| | Mike Newell speaks about 'Goblet of Fire' Empire Magazine has a short article about ' Goblet of Fire' in which Mike Newell talks about the film and how it differs to the earlier movies.
"This one's so completely, radically different. It's also unlike anthing I've ever done before, which was partly the idea behind it."
"Really, the only limitation is what you can imagine, which is remarkable."
"The first two films are very sunny in a way, and very wish-fulfillment-y. But there is no adult challenge. Alfonso put some of that in and I take it further forward. The truth that you tell with and for and about an 11 year-old is different from what you'll tell with a 15 year-old."

well........he's so right in saying that directing 15 yr olds is different from 11 year olds..as well as the story is more grown up too.....
and when he said that he'd never directed anything like this before he's so very rite...and wot with the tri-wizard tournament and the yule ball stuff---- i just cant wait it to be here..the movie!

I just cant wait for this movie. (No ofense to Alfonso, but this one looks better then the 3rd. not that the 3rd wasnt good because it was...it just wasnt complete I guess...ahh well.) BUt he is right about the diffrences between the first two and the 3rd and the 4th. And the 4th starts to show how all the books dont have a 'sunny' ending in a way...
:w00t: Cant wait till November!

Actually, the only limitation is what you imagine Mr. Newell...there's no imagination involved in watching a film. Reading a book on the other hand, that's another matter. That said, I think he does have a good imagination, I like what I've seen so far, but until it comes out...and I can compare to the other three, which everyone everywhere bashes I will withhold *In Booming Special FX voice, brought to you by LucasFilm THX* ULTIMATE JUDGEMENT!

I really agree with him there! Esp about the life of an 11 year old is going to be different from the life of a 15 year old. I know this is Harry Potter and no matter what age he is its still unbelieveably complex but you do need to expect a different standard. This is the 3rd director so each time a new one comes aboard they areof course going to be studying the previous movies to see what can be improved and added apon. For example with the special effects even from movie 1-3 they have like doubled and then tripled in magnatude and skill. I just cant wait to see what Mike Newell has made for us all!
Bring on GoF!!!

^ yea thats the date that has been advertised for months. But we may be lucky and get it a bit earlier. They did that with Poa. It was meant for release on 4th June but was then changed to 31st May!!! Yay!!

No you dont need a time machine!! Thats so 20th century!! You need a time turner. But you'd need a extreamly good reason why so that that Ministry would let you have one! Better think up some good reasons now then!!
