a fish. A gold fish, geddit? It was just coming out of the cat's face for...reasons. She added a set of fins to the blob. Ta da!

She picked up her wand and cast "Animatae!" on the swing, beaming once more as it went back and forth, back and forth on the page. Good thing it wasn't a real cat, 'cause those didn't really like swings probably. Not that she would KNOW 'cause SOMEBODY (cough MUM cough) wouldn't let her have one. Norah eyed an empty spot on the page and then picked up a purple pencil to add in a butterfly. With fancy pants golden spots for shiny reasons. She cast "Animatae" again, on the butterfly this time, and nodded to herself as it began to fly from corner to corner on the page. Aaaaallll done with this page!

The Hufflepuff glanced up at Professor Glendower before turning the page. Did they have time for more drawing? Pretty please?

Well, even if those ancient people don’t know how to read and write, but still owned a prized manuscript, then they can still be classified as smart. Why? Gold and silver are the perfect investments, because their value goes higher in a matter of years. He was sure that Cutty will agree with his theory. Yup.

Now onto the drawing stuff. Ethan cleared his desk with the unnecessary materials, and placed the other supplies on the floor. He already knew what he wanted on one of the pages, therefore he needed all the space on his table so he could get started with his illustration. He drew a silhouette of a man in trench coat and deer-stalking hat, with a magnifying glass on one hand. The figure was in a slouched position, looking for clues. He then added borders that consist of geometric patterns that are intertwined, to give his illustration a formal look. He then coloured the image based on how it was coloured in one of his books. For the final touch, he painted the details with some gold ink to make it stand out

Satisfied with his work, Ethan got his wand and imagined the man on his book cover to be walking endlessly. With that image locked in his mind, he traced his wand around the image and said the incantation, “Animatae”.

Ooh. Fancy!



...oh? Ethan looked up as soon as he was done with his first drawing. Oh hey, it's that new kid he met in Divination class! Hello! Hi! "'Course. Here you go, mate." Ethan passed his bottle of gold ink to Jackson and peeked at his work. "Hey...is that me?!" the Slytherin leaned in closer and grinned at Jackson's work. "Noice!" Thumbs up.

The Slytherin refocused himself and doodled on another blank page. He wants to get another drawing done before their class ends though...

His book assembled, Ben figured he was ready to move onto illustrating the pages liked Professor Glendower was instructing them. There were so many, the sixth year wasn't sure what he could do on all of them, or at least enough of them to make sure they didn't look boring. The only thing he could think of drawing was dragons...his people were often rubbish so it seemed sad to try an include them in something that was supposed to be compared with such beauty as they had seen.

Besides at this point he was feeling alone. Who would he actually want to draw?

Ben started out by drawing a deep red dragon flying up above the upper left corner of the first page. It seemed as good a place to start. He colored it in, adding some faint ground and vines on the bottom of the page which he continued onto the next to link them. Here he put a lion in the lower right hand corner of the page. The Gryffindor figured the drawn creature would be an awesome place to use some gold...if he managed to get ahold of some of the metalic ink.

He continued on with his drawings; a mixture of curly green vines and the occasional flower and a couple more dragons of various breeds. Soon enough he had most of the pages finished and faced the last blank page. Here Ben paused in his work to think of how he wanted to finish it off, finally drawing a cave in the upper right hand corner and a black Nightfury in the lower left hand corner. The last of his species and alone...like him...it was fitting.

While he precious little students worked, Nessa continued to walk around to make sure everyone was faring well and to answer any questions that might arise. But mostly she wanted to see the children's artwork because she loved creativity in any form most of all. She smiled at a few of the drawings as she weaved in and out of the rows of desks, soon seeing Hady's raised hand in the air.

Giving her an acknowledging, the professor headed her way to she what she needed. "Oh, of course you can!" she beamed as she glanced down at the girl's illustrated book. "This is your book, you may illustrate and animate what you like." As long as they still did the writing portion which she would assign later. "What a lovely snake!" She watched as the girl's drawing slithered on her page before checking on the rest of the class.

Ben had been so distracted in his work to try to avoid thinking about the bad stuff in his life that he hadn't registered that Professor Glendower had taken to walking around the classroom to look over everyone's progress. It wasn't until she complimented him on his drawings that he noticed her presence, half-jumping him his seat in the process before he could catch himself.

Good going Atreyu!

