Alrighty, here's the new post Let's find out who this mystery person is Enjoy! “It’s his loss, you know,” said a voice from the shadows.
Emily jumped slightly at the mysterious voice. At first she thought it was Draco, but his voice wasn’t as deep as this person’s voice. She strained her eyes to see his figure, but it wasn’t working. “Who are you?” Emily asked him cautiously. “He’s just trying to make you jealous,” he said. “Who are you?” Emily repeated.
The mysterious person slowly walked out from the shadows. Emily recognized him as Cody Cheek. He was one of the hottest guys in the school, a fellow Gryffindor actually. He was the same age as the twins, fifteen. She had never spoken to him before because he seemed a little intimidating. “Cody? What are you doing out here?” she asked him, blushing slightly. “I skipped lunch and went down to the kitchens to get some grub. Then, I saw red leave and you by the window. Thought I’d offer a shoulder,” he said smoothly.
Emily stared at him blankly for a moment before nodding. “Oh,” was all she could think of to say. She immediately felt stupid after she let the two-letter word leave her lips. “So, do you want to talk about it?” he asked her, disregarding her rosy cheeks. Emily shook her head slightly, and then nodded, finally giving in. “Why don’t we go to this place I know that’s a little more private?” he asked. “Okay, lead the way,” Emily said. Cody motioned for her to follow him and she obliged. They made their way down a narrow passageway. So narrow in fact that their hands brushed up against each other, but neither flinched nor yanked their hands away. Cody peeked at her from the corner of his eye. “You know, it has never been this dramatic before,” he chuckled, trying to make small talk. “I know,” Emily sighed. “I wish it would go back to the way it was before.”
“You mean before the whole Draco and George ordeal?” Cody asked. “What…what are you talking about?”
“Don’t try denying it. I caught you guys once. I just never told you about it, which makes sense because we don’t talk.”
“I…I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Emily denied anyway. “Emily, it’s all right. I’m not going to tell anybody,” Cody promised. Emily flinched slightly at her name. Ten minutes ago she didn’t even know that he knew she existed, much less her name. She stared in wonder about him. Could she trust him with her secrets? She had never had to question George or Fred about this. George. Sigh. Emily looked deep into his blue eyes; they were like ice. Somehow, when she looked deep into his eyes, she knew that she could trust him with just about everything. She saw humor, sarcasm, gentleness, seriousness, and suave in those eyes. “Yes, before all of the Draco and George nonsense. I can’t believe my life has turned into some type of drama series,” Emily chuckled. “If only they were fun living in just like they’re fun watching,” joked Cody.
Emily stared at him in wonder. “You know about the muggle television?” she asked curiously. “Don’t seem so surprised. I live in a muggle neighborhood, not to mention that I did go to kindergarten.”
Emily laughed lightly. Inside her mind she couldn’t help but think about how natural and easy her laugh was. “Wow, I never would have imagined that.”
“Oh really? And why is that?” he asked with a smirk. “I don’t know. I guess I just never pegged you as the muggle insight kind of guy,” Emily said. “Sorry to disappoint,” Cody said. “You didn’t.”
“Good to know.” Cody picked up the pace slightly and then turned around. “Welcome to my hiding spot,” he said, grinning. He opened the door on his right, holding it open for her.
Emily walked in through the doorway and glanced around. It was one of the classrooms that were no longer in use. It seemed that Cody had touched it up a bit. The walls were painted a light blue, which looked striking with his eyes. All of the desks and chairs were nowhere in sight. The ceiling, much like the Great Hall, was charmed to show the sky outside. The sun was starting set and left a rainbow of pinks, oranges, and purples across the sky. In one corner was an actual tree. She gaped at the entirety of the room. It was like magic. “Did you do all this?” she asked him. He nodded at her and she glanced at the other side of the room.
It had a tire swing hanging from the air and flowers lining the walkway. It was beautiful. Emily walked forward toward the swing. She grabbed the rope in her hand and looked at the sky. Cody wandered over to the tree and sat beneath it. As Emily stared at the sky, Cody stared at Emily.
He had always known who she was and was always interested in her. And even though he was the “hottest” guy in the school, he could never muster up enough courage to talk to her. She was different than any of the other girls that threw themselves at him. Not only does she not throw herself at him, but she’s also smart, funny, athletic, and drop dead gorgeous. Yes, all of the other girls were pretty, but Emily’s beauty was completely natural. She’s down to earth and sees the good in everybody. He stared at her wonderment and smiled.
