The summer before her sixth year at Hogwarts was quite joyful for Emily. The engagement to George came with a lot of planning. Emily spent most of her time with Mrs. Weasley, Tonks, and Ginny, planning the whole thing. Dumbledore told them they could have the wedding on the Hogwarts grounds before term started. So, Emily and George were focused on an August wedding.

She had picked out the dresses, the flowers, the food—everything. All she had left was to write her vows. But every time she tried to write them down on paper, they sounded dumb. Through the grapevine, she heard that George’s vows were finished, which made her even more nervous. How was it going to look when his vows were amazing and hers were dreadful?

It was the night before the wedding when she really started panicking. She was staying with Remus at their cottage near the beach. She was sitting in the living room, a pen in her fingers and pad on her lap, as she stared blankly at it. Ginny and Hermione were sitting on the couch, watching TV as she had a silent panic attack. Remus walked in and pulled a chair over to her. He pulled her legs onto his lap like he did when she was a little girl and massaged her feet.

“Stop stressing,” Remus said. Hermione and Ginny looked over at her, grinning.

“I can’t help it. Hermione, you burned the CDs, right?” she asked. Hermione nodded with the roll of her eyes. “Why can’t I think of anything to say? Maybe I don’t love him as much as I thought I did. What if I break his heart? What if—” she started rambling.

“Ems, cut it out. You are in love with George. And your vows will come to you if you stop freaking out. Stressing yourself out isn’t going to get you anywhere except with worry lines etched into your forehead,” Remus said. Emily chuckled lightly.

“I guess you’re right, Rems. I just want it to be perfect,” she sighed.

“Perfection doesn’t come from the words, Ems. It has more to do with the two people that are madly in love. Stop worrying and let the words flow from your heart,” he whispered.

Emily nodded, sucking on the tip of her pen. She closed her eyes and put her hand against her heart. Emily thought about every moment she’s shared with George. She thought of their conversations, laughs, and arguments. Emily thought about the way his touch makes her go weak in the knees. She thought about the way his smile made her heart beat faster, and his love made her lose everything. She thought about the way his kisses made her heart melt. Remus was right—she was madly in love with George and nothing could ever change it. He was hers and she was his—the way it was meant to be. Emily’s eyes snapped open and her pen started writing.


Emily was inside the tent that Dumbledore and McGonagall had set up. The men had one, on one side of the lake, and the women had one, on the opposite side. Emily stared into the mirror with a smile upon her face. All of the bridesmaids were strapping on their shoes and doing last minute touch ups. Emily curled a lone strand of her hair with her finger.

“Perfect,” Remus whispered from behind her. Her head snapped around to him.

“Rems,” she said as she jumped to him, throwing her arms around his middle.

“No tears yet, Ems, you don’t want to cry off your mask,” Remus chuckled.

“So, how do I look?” she asked as she stepped back from him. He surveyed her, looking her up and down, before his eyes rested on hers.

“Perfect,” he whispered. Emily smiled as he wiped away a tear from his eye. “It’s about time to get this show on the road,” he said loudly.

Ginny came up to Emily and handed her Emily’s flowers. They were white lilies with roses that were magically died sea green to match the sash around Emily’s waist, the Bridesmaid dresses, and the groomsmen’s vests. Emily took them with a smile.

“Thanks, Gin,” she said.

“Anytime, sis,” Ginny replied with a grin.

Ginny’s hair was pulled up into a tight bun, as were all of the other girls’. Her dress was like all of the others, except that hers had a sash similar to Emily’s. The only difference was that Ginny’s sash was white. The dresses were sea green, all spaghetti straps. They were form fitting around the abdomen, with a loose drop. They were all wearing white ballet flats to match and a white lily tucked into their buns. Emily smiled as all of her bridesmaids lined up—McGonagall, Luna, and Katie, followed by Hermione and Tonks. Ginny lined up last. And then it was Emily and Remus.

Emily looked stunning in her strapless ball gown. It fluffed out below her waist, but only slightly. It was pure white except for the sash that wrapped around her abdomen. The sash connected with a lily-white flower in the front. Her hair was in loose curls, weighing down on her shoulders. Her bangs were side swept and bobby pinned to the side except for that one curl that didn’t like to cooperate. Remus and Ginny helped her put on her veil. It was all white silk and stopped right below her shoulders. She and George had decided a while back that she wouldn’t wear it over her face because he didn’t want her face covered. Remus held his arm out for her and she took it. He looked dashing in his black, wizarding dress robes. His vest was sea green and it made his eyes pop out beautifully.

“Are you ready?” he whispered.

Emily nodded faintly. “Don’t worry, Ems, you’ll be with George soon enough,” Ginny said. That comment had everybody chuckling, even the bride.

Emily watched as the flower girl, who was the Morgan’s daughter, Allison, and the ring bearer, who was a younger cousin of George’s, walk down the aisle, hand in hand. She smiled brightly at the two. Then, she watched as her bridesmaids left their tent and met in the middle of the back of the marquee with the groomsmen. McGonagall met up with Bill as Harry met up with Luna. Katie and Lee met up, which Emily knew Lee would be happy about since he still had a crush on her. Hermione and Ron joined arms followed shortly by Tonks and Charlie. Tonks tripped over a rock and Charlie caught her before she could fall. Emily sniggered silently. Last, but not least, Ginny and Fred joined arms and walked towards the altar, splitting at the last second to stand on either side.

