| | |  Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows films split confirmed; 16 new promos released
The fall preview issue of Entertainment Weekly is out, featuring Deathly Hallows as the cover feature. Several new photos from the films, including of Harry riding in Sirius's motorbike with Hagrid outside Privet Drive; the Death Eaters at Malfoy Manor; Harry letting Hedwig go outside the Dursleys' home; Harry and Ginny nearing for a kiss in the Burrow; Ron lurking about a corner in London; Harry grabbing for something in the tent, and Harry and Hermione in a forest have been released and can be found in our galleries, courtesy of RupertGrint.net.
The biggest new piece of information, however, is that the split of the two films has been revealed. Without spoiling out-right, it can be read under the spoiler cut. 
 
 
 
New interviews from the set with David Yates, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson can be read below.
A new image of Emma Watson from her shoot with EW last week was released in the issue, as well; that can be found here.  UPDATE: A new promo shot of Harry in his dress robes pointing his wand out was in the issue, as well, and can be found in our galleries, courtesy of Frozen_Cause.   | |

Much better split point than other theories I have read.
In that picture of Harry and Hedwig, Harry is letting her go right? Does that mean that Hedwig is going to survive (both happy and a little disappointed about that for various reasons).

The split sounds GREAT, only I know I'm going to be so into the movie that I'll be upset with the ending. Seems kinda cliffhanger-ish. Which I guess is what they're going for and that's good, but waiting all those months for Part 2 is going to drive me nuts. *sigh* The woes of a fan

For me, Hedwig dying seemed pointless at first (when I read the books) but it came to have a much more symbolic value after I thought about it. I mean, she was one of Harry's strongest links to the wizarding world while he was outside of Hogwarts - not to mention his only "friend" while at the Durlsey's.
I am really glad to hear that it looks like she will get a better send off in the films. Self-sacrificing owl is pretty poetic.

First Year | A friend of Harry is a friend of mine. The impossible often has a way of become reality.
While I was hoping for something a little more ‘cliff-hanger’ like for the ending (after the Snatchers snatch the trio, Hermione’s tortured screams echoing over a black screen), I think this will make an excellent ending to Part I. Giving the audience a change to breathe after what is sure to be a terrifying Malfoy Manor scene may be just what we need to be able to exit the theatre in an organized fashion. The split leaves a lot of room in the second half for a cinematographic masterpiece.
Overall? I am quite pleased with the decision, and although I was kind of hoping they wouldn’t reveal the decision at all, and let us find out at the premiere, I think this makes more sense.
After all – if you don’t like it, now you can get over it by the time the film is out.

Just started crying after seeing this page. Oh ye gods, it's on it's way...just three more months, approximately. Then more waiting. I cannot hold my excitement in any longer. I need to see this epic, EPIC movie!