Emily glanced at Cody and found him smiling at her. “What?”
Cody just shook his head. Emily walked over to him and sat beside him under the tree. “How come you’re showing me this little hide out? If I had it, I’d want to keep it all to myself,” she said. “I guess some things are better if you share them with others. And I thought you could use some cheering up and a hide out of your own,” Cody explained. Emily just nodded. “Do you mind if I borrowed it some time?”
“Not at all. That’s why I brought you here, so you can come anytime really. Maybe, we’ll...er,” Cody hesitated, “run into each other from time to time.”
“I’d like that,” she smiled at him. He grinned back at her. He didn’t know why, but he actually felt nervous. “So, would you like to talk about it?” he asked her.
Emily nodded slightly. “Where to begin?” she asked herself.
Emily told Cody about her friendship with George and how deep down she’s always loved him. She told him about the dance and the kiss and how she broke his heart and hers by saying that she couldn’t pursue her feelings. She told about how she broke them again. She told him that she finally realized that she wanted him forever and was going to tell him so. She told him about how she felt when she walked in on him and Angelina. She told Cody everything except for the Sirius thing. There were only two people she could trust that secret with.
Cody listened to her story. When she finished, she looked at the ground, not being able to meet his eyes. “Sometimes being apart like this makes people stronger, makes their feelings stronger. He’ll realize that he’s lying to himself about liking Angelina or he’ll get sick of trying to make you jealous. He’ll come back to you,” Cody said. Emily looked over at him. “Thanks, I needed to talk to somebody about this,” she said. “Anytime,” Cody promised.
The two sat there under the tree for a while. Before they knew it, it was time for dinner. Emily and Cody left their own personal outside and headed for the Great Hall. Emily glanced down the table and saw George and Angelina close together, Fred and Lee across from them. Fred noticed her and waved half-heartedly, Lee did the same. She smiled and waved back. Cody and her sat at the end of the table. Everyone around them was gaping at them. Emily, embarrassed, blushed slightly as Cody started getting agitated. “Why don’t you people get a life and stop snooping in on ours,” he said harshly to the people staring. Everyone who had been watching quickly turned away. Emily looked at him. “You okay?” she whispered. He nodded. “So, er, do you have any siblings?” she asked him awkwardly.
He laughed lightly, breaking the awkwardness, and they picked up their carefree conversations from earlier. They talked about their families, Quidditch, classes, and friends over dinner. But the last subject kind of hit a sour note with Emily and it stopped abruptly. All too soon, everyone was getting up from the table and making their way to their respective common rooms. Emily fell in step next to Cody in the hall, but neither said a word.
Inside the common room, at the separation of the stairs, Emily and Cody paused. She faintly noticed that George, Angelina, Hermione, Fred, Lee, Ron, Ginny, and Harry were all staring at them. “So, I guess I’ll see you tomorrow?” he asked. “Yeah, I hope so,” she replied. “You do realize that they’re all staring right now, right?” he asked in an undertone. “Yeah, I realized.”
“What do you say we try to make a certain someone really jealous right now?” he asked quietly to where only she could hear. “What did you have in mind?” she asked cautiously. “Not much,” he grinned. Before she could respond, he pulled her closer to him and engulfed her in a hug. He lifted her up in the air and twirled her around. She laughed as she spun around. When he set her back on the floor, he took her hand in his and kissed the top. Then he kissed both of her cheeks. “Until tomorrow,” he said a bit louder than normal. He bolted up the stairs before she had time to register anything. She stood there for a moment longer, blushing madly.
Turning, she saw George’s mouth wide open. “Night,” she said dreamily to the group. As she walked up the stairs to her dormitory, she thought about the day she’d had. From the horrid lesson to the confession of George’s love, and then on to meeting her father and Cody, she thought of the promise she had broken. She had promised no more drama; well, that was out of the question now. She had a feeling that the next few weeks were going to be extremely dramatic.
Taking off her sneakers, she plopped down on her bed. She didn’t even bother undressing. She smiled against her pillow. Falling asleep, she thought of a tire swing that definitely had her name on it tomorrow.
*Alrighty, tell me watchya think

Awe Emily, wow! This is working out nicely for Emily, but, poor Cody. He likes her doesn't he? He thinks he'll help her by making George jealous, but sometimes these things backfire, then there's more of a mess to deal with than there was before. Sure hope everything works out ok. Cody's hide out sounds sweet. He should have said, no, I think when she asked to borrow it. She probably has visions of her and George being there. I'll be watching for more. Great writing.