"Um...thank you Professor," he said quietly, hoping he didn't look all red from his reaction. Even though he was certainly embarished on the inside. "There's plenty of room..." the Gryffindor assured her as he absently showed her the various pages and how he had been sure to just do borders and corners so that most of the page was still useable for writing. Wasn't that what they were supposed to do? Wasn't that what he had seen in the manuscripts?

Cue the nerves that told him he might be doing something wrong.

Another bad feeling to top the rest.

Toby animated the snitches first, just because they were shiny and his attention was immediately drawn to them. He traced his wand around the wings, but then changed his mind and went around the entire thing. "Animatae." At first he'd been wanting to make the wings flutter, but now he'd cast it on the entire snitch, Toby could watch as it flew around the edges of the page, over and over.

He repeated the process a few more times, focusing on the bludgers, quaffle, and broom. "Animatae," Toby said, tracing around all the lines of the drawings in question. "Animatae."

It was super neat to watch, even if you weren't great at art and your drawings weren't so brilliant. Really cool stuff. Toby didn't think he'd ever quite get over how amazing magic could do. Bringing pictures to life still basically blew his mind.

He flipped through a few more pages, coming to a halt where he'd drawn his pets and other animals. Obviously, these were in need of animating.

"Animatae," Toby repeated, tracing his wand around the drawings of the animals. At first he started by only animating sections of the animals, like the tails or the heads or something, but soon Toby started to feel guilty. Like he was trapping the rest of the drawings into being stationary. He didn't like the feeling, so soon enough he'd totally animated every part of the drawings on the page. Again he watched as they traversed the parchment, feeling happy that they had that sort of... freedom. No more being trapped into standing static. He only wished he could make them more alive, like their real life counterparts. It would have been brilliant to see Finn again, come to life in the form of a moving drawing. This, though, was good.

Again, Toby flipped through his book, trying to decide what else, if anything, he should try to animate. Some of the cows which lined the borders, perhaps?

Sweet baby unicorns. Not only were they able to draw some super wicked sketches, but they were going to be able to animate them as well. AJ watched as the professor brought hers to life. So cool. Yup, a gold animated unicorn was happening. EEP. The lion was far from an artist, but she was sure that she could make something that resembled her beloved beauties.

Too bad they had to write in them. She would have been totally cool with just a picture book. Hopefully they didn't have to write a lot because just thinking about that made her hand cramp. Creating a children's book though... now THAT had potential.

Time to draw unicorns. The anticipation was killing her. Selecting a silvery looking colored pencil, AJ got straight to work. She bit down on her tongue while a tiny piece stuck out from her mouth. Full concentration was happening here.

First she drew a mommy and daddy unicorn. No parents could be complete without some unicorn babies. That went for all types of parents... including humans. Before she knew it unicorns were ALL over one page. Was there enough room for AJ on the page? Looking over her work she found a spot right in the middle of the page. AJ drew herself to the best of her ability and drew some hearts above her head.

So in love she was. AJ took a moment just to admire the beauty. No words were going on this page. Whoops.

Once Zhenya had assembled her book, Professor Glandower gave them more instructions for what to do next. Well, the book would be for them to write in later, so Zhenya didn't want to go drawing on all of the pages. Instead, she had a flip through the many pages of the book to have a think of what she would do and where. Perhaps she would have to have a 'this book belongs to' page, and then maybe a large drawing on the following page and, perhaps the last page. But the middle pages, perhaps she could do some fancy borders to get ready for when they wrote in them. Yes, that's what she would do.

She would add the silver and gold last, but firstly she picked out some colours for her title page. She chose a dark red, dark purple, dark blue and dark green and started to draw a 'Z' as fancy as she could. It was nice and large too, aligned on the left, but in the centre of the page. Once her fancy Z was complete, she drew 'henya' in smaller, but still pretty, writing next to the Z. Once her name was complete, she added 'This book belongs to' up the top, in much smaller writing, but very neat. Now she drew a fancy and detailed border around that page, framing her first page. With that done, she decided silver would be pretty on this page, and she added a bit of silver to the Z and the border.

Now she wanted to draw a photo. She decided she might like to draw one of her grandparents house in Russia. The house was a little wooden Dacha out near the lake. It was their primary home now that they were both retired, but there were enough bedrooms there for others if they wanted to come and stay. Everyone wanted to stay in the summer, to go swimming. So, that was what Zhenya drew, remembering all the details of the surrounding areas. And now she definitely wanted it all to move.

