| | Half-Blood Prince grosses $100 million in 24 hours
Variety reports that in its opening day of release Half-Blood Prince grossed over $100 million internationally. Of that, $58.2 million was aquired domestically with $45.9 million taken elsewhere around the world, reaching a total tally of $104 million - the best ever opening for the franchise. Quote:
Domestic theater count for "Half-Blood Prince" is 4,275 heading into the weekend. Pic's debut was slightly more staggered overseas. On Wednesday, the film opened on 10,500 screens in 33 markets. It moved into more territories on Thursday, and this weekend, it will be playing on roughly 15,000 screens in 64 markets.
In the UK the film had the third best opening day ever ($7.6 million from 1,305 screens), the second highest in Italy ($4 million from 923) and the third highest in Australia ($4.4 million from 484). In Holland, it had the biggest opening of all time at $1.3 million. Quote:
"With many countries yet to open, these already outstanding box office numbers are another testament to the universal appeal of J.K. Rowling's stories and the work of everyone behind the 'Harry Potter' films," said Warners prexy of intl. distribution Veronika Kwan-Rubinek.

Wow! it is almost unbelieveable the amount of popularity this story has! And we owe all of it to Jo!
And the movie parts to the wonderful directors, actors, and all the behind-the-scenes workers wizards too! |

| its time to choose between what is right and what is easy I am glad that it did so well, I hope it breaks some records! I bet WB is happy, getting exactly what they wanted lol.
never mind, i dont know if i will pay to see it again, the film definitly had its good parts, but i think it was just too disappointing to sit through again...

It's an incredible film.
I litterally have no complaints.
I ALWAYS have complaints.
I even - and I never thought I would hear my self say it - enjoyed Steve Kloves script.
Roll on 7i and 7ii \o/

I'm going to go see it tomorrow morning (been so busy with my job I haven't had a chance yet). I'm really looking forward to it, and am glad the movie is doing so well. I knew it would!

Congrats, but I'm not surprised. It was an AMAZING movie, I loved every second of it. Stuff was left out, but I think they did an excellent job with what they had to work with. Go HP!!