Emily awoke the next morning in her jeans and shirt from the day before. She yawned, stretching her arms. Looking in front of her, she nearly jumped out of the bed. Hermione and Ginny were wide-awake sitting on the end of her bed, just staring at her. “Jeez, guys! You could have given me a warning!” Emily gasped. “Sorry,” Ginny replied. “We didn’t mean to frighten you,” Hermione added as Ginny nodded. “So...er...what’s up?” Emily asked awkwardly. “Well, we wanted to know what you were up to yesterday,” Ginny said sheepishly. Hermione and Ginny stared at Emily with the deepest curiosity on their faces. Emily laughed at the two of them. “What do you think happened?” she asked them with an innocent look. She raised her eyebrows at them and they glanced at each other. “Well, things seem pretty serious between you and that Cody guy,” Hermione said quietly. “Yeah, what about my brother? You can date some other guy but not him?” Ginny accused.
Emily blushed, she wasn’t aware that Ginny was going to play the brother card. “It’s complicated, Gin.”
“Do you not want to be in our family?” she asked with a hurt look. “You know it’s not that!” Emily exclaimed, eyes going wide. “George and I, well, we’re best friends. And...and he doesn’t want to date me anymore, Gin. He’s with Angelina now.” Emily was close to tears, so she got out of bed and walked over to her wardrobe. “He doesn’t love her like he loves you, though,” said Hermione.
Emily did not want to be having this conversation with George’s little sister, friend or not. “It’s complicated, okay? Can we just drop it?”
“Are you and Cody together, together?” asked Ginny. She looked guilty of something and Emily finally realized that George had put her up to this. She was furious. “Tell your brother that if he wants to know what’s going on in my life, he can ask me himself,” Emily said coldly. “Wh...what?” Ginny asked. “Don’t play stupid, I’m not dumb. Conversation over, Ginny.” Emily grabbed some clean clothes and headed for the bathroom.
Emily was still pretty furious when she walked down the stairs to the common room. She looked up at the room when she reached the bottom step. She stopped muttering to herself and stared at the scene in front of her. George was standing by the fireplace, Fred and Lee nearby. Cody was standing ten feet in front of him. George was glaring at Cody while Cody just smirked. They seemed to be in some sort of argument. “Er...Good Morning?” Emily said cautiously.
George snapped his head up and glared at Emily. Cody just waved, as did Fred and Lee. George stomped his way over to her, getting into her face. “Can I talk to you?” he asked harshly. He looked around the room at the curious people, who were watching them intently. “Alone,” he added.
Emily just nodded. She couldn’t help but think about how cute he looked when he was mad. She smiled inwardly at the way his nostrils flared and how his eyes bored into hers. She just wanted to reach up on her toes and kiss the guy, but she restrained herself. Because he wasn’t hers anymore, maybe he never was.
George turned on his heel and walked over toward the portrait hole. Emily followed him enthusiastically. She glanced at Cody; he was no longer grinning. He seemed upset, like her accepting George’s invitation to talk insulted him or something. Slightly confused, she continued after George.
*Alrighty, that was just a litlle bit, but let me know watchya think

Hmm, I wonder what George has been saying? I can't blame George for being hurt. This is why you never jump into a relationship right after you've been hurt by someone you love. It always turns messy. Hope everything turns out ok. Let us know SOON ok?

Okay... So...er... Don't hate me too much okay... Here's part of the next part...
He was waiting in the hallway for her. “Is this private enough for you? Or would you like to find an empty classroom?” Emily asked.
Taking a deep breath, George turned toward the window that Emily had once looked out of. “What are you playing at with that Cody guy?” he asked quietly, staring out at their tree. I guess this is fine, she thought.
Emily hesitated in the hall and then took a few steps closer to him. “What are you playing at with Angelina?” she asked back.