Zhenya watched Professor Glendower demonstrate the spell, then she picked up her wand and traced the Z on her title page, saying "Animatae," at the same time. The colours started to change, alternating between all the dark colours she had used to decorate the letter with. It was cool! Next she wanted to animate the lake neat the Dacha she had just drawn. So, she traced down the lake and said "Animatae," and once she was finished, she saw the water, and the waves she had drawn, gently flow down the page in a continuous stream.

LOLOLOL how freaking late was he?

Grayson must've been in his own land or whatever because one minute he'd been heading back to his seat and the next, the next couple of instructions were being given out. He hardly had time to fully comprehend whatever it was that Glendower had said about folding parchment. It was only when he sat back and looked around at what some of the others were doing that he realised what they were meant to be doing. Making books!

Truth be told, he had noooo idea what he was gonna use this for.

Shrug.

Taking hold of his first piece of parchment, Grayson folded it once and then twice and then placed it on a spot on the table. And this had to be done for all twenty? Sweet Merlin, save him now because this was gonna be a long and tedious process. One that was probably gonna require patience, something that he didn't have too much of. Shame.

A lot of folding took place but at long last, the Slytherin had a bunch of pieces of parchments folded up. Uh huh! Once he made sure that they were all stacked neatly together, he cast a simple, "Adhero!" to glue the end into the spine of the book. There. Done. What was next?

More folding, apparently.

Taking hold of the decorative papers, the boy folded them up as well. He then took one and glued half of it to the inside of the front cover and the other half to the front page. This activity was only making him certain that he was never gonna go into the book publishing business. First of all, it sounded more boring than listening to a lecture about goblin rights and secondly, the amount of work it involved was ridiculous. Just plain ridiculous.

Yeah, and the sticking of the decorative paper was done to the back cover as well. He wasn't stupid, after all.

He did almost miss the next couple of steps, though. Jeez, man.

And illustration? Grayson made a face as he glanced down at his makeshift book. Jeez, what was he meant to draw? Er. Something appropriate for a professor to see and something he wouldn't be embarrassed in Glendower seeing was high up there in the priority list. But that just made it all the more harder. MAN.

Finally deciding on dragons and lizards and potions bottles and Merlin knows what else, Grayson set about drawing some of his favourite items in various pages in the book. If they were gonna have to write in this, he'd rather write about something he actually liked. The only thing missing was a drawing of his face but there was no way he was artistically talented enough to be able to do his face justice.

Sad times, man.

Finally done with the drawings in different coloured inks and all, the bot grabbed hold of his wand again. He furrowed his eyebrows as he traced the drawing of a dragon -- a Chinese Fireball, at that -- and said, "Animatae!" The dragon seemed to roaaaaaaar to life as it spread out its wings and flew around the page. He cast the same charm on some of the other dragons as well and watched as they joined the first one in flight, each dodging each other and flying seemlessly. Man, how freaking cool was this?

Norah narrowed her eyes at all 21 pages of her book, only a few of them fully illustrated. This was going to take the next five hundred years to fill with drawings, even though Professor Glendower had said they needed to leave room for writing 'n stuff. Who wanted to do that when there could be sparkly drawings instead? Not her, that's who, but she didn't exactly have a choice so writing it was. Maybe Professor Glendower would let her come and use the art stuffs sometime! That'd be radical.

Making a mental note to ask her some time, the fourth year flipped back to the beginning-ish pages of the book and started on putting borders on the pieces of parchment she hadn't drawn on yet. Y'know, in case she actually had to do the whole writing thing. She lined the first one with little mice with golden tails and bright green whiskers. She wasn't entirely sure why she'd chosen mice, but watcha gonna do. Picking up her wand, the fourth year cast "Animatae!" on the mice and watched them scurry around the perimeter of the parchment before turning to the next page. Alrighty. FLOWER time. She used colored pencils in all the colors of the rainbow plus pink which WOULD have been in the rainbow if she was in charge to draw little flowers all the way around. plus a cactus and a little mushroom because those were fun too. There was nothing to animate yet, though, so obviously some animals were necessary too because every page was special and didn't deserve to be left boring and still. Norah drew in some shimmering golden bumble bees, and a little bunny rabbit wearing a sparkly bowtie just 'cause she hadn't used the sparkly ink on this page yet. She cast "Animatae" on the bees and the bunny, then flipped to the next page. POLKA DOT TIME.

