As you walk down the first floor corridor headed towards the History of Magic classroom, the faint sounds of music can be heard coming from that direction. It's not all that loud and seems more for the benefit of Professor Glendower as she is putting herself in the proper mindset for class.

Outside the classroom door hangs a large, ornate sign with the message, Make an Entrance. It is the same sign that hung outside the room last year, but she has written in her own flowery cursive the word Respectfully

underneath it as she realized that some students needed the reminder. She was all about creativity and individual interpretation, but it was important to be nice too!

Once inside the classroom, you'll find Professor Glendower who might be singing along to the music as she happily dances through the rows of chairs, placing a chocolate frog on each desk. Welcome to History of Magic!

SPOILER!!: DEC and PUCK

Eden eyed the sign. Make an entrance. No. Eden was much too cranky to do that today. She just wanted to GO in, SIT down, and just--try to pay attention in what she figured would be a boring class.

UGH.

She had hardly slept last night, and she didn't even know WHY. She did spot a Declan, though, and PUCK! She had officially met them both at Vinnie and Paloma's little gathering--so she sit right by the and smiled a little and waved.

"Hi, Declan! Hey Puck--" she said and she nodded at them both. "How's it going today? Dec, is this class usually boring?" she asked, raising an eyebrow at him. Please say no. She didn't want to fall asleep at ALL. Mehh.

She did wink at Puck, though. The girl was really cool. And she liked her so far.

The sweetest smile spread across her face. "And who's going to make me? You good Sir?" She dared him.

Maleficent gave a derisive snort. "What kind of name is that?" The names peasants gave to their children, but who was she to tell them how to live their bleak and miserable lives. She gave an amused chuckle. "I do admire the folly of the impoverished and lowly. You amuse me funny little man so I'll let you keep your tongue." Silly silly boy trying to cross the Mistress of All Evil. Silly silly boy.

Ahhh what was that? The sweet smell of magic in the air. The chill had gripped her to her bone and had her eyes scanning the roomwhere she spotted a little beastie aiming a wand at her. Always a critic wasn't there? Someone unhappy with her work. Effortlessly she shifted in her seat, hearing the soft thwack of the spell against the frame of the share she was sitting on. "Rude little beastling, aren't you?"

"There's a smart toadstool." She commented with a nod and an approving smirk. All her soon to be subjects should have been this compliant.

Again with this 'Lex' name. Honestly someone needed to tell her what a Lex WAS, how else was she meant to keep up? Tsk tsk. Ah but he was referring to the treats she'd been kind enough to help herself too. Maleficent kicked her feet up onto the big desk and let out a CACKLE, strong and dark in nature. He couldn't mean to be correcting her. Him, the likes of HIM thinking he can talk to her. She cackled more for the hell of it. He should consider himself disregarded.

"Stealing is whatever you make it little beastie and I choose to make it MINE." If she wasn't going to do anything about it, well then she could stop talking to her now because she wasn't listening.

Crying?

She might have been cackling even more than before. This was priceless, truly classic. HA.

Eden couldn't help but the hear..the RUDENESS. She shot the head girl eyes and squinted. If she had been a BIT braver she would have...said something--what?! She took that kid's CHOCOLATE? Rude. She had some extra chocolate in her backpack--maybe she'd offer him some after class. Poor kid. And then Kyroh--the kid in her house--looked so SAD..

UGH.

Eden just growled her way..but didn't say anything...nope. SHe would only be mean if the girl was mean to her. So there. Not causing trouble hereeee NOPE.

Make an entrance? Didnt they have to do that last term as well? Jeremiah thought about it for a moment before setpping ibto the room where he was going to do a little dance but the sight of the hooded figure stopped him in his tracks as he gasped and took the sight in. Was it stealing chocolate frogs that the professor was giving out?! How rude?! He scanned the room before his eyes fell upon Beverly and well that was enough of an entrance there as she was sitting next to no one else but...... Cutty. she knew how that made him feel and this was also the second class this week this is happened and he had a feeling she was doing it on purpose.

Picking his chin up off the floor, figuratively of course, he made his way to a seat on the far side of the room away from anyone else in the room and sat with a huff. "Good day professor." Yes yes good day. Hows tbat for an entrance. Hmph!

