Daniel Radcliffe: "Alan Rickman gives performance of career" in Deathly Hallows 2
Daniel Radcliffe spoke about receiving the Trevor Hero award, as well as the final film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, at Monday evening's Trevor Live event in New York City. Dan admitted that he has seen the final film, which he called spectacular, and pointed out Alan Rickman's performance as Severus Snape in the finale, which he called the actor's best of his career. That can be seen below, as well as Dan's understanding of Pottermore, his happiness over the gay marriage law being passed in New York City this week, and receiving the Trevor Hero honour.
How amped are you that there’s so much action in the next Harry Potter?
Daniel Radcliffe: I’m very excited. I’ve seen the latest film now and it is pretty spectacular. I really don’t think anyone’s gonna be disappointed. I think the action is all fantastic. I also think Alan Rickman gives what is quite possibly the film performance of his career. He is stunning in the film, really. So yeah, lots to look forward to.
Have you heard about Pottermore, the J.K. Rowling’s website?
Dan: I’ve heard a little bit about it. I haven’t heard much about it. I’m not quite sure what it is, but I think you play your way interactively through the books or something along that line. So I’m sure it’s definitely gonna ease the transition into a world without Potter for all those people that are gonna be mourning this summer.
Dan's comments on the Trevor Project, his Trevor Hero award, and more, can be seen here.

How much does this mean to you?
Dan: It’s amazing. I’ve worked with the Trevor Project for a few years now and I think out of everything I’ve done in my career so far, my association with Trevor is the thing I’m proudest of. So to be honored tonight is tremendous. Although I do have a slight problem with owning my title of hero. I don’t quite see myself as having done anything heroic. But it’s a wonderful thing.
This is a historic weekend. A historic vote here in New York City. What are your thoughts on the passage of the vote that legalizes gay marriage?
Dan: First of all, New York can be very happy because it will now find itself on the right side of history. And I also think the fact that now children who, growing up, are thinking they might be gay - the fact that will be able to look to an older generation and see that gay marriage and family life as a gay man is totally possible and normal means - hopefully, that they won’t feel that they have to hide who they are.

"The fact that I'm able to help with something like this makes me very, very proud. It's a huge honor, and it's lovely of them to give it to me. I'll say it again later, but the real heroes are the people who are staffing those call centers and picking up the phones saving lives every single day."
"It's incredibly important because all over the country there are many young people who are going through incredibly difficult times coming out or accepting who they are or coming to terms with who they are," Radcliffe said of the Trevor Project. "And it's wonderful that compassionate, brave people work at the Trevor Project and are ready to take calls 24 hours a day to help those people."
CNN released more information on their Larry King special in the series, called Harry Potter: The Final Chapter, which will include new behind-the-scenes footage from the series, as well as interviews with Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Tom Felton, Helena Bonham Carter, and Robbie Coltrane. James and Oliver Phelps will give a tour of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Florida during the special, set to air on Sunday, July 10, at 8pm and 11pm EST. A photo of Dan with King can be seen here.

Radcliffe, calling the final Potter film a “hell of a movie,” tells King that he “wept like a child on that last day” of filming.
“I was so young, it’s difficult to remember much of my life before this thing happened to me,” Watson says. “I was still losing my baby teeth” while playing Hermione.
Grint says after 10 years of his life playing Ron Weasley, leaving the character behind was “quite a big kind of shock.”

Cool interview! Daniel is so awesome, no one could of played Harry better than him. No one at all, I'm glad all three main actors/actress stayed in the movies until the very end, because without them (Dan, Rupert, Emma), the movies are nothing. Daniel, Emma, Rupert: You guys are amazing! And we (fans) love you!

Dan is always so humble and down to earth.

I love how he has to throw "kind of" in that short sentence.
It's great to see Dan's involvement with the Trevor Project, and that he stays humble about his involvement.
And wow, the performance of Alan Rickman's career? Between the trailers, the soundtrack samples, and now this, I'm getting really excited!
I'm such a big fan of Dan supporting this charity. It's so important and he's so humble. He definitely deserved this award.

Oh my God, Dan's hair is so perfect: a sculpture! It's art! Take THAT Rob Pattinson, Dan does the messy hair better than you. How does he get it to stick up like that? I know the answer is hair gel, but I'm mesmerized...

great interview, I think all the players who play a role in harry potter is already very fit, they like out of the novel, and like what I imagine, no one can replace them all
I so cannot wait to see this movie, I adore what Dan said abot Alan... I am gonna bring a whole box of tissues.
All of Alan rickman's performances are jaw dropping.. This one must be the best. From what Dan said in this interview and that a crew member ( I forget who) said they cries when watching Snape's death scene.
This is going to be epic