They were making a book? Like of all the boring, lame type of things to do in one of the classes that was the least boring and lame. Normally. Someone should tell the professor that books were pretty lame... although decorating the books and making them move seemed pretty interesting.

Hm. Dot folded the paper as instructed and carefully fit it together. It was like sewing, in a way, the matching up of seams and then sticking them together. So when she used the "Adhero" spell to stick the pages together, it sort of felt like something she'd done before.

Not that she wanted to be a professional bookmaker or anything, but it wasn't all that bad.

This class was so much fun!! Could they do arts and crafts every lesson? Lux would never object to it because she got to be an artist and colour things in. Colouring was a lot of fun and she loved it.

What to draw first??

Lux was going to start with her and Bay because he was her love. Stick figures were her general go to, but for an illuminated manuscript she would try harder. Plus she wanted to make it look super pretty. Slowly and carefully she got to work. First she drew herself wearing a blue spring dress and then she added Bay so that he was holding her hand. A pretty gold border was drawn to add an even more elegant effect; it was made up of connected leaves because she thought it was fancy.

The next few pages consisted of more leaf borders because they would have writing on them. Turning to the fourth (or was it fifth?) page, Lux decided to draw a mermaid in the top left corner. Obviously this was Ariel, so she was drawn exactly how she looked in the movie. This page border consisted of gold starfish because they lived under the sea and she didn't know how to draw Sebastian.

A few pages followed with more starfish borders. Hmm, looked like she was going to do a lot of writing on her manuscript. Turning to a new page, she started drawing different candies. Food was one of her favourite things, and she loved sweets. Ooh, maybe she could do another page with cucumber sandwiches on it!!

...okay. So they were making a book thing and ILLUMINATING THEM. Wow. Such magic. Much cool. Eden finished making her little booklet and squinted Professor Glendower to listen to the rest of the instructions.

Oh, she just had to decorate! That would be FUN. Eden decided to paint little birds in trees...that would be pretty, and maybe she could send one to Phoenix...YES. SHE WOULD. IT WAS DECIDED. She was going to send one to Phe--a finished one--so she needed to figure out to simply draw a phoenix that looked good, but with her...lack of artistry skills, this might be hard.

Hmm.

She pulled out her book on phoenix's she always kept in her bag(for Phe reasons) and decided she'd try to trace it through the paper. If only she knew a SPELL for this...hmm...but there were lots of pictures to choose from. For now, she would draw the brown trunk of the tree....which she did, and it looked quite good, too. Eden's skills were looking okay right now! She then draw the leaves in green ink, and smiled because IT WAS LOOKING FABULOUS. She couldn't wait to send it to Phe..UGH HE WOULD LOVE IT. Maybe she'd make it his Christmas present...hmm...

Angel had been enjoying this lesson so much but now she was totally lost and was getting a bit frustrated about it all, she wished that she could have just done the writing bit and someone else could do the book cover that would have been a lot easier for her.

Angel then decided that it was time to illustrate her book, she wanted to make her book look pretty, so she decided that she would decorate it with a couple of different things, and she also made sure that she added gold and silver, she wanted it to look professional after all.

Angel finished her first page of drawings, she had decided to put an eagle on this plane, this was going to be amazing. "Animatae!" Angel traced the eagle on the page and watched as it moved back and forwards like it was flying, she wished that it could do more but alas, the Professor hadn't given them the best version and she doubted anyone would want a talking book because it would be scary.

Angel continued to work on her pages, making sure that she left enough room for the writing that would surely be going in the books later, she wanted to know what the Professor wanted them to write it in and she was sure it wouldn't be long until they knew maybe she wanted them to write something important like what they had done on her holidays. She Animated all the creature drawings she had done in the book but left a couple of gold and silver medals she had drawn unanimated and then she looked at the Professor, wondering if she had done it right.

Gold unicorns were happening. Picking up the right color, she started to trace the mama and daddies in this color. Before she knew it ALL of the unicorns were traced in gold. Where to put the silver? AHA! AJ could be silver. That would really make her pop in a sea of gold. She traced the sketch of herself in silver. The hearts were traced in red because that just made sense. There.

