In her four years in Hogwarts, it was safe to say that she had never been to the terraces before. She didn't spend a lot of time in the greenhouse, and so, it isn't so surprising that she didn't know about this charming little place in the castle till now.

Cass then sat down on one of the chairs around the place and took a deep breath. Wow, she never realized how the cool air felt so good when you were trying to convince yourself that you didn't like a certain Gryffindor.

Then she brought out her book - another tool of distraction - and opened to the page where she had folded the corner. Ah, this was more like it. Nothing like a morning spent reading a book.

Fee made her way to the Greenhouses.She'd never payed much attention to them but now seemed to be the time to get every single detail about Hogwarts.After being sick for such a long time it felt incredeble to just walk around and breath in the fresh air around her.

Since the blonde had no idea where to go here she sighed a little.Why hadnt she been here earlier?After all she had four years to explore.Seemed like no one could ever find out every single detail about Hogwarts. Looking up the Slytherin noticed a terrace over her and smiled a bit.Now that would be a nice place to stay for a bit and maybe listen to music.

Making her way up there the fourth year noticed someone else had found their way here.Well some company was always nice.Approaching a wide smile spread on the Snake's face as she noticed who was sitting there. Grinning like a mad woman the girl plopped down next to the other blonde."Hi bestie",she said happily,"i missed you."

At the sound of footsteps shattering the stillness of the greenhouse, Cass looked up curiously and smiled brightly at the person who was now standing in front of her.

"FEE!" The fourth year squealed happily as she set her book down on the table, folding the the corner to where she last was, then launching herself on her best friend "OH.MY.GOSH." She exclaimed "I've missed you! What happened to you??"

Then she released the blonde from the tight hug and stepped back to smile at her brightly. Merlin, she missed her best friend.

Marilyn had yet to meet his eyes...and once she heard what he had to say...Well, the blonde was more than glad she hadn't. Shock had registered first...but then hurt...

Lots of hurt.

She told him she was doubting herself and he says this? Marilyn was just trying to be honest with him about how she was feeling...and saying that was what he'd come up with?

There was no doubt that things had shifted in this conversation...drastically. Carter was saying everything she feared he would. The blonde was sure this was just him being polite. If the Slytherin would have been smart, she'd have walked away when Rafe told her...What he'd told her that night.

It was a truly awful thing to care so deeply about someone she felt deep down would never feel the same. *cough* Right...

So, this was how it was going to be...

It had been a while since Marilyn had used any type of emotional mask...but that didn't mean she had lost her touch. She could literally feel all the pain and hurt leaving her face...Only to be locked up, deep down...Much like she shut and sealed off everything else.

He was leaving? No...

"No..." Her tone was...a bit off even to her own ears. Oh well..."You've brought food out and everything else. I'll go." The blonde stood to leave, well aware that she wasn't addressing anything he had said. She needed to seek refuge in her House...Maybe have a good cry...before she begin thinking about this mess.

Truth be told, what the Slytherin really wanted to do was to hurt someone...but she wouldn't. She just wasn't that type of girl anymore.

Grinning like a mad woman the Slytherin hugged her best friend.She had never felt so happy.Seriously being without her best friend was the worst thing that had ever happened to her.The girl as so happy that it was over now.

Releasing the other fourth year from her embrace the 15 year old smiled big."I missed you too",she nodded,"i cant believe how long we havent seen eachother."Sometimes life played not so nice tricks on you and timwe flew by."I was sick",the girl sighed,"what happend to you girlie?"Even though they were in the same house they hadnt seen eachother for ages. Bad illness.

"Absolutely!" Cass gushed. A girl can only take so long without her best friend by her side. Especially now. "I'm really sorry for infecting you with whatever I was sick with..." Seriously, now she felt all guilty...

Then she sighed. "Oh, you missed a lot." Cass said with a frown as she leaned back against her chair, thinking of the past months...the drama with Jonathan and Kurumi and the confusion - again! - with Christopher.

Fee just hugged her bestie and chuckled."You shouldnt be sorry",the girl shook her head,"its my fault for sticking around you all the time."Of course that was a joke,every minute spend with Cass was worth it.Waht would the Slytherin do without her ?!

Oh my glitter,this didnt sound good.What had she missed?What had happend?If someone broke Cass' heard the fourth year would break other things... "Tell me everything",the 15 year old smiled and leaned back,ready to take in everything.