George still wouldn’t face her. “I asked first.” “I think you already know the answer, partially anyway,” Emily said. George just nodded. “So you’re hanging out with him to make me jealous?” he asked. “Yes...and no,” she said. He turned to look at her then. “No? What could you possibly see in that guy? What is it about him that I don’t have, Ems?” Emily saw the pain in his features, in his eyes. She wanted to hug him, but she stood her ground. He was doing the same thing to her, and he did it first. Why should she feel guilty? “He was there for me yesterday, when you were with Angelina. He was somebody I could talk to. We are just friends, George. Did we try to make you jealous last night when we were saying goodnight? Yes. But only because I wanted to hurt you just like you hurt me,” Emily finished coldly. “Oh please, the way he looks at you. You are obviously more than a friend to him. Why can’t you open your eyes? Oh, but wait, I guess I forgot who I was talking to. You never open your eyes. You never open your heart,” George replied just as coldly. Emily had tears gushing down her cheeks now. “Why can’t you open your eyes, George Weasley? I wanted you forever and always and I came to tell you that, but no, the first bump in the road and you go running to some other girl! This is exactly what I didn’t want to happen! Us fighting and ruining everything,” Emily yelled at him. “What other choice did I have to make you see that we had to be together? Huh? I had to try to make you jealous so that you would realize we belong together,” he yelled back. “That makes no sense! Why couldn’t you just wait?”
“Waiting may have taken a lifetime. I’m not Nicholas Flamel, I only have one lifetime.”
“Or it would have taken a few minutes. As soon as you walked out of my life, I knew I made a mistake. As soon as I had turned you down, I knew I had made a mistake. I knew I had made a mistake when I ran away the first time.”
“So, why did you keep running?” “Because I was scared. Because that’s what I do. I run from my problems. I ran away from the Boggart. I ran away from Remus over the summer. I run from everything. But you were supposed to run after me! And when you didn’t...” Emily backed into the wall and slumped down to the floor. “I didn’t know you wanted me to,” George whispered. “Of course I wanted you to. But you didn’t, so it made me think that it couldn’t work out. That it wouldn’t work out. So I kept running. But then in the Shrieking Shack, when you ran, I went after you. And I found you with Angelina.”
“Emily...I didn’t...”
“It’s okay. Maybe this how it’s supposed to be. Maybe we should stay apart for a while. Like long distance friends,” Emily said sadly. “Emily, no, I don’t want that. I want you and only you. We can make this work out. We can make it.” George sat down beside her and took her hand. She squeezed it once and then let it go. “I’m not so sure we can, Georgie. Look at how much we’ve hurt each other. I’m sorry, but maybe this is how it’s truly meant to be.”
“I don’t believe that and neither do you,” George said. He grabbed her hand again, refusing to let it go. “George—”
“I’m not losing you again, Ems. It’s now or never,” George said seriously, gazing at her.
*dot dot dot... Sorry, but I thought a cliffie was right for this... Let me know watchya think

Emily, Of course I don't hate you! As far as what do I think? Well I've said before, I don't do well with this sort of thing. But, I will say that you write it very well. You really do make it feel like it's going on with one of my friends, and I wish I was really there to comfort Emily, and George. I think that being able to do that to your readers makes you a terrific writer. Keep up the good work. I'll still be reading. I have to know how this turns out. See I want Emily and George to become boy and girl friends. But then poor Angelina, and Cody. Maybe they can hook up. But, I don't think Angelina is his type. As long as everyone ends up happy, I'm good. I'll be watching for your next post.

Alrighty, I guess I'll let you know what happens between them, just , once again, don't hate me too much “I’m not losing you again, Ems. It’s now or never,” George said seriously, gazing at her.
Emily looked back at him. Why did she keep hesitating? This is what she wanted. She wanted him to be begging her to come back. She wanted him to get tired of the charade with Angelina. She wanted him for forever, didn’t she? So much had happened since she had walked in on him and Angelina. She kept thinking of the hurt look on Cody’s face when she went to talk to George. She thought about the tire swing that she had been so eager to get to today, the tree she could sit under for hours at time. But she had another tree like that. A tree that she had shared with the man who was holding her hand right now, waiting for her answer. She wasn’t sure of what to choose anymore. If she hadn’t met Cody, everything would be clear, but she had met Cody and everything wasn’t clear.
George’s brow started furrowing in frustration. He deserved an answer. He deserved so much more, but an answer at least. His grip was slacking and she knew he was starting to doubt her love for him. He let go of her hand completely. “I can’t believe this. You’re actually considering him, aren’t you?”
Emily didn’t answer or shake her head in any recognition. She just stared at George, tears spilling out of the corners of her eyes. “I’m done. We’re done, Emily Black,” George spat. “George, please,” Emily begged.
