Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Diagon Alley webcast, cast interviews on website
The full webcast of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Diagon Alley, with Universal's Tom Shroeder and Harry Potter actors James Phelps, Matthew Lewis and Evanna Lynch can be viewed below. For highlights from the reveal, head right to SnitchSeeker's report.
Several new interviews and previews of Diagon Alley were released on Universal Orlando Resort's website, seen here (which also has an interactive look at the wizarding town in London). New segments with Rupert Grint, the Phelps twins and Warwick Davis from the set of of the film series were previewed, as well as Robbie Coltrane as Hagrid giving an introductory tour of Diagon Alley. All new footage can be viewed below.
Quote:
Rupert Grint: Yeah, I remember I was walking with Dan actually, when we first went in (to Hogsmeade). We just couldn't stop looking at it. We had such a great time. We were just blown away by the detail and how amazing it looked.
James Phelps: Nothing could prepare us for how big it is. I remember, as cast, we were just blown away.
Oliver Phelps: The cool thing about the expansion is it's going to be over two worlds. It's going to be in two totally separate parts, and you can get totally immersed in the whole of Harry Potter.
Warwick Davis: So, Hogsmeade and the new Diagon Alley/London expansion are in quite separate areas. One of them is in Islands of Adventure, the other one is in Universal Studios. So the genius way the two places are connected is, of course, by a Hogwarts Express.
If you've been to Hogsmeade at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, you'll know how detailed and how authentic everything feels. So imagine that - this will be just as detailed, just as authentic, but on a grander scale.
Rupert Grint: I think the fact that we get to see Diagon Alley again. There's just so much to look at. It's a really special place to explore.
The Florean Fortescue Ice-Cream Parlour is going to be incredible. I'm really looking forward to that. It's going to be loads of weird flavours and stuff. So yeah, can't wait for that.
Warwick Davis: When you arrive at the new expansion of the Wizarding World of harry Potter, you're presented with a view of London, which includes the landmarks you'll recognize from the films.
So now, with the new expansion, you can walk down Diagon Alley and see, "Oh, The Leaky Cauldron. Should we pop in? Have a snack?" You can actually do that. That's really exciting.
James Phelps: In The Leaky Cauldron you can get a Butterbeer, or traditional English pub food, which I definitely recommend.
You can go to get properly kit out in proper wizards' clothing and everything, adn have the whole experience in the original shop of Ollivanders.
