Cassandra walked into green house one. She needed to release some steam... usually she would have gone to the Transfiguration lab, or the duelling arena... but for some reason she came here.

She picked up the watering can and began watering the plants. She knelt down to one of them she hadn't seen before... it had beautiful lilac colored leaves, while it's blossoms were green. She watered it, and it began to yellow.

No! No! No! Drat! He's going to kill me. She took her wand and tried fixing it. "Reparo?" She said more in a question. It didn't work. Come on little one... She waved her wand again "Lumos!" The plant seemed to respond a little. She began singing to it in Italian. Hoping it would help.

Armand walked into his greenhouse and heard singing in Italian. "Ah, it's Cassandra," he said with a small chuckle. He walked over to her amazingly silently and leaned in close. "Piccola mia..."

Xana walked up, following Professor Erikson to the source of the singing. Trel. Great. Could this day possibly get any more magically delicious? she groaned inwardly, though her face revealed nothing. She looked at what she was doing to -- oh, that poor plant!

Cassandra was on her knees trying to revive the plant, when someone spoke into her ear. She jumped startled and fell back in her rear end. She looked up, and saw the stunning blue eyes. Getting to her feet she said "I'm sorry, I was just trying to water it..." She turned around to the plant, still panicked. "I think I can fix it, I think I'm close." But then she noticed someone behind Erikson...

Her... she fought back a growl. "Xana," she said in greeting. With Erikson there, she couldn't just ignore her... she stood before the plant trying to conceal it from the redheaded gorgon.

He took Cassandra gently and moved her to the side, one hand delicately went to her jaw and bid her to look at him. "Remember that some plants are more delicate than others, and need very special treatment. It is best that if you do not know the plant, something which is difficult in my greenhouses I know, then to leave the care to someone else."

He gave her a soft, warm smile. Taking an orb from his robes, one recognized as those which hovered over the plants in his office, he held it by the soil and turned it on. The soil slowly became drier, and the plant began to recover. He turned it off once the plant regained its color.

"There, no harm done."

Cassandra smiled, "Thank you, professor."

She looked at Xana then back to Erikson. She spoke to her Herbology Professor, pretending Xana was not there. "I did want to speak to her, sir... We just... she tends to..." She sighed. "I'll try again..." She knew he didn't want to hear her excuses and she shouldn't have been given him any.

He eyed the two of them then sighed. "Alright, you two. What happened this time?"

Cassandra looked at Xana and sighed again. "Nothing professor... Xana got me at a bad time and I think I was a tad too stressed that day." She didn't want to go into too many details. She didn't want to say how Xana had player on a weakness to gain the upper hand.

Xana raised her eyebrow. "I'm sorry if the last time we spoke was at a stressful time for you. But please know that I'm always open to speaking with you, especially if it is regarding matters that affect our House, or ways I can help support you as our Prefect... As I recall at the end of last term, you and I made a rather strong team."

Cassandra smiled fiercely. "I'll keep that in mind."

Could she not stop? Xana had to make herself look so much better than she in front of Erikson. She was always open, she was there to support her... right, that's why she enjoyed disrespecting her in front of new students. This was all for Erikson's benefit, no doubt. She nodded to Xana's comment about being a strong team.

She smiled at her warmly. "I'm so glad to hear that. Our of curiousity... what did you wish to speak with me about? Or is this also a bad time?" she tilted her head, looking directly at Trelawney with an open and warm expression. A 'tad too stressed', indeed... that day in the common room she had behaved reprehensibly in front of new students, and she was just angry that somebody had the gall to call The Prefect on it. But no matter...

"Curiosity, Xana, killed the kneazle..." She smirked. "Professor Erikson," she nodded at him, "said we should discuss a project..."

Cassandra was nudged for the kneazle comment, something Erikson found was rather uncalled for, considering the circumstances. Though one might not have guessed it the way he seemed focused on his plants.

Cassandra looked up at the professor... he seemed... unhappy with her... She turned back to Xana. "Well? Do you think you could elaborate Xana?" She was starting to grow impatient. This girl was going to ruin everything she had worked for... and it had already started.

Xana smiled warmly, despite the fact that Trelawney's snappish tone was grating on her nerves. "Certainly, Trelawney. We- Claudian and I - have been working on forming a student association of sorts. I'd love to talk to you about it more, but Claudian really needs to be present at the meeting; the project was his idea and I'd like to respect that. May we meet you in the common room later? "

ooc: I'd like to have Izzy in the conversation if we're going to talk about this with Trel, out of respect for the fact that the idea is borne of hers.

Claudian... yeah... great...

"Yes." She said for Erikson's sake. "I would ask, however that you do not undermine my authority in the common room. If you have an issue with me, you tell me privately." She said to her.

She turned to her Professor and gave him a courteous nod, "Thank you for correcting my mistake." She said, "Please enjoy your day, Professor." She moved towards the castle and passing by the red headed gorgon, she said "Xana."

"Cassandra..." He watched as she walked off and sighed. He'd been hoping she would hold back a moment so he could talk with her. Ah well... He shook his head and looked to Xana. "I can only try and attempt to say that she can be worth the effort..." With that he went back to his plants, looking over each of them carefully.

Xana merely smiled. "I trust your judgment, sir."

She watched him working with the plants for a moment. "Is there anything I can do to help?"

He glanced over at her, still not sure he was quite ready to work with her. There was too much on his mind. He nodded anyhow. "It's just basics. Keep an eye out for disease, fungus, and parasites."

She nodded, inspecting the plants alongside him, caring for them in a gentle approach that emulated his.

Alexis wondered into the greenhouse but she just looked around she didn't dare touch anything for fear of doing it wrong, she thought that she might come back and help out once she has had a few lessons.

Xana dashed to greenhouse six and located the tiger lillies Professor Erikson had mentioned. She took two plants and rushed back to class.

Dia entered the greenhouses with Xana. "Okay...lead the way. The only way I could know my way around here is if I used a four-point spell..." she muttered.

"Well, if I wanted to be annoying I'd point out that if you only spent more time here, you'd know your way around better. But I don't want to be annoying, so I won't." she gave her a slight wink and grinned, cleaning up and tending to plants as she walked through the greenhouse. She made her way to the area where the rest of the konkagami plants were being kept, in a partially shaded part of the greenhouse. She handed one to Dia and pulled out larger pots and the necessary 5-10-10 fertilizer and soil, as well as rocks and pebbles. "Shall we?"

She worked deftly, repotting her plant as she had repotted the tiger lily in class. She still intended to care for that plant, as well. "These are really fascinating plants- I'd never even heard of them prior to this class. I would be really disappointed to miss out on the opportunity to grow one, wouldn't you?" she asked, using a scoop to get the necessary fertilizer out of its bag and spreading it on the soil of the newly potted plant. "We can keep them in one of the lesser used sheds-- the light should be sufficient and trust me, only the spiders ever seem to go back there. Or we could keep them in Professor Erikson's office- he gave me access to his office as I've been caring for the plants in there." She neglected to mention that Apedemak was keeping his own plant in the isolation chambers there; she surmised it was for the same reason that Dia needed hers to be hidden but out of respect for Apedemak did not plan to seek out the plant to find out what it revealed about his past.