George jumped up from the ground and walked swiftly down the hall. Emily just stared at his back, watching him leave her again. She knew, then, that he would never speak to her again. They would no longer talk about Quidditch, classes, or pranks. They wouldn’t talk about the joke shop or their personal lives. She knew he was going to break his promise and not come with her to confront Remus about the journal. She knew he was now going to be a void in her life. He had said he would never give up on them; he lied. He was done waiting for her and he had every right to be. She had messed up, messed up bad time, and she knew it.
Emily buried her head in her knees and cried her heart out, her soul out. She didn’t know how much more she could take. She was already on the fine line. Anymore and she just might find herself back at La Push. And she knew that nobody would be coming to the rescue this time. She heard the portrait door swing open and footsteps filing out. They hesitated and then carried on down the hall, not coming over to her. She was glad. She didn’t want to see Fred, Lee, or Cody. She didn’t want to see Ginny scold her and Hermione frown at her. She didn’t want to see Ron and Harry’s faces of disappointment. She didn’t even want to see Sirius or Remus. She wanted to be alone, completely alone.
Emily listened to her beating heart. It was violently pumping against her chest. She felt the blood pulse through her veins. She felt like running away from this spot. Away from the place he had left her. She felt like she could run for miles on end. Emily was glad that she had decided to dress in tennis shoes and shorts this morning, so she wouldn’t have to go change. Wiping her tears, Emily stood. She slowly walked down the stairs and out into the fresh air. She headed for the lake, slowly at first, but then decided she couldn’t take the sluggishness any longer. She started to run, to really run.
Running was her favorite part of being an anamagi. She loved the wind lashing at her face and ruffling through her hair. She loved the feeling of nobody being able to touch her. She loved how her heart was beating too furiously for her to be able to think about anything except putting one foot in front of the other. Running was her escape.
Emily ran down to the outer edge of the lake and kept going. She ran all the way to the Quidditch pitch and back up to the castle. She ran around the green houses and by Hagrid’s Hut. Breathing heavily, Emily finally collapsed under their tree. She looked at the wood and found what she was looking for. Near the left of the trunk, at the bottom, was a carving of letters. George and her had been sitting under the tree the previous year. It was almost the end of the term, but Emily remembered it as if it were yesterday. “I’ll race you,” George said confidently. “Where to?” Emily asked. “How about to that tree? First to touch the trunk wins,” George grinned.
Emily and George were both sitting on their brooms. George had just finished his Quidditch practice and Emily had just been messing around. She glanced over at him; he seemed smug. Inwardly, she promised herself that she would wipe that smug expression right off of his face.
Emily nodded and leaned forward, bracing herself. “On three,” George said, also bracing himself. “One.”
“Two,” Emily whispered. “THREE!” they both shouted.
The two sped off on their brooms. They were neck and neck. Emily peeked at him from the corner of her eye. She didn’t like the fact that they were neck and neck. She pushed her broom even farther and sped ahead of George. She was almost there. George, getting frustrated, tried to push his Clean Sweep farther, but it just wouldn’t budge. Laughing, Emily slammed into the grass, rolled over, and touched the tree trunk. She looked back to find George landing softly on the ground. He smiled at her and Emily blushed. It’s just George, she chided herself. Your best friend! Why are you blushing? “I win,” Emily proclaimed. George grinned at her and plopped down beside her. “Whatever you say, Ems,” George said.
Emily huffed. “What exactly does that mean? Are you trying to say I didn’t win? Or that I cheated or something?” “No, no, of course not. You won fair and square.”
“Uh huh, and don’t you forget it!” Emily laughed and leaned back against the trunk.
Emily turned her head to face him. He glanced back. His smile seemed forced and she wasn’t sure why. “What’s wrong?” Emily asked. “Nothing,” George lied. “Hey, you know you’re my best friend, right? You can tell me anything,” Emily smiled reassuringly. “Fred and I, we have big plans. But our Mum, she wants us to go into the Ministry like our Dad. We don’t want to though. Our grades aren’t the greatest and she keeps getting onto us. She said if our O.W.L.S. and N.E.W.T.S. don’t pass her expectations then she’ll ground us forever and find some sort of tutor. She just doesn’t get it! We live for our jokes. We want to create a joke shop, but she thinks the idea itself is just a joke.”
“George, don’t worry about it. Ultimately, you have to do what makes you happy. She can’t keep you from your dreams. Just show her that you’re serious about the joke shop.”
George still looked a little worried, so Emily grabbed his hand and squeezed it gently. George smiled slightly. “Hey, listen. Anytime you’re feeling down, just come to this tree, our tree.”