But she wasn't done just yet. Now that she had some ideas flowing, they just wouldn't stop coming. Who was she to mess with her creative juices? On another page she drew a huge fishing lake and had her and Adi standing side by side with fishing poles in their hands, and their lines in the water. Behind them there was a picnic set up with tons of tacos, chocolate frogs, sodas, and some of her moms homemade death by chocolate cookies.

AJ made sure to make the smiles on both of their faces huge because when they were together intense happiness happened. For good measure, AJ drew a hippogriff flying over their heads. Now everything was perfect. It was time to make her awesome work move.

"Animatae," she cried as she traced over the sketches. Nothing happened though. Of course it didn't. Sigh. AJ wasn't surprised though. Apparently this whole witch thing was still hard for her. "Animatae." This time it worked. The brunette took her time going over every piece until everything was moving. "Wicked..." Who knew books could be so cool?

Leah was taking notes. Lots of notes. She was quite disappointed that they would not be acting this lesson, but this theoretical stuff about What is history? and Illuminated Manuscripts was more than interesting too. Definitely points that would appear on her O.W.L.s, yes.

After completing her last sentence, she jumped up to gather supplies. Parchment, decorative paper, book cover and inks. That was a LOT of things, so the Hufflepuff made multiple trips to the front of the room, possibly gaining attention from her peers. Ahem. And YAY they were making their own Manuscripts! This was AMAZING.

... Wait, they had to fold all TWENTY pieces of parchment? Why?? Leah considered stacking all of them together and squashing them into a quarter, but that would be unneat. She wanted her book to be perfect. So she began folding. And folding. And folding. Soon, her signature thing was finished. She decided to practice the spell Adhero in the short break she had. "Adhero," she murmured, causing her notebook to stick together. Oops, she would have to deal with that later on. "Adhero," she repeated, this time drawing her wand down the spine of her book cover.

Next, she folded the decorative papers into half. This was less time-consuming than the parchment. She glued half to the first page, half to the inside cover, another half to the back page and the last half to the back cover. This made the book secure and stable as a whole. A lot of Adhero-ing going on here. Now that she was done assembling the book, she could move on to the DRAWING part. WHEEE.

Leah picked up a colored pencil excitedly but as soon as it was in her hand she realized that she had no idea what she was going to draw. She peeked over her shoulder at her neighbor's drawing but did not get any inspiration whatsoever. To be honest, she could not even tell what he was trying to illustrate. So she continued looking around the classroom until oooh she knew what she was going to draw. The Hogwarts castle! It was going to be a beautiful scene, unless she screwed it up that is, but she was going to try her very best.

After the last bit of the drawing - the Grounds - was sketched out, the Fifth Year flipped a page, exhausted. She was only going to doodle little stuff from now on. In the second page, she drew a bird. In the third, she drew a fish. In the fourth she drew a frog and in the fifth a dragon. In the sixth page, she drew a badger in Hufflepuff colors. Proud of her own artwork, she decided to leave the remainder of the book for writings. Yeah, fourteen pages of words - it would be fun!

And since animation is important, Leah pulled out her wand and followed Professor Glendower's demonstration. "Animatae," she said clearly, jabbing her wand at her badger. Nothing happened. Oh, her wand movement was incorrect. Big shame. "Animatae," she said again, tracing the lines carefully. The Puff badger began doing a sort of dance routine and it was just SO CUTE. Leah laughed out loud and waited for further instructions.

Yes. Absolutely the cows. There was no question about it, really. Toby NEEDED for them to be able to patrol the edges of these pages. Needed.

Because cows.

One at a time, he directed his focus to the little badly drawn cows that lined some of the pages. "Animatae," Toby would say, tracing the outline of each cow and watching as they started their strange repetitive movements. Still, it was soothing to watch. "Animate."

Soon enough, they were all moving, even the full page drawing of one that he'd done. In fact, Toby had sort of gone a little bit overkill with the animations. Every page had something that moved, be it Quidditch related, an animal, or even flowers swaying in the breeze. But it was pretty, and so totally worth it.

"Moooo."

Yes, he was whisper!mooing at the cows he'd drawn. Because why the heck not?

Cows were awesome.

"Oh, alright," Nessa smiled as she looked at all of Benjamin's illustrations while he flipped through his book for her. "Very well then." It appeared that he had meticulously illustrated each page with lavish borders and illustrations, most of the pages having plenty of room for their writing assignment. She was just making sure so he wouldn't have extra work, but it appeared he had been very focused on working very hard anyway. That was good.. but she wondered about that quiet focus, knowing something had been off about him today.