"Well, then, you can't tell me that I didn't warn you. Because I did." Cass said with a laugh "Over and over again." Seriously, she did try to kick her out, but the blonde was just too persistent, not that she didn't find it sweet though.

"Well, two things." Cass started "But their both incredibly long stories." Then she closed her eyes for a moment as she tried to decide which one to tell first.

"Ok, the first one...Jonathan, remember him? Yeah. He uh..dumped me for Kurumi.." Cass admitted, her hazel eyes downcast, sure she and Kurumi - and even Jonathan, sort of - were fine now, it still hurt. If not her heart, then her ego. Then she glanced up and Fee before continuing "But, we talked about it, and well, he apologized and explained himself, but still...yeah."
She seriously had trouble forming her thoughts into words today. Maybe because it was just too early? She wasn't sure.

"The second one is that...I think I still like Christopher." The blonde said with a grim expression on her face. It wasn't as if it was a bad thing to like him, he's a perfectly fine bloke - well, if she was going to be honest with herself, he was an awesome person, but she wasn't about to admit that, she was already having trouble stopping herself from doodling his name all over her journal. "But, I'm still not sure if he likes me back..." He did make it pretty clear last term that he only thought of her as a friend...and to be frank, his sister sort of scared him too.

It wasn't much to go on. But knowing Fee, she would already know the whole story, just by looking at her.

Fee leant back in hair chair and waited for her best friend to start.She seemed to be really serious about the following and the blonde began to wonder what had happened. As Cass carried on with her story the Slytherin's eyes grew wider and wider.Why would someone dump her for someone else? Ara Cassandra Prewett was perfect and everybody knew it. Without saying a word the fourth year hugged her best friend."Oh my god Cassie",she breathed,"i am so sorry."This was so wrong. So, so wrong. The worst was that Fee hadnt been there for her bestie when she needed her.Ugh.

"I dont understand any of this",the girl shook her head,"seriously,i like Kurumi but Jonathan must be sick for choosing her over you." Of course that was the first thought of Fee,her best friend was the prettiest girl in the world.At least it seemed as if Cass wasnt that hurt about getting dumped,even though Fee knew that she just didnt want to admit it."He doesnt deserve you anyway",the fourth year winked,"if he cant see how wonderful you are he would have been a waste of time."


Oh wait,now it was about Christopher?The 15 year old had just met up him a few days ago.This topic was going on for more than a year now.When would the two finally find eachother?Siiigh."What makes you so sure that he doesnt like you back?",the girl shook her head,"you are beautiful,have a great personality and all in all every guy would be lucky to call you his." A lot of stuff had happened between the two but it was so obvious that there were feelings involved."Did you meet up with him lately?",the girl asked raising her eyebrows,"you cant always play safe.You need to risk something sometimes.Go for it love."

"I'm not." Cass said with a finality as she took her book in her hands and started playing with the pages. "I mean, sure I'm sad that he's gone, but I guess it was for the best, after all, if he wasn't you know, happy with me, then, at least he found someone he could be happy with." It was her ego that she was worried about. her heart? Not so much. It was sort of made of ice now.

Then she laughed "Thanks for the vote of confidence darling, but I really do think Kurumi is eons better." The blonde Slytherin said as she tucked her feet underneath her. "Besides, I'm not blaming anyone, and I don't particularly care." Then she waved an airy hand and yawned carelessly, the perfect picture of a Slytherin who didn't care. The perfect mask that she wanted to display.

"Well, he just broke up with his girlfriend..." Cass said, now casting her eyes downward to avoid Fee's penetrating gaze. Psh, of course, five months wasn't such a long time...but still, she didn't want to push it. "And I don't know if he really has gotten over her." The last time she thought she had a chance against the Hufflepuff, she ended up breaking her own heart. Then she suddenly laughed "That was the same thing he said." The blonde said with a soft smile as she recalled their conversation at the observatory, referring to Fee's speech about her being a beautiful young lady and all that....Then she nodded once more "Yup. We spent the morning at the observatory." She admitted "I wasn't expecting to see him up there though. I just came up there to think things through, and there he was." Looking as handsome as ever. ARGH. Cass, stop. Don't get ahead of yourself. You're starting to look mental! Then she sighed sadly "I know, but really hun. You know Slytherins aren't always known for being risk-takers and well...I don't know if I want to risk it. I don't want to get hurt. Again."