Emily grabbed her wand from her pocket and turned around so that she was facing the tree. She gripped it tightly and pointed it at the bottom of the trunk. A blue light came from the tip and started carving letters. Emily kept carving until she finished. She pocketed her wand and admired her handy work. It said EB and GW, Best Friends Forever, with a smiley face at the end. George smiled at her and took her hand again. “Come here and remember that no matter what your decisions are, your best friends are behind you one-hundred percent,” Emily said. George nodded, staring at the carving.
Emily ran her hand over the carving. “You’re supposed to be behind me one-hundred percent,” she whispered, crying silently. She let her teardrops hit the grassy landscape. She clutched her stomach, as the hole in her chest ripped open. She laid her head back against the bark and let the pain take over. She silently watched as the sun came up in the sky. She ignored the people who filed out from breakfast. She ignored the lunch bell that came later. She ignored everything. She watched as the sun set and the moon appeared. It started pouring rain, but she didn’t flinch. She didn’t try to cover herself or seek shelter. She let the rain dampen her hair and clothes and cause chill bumps upon her arms. It didn’t matter to her any longer. She wasn’t sure how long she sat outside. She knew it was all day, but she didn’t care. She wasn’t sure how long she cried, nor did she care. She stared blankly at the moon. She heard grass crunch underneath someone’s squeaky sneakers. She didn’t look to see who had joined her. “Emily?” she faintly heard a male’s voice ask. She didn’t respond or show any kind of recognition. She continued to stare at the moon as the rain pounded down upon her and her visitor. “You’re going to get sick,” said the voice, sounding worried. She didn’t turn. “Can you hear me?” Still, no reaction. Finally deciding to take matters into his own hands, the man bent over her and wrapped his arms around her legs and shoulders. He picked her up and started back up the castle.

All right young lady! You best be planning on posting ...like right now! What's the meaning of posting that and leaving us the way you did?!?!?!?!?!?!?
OK, ranting like a spoiled little girl over now. You did very good with your writing. Quote:
“I can’t believe this. You’re actually considering him, aren’t you?”
Young love can be such a painful thing. But in his confusion, George isn't thinking clearly. It shouldn't matter who she is concidering. The thing he should be thinking on is if she is no longer cocidering him. And if she isn't then what is he going to do about it. Myself, I don't think George is being fair, or very mature. But, that's just me.
Her memory she was stuck in was very sweet. She'll always have that memory no matter who she ends up with.
I'm wondering who is carrying her up to the castle. I'm hoping you can post soon. I'll be watching.

Alrighty, here's the next post
Emily consciously heard voices around her before she was fully awake. She listened to their low, worried voices. “Why isn’t she waking up?” Remus asked Madam Pomfrey in hushed tones. “Please, Mr. Lupin, I’m sure she will come around soon,” the healer replied calmly. “Isn’t there anything you can do?” he asked. “I’m sorry, but I’ve already told you, I’ve done everything I can. I can’t do anything else until she wakes up.”
“Professor, I’m sure she’ll be fine,” said Fred. “Yeah, I’m sure she’ll wake up in no time,” agreed Cody. Cody was here? she asked herself. Emily tried to not move as much as possible so she could keep eavesdropping. It’s harder than you could imagine. She had to remind herself not to tense her muscles or wiggle her toes. Emily strained her ears to hear more. “What is taking so long?” Remus asked no one in particular. “I wish she’d hurry up,” whispered Ginny.
Everyone seemed to quiet down and she could feel their eyes on her, waiting for her to make some type of move. Deciding that she wasn’t going to hear much more, Emily started moving her toes and fingers. She stretched her arms slightly. Everyone seemed to hold their breaths in the room. “Emily?” Remus exclaimed. “Rem? Is that you?” Emily croaked. Her voice sounded horrible and nasally. “I’m here, baby. It’s okay. Don’t strain yourself. Just rest.” Emily opened her eyes a fraction and squinted at the bright light. She groaned. “What? What hurts?” Remus asked her franticly. Emily turned over on her side, and propped herself on her arm. “Why am I in the Hospital Wing?” Emily asked. “You couldn’t even talk when you were brought in. You didn’t eat anything yesterday. You were out in the rain for a long time too. When he brought you in, all you did was stare off into space. Cody said you wouldn’t even answer him or acknowledge him. He didn’t know what else to do. So, he brought you to the infirmary and sent word to me. What were you thinking, Emily? Are you mental?”
