Several reliable news sources have revealed three new key characters that will star in the upcoming first installment of the
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them series, including what could be Newt Scamander's rival, and a pair of sisters.
The girls include a character named Tina and younger sister Queenie, report Variety and
The Wrap on Wednesday. Those actresses listed for the roles can be seen here. Oscar-winner Eddie Redmayne is still the top choice for Newt Scamander.
According to the report, Redmayne will have auditions and script readings alongside the actresses and actresses listed below to see who will be cast in the other three main roles.
Rumour is that Tina may be a shortened version of Porpentina, whom J.K. Rowling - screenwriter for the series - stated was the name of Scamander's wife.
Up for Queenie right now are:
Oscar-nominee Saoirse Ronan
Lili Simmons (Banshee, Geek Charming)
Dakota Fanning (The Twilight Saga, Coraline)
Alison Sudol (Transparent, also known as the musician A Fine Frenzy)
Up for Tina include:
Supermodel and actress Kate Upton
Katherine Waterston (Inherent Vice, Robot & Frank)
Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby)
Up for Jacob, who is described as 'comedically-oriented, scruffy and a little heavy-set', include:
Steve Zissis
Zack Pearlman
Dan Fogler
Please note that none of these castings, or even auditions, are confirmed from Warner Bros. or parties involved, including producer David Heyman, director David Yates, and even
Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling herself.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them's first installment will hit theaters in November 2016.