Eating the piece of chocolate, Kevin turned his attention back to the door to see the rest of the entrances with a bored expression. Lex's though, caught his interest. Her whole...personality had changed and just...wow. ....She even looked good with dark hair-WAITWHAAAAT?!

Shaking his head the Gryffindor frowned when after her entrance she went on , telling a first year in to giving her the chocolate. Kevin turned to look at the Professor. Was she going to throw her in detention as well? Because if she didn't it would be super unfair!

"HEY LEX! GREAT ACTING!" What? even he didn't lie all the time. But just because he admitted that her acting was good didn't mean he liked her now. She was still a stupid , body bind lang lock hexing toad hmpf.

Once her grand entrance was made AJ settled into a seat beside Adi. She didn't have a chance to even talk to the boyfriend because Alexa happened. What was the head girl doing? Why was her hair a darker color? Was she flippin' stealing chocolate frogs? Lex liked her sweets, everybody knew that, but to see her blatantly steal several of them from the class was out of the ordinary. Not cool, so not cool. Without hesitation AJ stuffed her own chocolate frog in her robes because it was HERS. That was one fight that she didn't want to have.

Her eyes only turned away from Lex when Benny joined the group. "I dunno, but hide your chocolate frogs," she said in response to his question. "Apparently Lex has went batty." Adi joined another kid in telling her that what she was doing was wrong, but there had to be more to this story. This Lex was all wrong. Was anybody understanding? "You okay, Lex? Because we care.

Then the head girl waltzed up and took a seat in the professor's chair. Oh, this was going to get interesting and fast.

My, my! This was one of Professor Glendower’s favorite parts of class – well, really all parts were good in their own right. But she did love to see how the children interpreted their own individual entrance. Some of them were quite daring like walking on hands as she wasn’t sure she still had the flexibility to do that. she should try it sometime and see. “Hello, Lux,” she called out cheerfully, watching somewhat impressed as the girl made her way to her seat.

With her right hand in the air she twirled not once, not twice, but three times while Adi's left hand guided her. Then without warning she dipped low to the ground, and knew that Adi would be there to catch her. She wasn't at all concerned about hitting the floor because she knew her hunk of a prefect wouldn't ever let her get hurt on his watch. As he caught her, she gave him a smile that only he could make her do. Back on her feet she was still grinning. "I have a great partner." He was the reason why she was able to make a fabulous entrance.

Nessa turned towards the door again as she heard a boy call out to the class and then to her. Oh, why it was the other new Hufflepuff prefect and.. one of the Valentine twins, she still wasn’t able to tell them apart. Aww, and look at that! Holding hands, how precious! “Hello, hello,” she beamed at the children as they walked in. Then she gasped a bit as they began their dance, grinning at them as they finished. “How lovely.. well done!” she said, clapping for them.

Okay sure he'll give an entrance and it'll benefit everyone. Declan strolled to the front of the class and posed. There people take a good look. You can look, but you can't toooouch. He spun around, so they could take a look at the back of the prize and then went off to find a seat of his own. This chocolate frog was so worth it.

Tilting her head, she watched curiously as the next student came in, wondering just what his entrance would be. Ah, just like a diva.. she remembered a couple of entrances like those from last year and they all had their own unique spin on them. “Good afternoon, Declan,” she beamed at the boy before he took his seat. She did love seeing everyone’s take on entering class, it seemed to offer her an added glimpse into their personalities.

Now that the class was filling up, Nessa wasn’t so much singing anymore as she was greeting everyone but the music was just too catchy that she couldn’t help but to hum along in between student entrances. She turned her eyes to the doorway yet again as a figure suddenly appeared and she watched intently. Must be a first year, how sweet! Beaming warmly, she gave him her full attention as he marched in, then gave him a salute in return. “Hi.. and welcome!”

Oh now this was interesting. Nessa watched curiously as Zander walked into the room in an unusual manner. Hmm.. hmm.. she continued watching intently as she tried to figure it out. “An inferi?” she mused aloud, before giving the boy a big smile. “Hi, Zander! I certainly did, thank you for asking!” Such a delightful boy he was and so polite! “I hope you can say the same.”

