James and Oliver Phelps were on hand to promote the opening of Harry Potter: The Exhibition in Shanghai, the latest leg in the travelling museum's world tour. A few photos from fans who attended on Friday can be seen here.

Harry Potter ™ fans in Shanghai and throughout China will finally have the chance to take a step into the famous wizard’s magical world when Harry Potter: The Exhibition, makes its China debut today at the Super Brand Mall in Lujiazui Shanghai, China. During last night’s premiere event, actors James and Oliver Phelps, who played Fred and George Weasley in the Harry Potter film series, brought their wit and charm to welcome the first guests in China. The exhibition opens today Saturday, December 5, 2015. Tickets are on sale now, and can be purchased online at http://www.harrypotterexhibition.com.cn, http://www.damai.cn and http://www.lvmama.com.

In partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, Global Experience Specialists (GES) created the 1,400-square-meter experiential exhibition, where visitors are able to enjoy dramatic displays inspired by the Harry Potter film sets and see the amazing craftsmanship behind authentic costumes, props and creatures from the films. The Van Egmond Group is partnering with GES to present the exhibition.

“It’s amazing to see so many hardcore Harry Potter fans in China. They love the Harry Potter films, collect the books and even dressed up as wizards and witches!” said James Phelps. “Seeing them eager to immerse themselves in the Harry Potter experience is overwhelming, the response to the exhibition during last night’s event was fabulous. This is our very first ever visit to China and we love Shanghai, it’s a beautiful city and spending time with fans surrounded by all the great costumes, props and creatures brought us lots of surprises and good memories from working on the films! “ added Oliver Phelps.

Harry Potter: The Exhibition will display the Great Hall, Hagrid’s hut, the Gryffindor™ common room, and fan favorites such as Harry’s wand and eyeglasses, the Marauder’s Map, Gryffindor school uniforms and an array of Quidditch™ equipment. In addition, fans will experience a collection of magical creatures like Buckbeak™ the Hippogriff, a Hungarian Horntail dragon, and even a Dementor. Visitors to the exhibition will also be able to try their hand at some of the activities experienced by students at Hogwarts™, such as pulling a screaming Mandrake from its pot or tossing a Quaffle in the Quidditch area.

Harry Potter: The Exhibition opens at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2015 on the 9th floor of the Super Brand Mall in Lujiazui, Shanghai. Guests are encouraged to purchase their tickets early to ensure their preferred date and time. The last entry will be one hour before closing of the exhibition. An exclusive audio tour is also available, providing behind-the-scenes insight into the making of the Harry Potter films, with commentary from the producers, prop designers, costume designers and creature designers.
