Harry Potter: The Character Vault, which gives brief biographies on all the main and important characters of the film series, revealed a few never-before-seen photos of those that were cut from the eight-part saga.
The first image below, from the book out this week, shows Mrs. Longbottom with an 11-year-old Neville right before he boards the Hogwarts Express in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, which was cut out of the first movie. It wasn't even common knowledge Neville's Gran was cast until this photo.
The second photo features a rendering of what Peeves may have looked like had he made it to the final cut of Sorcerer's Stone. The late Rik Mayall was confirmed to have shot scenes as Peeves, but no footage was released publicly.
The third is a promo from
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 with young Severus Snape and Lily Evans, played by Benedict Clarke and Ellie Darcey-Alden, respectively, as Hogwarts students.
The last image is a rare actual promo shot of the first epilogue scene filmed for Deathly Hallows: Part 2 at King's Cross Station in London back in May 2010. That first version was eventually scrapped due to technical and aesthetic issues regarding how the adult actors looked, and was eventually reshot in December 2010 inside Leavesden Studios. That second epilogue shot was the cut that made it to the final film.
Harry Potter: The Character Vault, which comes with hundreds of official photos, behind-the-scenes shots and screencaps from the eight Harry Potter films, can be ordered