Fee just sighed and shook her head."thats really humble of you to say that",the girl said,"but love i know its not done like that.I know YOU."Even thought it seemed like the Slytherin didnt really mind the blonde knew it was something going on.She knew her best friend to well,not to notice.

Not like she really cared?Ohh come one,that was such a false statement.Sitting there the fourth year just sighed and looked at her best friend."You cant kid me Cassandra",Fee said,"i know you for four years and you've been my best friend since i set a food into the Girls dorm.You sleep next to me and i know you a lot better than you think."Why did the other Slytherin try to hide her real emotions?They were best friends,the girl saw right through her."You do care",the 15 year old stated,"you are just too afraid to let it show.But you know you dont have to hide from me."Goosh,what mess Jonathan had created with this.Guys were just too complicated for the world.

He had just broken up with his girlfriend?Christopher had been taken?Woah Fee had missed out on something big time."But love there has to be a reason why they broke up",the girl nodded,"and thats in the past.You cant find out if he is over her if you dont make a move."The blonde wasnt going to lie she wasnt a girl to make the first move either,but this was a specific case in which Cass should make the first move.For real."See,he doesnt tell you you are beautiful and gorgeous and great when he feels nothing for you",she shook her head,"open your eyes. And the observatory is kinda a romantic place."No one sat up there with someone random just chatting it away.Therefor where other places.Slytherins werent known to be the ones to take risks but sometimes you had to break out of your house shell and discover new things."This is about our house,Cass",the fourth year sighed,"this is about your happiness,your future and what you ant.And you want him."

"Humility is my middle name." Cass said dryly as she cracked a smile, but sobered up quickly. Then she chuckled and sighed "Yeah, I know you know me, Fee. That's why you always seem to know what's going on with me."

Her hazel eyes then widened for a moment when Fee used her whole name. Well, part of it. She never called her Cassandra! Never! And now, here she was, calling her Cassandra, it was weird, and yet sort of a wake up call at the same time. Then she smiled, who knew this was what she needed? A good scolding, and a frank speech. Towards the end of Fee's speech, the smile that had built up on her face slid down slowly with each word until she was left with the frown that she had been wearing earlier. "I know I care." Cass said as she pulled her knees up to her chest - thankful that she wore pants for that day - and buried her face within it, using her long hair as some sort of a curtain. Then she took a deep breath, holding back the tears that were threatening to fall down once again. Merlin, she had been crying a lot these days! It was tiring, she was acting like a bloody puff. "I don't want to get hurt again, Fee." She explained. Then she looked up, her eyes shining with unshed tears and continued "Why does this keep happening to me?! First year, Second year, third year had been the worse so far, but now fourth year just topped it all off." Then she rubbed away the tears from her eyes angrily with a hurried swipe of her arm and said "Am I seriously that unlovable?"

Then she took deep breaths, calming herself down as she did so. The blonde then took her handkerchief and wiped her eyes delicately before casting a quick charm to hide the swollen eyes. "They broke up because of a hate potion." Cass explained offhandedly "And other stuff.." She didn't know if it would be alright to tell Fee about Nathan, but then, it wasn't her story to tell and well, she had no right to tell her. Then she frowned ."I know I want him, Fee" Cass explained, messing up her already messy blonde hair again "I've known that since I met him way back when we first talked to one another at the Whomping Willow" Then she frowned as she held the tears back once more "But he seems to be the single thing that I can never have." No amount of galloens can ever get him for her. Even if she emptied all of their vaults in Gringgots.

Carter stopped when Marilyn spoke up. She sounded... tense. Which, Carter could understand. He did just drop a bit of a bombshell on her.

So much for a Happy Valentine's Day, huh?

He waved his hand to decline. "Nah. Not hungry." he said. Then he turned and left.

Yup. Carter was not hungry. That didn't happen very often.

Katie looked up from her book raising her eyebrow at him, well, it was good while it lasted, she closed her book and placed it on her lap.

"Go ahead" She smiled, pushing some of her blonde hair back behind her ear as it was bugging her. "I'm Katelyn Star by the way, call me Katie though, everyone does" The Slytherin said extending her hand for him to shake, or ignore, whatever Katie doesn't care. The blonde looked down at his robes and saw he was a Hufflepuff, just like her sister, maybe they knew each other?

Fee just chuckled a little at Cass' comment.Of course she knew her well enough to look into her soul.Sometimes her best friend was such a dry person."You know,love,you dont have to hide anything from me",the blonde smiled sweetly,"i mean come one what are best friends for?"

