Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them to begin filming 'late summer': David Heyman
Producer David Heyman admitted in a new interview that production for the first installment of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will begin hopefully sometime this summer.
In an interview with Collider to promote the theatrical release of Paddington, out in theaters now, Heyman said that production designer Stuart Craig, who set up the Wizarding World for the Harry Potter film series and subsequent theme park attractions, will also be back for Fantastic Beasts. Casting is also in early stages, so no word yet.

David Heyman: “The experience of conjuring up these worlds is such fun. So to do it with [Rowling] and with Steve Kloves and Lionel Wigram is involved too, and with David Yates, and Stuart Craig will be designing it; it’s great. It’s exciting, and it’s a great world to return to.”
“We will shoot later on this year. The plan is to shoot late summer.”
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them's first film, written by J.K. Rowling, will hit theaters in November 2016.

but this is a great interview (as can be expected from Collider), not a whole lot that we dont already know, and im glad for the interviewer to still ask the right questions but also imply a sentiment common to fans-- theres been so little info coming out of this project that most are feeling skeptical about it ever getting done. if they plan to shoot by summer then it means we should hear production rumblings (casting, location scouting, crew hiring) by around March. that aint to far away