She didn't move right away, in total fear of what kind of faces she might be looking at once she'd gathered herself together. But, she knew that she had to stand up whether she liked it or not, or thus be more subjected to a possible scolding from the Professor.

Taking a moment to sit up on her knees, she quickly brought her fingers under her nostrils & then soon looked at her fingers letting out a sigh of relief. She hadn't experienced a nose bleed...not yet at least, but aside from that, there was just some slight alteration she had to make with her uniform & her hair, but after that, everything seemed to be in order.

Refusing to look at anyone around her, she immediately gestured a VERY quick curtsy in the direction of the Professor before letting out a slightly shaky, "S-S-Sorry Professor....Em...G-Good Morning...I-I uh...Th-There was...Ju-st...." But that was all she could get out before quickly taking a seat hiding her face from the others around her.

Oh goodness! Nessa gasped as her attention was soon diverted by the small, tumbling girl at the front of the room as she was pretty sure that she had not intended to do that. She stood, stunned, for a moment, before rushing over. “Oh dear, are you alright?” But it seemed that she was, thank goodness, as the Ravenclaw got to her feet and even curtseyed. “Oh, no need to apologize,” Nessa told her, managing a small yet still concerned smile for her. “And good day to you too, Josie.” She smiled a bit bigger, trying to reassure her. Maybe the chocolate frog would help.

She smiled widely at him as he took his seat. “Oh but you did, Kevin.. simply walking in is your entrance,” she said brightly as she gestured grandly with her arms. And truth be told, she did appreciate the fireworks last time.. it was just the hexing behind the back thing that she had real issue with.

If there was one thing that Professor Glendower loved more than showtunes, it was tap dancing. And this boy was already making an impression. She watched gleefully as he tap danced into the room, doing his best to keep up with the tempo of the music. “Bravo!” she clapped as he finished and headed towards his seat. “And welcome to History of Magic!”

Nessa beamed at the young girl walking in so confidently. Another first year perhaps as she looked the part. “Good day.. and welcome!” she said cheerfully, bowing her head a bit as the girl curtseyed in front of her.

This was one of her favorite parts in the still-playing song and, though she sang a bit softer as she continued to prepare for class as students continued to enter, she couldn’t help but get even more beamy as Ethan arrived. Oh he wanted to sing along? Wonderful! “….catching a firefly... setting him freeeeeeeeee!” she finished singing the verse, with flourishy arms, along with the prefect. “Good afternoon, Ethan!” Another one of her delightful students, she was pleased to have him back in her class for another term.

Some of the entrances were somewhat reminiscent of earlier ones and that was perfectly okay. It simply reinforced things that she had learned about her students and she still found them unique to the individuals. Like Beverly’s entrance today reminded her of one the girl had done last term – so confident! Nessa gave her a bright smile as she came in. “Good day, Beverly.. welcome back!”

The little voice caught her attention next. Ah yes, another with the treat. Again she could feel the girl's spirit getting loud. Rattled thing wasn't she? Didin't know how to properly be taken under control. Nevermind that, Maleficent would appease her with these odds delicacies so she snatched the other from this boys desk. "I'll be taking this and you'll be thanking me you haven't met upon any spinning wheels. A pleasure we got to talk young man." Then she was off again

"YOU!" She roared at this one. "You nearly knocked me over you son of a toad! An ugly toad!" The nerve. Maleficent gave him a cold glare, wondering if he knew who she was, maybe then he'd make his steps a little more sure when around her. "I'll be taking this." She informed, her tone not changing in the slightest as she snatched his chocolate frog from the table. Would he protest?

Strange, very strange. The girl got louder at the sight of this one but even then the Mistress of All Evil was able to keep a firm hold on her. No escaping just yet. It had been centuries since she was last allowed to stretch her legs. Perhaps it wasn't he girl but again treat. In any case she snatched the chocolate frog from this table as well with nothing more than a scowl and a flashy whirling of her cape to depart. Bigger fishes to fry you see.

"Give this to me." She barked, grabbing the chocolate frog from this table as well. There. Note how many she'd gotten the girl. Surely she'd quiet down now. Enough for her to go about her day maybe.