Before she knew it, Remus was tugging on her arm to tell her that it was her turn. She glanced at him briefly before they started walking down the grassy path. She glanced at the white chairs that were lined up to hold their families and friends. On the end of each row was a basket of sea green roses and white lilies, to match her bouquet. She looked up and met George’s eyes. Standing beneath their tree, right beside their names, he grinned broadly at her and she grinned back. Without even realizing it, her tears were released, making paths down her cheeks.

Hello Emily. I'm back, now for the fifth time. I've been trying to finish and comment ever sense you first posted. Sophie did a tremendous job on her comment, and there's not anything I disagree with what she said, so, what she say's goes for me too. I love Remus! Isn't he the greatest?! I can't wait to hear the vows. And how oh how! could George do his so quickly?!
You wrote this almost to the T as to how it was with my daughter's wedding, when Steve walked her down the isle. You wasn't there was you? Stephanie's Matron of Honor had to keep slippng her tissues during the ceremony too. Great post Emily!!!!!!!!!!! I'll be watching for your next post.

New post time! This is the second half of the wedding The next post will be the reception.

Emily and Remus walked down the aisle to the song L-O-V-E- by Nat King Cole. It was one of her favorite songs and she decided that she would rather have it instead of the traditional wedding march. Emily’s eyes were only for George as she walked towards him. She didn’t realize that everyone was standing. She didn’t realize that Remus was kissing her cheek and leaving to sit in the front row on the bride’s side. She didn’t realize that Ginny had taken her flowers. She didn’t realize what the Minister was wearing or saying. All of her surroundings were a blur compared to the red haired, grinning man that was standing in front of her, holding her hands in his. George winked at her and she blushed. He chuckled soundlessly at her.

“Do you, Emily James Remus Amelia Sirius Black, take George Weasley to be your lawfully wedded husband until death may do you part?” the Minister asked.

“I do,” Emily said barely above a whisper as she slipped his silver wedding band on his finger, the lone diamond in the middle glinting in the sun.

“And do you, George Weasley, take Emily James Remus Amelia Sirius Black as your lawfully wedded wife until death may do you part?” the Minister asked George.

“I do,” he said loudly as he placed her diamond wedding band around her finger, right next to her mother’s engagement ring. Fred and Lee chuckled, as did a few of the guests.

“I believe you both have written your own vows to each other. Whenever you are ready, Emily,” the Minister smiled at her.

Emily took a big breath and nodded. She stared deep into George’s liquid, brown eyes and smiled. “I spent so many nights thinking of what to say to you, Georgie,” she said quietly. “I love you so much. I guess the saying you have to slay a couple of dragons before you get to the prince really was true. You’re my prince charming, the love of my life.” Emily smiled broadly. “Love is just a word until you find someone to give it a definition. And that’s what you did—you gave me a definition. I love the way you can make me smile. I love how with one look from you, I go completely weak at the knees and my heart starts fluttering. I love how your touch sends an electric shock straight to my heart. I love how you can walk in a room and my stomach clenches up, releasing every butterfly ever created. I love how you can make my heart beat fast and slow at the same time. And I love it, when in the middle of our kisses, I can feel you smiling.” Emily paused as she squeezed George’s fingertips.

“I’ve spent my whole life searching for forever and always, and about six years ago—I found it. And I knew that when I etched our names in this tree, I would be making an everlasting promise and vow to you that I will be there for you until the end of time. I’ll be the person you tell your secrets to, the one you laugh with, joke with, and cry with. I vow to be your best friend until the very end. And I want to be the only hand you’ll ever need to hold,” she said as she held onto his hand, tears brushing her jaw line. “When you proposed to me, you asked me to spend forever and always in your arms, and I vow to you that until our forever ends, I will love you, Georgie,” Emily whispered in a strangled sob. Her tears flowed endlessly. George squeezed her fingertips.

“Emily James Remus Amelia Sirius Black, I love you so much. Someone once told me to never give up on someone you can’t go a day without thinking about. And I’m glad I didn’t because then I wouldn’t be standing here, across from the most beautiful thing in my world. The best and most beautiful things in this world cannot be seen or touched—they must be felt with the heart,” George said as he brought Emily’s hands to his own heart and held them there.

“Love is like a war; easy to begin, hard to end. So, baby, thank you for starting this war with me, and I hope that it never ends. I promise that I’ll always be beside you until the very end, wiping all your tears away, being your best friend. I’ll smile when you smile and feel all the pain you do. And if you cry a single tear, I promise I’ll cry too. Every day I spend with you is the new best day of my life. And at the end of it, I want you and only you. We must find the magic that makes our souls soar. You’re that magic, Ems. So kiss me and smile for me. Hold me like you’ll never let me go, take my hand and take my whole life too, because I couldn’t help falling in love with you. I vow to love you forever and always, Ems. My life is empty without you.” George nodded his head to Fred, who pulled out his wand and pointed it to the radio that was sitting at the trunk of Emily and George’s tree. Music filled the air, playing a sweet melody.

George pulled Emily closer to him and caressed her cheek with the back of his hand. His eyes held hers until he turned his head and kissed her passionately as husband and wife. Everyone around them cheered, clapped, and whistled.

George and Emily parted lips as George wrapped his arms around her waist. “Ready to face the music?” he whispered in her ear. She giggled, but nodded.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to present to you Mr. and Mrs. George Weasley,” the Minister announced loudly over the music.

Emily and George held hands as they walked down the aisle of their friends and families. Remus kissed Emily’s cheek and gave George a hug. The original Mr. and Mrs. Weasley gave them both hugs. As they walked down the aisle, Emily knew that no matter what happened in the future, no matter what battle was going on, that from this moment on, they would be doing it together.

And yeah, the words in George's vow is a song. I actually think it's two songs put together. The first part "So kiss me and smile for me.