The Slytherin couldnt help but hug her best friend again as she saw the former smile on her face fade and being replaced by the frown again.This really seemed to get to her and their was no way Fee would let her go like this.Seriously.Sighing heavily the fourth year put some strands of Cass' hair behind her ear and wiped away a lose tear running down her cheek."You are not unlovable",the girl shook her head,"you are lovely and gorgeous and a great friend.You just happen to fall for the wrong guys." That really seemed to be the big problem off all of this.The guys in Cass' life."Listen to me love,its not you who is wrong in this story",the girl lead down her head on her best friends shoulder,"the people you choose are too blind to see.They are not worth your time or tears.You deserve only the best."And the best would be coming,maybe even sooner than the Slytherin thought.You could never know."Dont let it get you down",she rubbed her besties arm,"the best will come.Just dont pressure yourself into something that doesnt make you happy."Sometimes people were to stupid to see who was right for you and unfortunately you had to wait way to long for your Prince Charming.

They broke up because of an hate potion?That sounded sooo wrong in Fee's head but she wasnt going to say anything.It wasnt her business why they broke up and how it cant to that love potion. "Now you listen to me okay?",the girl said looking straight in the blondes eyes,"i know you want him and you know you want him.Its not some stupid little crush.This is serious and you should go for it."The 15 year old didnt take it easy saying things like this but what had to be said had to be said."If you are going to sit here and cry about how you cant have him when you didnt even try to make a move you will never find out if he feels something for you."That might sounded harsh but the Slytherin really hoped Cass got what she wanted to say.It was really important."If he doesnt feel something for you,you at least know and can put an end to this."

"I wasn't hiding." She joked as she rolled her eyes. It was so painfully obvious that she was though, but she learned long ago never to admit anything. Of course, Fee was a huge exception to the rule. "But seriously though, even if I kept my mouth shut, you would have found out somehow."

The blonde wrapped her arms around herself and blew a stray strand of blonde hair away from her face before she glared at the table, concentrating on it instead of the current conversation. "It takes two to tango, darling." She said, uttering the muggle phrase "Like how there must be something wrong with one or the other." Then she blew out another breath of cold air before adding "And I don't see them all alone in life, so it must be me who's at fault somehow." Then she waved airily once more and rolled her hazel eyes "It doesn't matter now though, whatever." ...but she knew, the more she brushed it off, it was just going to get worse...oh well. Too late to care about that.

She smiled softly as she watched Fee talk, trying to explain to her that it wasn't her fault and all that, that she deserved better, as she tried to cheer her up. But something inside her couldn't help but wonder if Fee really understood what she meant. Did she understand how painful it was to repeatedly have 'someone who got away', to have that on a yearly basis? To watch them move on and have happy relationships, while she just stood there, lonely as ever? But, of course, she wasn't going to say that out loud, she wasn't even going to admit it. As far as she was concerned, it was simply an errant thought something that shouldn't be pondered over. Besides, she really did appreciate the effort.

When Fee finished, she kept the small smile in place as she tried to think of what to say. It had been a long tirade, and well, she needed a few minutes to gather her thoughts. Cass glanced up at the sky, absently marveling at how blue it was, but quickly brought her eyes back down to the ground when the sun started to shine on her eyes, momentarily blinding her. Then she closed her eyes for a moment before answering "Well, its too late now." She said sullenly "He got back together with her." The girl continued, her lip curling upwards in disgust at the thought of the girl "She wins. Hooray." Cass added sarcastically as she crossed her arms over her chest defiantly while she set her lips in a thin, firm line, and her eyes glinted with something like a mixture of anger and deviousness. "But,that's just a rumor I heard." She couldn't even remember where she heard it from. And besides, it wasn't as if she could do anything about the situation, not after she promised her sister that she wouldn't do anything about it. She wouldn't ruin their relationship.

Playing with the little box, she turned it over and over again, though had not once looked down at it as she slowly walked along the path to the terrace near Professor Bentley's office. The weather was starting to become warmer, though she still wore a warm jacket and a matching scarf to keep the cold away from her skin. Even if it were still snowing, it was probably best she do this outside anyhow.

Spotting the table, she sighed somewhat in relief, seeing that it was made of metal. Good! If it had been wood then well...

"Should probably eat after this." she muttered to the blond snake next to her as she sat down comfortably in one of the seats. Missing breakfast was not good!

