In a new interview Stanislav Ianevski, who played Viktor Krum in the
Harry Potter film series, he revealed a deleted sub-storyline between his character and Ron and Hermione in the last installments,
Deathly Hallows, which nearly extended to the final battle in part two.
According to Ianevski, director David Yates originally added a dance sequence for
Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (as shown by the image below) between Krum and Hermione, whilst Ron watched on jealously at Bill and Fleur's wedding. This is already known to fans.
What is new, however, is that Yates planned for this supposed love triangle to spread into the finale of the saga, and for Krum to return during the Battle of Hogwarts and apparently he and Ron would have had one off to fight for Hermione, once and for all. Thankfully, that scene was never shot and scrapped altogether.
Ianevski's interview can be heard starting at 1:10 hours into the audio below, right after EW's chat with the
Harry Potter costume designer, Jany Temime.

Quote:
Stanislav Ianevski: “[Yates] invented a new story that wasn’t in the books, a love triangle between Viktor Krum, Hermione, and Ron, but that was cut out of the film because it obviously didn’t fit with all the horrible things that happen in the last book.”
“We did a new dance scene, I sort of stole [Hermione] from Ron. She remembered our old times, Viktor was acting like a gentleman again, happy to see her, she was happy to see him. Ron was sitting on the side, was jealous, and then Viktor took her to the dance floor.”
“I don’t know how far they could go. If the story from the seventh [film] that David Yates invented extended itself then maybe they would’ve gotten into a fight with Ron, and Viktor would obviously win and then live happily on forever with Hermione.”