She moved about the room a little more, happy to see her students hard at work. It was different though, because it was so quiet, unlike any time they might act out a scene from history. Not bad, just different. Nessa stopped near Toby's desk next, mildly impressed to see another book with such intricate decoration. "Such lovely work!" she smiled, though notice of the many Quidditch illustrations prompted a twinge of.. well, something. Get it together, Nessarose.

Clearing her head of all thoughts but those focusing on today's lesson, she addressed the whole class, noticing that she once again went over on time. Oh, well. "Well done, everyone! I see some very lovely illustrations.. and I do hope you've all enjoyed creating your own personal illuminated manuscripts. Today's lesson has come to an end, but before you go, I do want to tell you a little bit about what you'll be doing with your books. As you may have guessed, you will be writing about your own personal histories in these books.. That includes your past and also your present, for it's your story, things that make up your own experiences." And that was what history was made up of, experiences and events that happened to people whether big or small.

"We will start off small for your homework, but this will also be a term-long project." Though she was often a big procrastinator, she found that things often worked best to complete things in smaller bits to alleviate that. "And I do understand that some things in your lives might be too personal to share... Much of it will be up to you how personal you'd like to write things, but the more details you include the better understanding you can have of your own history. And it's up to you who you'd like to share it with, other than me so that I can grade your project." She did hope they knew that she was professional enough to not think of their precious little lives as gossip, though celebrities and colleagues might be a different story.

"There will be more information on your noticeboards about this, but for now class is over.. Please put away any of the supplies that you got out and are finished with. If you'd like to add more illustrations, or decorative initials once you start writing, all of my art supplies are located in the room next door. You are all welcome to use them at any time." She gave them all a beamy smile and stood over by her once covered table to help put things away and answer any question that might come up before they left.

Having stacked her folded parchment in a neat stack, Marsha had taken a while to actually manage to get them to stick together, having eventually gotten help from the Professor, when her spell just wasn’t strong enough to hold all of that parchment together. With a ”thanks, Professor!”, she had then continued to add the decorative front and back pages herself; excited for the outcome… even if her own art skills were lacking. At least she would have made the book from scratch.

However, maybe she could do like squiggles and general drawings. So, she could start with those and figured as she got through the book it could evolve if she had more inspiration. Maybe some animals - yes. Animals, those would feature and maybe some butterflies like in the garden and flowers… Hmmm… That all worked… yes.

However, drawing was slow and she had only illustrated a few pages of the book in front of her when Professor Glendower said that their time was up. She pouted as she looked up. What? Already? Oh man, it had taken her forever to get her book together. No fair. However, that frown turned once again into a big grin as their Professor said that they could continue to edit their manuscipts in the room next door. There was a room there? HOW AMAZING WAS THAT? Wheee.

Grinning, the twleve year old nodded her head along to what they were being told. OH, how cool was that, they would be using them to write their homework in. Hehehe, nice. So much better than plain, boring parchment.

Standing up, Marsha picked up all of the inks and supplies that she had been using and moved over to the table beside Professor Glendower. ”Professor, I’m nowhere near finished illustrating, would it be okay to come down every so often and do a few more pages?” She didn’t like leaving a project half done.

Oh good...so he hadn't been doing anything wrong with his book. There was certainly a look of some relief at that bit of news. He didn't have to start over or fix anything. As the professor moved onto other students, Benny managed to retrieve some gold ink that wasn't being used any more, taking it back to his work area to add a metallic touch to his drawings. The lion in particular looked better for the addition.

So into making everything nice, he forgot the option to animate it. And then soon enough Professor Glendower was ending the lesson and explaining the idea of what they would be doing with the book throughout the turn. Ben half-groaned at the thought of writing his history....especially the present of his life. He certainly didn't want to write about himself there.

Any distraction the drawings may have helped with was gone with the news and the Gryffindor simply moved to clean up his area as instructed. Getting up from his seat, he grabbed the couple extra pieces of parchment he had left over and the various inks in his possession, including the borrowed gold, and grudgedly returned to the table to give back what wasn't his.

