While the Lions' Den may be the focal point of the Gryffindor common room, all the real action happens over here in the game lounge. Sofas and bean bag chairs are strung about the room in a haphazard, but comfortable, manner and off to the left is a large table with enough chairs for eight people to sit. A shelf on the wall above the table is stocked with all sorts of games and activities for curious Gryffindors to utilize. To help the lions take home the Gobstones Cup, there is a Gobstones set to practice with. Just be sure to clean up any of the smelly goo that comes spurting out from the gobs. You can also find a wizards' chess set and Snitch Snatchers on the shelf. If games are not your style, on the opposite side of the room is a grand piano waiting and ready to have its ivories tickled for a sing-along.
While Snitch Snatchers is one way to get your quidditch fix, the real quidditch treat can be found in the middle of the room in the form of a modified muggle foosball table that has been made to look like a quidditch pitch. There are no knobs to move the players around, instead all you need is your wand and to tap one of the figures on the team you wish to control while saying 'GRYFFINROAR' and away you go! As long as you are holding your wand, all you need to do is order the little figures around. Be wary of the tiny golden snitch that will start zooming around on its own accord. The figures will not return to being inanimate until it is caught!
In the back of the lounge you will find a medium sized tray topped with soil, and spray bottles containing brown liquid beside it. It may seem strange, but this is the resting place of the Gryffindor Tower Lion topiary. The Topiary Lion moves around on his own accord, and is responsive to a pat or two. Just remember to spray his roots with fertilizer and water them occasionally when he's on his pan... or else he might wither and die. On the wall behind the topiary is a display case holding dozens of Dandy Lion flowers that will purr, roar softly, and paw at the air with their leaves when you get close.

He'd been exploring the common room a bit, wondering what else there was in here when he'd come across the game lounge which had definitely intrigued him... though he had no clue what to try.
The piano was most familiar, though he'd never been that good in playing it...
Still he went over there... plopping himself down before wondering about what he'd play.

Gwen wandered into the game lounge because the topiary lion THAT MOVED was just awesome. And she loved petting him. It was as close to a pet that she had here right now. She spotted that Leo kid she talked to at the welcome party sitting at the piano.
"Hey Leo. You play?" She pointed to the piano. She had never been musically inclined herself. She just kept to her doodles. The awesome lion could wait for his pats.

"Hey" he responded with a small grin, before looking to the piano in front of him again and shaking his head a bit. "Not really, one or two songs, a few scales that's about it... my sisters play piano but I prefer the guitar" he commented with a shrug.
"You?" he asked, realising that he didn't really know that much about the other Gryffindor.

Gwen nodded. "That's cool. Better than nothing." She walked over to the piano and took a seat next to Leo. She kind of stared at the white keys.
She shook her head. "Nope. I was never really that good at musical things. That and both of parents didn't really see it as something to learn. I like to doodle though." And that was as artistic as she got. Her crazy little doodles.

He smiled at her and shrugged, before placing his fingers on the white keys and playing a simple scale. "That's a basic thing, teaches you how your fingers are meant to move" he explained. She could copy it if she wanted, it was something quite simple really.
"Really? I was never good at drawing... you'll have to show me some of the doodles then" he teased with a smile, grinning at her.

Gwen watched as his fingers moved across the keys. "Like this?" She tried to copy but missed the last couple of keys. Oops. Oh well. It wasn't like she'd done something like that before.
"I'm not either. They're just crappy little doodles." There was no way she would ever go around calling herself an artist. The title just didn't fit her. "But I can show them to you. There probably gonna be all over bits of parchment from class."

Okay, so it had to be said... the game room was awesomesaucesome. AJ was stoked that this little room had been invented. Without really knowing what she wanted to do, the lion plopped down on a comfy bean bag chair. This was nice and cozy.
Now she didn't want to get up. She laid all the way back and crossed her feet at the ankles. For now she would just sit in silence and watch the roaring flowers. How very fitting.

Game room. Chance needed a break from classes and a little bit of free fun. No brain thinking, no praciticing anything. Besides, the four years that Chance had been at Hogwarts, he had never actualy been inside this room.
Deciding it was time, Chance walked into the game room and looked around. It looked decent enough. Seeing another Gryffindor in there that looked younger, Chance got a great idea. On the bulletin board had been something about big/little Gryffindor challenges.
Walking over to the younger Gryffindor sitting on the bean bag chair, he smiled. "Hey! Im Chance. Chance Coeur. Mind if I it?" Because really, you didnt want to sit with strangers. Introductions were good for first off.

"Close" he told her, a soft smile on his face. Piano playing was never something that came naturally to him so he could understand the issue that she was having, and considering she'd never played before more so. Looking down, he played it again, a lot slower than he had before.
"Well I'll keep an eye out for them, they're probably a lot better than anything I could do" he really sucked at drawing. Even stick figures. He couldn't even draw stick figures properly.