Now where to sit, where to sit. Ah, foolish question, they'd reserved her seat for her at the front of the room. A smirk of satisfaction graced her lips as she sauntered over to the comfy chair by the front and sat herself in it. None of those chairs the others were using. Those could hardly be considered comfortable and when the Mistress of All Evil Arrives, she deserved nothing but the best.

She would wait to be addressed and accepted curtsies, bows and the odd occasion of gift bestowing.

And speaking of literary characters, just what had Alexa come in as? My, my.. she had even changed her hair and dressed the part in anticipation of her traditional unique entrances for class, hadn’t she? Nessa watched intently as she acted the part quite convincingly, trying to put her finger on just who she was entering as. Some sort of evil queen perhaps? She searched the recess of her mind, a few possibilities surfacing, as she raised an eyebrow at just how mean this evil queen or whatever was being. Yes.. very convincing. And.. was she sitting in her chair? Not that Nessa ever used it for class, but she would need to sit in a student seat once class begin.

“Well.. what a performance, Miss Cambridge!” she exclaimed, clapping her hands together. She had quite the prospects of being a stage performer and maybe she could even credit the exercises in her class. Though her part was perhaps a little too intense for some of the younger ones who looked as if they were going to cry upon losing their chocolate frog for the moment. Quite a credit to the performer.. though she was really pushing it to the point of being rude. “Now as compelling and authentic a performance as that was, I do need you to return the chocolate frogs to the desks from which you’ve taken the. We’re going to need them for class!” She was still beaming as she turned her eyes away, expecting the girl to follow her directions. And to chill on the performance now that class would start.

And welcome back to those of you who are returning for another term! For those of you who don't know me, my name is Professor Glendower and it's my goal to teach you history in the most fun and engaging way!" Why not have fun while learning, otherwise it just got boring in her opinion. And she hoped that they enjoyed her first lesson of the term because in a way, chocolate frogs sort of held that same theory.

"Now.. I put a chocolate frog on everyone's desk.." She glanced at Alexa. She was replacing the ones she had taken now, yes? "You may eat them now if you'd like, but what we're really interested in today are the other things that come inside them. The Wizard trading cards! Go ahead and eat the candy now if you want, but don't peek at the card inside just yet, we're going to leave it as a surprise for later!" They needed that part for class, but she paused a moment to allow the students to snack a bit if they wanted. And maybe hide their card from themselves if they were too tempted.

"Before we take a look at your actual card.. who can tell us what they are used for and venture a guess on why they might be included with a chocolate frog?"

What were they used for? A cheap advertising scheme, probably, but Caleb wasn't going to be that cynical in class...he'd word it better than that. He just had to think it over. He ran his finger over the outline of the card on his desk, wishing they could flip it over already - seriously, it was driving him MAD! - but raised his hand after a moment or two with a good answer.

"Well, when the kids know they're going to get a chocolate frog card, it encourages them to buy more, so it's a way to increase sales,' he explained. Yup. Simple as that.

Oooh, so Alexa was just putting on a show. That was her entrance. Phew. AJ had been worried about her mama lion, but all was well. Plus, she still had her own chocolate frog. AJ beamed at the professor as she gushed on her and Adi's performance. It really was great, wasn't it? Adi got another smile from her because without him AJ couldn't have pulled it off.

You didn't have to ask AJ twice to eat a chocolate frog. She reached in her robes and pulled hers out now that it was safe from the chocolate thief. Unwrapping it, she took a bite out of the head while she thought about the question.

The lion raised her hand. "Aren't they used to gush over important witches and wizards?" As far as the chocolate goes... it was just yummy to eat.

The Hufflepuff grinned at Professor Glendower when she clapped for him and AJ. That had been one of his best entrances yet. The girlfriend got a grin too. She had been simply marvelous.

Adi continued to eye Lex for a while. So it was really just her entrance? Okay. That was good.

And cue the start of the lesson. Of course he would like to have his Froggy now, thank you very much. He unwrapped it while listening to the Professor speak. Ohh! They were talking about the Cards today? Cool! Adi carefully laid his card face down while he chewed on the Frog.

After the candy was totally gone, he raised a hand. "They can be included just for plain old collecting, Professor." He was a collector, ya know. Yep.

Sooo Lex was being that villain lady from Sleeping Beauty? Strange, but okay. David thought it was kinda funny actually, especially some of the others' reactions.