Oh so she could animate as many things as she wanted! Awesome! Hady grinned brightly at the thought already getting several ideas in her head that she wanted to test out later on. "Thank you Professor, she's supposed to look like my snake back home." She replied glancing back at her drawing and watching the snake slither back and forth across the parchment. It wasn't exact or anything but she wasn't really an artist anyhow. Still though she thought it resembled Aime quite nicely. Really it was rather cool looking and fun as well.

It was time to clean up though so any more drawing would have to wait until later on. SIGH. At least she had supplies up in her dorm so she could work on this whenever she liked. However the homework part sounded fun but she'd really have to think about what she was going to be writing down. If it was only something she'd be showing Professor Glendower then it wouldn't be so bad...it was just having others read it that she wasn't sure of.

Carefully packing up all her things into her bag Hady got to her feet and returned all the supplies she used to where they belonged. Slinging her bag over her shoulder she gave a cheerful wave towards the Professor. "Thanks for an interesting lesson Professor!" Now it was time to return to the common room and think about what she might be writing in this book of hers.

A term long project, huh? Adi liked those. Yes, he did. He didn't mind sharing about his life. Not that there were many ineresting things there for anyone to know about, anyway. He started packing away his belongings and gathering up Glendower's supplies to take back to the table. "You ready to go, Henric?" The duo could walk back to the Common room together if the other boy had no other thing to do.

With his bag on his left shoulder and the artsy stuff in his arms, he stalked over to the table, not realising Benny was there. "Awesome lesson, Professor, though I do miss the dress up part of the lesson.'' Down the Hufflepuff set all of the borrowed things, Benny's movement catching his eyes. He gripped the container with the gold ink he had used, anger creeping over him again. "You're NOT my best friend anymore since that's the way you seem to want it,'' he managed to say in a firm voice.

Adi plonked down the ink container before heading for the door. Was Henric coming, anyway? If he was, he could catch up with the sixth year.

Lux was just finishing up her page with the cucumber sandwich when Professor Glendower called for the end of the lesson. Awww, she had wanted to stay and work some more but it was okay. She had illustrations and loads of pages for just writing. They all had awesome gold borders too! Borders were pretty.

Recording her history seemed like fun even though Lux wasn't much of a writer. There might be some things that she didn't want to share with the world, but there was still a lot for her to say. Good thing that she had a lot of pages with plenty of space because otherwise there wouldn't be enough room. She was also glad that she hadn't decided to go down the animated route because it might be distracting.

Supplies were returned to where they belonged and she packed her stuff up, ready to go. "Thanks for the awesome lesson, Professor!" Time to head back to her dorm and take a nap. She would work on finishing up her illustrations later.

He heard Adi speaking to the professor close by before he registered the other boy had moved up to the table as well. The next thing Ben knew, the Hufflepuff was speaking to him, saying words that got him right in the gut onto of what had already been going on between them.

"Wha---" he made out, unconsciously dropping the items in his grasp on the table. The inks spilling onto the parchments. "You were the one wh--" Ben said, trying to speak, but Adi was already turned away from him and heading quickly out the door. The boy calling for Henric to follow him out of the room.

His legs grew wobbly and only him putting his hands on the table, getting his palms covered in the spilled in kept him up as everything seemed to freeze.Why did it feel like time had stopped and everything had gone wrong....so very wrong.

Huh, what? Toby looked up when he heard Glendower's voice from very closeby, and saw that she was complimenting his work. As soon as he realised that that was the case, Toby smiled at her. "Thank you, Professor." If he noticed any other sort of reaction, he didn't mention it.

Oh, but they were done? No way. Toby was sure they'd not been going for THAT long. He checked his watch, the one he'd got for his birthday from Ella when he came of age, and... yep. Class was PAST over. Wow, that went fast.

Toby was so focused on how bizarrely quickly time had flown by that he almost missed Professor Glendower telling them exactly what they'd be doing with the books. At first he faltered, slightly wary, but she went on to tell them that it was up to them what they put down. Toby chewed at his lip for a moment, thinking, but in the end nodded decisively to himself and stowed his book away in his bag. He'd find a way to keep the entire thing positive.

After returning all the borrowed supplies and packing away his own, Toby grabbed his wand again, automatically started twirling it, and smiled at Professor Glendower. "See ya later, Professor. Thanks for the lesson, it was fun." His mood had been boosted, probably because he'd had the chance to draw cows. After saluting Glendower with his free hand, Toby left the classroom, blissfully oblivious to, uh... any angst in the room.
