Post 'Fantastic Beasts' film panel, 'few clips' coming to San Diego Comic-Con: David Yates

Director David Yates confirmed that Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will be featured at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, where he will show 'a few clips' from the movie.

This will presumably take place during the Warner Bros.' SDCC Hall H panel on Saturday, July 23rd from 11:30am-1:30pm, as the film itself does not have its own session.

Yates has also pretty much confirmed that he will return to direct the second Fantastic Beasts film, which will release in theaters in November 2018, starring Eddie Redmayne and Katherine Waterston as Newt Scamander and Tina Goldstein, respectively (the only two confirmed so far as they signed for the full trilogy). The topic was brought up while promoting the current release of his latest feature, The Legend of Tarzan.

I’m really looking forward to your next film as well, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Is there anything you can tell us about it?
David Yates:
Fantastic Beasts — it’s very exciting and I’m editing it at the moment and it’s coming together really well. We’re going to take a few clips to Comic-Con very shortly and we’re working on the second one as well. We’re setting up Beasts 2 and Jo’s [J.K. Rowling] already delivered a script for that which is terrific and so it’s all going very well. That’s all I can say really, it’s fun.
Cast for Fantastic Beasts is also expected to be at Comic-Con, including Redmayne. Dan Fogler, who plays No-Maj Jacob Kowalski, already confirmed through social media that he will be at SDCC this year.

Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling's Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them screenplay book can be pre-ordered now via the following links: Amazon.com (hardcover) | Amazon.com (Kindle) | Amazon.co.uk (UK hardcover) | Warner Bros. Shop (hardcover)