It might have been warming up a bit...but Marilyn could still be found wearing a thick wool jacket. To be honest, the blond hadn't even wanted to leave the common room...but Evelyn had asked. Marilyn was positive that if it had been anyone else, the answer would have been a resolute 'NO'.

Making their way to the Terrace, and to the metal table, Marilyn took a seat across from Ev. "I still say we figure out some way for lightning to strike it..." Even though there were no clouds in the sky or rain. What did that matter, though?

Seeing a flash of lightning blast open the walnut would be AWESOME.

Placing the little box in front of her, Evelyn raised a brow and lifted her gaze to the blond snake across from her. "Yea, I'm going sit in the library for hours searching for that spell." she joked, taking out her wand and tapping the top of the box that held the walnut inside. Actually, she probably would search for that spell. Later on though. She was busy now.

Besides, there was just no time to do so. She'd procrastinated on this homework long enough.

"I still say we use fire." For obvious reasons.

Violet had been up before dawn--'the fair maid who the first of May,' and all that, except she wasn't very fair. Nevertheless, she had decided to get up early, go outside on the grounds, wash her face in the morning dew, and collect a bit of greenery to take back to the dorms. She was sitting at a small table near the greenhouses now, wiping her hands dry on her handkerchief. When she put it back in her pocket, she noticed that Lewis, her egg from Charms class, felt a little damp--drat all that dew, what had she been thinking?

She drew the egg out of the inner pocket where she kept it when she wasn't asleep, twirled and pointed her wand at it, and spoke the charm: "Argentum Siccus!" With relief, she felt it and found it was nice and dry again, back to normal. Replacing it in her pocket, she sat back and breathed in the spring air. Ah, it was good to be alive, and to be a witch! She settled back to watch the sun rise with Lewis safe in her pocket.

Running out from her office, Bentley found herself standing at the terrace. Her eyes immediately darting in the direction of the greenhouses. Nope. No smoke there. Thank Merlin!

But where was it coming from?

The air was a little hazy, and the smell of smoke was becoming stronger. The only questions that remained, was where was it coming from? And WHHHYYYY?!

Running from the shed, Evelyn kept aware of who and what was around her, just incase along the way to the Professor's office, she'd pop up somewhere nearby. Yet, her main focus was on the Professor's office, and after a quick turn around a couple of plants to the terrace, the Slytherin girl skidded to a halt.

"PROFES-"

Stupid bubble-head charm!

With a poke of her wand, the bubble guarding her nose and mouth popped, leaving her to speak clearly; as clearly as she could from still being slightly out of breath from the rush of it all that is. "Professor Bentley. Your shed!" The one! Over there! POINT POINT! "It's on FIRE!"

IT WAS SO PRETTY!

She was about to run off toward the student garden when the Head Girl came running out from nowhere. Huh? WHAT?! HER SHED?!...

Bentley stood and stared for a breif moment, processing the information Evelyn had thrown her.
"Right..."

"Uhh... how?"
Hadn't it been locked? How could it be on fire?
"It wasn't Destiny was it?"
That girl was always a little shifty, and seemed to enjoy breaking things or hurting things. Either way, the Slytherin girl was one to watch, especially around her greenhouses. Puffapod-Beater

A horrible thought suddenly occured to her. What about all her research notes? Notebook after notebook of research. Of course she should have known better than to leave them unguarded, she definitely should have taken them with her, and slept with them under her pillow, just to be sure they were safe. Alas, she figured her shed was safe enough. Obviously not.

That meant she should go put it out yes? YES!

"Thanks," she murmured briefly before rushing off, arms flailing slightly as she made her way toward her precious shed.

After she yelled out that particular information, she didn't expect the Professor to just...stand there. What? Wait, how was she supposed to know how the shed caught fire? Actually, now that she thought about it for a split second, she really did want to know.

And something about Destiny...

"What?"

Shaking her head slowly, mouth open as if she was going to say something else, the Slytherin girl shrugged her shoulders just before Bentley rushed off towards the shed. Standing there staring after the Professor, Evelyn finally blinked and followed after her; a little less in a rush though.

She did after all have to make sure Josh didn't suffocate himself as of yet. Gryffindors.

William found Professor Bentlley at the terrace. William is sweating and feeling flush with torn clothes.. " May I talk to you?"William asked the professor. William also has a bloody nose, it is probably broken. He forgot the spell to fixx it.