The lion was staring at the flowers, and soon the shapes were starting to shift. She would close her right eye and squint with her left, and then change it up and do the same for her left eye. The mind could play tricks on you. Before she knew it her eyes started to droop. There was something about roaring flowers that could really put a Gryffindor to sleep.
Right before she could completely go under their spell, she heard a voice nearby. Oh, it was a lion that she had never met. A huge smile was on her face as he introduced himself. "Hey Chance. Chance Coeur. I'm Aubrey Valentine, but please call me AJ." Nobody called her Aubrey except maybe a few professors. She was totally down for making new friends. "Nope, not at all. Pull up a bean bag."

Someone had told her there was Quidditch in the Common Room. It wasn't exactly what she'd had in mind but they weren't lying, there was a table, there were the required amount of player pieces and Lex had enjoyed herself a game of Quidditch. It was the closest it seemed she would ever come to the game while she was stuck in this place--because obviously Alice and Mo would be getting her tickets ALL the time once this place was behind her. It was just a matter of waiting it all out.
After the snitch had been caught for maybe the third...or was it the fourth time, she let the pieces go inanimate again and flopped into one of the bean bag chairs, letting herself siiiiink in before opening her arms to welcome Felix. The kneazle had never been one to wait for an invite but it was a force of habit.
"We could play exploding snaps at the table next." She suggested. He enjoyed explosions almost as much as she did...only almost.

Zahra was seated nearby in one of the bean bag chairs, trying to paint her fingernails and do something that resembled homework. Whatevs. The Head Girl's arrival near her was distracting enough that she put the parchment and paint away.
....she didn't like Alexa anymore now that Mikey was gone, she found.
In fact, just looking at her made Zahra feel worse, so she blatantly turned her bean bag chair around to get a new view.

Animals didn't talk, that was the general consensus amongst educated folk but that didn't mean a response wasn't expected when she spoke. Lex might have pointed this out to the obviously distracted kneazle if the shifting of a bean bag chair didn't catch her attention first.
Oh?
It was a little rude you know? Just turning away from someone like that. It might have been a coincidence and there were ways of checking that...like....pulling out your wand and levitating the bean bag over to you. It saved you the trouble of having to walk across the room to ask questions that might prove themselves unimportant in the end. It wasn't til mid-levitation that she saw just who it was.
Well then.....This was....did she just...put her down...? Or....?
How curious.

Much better. Zahra could see the fire, and the wall, and maybe even a little view from the window with this new vantage. No Head Girl. Perfect. She might even start her homework again...
Yes. Good. Homework. Zahra scrambled around looking for her quill, which had dropped from her lap when she turned her chair. As she swiveled around and angled to retrieve it, Z noticed the Head Girl watching her.

"What?" she asked accusingly.
What.
The tone had her kneazle hissing but she dropped her hand, running her fingers through his fur to sooth him. "She doesn't have to be nice, Felix." She reminded the temperamental ball of fur. "We're technically bothering her," hazel eyes moved over to the girl now, "right Zahra? Bothering you so much you had to turn around earlier?" Must have been the way she flopped down in her chair the way she did--no, it had to be the content look on her face as she squished into the chair--ridiculous, it was her existence, knowing that girl.
"You wouldn't happen to have seen Mikey around, would you? Think he'd like the new Quidditch game we got." He'd have preferred the actual game but this would have been a nice substitute. Good way to pass time too.
Lex could have asked what got her royal highness' knickers in a fancy knot today but the girl would only tell her it wasn't her business and quite rightly so. 'Sides, she didn't particularly care, it was Zahra, Merlin knew what went around in her head.

Chance seemed to be in a very good mood, or perhaps he was one of those always cheery kind of people. It just so happened that AJ was down with that. She was almost always in a good mood. He plopped himself down in a bean bag, and she flashed him a smile. "Comfy, aren't they?"
"It's nice to meet you as well." Maybe she could get another friend out of their little chat, and who didn't want more friends? "I'm a second year. What year are you in?" He was older than her, but it couldn't be by much. This one cut right to the chase, and AJ could respect that whole no nonsense attitude. That was how you got things done. "Yeah. Wanna be my big lion?" she asked as she wiggled her eyebrows. "I am a super fun girl, and you won't be disappointed." Not that she had to sell herself. He had scoped her out.

Dang, these bean bag chairs were comfy. Chance ran his hands down them, a very appreciated look on his face. He couldnt remember the last time he ahd sat in a bean bag chair but man! He would ahve to get one for his dorm. No questions asked. Maybe he'd figure out how to turn his bed into a huge bean bag chair!
Coming down from the bean bag high, Chance focused on AJ. She was right on track with him. He could respect that. "I like where your head is at AJ! I knew when I glimpsed you, we would become friends!" He said with a boyish grin.
"Just so happens, I am a super fun boy and you won't be disappointed!" he said. Then his hand hit the bean bag chair again, and his hand was pinching it. The beans inside felt squishy. Ahhh... bean bag chair!