But anyway, time to for class to start apparently. And to eat their chocolate frog ~~if they still had one~~ too. So he unwrapped his, stuck the card in his pocket to make sure he couldn't look at it, and munched on the chocolate as he considered the question.

After a few seconds, he raised his hand. "I'd say they're used for getting people to start learning about important witches and wizards in history even at a young age." At least for those who were exposed to and a part of the wizarding world even they were little.

Her spell had missed. How did Alexa even KNOW she'd cast one. The brunette was disappointed but she kept her face neutral when the Head Girl called her a rude beastling. WHAT EVEN? Who SAID stuff like that? Something was up with the girl, THAT was for sure.

ALSO, was Glendower SERIOUS? Did she not see that Kyroh was upset? Maddie was seriously questioning the woman's brain because clearly there were more important things to be discussed than chocolate frogs, pretentious candy. She refused and so she reached over and squeezed Kyroh's hand instead. She wasn't going to hug him or anything but she WOULD do that much. She had his back.

Her feet remained poised on the table as they'd been before and she made no move to remove herself from this comfortable position but she did fix the woman with a look. "You presume to tell me what to do??? And you do this without addressing me correctly??"

Maleficent cackled, as she had when the boy thought he could tell her what to do. It was strange, these Peasants. Did they know nothing of courtesies to the Mistress of All Evil???

"They can do well enough without these frogs I've taken. The girl inside me fancies them and I intend to silence her." At that, she ripped one open, her eyes widening as it moved. A mud frog? They were losing their senses over a muddy FROG???? Or no, the woman said chocolate. As it threatened to hop off the table she snatched it and followed the instinct to bite into it. Not bad at all.

"These cards have no use. They are not currency and cannot be eaten." Since everyone was giving input.

Ah, class was starting. Well he can't eat it now even if he wanted too. Or peek at the card. So he was good on those instructions.

"Some people just like to collect dumb things likes trading cards" Dante said shrugging. Unless they really like the info on them. Boring stuff if you asked him.

Kyroh sniffled, wipping his running nose on his robe sleeve. He hesitated before turning his red eyes over to look at Maddie as she squeezed his hand. "I'm fine." He mumbled. See? Not crying. No. Maybe he was just an ugly toad and Alexa was just telling him the truth, that no one else wanted to say?

......Lifting his head off his desk he shook his hand free from Maddie's and raised it.

"They're used to help children in the wizard world learn about important people since little kids don't have History of Magic classes." He said quietly.

See Bodie? Toby? He was no baby.

Professor got cool points for supplying the noms, but he could have lived without the plastic after taste. Yo, a good chocolate was an expensive chocolate. Not this...trader card thing.

Licking his fingers, Hugh raised his hand, "It's a marketing technique to set their chocolate apart from other chocolates." Coz the taste wasn't on their side, yo.

Smiling at the Professor Hady sat up in her chair when the class began. So the Chocolate Frogs were what they would talk about today? That was cool with her.

Opening the box she removed the card but kept it to the side so as not to look at it and held her free hand over the box so the frog wouldn't jump away. She wasn't really a big fan of chocolate honestly but she could give it to someone else if they wanted it. Glancing around she checked to see if she saw anyone that might want it as she gave thought to the question the Professor asked.

Hady had a few ideas on why the cards could be given with the chocolate frogs but but they had been said already. So rather then repeat her thoughts she kept quiet and listened to what everyone else thought.

What was this madness? Dot was NOT PLEASED that Lex was tormenting Kyroh, partly because she adored Lex and partly because she adored Kyroh. It was nice that Maddie was the one casting spells at the older girl, since Dot wasn't sure she could bring herself to do it.

But Maddie was thwarted. Dot growled quietly as she opened her own chocolate frog, pinning the poor thing to her desk with the flat of her hand. Dot removed the card and then chucked the empty box at the back of Lex's stupid pointy head.

DO NOT MAKE KYROH SAD. He was meant to be happy.

"It's a sales tactic, right? You buy more so you can get the whole collection, even if you have to buy loads to get the rare ones." And they were only rare because they were determined to be so by the people making them. What a genius racket.