“I was thinking of La Push,” Emily said quietly. She didn’t look up to see their expressions or to see if they understood. She just rolled over on her bed and stared at a crack in the wall. “Wha...what do you mean you were thinking of La Push? Like over the summer La Push? The plans you had or what actually happened?” Remus asked, shakily.
Emily said nothing. She ignored everyone. She wasn’t in the mood to be judged. She heard Remus breathing heavily and silently prayed that he would not start what she had a feeling he was about to start. “Bloody hell, Emily James Remus Amelia Sirius Black! What in the name of Merlin is the matter with you? Turn around when I am talking to you, young lady!” Remus screamed at her. Emily could imagine the color of his face turning red, really red. She could imagine the vein in his neck popping out. She had only seen him like this one other time, and she had never wanted to see it again. She didn’t turn to face him. She didn’t show him any kind of recognition. She could tell that the others were all holding their breaths, waiting for her reaction.
Emily stared at the crack in the wall, as if waiting on something to pop through it. She let her tears stain the bed sheets and the pain in her heart wash through her. She listened to the fading footsteps of her friends and her Godfather. That night, Emily still watched that crack. A million memories drifted in and out of her thoughts. All of George, Fred, Remus, Ginny—everyone she loved.
Emily heard the infirmary doors open and wondered who came through it. She listened to the shoes grow heavier until they stopped, a few steps away from her bed. She didn’t roll over. “What are you doing to yourself, Ems?” a voice asked quietly. Emily’s tears started almost immediately at the sound of the voice. She would know that voice anywhere, anytime.

I guess you could say it's my fatal flaw. I've always been self conscience of my writing and not much confidence in it, but thank you

Alrighty, here's the new post Enjoy! “Don’t pretend you’re asleep or that you can’t hear me. You can’t fool me,” George whispered. She could ignore everyone all she ever wanted, but this was the one person she would never ignore, the one person she couldn’t ignore. Rolling over slowly, she looked up at him. “I thought you didn’t care,” she whispered, not meeting his eyes. George’s hands were in his pockets and he shuffled his feet awkwardly. “Why are you making yourself sick, Ems?” he asked, ignoring her accusation. “Because I felt like it. Do you even care?”
“You have to stop this. All of it. Remus told me what you said, about La Push, I mean. How can you even think about that stuff again?”
“Just errant thoughts,” she responded. “Is that why you’re here? A favor to Remus? What? Was he going to fail you if you didn’t come?” Emily sat up in her bed and threw her legs over the side. “You know it’s not like that,” he said quietly. “Do I?”
“Emily, please.”
“Please what, George?” “Look, I’m not going to cut around the bush. I...er...asked Angelina out. I...I like her. I don’t know if it’s going anywhere or how long it will last, but I think that’s what we need. Time away from each other. You, and me that is. I’ll always care about you and love you, but I feel like we’ll only hurt each other more if we don’t spend time apart. Just promise me something, please.” George looked at her, his eyes boring into her face, but she still wouldn’t look up into his smoldering eyes. “Promise me, you won’t hurt yourself and that you’ll try to find happiness.” Emily let her tears fall, not caring that he could see. “For your friends and yourself, Emily,” George explained. She wasn’t sure if he included himself in her friends anymore. There was a time when she was absolutely positive and sure about her friendship with George, but now it was falling to pieces. “Right,” Emily whispered. “I’ll try my best, but if you’ll excuse me, I need to get some rest and visiting hours are over.” Emily made the mistake of looking up into those eyes that stole her heart away all over again. She looked away quickly, not wanting him to see her completely break down. “Emily, I—” he started. “Please leave,” she whispered more firmly.
George hesitated and then turned on the spot and walked out of the infirmary. Away from the girl he loved. Away from the girl who was falling to pieces for everyone to see. He walked away from the one person that he knew deep down he couldn’t live without. George let a few of his own tears fall down his cheeks. He stopped a little ways down the hall from the entrance to the Hospital Wing. He leaned up against the wall and clutched his stomach. Right then, he promised himself he would let Emily live her own life and stop interfering. If Cody was what she wanted, then he wouldn’t stop her. He would let her be happy and maybe, in his own time, he could be happy too.
