| | China thinks Harry Potter helps inspire imagination
Recently, China has enforced a nationwide sales ban on horror audio and video products. However, despite the 'scary' creatures and scenes found throughout the movies, Harry Potter has escaped the ban list. According to the report, the movies and books "help inspire imagination and creativity among children and teenagers;" therefore, they can stay.
Per the General Administration of Press and Publications, all publications with hints of mystery and horror can no longer be sold, and movies currently in production must be reworked in order to "protect the country's children and teenagers' psychological development." The government office is also banning any videos and audio products they deem "vulgar."

| I'm so glad that's not happening in the UK. HP does help imagination, though, so it's great that it wasn't banned. |

Really, banning books and films is just stupid o.O Still, I'm glad they're not doing it with HP.

Maybe we'll see our kids come here one day.
That's the thing about Hogwarts.

I too agree that I cannot get behind the idea of banning books or films. Way too controlling and just wrong. However I am glad that kids will be able to see and read HP.

Yeah, Harry Potter is really good for kids because it draws a clear line between good and evil. The scenes are so well-written that it forms a clear image in a reader's mind.
And I'm going with SupaWeena with the kitchen broom thing! LOL. Also, who can't resist taking pens and imagining they're wands and have a duel during a boring class at school?