"Yeah. Me," was all Toby said to Alexa, though a smidge less forcefully than before. Because he didn't even know WHAT he'd do to make her stop, other than try and talk things out, Hufflepuff style.

But right now they were in class and the Professor was the authority, and she had this covered. Toby relaxed a little in his chair, but continued to watch the Head Girl who was now claiming to be someone completely different, and acting very not-Lex-ish... though did he really know her well enough to tell? Probably not. Was she turning into mean!Lex or was this all part of her ~Entrance~. She was taking it to some real extremes, if so.

He didn't know what to think at all, and was still fighting the urge to go and see if Kyroh was okay. Toby would definitely make time to hang out with him after this lesson

Still keeping one eye on Lex, and feeling quite confused and protective and all kinds of things, Toby finally looked at Soph and gave her a smile. He felt better with her here. Grounded and all that. He was cool. It was fine.

The lesson was starting, and Toby started making notes as Professor Glendower spoke, occasionally glancing over to Lex as he sat there, jaw set.

Toby didn't fancy the chocolate right this minute, but found himself raising his hand to answer, but when he spoke it was was a challenge to drag his eyes away from Lex and onto the professor, and his tone was flat and less enthusiastic than usual, though partly for other reasons.

"History is something that's a kind of a specific interest, and something that a lot of people might find difficult to learn about, because it's all about facts and dates and names and stuff." Ahem. Speaking from experience. "But probably a lot more people can get behind the idea of chocolate." No offense, but... yeah. "And loads of different kinds of people like chocolate. Young and old, academic people and not-so-academic people, and all that. So, if you put the cards in with the chocolate, it's like... a way of educating a big range of people. Because... history is important for all kinds of people to know." Toby supposed he was finally starting to understood that part now, about needing to learn from the past to improve the future.

As soon as he'd finished speaking, Toby found himself looking at Lex again. Just checking. Keeping an eye out. Y'know.

Devlin would not be eating the chocolate frog right now. Sorry.

He did, however, open it up and quickly grabbed the card, and put it on his desk, face down, and slightly covered by his notebook so that he a very little chance of knowing what he'd gotten. The box was quickly closed, leaving the frog trapped inside.

If he just sat very quietly he could just breeze through the class, perhaps the Professor even forgetting he was here. Yes. Make no noise and he'd be alright.

Now, answers, they would not be coming as well. Not because he refused to, but because, as everyone went about giving their own inputs Devlin realized a lot of them were going with the whole 'business strategy' ideas. Something he'd thought of. Not wanting to repeat himself, or rather repeat everyone else's 'brilliant' ideas, which were all the same and mostly meant they weren't inventive, he would simply listen.

No noise being made, remember?

Dec smiled slightly at the professor when she greeted him. He'll take that as an approval of his giving entrance. Yep, he noticed the whole weird thing Alexa was doing and he honestly couldn't care less as long as she didn't take his chocolate. That would send Dec into a full diva mode. Then, he'd have to care and really? Who wants that?

However, he still sent an unimpressed glare over to her direction because she was on the verge on making the little ones cry and that's REALLY not cool. He popped his chocolate frog into his mouth just as Rorie's friend walked in and sat near him. She had come clean at Vin and Pal's party as not his stalker and he wasn't all that freaked out anymore. He smiled a sly little smile at the shy little non-stalker and simply shrugged his shoulders, chewing his chocolate slowly. That's up to her to find out. All about the experience, right?

He flicked the box that the chocolate came in, "It was an attempt to teach kids about wizards and witches of history, luring them in with candy that, coincidentally, could get away if they're not careful. They underestimated kids, though." Dec was highly aware he was being a sourpuss today and honestly, he did not care one bit.

Ian sat quietly at his desk, staring at the frog. When he had sat down he had pushed the frog as far away as he could without it falling down. He had considered placing it on an empty desk, but it might seem rude to the professor. When the professor spoke of the place of the frogs in the lesson, Ian pulled his closer. Unfortunately it had reminded him of better days, and he know longer felt that same happiness he'd once felt.

He listened to the other answers. Of course the answer was to use as a teaching tool to young wizards, but history taught merely for the teaching served no purpose. Ian raised his hand and answered quietly. the cards are simple reminders of both the triumphs and challenges of wizard kind. Historical information is useless if it isn't used to make the present better.