Emily wiped her tears and thought about what George had said. He was with Angelina, and he was happy, maybe. Emily turned around and found her crack. She gave it a pained look and then said, “Goodbye, my friend. Thanks for keeping me company, but I think it’s time for me to go. I have a few apologies and thanks to give out.” Emily felt slightly dumb talking to the wall, but she no longer cared. Emily, as quietly as she could, changed into her shorts and T-shirt from the day before. She slipped her feet into her sneakers and laced them up. Emily pulled the curtain closed around her bed, hoping it would fool Madam Pomfrey into thinking she didn’t want to be bothered, and made her way to the door.
Thinking of whom she needed to talk to first, she slowly walked down the empty corridor. She turned left and continued down a narrow passageway. It was one of the many short cuts she had learned from the Marauder’s Map. She stopped short at the wooden door. She was about to knock, but then she hesitated. You can do this. He’s not going to bite you, Emily thought to herself. It’s not like it’s the full moon. Taking a deep breath, Emily knocked lightly on the door. She waited for his response. “I’m busy, please come back later,” said a pained voice from the other side of the door.
Emily sighed and opened the door anyway. “I said I was bu—” Remus stopped and stared at her. “Oh, it’s you. Shouldn’t you be in the infirmary?” he asked. He could barely look at her. “Yes, probably. But, I didn’t feel like staying, so here I am,” Emily said quietly. She moved farther into the room and shut the door behind her. They stared at each other in complete silence for a few minutes. “I...I’m sorry, Rems. I know I shouldn’t have said what I said and I shouldn’t have ignored you.” Remus didn’t answer. “I didn’t mean it, about La Push, I mean.”
“Yes, you did,” he said quietly. Remus slouched down in the chair he had vacated. “I don’t anymore,” she replied. He nodded. “I was hurt. I was being selfish. I...I...I’m sorry.”
The silence between them continued. “What’s been going on, Ems?” he asked. “Where should I start?”
“What’s going on between you and George?” Remus asked.
Emily flinched. This was the discussion she was dreading the most. Emily sighed and slid into a chair near Remus. “Well, he told me he loved me,” Emily said quietly. “That’s good, isn’t it? I know you like him,” Remus smiled. “Well, that’s just it. I love him too, but I didn’t want to ruin our friendship, so I turned him down. Three times.”
“Wow. Really?”
Emily nodded. “He’s...er...dating Angelina now.”
“Well, he didn’t wait long, huh?”
“Remus, please.”
“Sorry.”
“Right, well, I made a new friend too.”
“Oh, who?” Remus asked. “His name is Cody, but we’re just friends...for now, anyway.” Emily sighed. “Ah, right. So, do you like him?”
“I’m not really in the mood for this talk right now, Rem,” Emily said. “Right, well you better get in the mood,” Remus chuckled.
Emily and Remus talked through the night. They talked about George, Fred, Cody, and Ginny. Remus listened to Emily, not saying much in between. Emily stayed far away from the subject of Sirius, not quite ready for that conversation. Seeing that it was nearly midnight, they parted ways, Emily going to her common room.
Emily sighed as she stepped over the threshold of the Gryffindor Common Room. She was hoping that, since it was late, nobody would be there. Unfortunately her hopes were crushed when she rounded the corner. By the fire, in one of the more comfortable chairs sat Cody. He was staring at the fire as if it were a movie. Hearing her come in, he glanced behind him. “Hi,” he said quietly, motioning toward the chair in front of him. “Hi,” Emily replied, making her way over to the chair near the fireplace. “How are you feeling?” he asked. “I’m all right, thanks to you. Thank you, for bringing me in and everything,” Emily said, her ears slightly turning red. “All I did was carry you inside,” replied Cody, going slightly red. “You know it’s more than that. I owe you one,” said Emily. “I guess I’ll have to think of something good for payment.” Cody smirked. “Well, let me know what you decide,” laughed Emily. “I’m beat, so I’m going to turn in, but I’ll catch up with you tomorrow,” said Emily, yawning. “Looking forward to it,” Cody replied.
Emily headed upstairs, smiling despite all of what had happened in the past few days.
On her bed, was a tray of food and some pumpkin juice. She headed over to it, feeling completely warm about the food that she was about to devour. Propped up against her juice was an envelope. Emily,
I know you must be starving. I asked a favor of Dobby, and he sent you some food with my note attached. Sleep well, Ems and enjoy your personal buffet.
I'll meet you under the moon,
Rems
Emily smiled and whispered, "Meet you under the moon."
*And end scene That is the end of Chapter three and I think Emily and George needed closure... For now at least :evillaugh Let me know watchya think
