Videos: J.K. Rowling traces family history on BBC's Who Do You Think You Are?
As reported earlier this month, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling traced her maternal roots back to France on the programme Who Do You Think You Are? trying to find the truth about her great-grandfather, whom she believed received the legion d'honneur for his armed services.
The documentary was broadcast on Wednesday evening on BBC in the U.K., where the cameras followed Jo Rowling from Edinburgh to London, down to Paris and the French-German border to seek the truth about her French ancestors. That hour-long feature, in four segments, via sportskingtv, can be watched below. For those in the U.K., it can be viewed on BBC's iPlayer.
Thank you for posting this! When she said her great-great grandfather took over in the war I thought he is like Neville Longbottom when he thought Harry was dead he took over! How weird is that. I love looking into family history and this was so emotional. I really got a charge when her distant cousin met her at the graveyard and gave her the picture but then tells her he loves Harry Potter! That is hysterical.
Thanks again for posting, I'm in America we don't get to see this version of that show.
This was fantastic. It makes me want to trace my family. But I have no clue how to! I'm also in America, so we don't get this, so thank you for posting it!