In hindsight, attempting homework in the game room had been really dumb. The moral of this story was to just not do homework, Zahra figured.
At least the Head Girl had THAT right. She was definitely bothering Zahra, though unlikely Alexa knew just how or why. THEN the Head Girl went and made it a gazillion times worse. At least that worse. Maybe more. Poor Zahra's heart broke and she couldn't really answer because if she did, then she might start crying, and Gryffindors don't cry, ESPECIALLY not her. NOT NOW, NOT EVER.
...so Zahra just shook her head. No, no she could honestly say she hadn't seen Mikey around. She turned back around quickly before the Head Girl could get any ideas or see how hard she was fighting to not be a crybaby.

AJ looked on as Chance got to know his bean bag chair a little better. "Not the first time you've ever sat in one, is it?" Because AJ could understand the amazement especially if this was his first time ever. The chairs were heavenly. They formed to your body just right.
Did they just become best friends? "I do have a lot going on up here," she said as she pointed to her head. "And you have good taste." Because AJ was a really good friend to have. Of course she could be biased.
She was a fun girl, and he was claiming to be a fun boy. "You giving me high expectations here." She expected him to be a super fun, adventure seeking lion now. Don't disappoint her Chance. "So, let's do it then."

No answer. Yeah. Wow. Helpful Zahra was helpful. Lex's head flopped back onto her squishy seat and she allowed herself to wonder why she bothered trying with a girl who was ready to pop her one without tolerating her company well. The sudden turning might have been the end of the conversation, in fact she was sure it was...so why wouldn't she accept that? She wasn't quite sure.
"Wouldn't have killed you to answer, you're his other half. Could save me a lot of walking if you did." Lex didn't wait for an answer but instead lightly shoved her kneazle from her lap and got to her feet. She rounded on the Gryffindor, allowing her curiosity to override her annoyance.
"How do you still hate me." Perfectly innocent question. She legit wanted to know, just for knowing. That's it.

Kind of? It did kind of kill her to answer this question over and over. Wasn't at least THAT much obvious? But Zahra wasn't NO BABY so she sucked it up, wiped her face, and put on a snarl. "He's at Durmstrang. So dress warmly when you start walking." Grrrr.
... That would make her so mad.. If Lex got to see him before her... She ALREADY got his first kiss...
"With ease." That's how. Or, well, that was kind of a lie and Zahra felt bad almost immediately after she said it. Sigh. SIGH. The snarl melted away and Zahra was nearer to the ugly crying place again. "... you know how it is." Surely the Head Girl KNEW why Zahra got all RAWR at her. Surely. Gosh. Merlin.

Wait WHAT??????
Lex...didn't try hiding her surprize. Michael Toussaint had transfered to Durmstrang and never bothered to tell her he wouldn't be coming back?? Wow. WOW. An owl would need to be written, have Dax tell Mr. Toussaint how disgruntled by having to find out this way she was but she thought better of it. No note. None. She couldn't believe he'd leave without saying so. "Oh." She finally managed once she'd regained some composure. That was all she could say about that though, JUST 'oh'.
Took her a moment to come back to what Zahra said. Hating her with ease. Fancy. Lex accio-ed her squishy chair over and flopped in it again. "'Fraid I don't know." And not because she was being difficult either. "Not that it was ever a competition but you had Michael didn't you? And you never had to wonder if we were off snogging. I already told you ages ago I wasn't interested like that so....no, I really don't know how it is."
Or maybe she wasn't being fair about it. She wasn't trying to sit in Zahra's trousers to figure it out, it was purely from her standpoint and where she stood, she never liked anyone nearly enough, ever. "I might know, if I wasn't me." She added as a small afterthought. Lex was quite inept at such things.

"Just so happens, I am a super fun boy and you won't be disappointed!" he said. Then his hand hit the bean bag chair again, and his hand was pinching it. The beans inside felt squishy. Ahhh... bean bag chair!
Oh this chair was magical! How had he forgotten about these?? "No. I just havent sat in one of these for years! ITs like..... heaven on my butt!" Chance said, his mouth twitching in a smile. "Imma make my bed one of these!" Chance told her.
Good taste? Chance had great taste! "I have great taste!" See? Told ya. "Besides, my eyes are kinda trained on spotting out the good people." Chance said, trying to act all serious like he was a professional person seer. But, he wasn't.... that he knew of anyways.
"Lets do this! Okay so the first challenge was...." Chance thought but the first challenge didn't come to his head. Turning in his bean bag, yay bean bag, he grabbed a note out of his back pocket. "Show your favorite place." Chance thought for a minute. He had many great places.
