| | |  Bloomsbury to release illustrated UK editions of Harry Potter books starting 2013
Bloomsbury, UK publishers of the Harry Potter series, announced that they will release an illustrated version of the seven-book set. Whether the books will be similar to their U.S. counterparts - where illustrator Mary Grandpre drew photos for each chapter - is currently unknown. We are currently inquiring with Bloomsbury on the new sets and will update as soon as we hear more information on them. 
As released by the Associated Press, Bloomsbury stated: Quote:
"We are pleased to announce that as part of our long term strategy for Harry Potter we intend to publish illustrated editions of all seven Harry Potter books in a rolling program from 2013 onwards in addition to our partnership on e-books with the Pottermore website," the publisher said in a statement.
Please note that regarding Pottermore, there is currently no update on when the BETA testing will be over, and no time frame on when official e-books of the series will be available for purchase. | |

The cover for the Philosopher's Stone book reminds me of my copy. It was my uncle's, then he left it on my grandma's shelf after reading it, where I picked it up, and didn't put it down until I read it all. Thus started a beautiful love of Harry Potter ...
Except that copy is now so dog-eared and battered that I'm afraid to even open it. What if it disintegrates in my hand?!