“Is it to make the candy the staple chocolate in the wizarding world?” Or…yeah, something about increasing their sales? “They probably use the cards to lure us to buy it, and make the chocolate more famous.” It is, definitely, but Ethan thought the guys behind the Chocolate Frog have an ulterior motive.

And…what was Lex yapping about?

The girl inside her? Oooh. Now that is acting. She’s that effective, yeah? Lex almost made Kyroh cry over there, plus his friends are all getting worked up. She really should give acting a shot after Hogwarts. Just saying.

That was a certainty. Though the answer was no to the professor noticing, other than the theft of the chocolate frogs. Such being told to return them to their proper owner. "Hello Professor," he said apologetically when Glendower's greeting towards him reminded him that he had forgotten to earlier.

Benny kept his own chocolate frog safe as he took his seat properly even of he'd likely give it to Adi or Angel when they were done with them. Minus the card he would keep in his notesas reference for whatever connection they would be used for during the class. As for the answer to the question, the Gryffindor really couldn't think of anything to add to what was already being said. So he was content to pull out some parchment and scribble down various answers.

It was official. This lady Professor, like the other one he had, was NUTS... like, super duper happy which was really weird. And the music and the humming and singing was just so so sooooo wrong. It was the type of things they played in the lower school block of his primary school. Yeah. YEAH.

He took his seat, eventually, and started unpacking his parchment, quill and ink, ready for whatever the lesson may bring. The chocolate frogs were a nice touch, and he was tempted to consume his NOW, but he would wait and see, no hurry.

When the lesson started, and Professor lady said they COULD eat them, that was all the word he needed. He tore open the packet and snagged the frog before it made an escape. While he ate, he considered WHY they were studying this chocolate frog card business. Obviously this was HISTORY OF MAGIC, so that was a clue... but as for WHY they were in chocolate packs???..

Zeke's hand rose in the air as he swallowed his last mouthful. "Professooorrr," he started, "chocolate cards can be used for many things, coasters, wonky table props, as collectibles and such.. but they teach us history. That's their primary function." OBVIOUSLY... And as for why they came with chocolate, well that was simple enough. "And the government wants to make sure everyone is educated somehow because history can sometimes be boring and so this way it makes it funner for the younger kids and stuff. AND... information is controlled by the government and stuff, so they also use it to indoctrinate us." It was all about exposure. Exposure to information and views that THEY wanted us to knowwww!!!!!

And.... was it just him? Or was Lex 'nanas?

As class got started, Soph was still completely clueless about what was going on with everyone, except that Tobes was still a little angry-looking and Kyroh looked heartbroken and Lex looked... well. Sophie didn't even know what was going on with that one. But she minded her own business for now, pulling her parchment in front of her and writing necessary boring class stuff at the top of her notes as Glendower gave her intro, then brightened up a bit upon realizing there was a chocolate frog on her desk for HER. Cool! Unable to resist - and since they had permission - Sophie absolutely plucked the little chocolate frog from the package and devoured it shamelessly before turning the whole package over so she wouldn't be tempted to further peek inside and see WHICH card she had. Not that she collected them or anything, but she mostly couldn't resist the temptation to do something someone instructed her not to probably ninety percent of the time.

But for now, she had good self-control, distracted by her consumption of chocolate and note-taking of her own thoughts to the professor's question before she finally raised a hand to shrug and give her input, "I dunno, personally, I think the idea of selling the chocolate probably came first, y'know, THEN the card came to be a thing. I think the main draw is that MOST people love chocolate," only the crazy and allergic didn't, "and chocolate frogs are super good and fairly easy to come by, I think, so throwing the dash of history and HONORING people in the past who've done great things is a cool incentive of sorts and it'll educate people on our history. It's like... the wizarding world's way of making sure everyone KNOWS who the big shots are, past and present, y'know? And some people probably grow up hoping to achieve something great enough to have the honor of becoming one of the people on a chocolate frog card. So it could even be like... a big subliminal conspiracy thing by the government or whoever to get wizards and witches to try to outdo everyone else and make strides to carry us forward and develop our capabilities with magic as a whole."

Sophie had come to that conclusion just as she spoke it aloud, but she thought it made perfect sense.
