Construction, or rather demolition, has begun this month at Universal Studios Hollywood, the future home of the third Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction. Two notable buildings and rides, The Adventures of Curious George and the Gibson Amphitheater, have been closed permanently and fenced up behind walls, so that they can be torn down to make way for Hogsmeade Village and Hogwarts Castle at the park in Los Angeles, Calif.





Theme Park Insider released two maps of Universal Studios Hollywood - one from summer 2012, and another from this month, and the difference is notable, as labeled in the red circles drawn below. Those circled areas will become the home of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, rumoured to open sometime in 2016.

For those impatient to wait until 2016 for USH, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Studios Japan will open in late 2014, and of course the Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Hogsmeade at Universal Orlando Resort is open now for the world to visit, with the upcoming Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Diagon Alley coming in spring 2014.
