Eddie Redmayne went into a bit of detail about how he prepared to play Newt Scamander, the famed Magizoologist, for the
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them film series, while
promoting the upcoming release of his drama, The Danish Girl.
Quote:
Eddie Redmayne: “I spent a lot of time at animal sanctuaries and meeting people whose job it is to track [animals] and do interesting things. Hearing about their lives, it’s interesting, and who knows if any of it is relevant onscreen?”
Redmayne briefly
commented on visiting zookeepers and animal handlers to EW during their set visit last month, and this perhaps gives a better idea of how deep he went into research.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them's first installment, written by Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, hits theaters in November 2016.
