| | Emma Watson talks end of Harry Potter & contribution to fashion in Remix magazine
Emma Watson discussed life after the Harry Potter series, why she chose to cut her hair back in August 2010, and the realisation of being an influential fashion icon for millions of fans around the world in the latest issue of Remix magazine. Scans and the interview can be found in our galleries. Quote:
"Obviously there's sadness - there were a few tears on the last day - but there's also a great sense of relief because playing Hermione has been such a big responsibility," she admits. "Now it's over, it feels like a massive weight has been lifted off me! It's such a relief that I can just be myself - be Emma - again."
'That's why I cut my hair," she reveals. "I'd spend more than half my life being somebody else - with their hairstyle - and I wanted to be Emma and have my hair the way I wanted it. I didn't realise it, at the time, but it was actually incredibly symbolic having all this hair cut off that people so identified with Hermione. It felt great - it was very liberating - like I was shedding that old skin and starting a fresh, new chapter!"
"You know, I'm only 20, so I have no idea what I want [to do] with the rest of my life, or even what I will be doing in say ten years' time. I do have my dreams - a vision of what I'd like my life to look like - but who knows if that will happen.
"It's funny, because a lot of my friends are now gearing up to get a job and really push on with their career but I'm at a point now where I need to just stop, have a break, and take it easy for a bit. I'm very excited by that, and the prospect of just having some normality in my life.
"The problem though is that I'm a workaholic," adds Emma, laughing. "I'm hugely motivated and determined, so you've not seen the end of me, just yet! I'm always going to work hard and always want to act. But I'm also going to try and make sure that I have a bit of fun as well!"

I always love Emma, but to be honest, exactly how many more of these interviews are they gonna put out talking about her hair and what not? It's kinda like, ok, we get it. She cut her hair b/c she wanted something different. She needed to identify herself apart from Hermione and start fresh in her life. Completely understandable. But putting out these constant interviews (in my opinion) is almost like keeping her from doing just that. She wants to move on, but with all these magazines coming out talking about her moving on, it's just kind of a constant reminder that not only is Harry Potter over *tear* but that she was in them. I know Emma will always be remembered as Hermione, but am I the only one that feels some unnecessary repetition is going on here?

I know Emma will always be remembered as Hermione, but am I the only one that feels some unnecessary repetition is going on here? I love reading whatever Emma has to say but yes I do agree-it seems the magazines are repetitive in what they ask about/discuss with Emma or Rupert-how many times about his ice cream truck? LOL...but I know what you mean...Emma will always be identified w. Hermione, no one else could have done her role justice (agree that her performance and Rupert's too in DH 1 was freakin AMAZING and they just OWNED their scenes together and separately). But it is time to move on...DH 2 will be coming out SOON and that will be *sadly the last time we see her as Hermione . But I know I am looking very forward to seeing Emma playing other characters like in My Week with Marilyn and Perks of Being a Wallflower. As for the "roles" she has played in her modeling the last year, I do have to admit, that was definitely not Hermione and she did an awesome job showing just that We know Emma loves Hermione, but she has done it for 10 years and it is time to move on. I for one cant wait to see her in other future roles GO EMMA Btw the pics-she is all grown up, that is for sure-looking classy and elegant as always |

Seems Emma really don't know what Job she want's to do.People should stop asking her that now.You will see what she will do,when she ends with Uni.People should stop too, saying to her "continue with that and that and that"
Or she will never get a Chance to find out what she really wants

I totally agree with you on that one, these interviews are getting way to repetitive. I liked her as Hermione, like her as Emma, understand the moving on thing, but enough is enough. I like the pics, though. |

awww.... welcome back EMMA. You have played Hermione Granger long enough that you deserve whatever you want to do with ur hair. Although i love looking at you with long hair. Not because you looked like Hermione but because you looked so pretty with it. I'm gonna miss Harry Potter. I'm going to tear up as well. harry potter has been my biggest fandom in years. I'm going to miss this movie. T____T
