That's right folks, come on in a Gobstones match between two of your favorite Hogwarts houses is taking place and you don't want to miss it or the prime seats up front! The room that plays host to the Gobstones matches has a few rows of raised seats along each of the long side walls, leaving plenty of room in the middle for the players to shoot for the Jack Stone.
Find a place to cheer on your house or whichever house you want to win because these players may not be brawny Quidditch jocks (or they might just be) but they still deserve the support!
OCC Note:Magical Soul, the rest of staff and I (Nordic Witch) are going to do our best to keep an eye in this thread as Matches progress, although it is no longer a moderated thread. Remember all SS School RPG and site rules apply here. Thank you very much for watching!

It was time for a game of Gobstones. Normally AJ wouldn't have come since it didn't involve Gryffindor, but Hufflepuff was playing, and Adi was representing his house. She had to cheer on her man.
Were was everybody at? Did people not come to the games or something? AJ would be loud enough for several people so it didn't really matter.
Once she settled herself down, Adi was up. Oh, he was going first. "GO, ADI!!!" she hollered.
He did it!!! "YAAAAAAY. That's my MAN!!!" She was standing up and jumping around like a crazy person. Ahem, she was just a supportive girlfriend, okay.
AJ sat back down and waited for something else exciting to happen.

To say he was a bit anxious was an understatement, and it had entirely to do with what he was wearing. Now, he was not a man of superstition - finding the majority of such things to be nothing more than self-fulfilling prophecies - but one did not simply walk around wearing a red Star Fleet uniform without a proper title. Truth be told, these were pajamas that he wore on a very VERY rare occasion. Ironically, each time ending in some sort of disaster that could, due to his overdramatic nature, have resulted in him red shirting.
Not that this was at all self-fulfilling prophecy talk or anything. Ahem.
But this was a Gobstones match in which Gryffindor was playing, so of COURSE he would be present to cheer them on. His one regret was that Seren was no longer here to sit with him and be his cheering partner.
"WELL DONE, MR. ZEKE!" Airey applauded as the first year scored the first point of the match. But Mr. Baines was not one to mess with, even with the boy's timid persona. He could see a calculating mind when he saw it.

If there was one thing Cassie never did, it was break her word and she had said she'd make it over to watch a Gobstones match and well now here she was. Did Leo see her sitting here, because she was. Though she wasn't sitting just yet, no she was still walking and looking for a seat. Seeing other people she gave them both smiling waves, "AJ how are you? Enjoying the match today?" Was it good? She wasn't all that familiar with it, other than she knew some basics to get her by.
"Hello Professor Flamsteed, nice outfit you have on." She complimented the man before sitting down. "I hope I haven't missed too much. It gets so exciting at times." Though she had no clue why, because she really didn't know what was going on with the game.
Finding a seat she put her hands in her lap and watched. Both teams looked great, she actually was excited to see how this all turned out.

MR. ZEKE AGAIN! STELLAR! WOOT! The astronomer stood up briefly to applaud the play. For both of them, technically.
Airey realized one thing that was missing as he watched Miss Brown and Mr. Atreyu face off, back to sitting down, and that was Medea and her face paints. Although the presence of those always had him on edge because he was wearing a suit...which was not applicable today.
"STELLAR THROW! MR. ATRECASSIOPEIA," he cheered, becoming distracted by the Divination professor's entrance mid-cheer. Sweet solstice what a last name THAT would be, and there were some real tongue twisters this term!
Had she missed anything? HAD SHE MISSED ANYTHING? ONLY GRYFFINDOR DOMINATION OF THE FIRST ROUND!! But given the slim pickings of the viewing area right now, he would try his best not to make such comment out loud. Yet.
"Just some stellar teamwork and throws from the lions to take the first round," he said as he puffed out his chest proudly. "Looks like that practice in the common room is really starting to pay off. I was terribly concerned after seeing how dismal the majority of their aim was after my first lesson of the term."
Speaking of practice...that HAD happened...hadn't it? He recalled setting up for some shrunken head bowling in the common room with the assistance of Mr. Atreyu and Miss Valentine...but everything after that was a bit of a blur. A really really REALLY good blur...but a blur.

Stellar? She really liked that word. It gave him snaps! "Oh I just hate to miss exciting things." She took a seat and let her green eyes go over to the Gobstone area, just maybe not the players. Giving a small smile, she tried to turn her focus back to the game. "Oh Zeke looks like he is doing a fabulous job! Aww and there is Penelope up. GO PENELOPE!! WAY TO GO EVERYONE."
Of course she was cheering for all, she didn't know the first thing about Gobstones, so it was fun to just cheer. She remembered last term trying to figure things out with Simon as they cheered on Greyson. "So you know a lot about this sport?" She had come to watch when she was in school, but never tried to figure it out. Maybe she should learn for certain reasons.
Turning towards the Astronomy Professor she gave him a curious look. "Would you be willing to teach me the basics?" They were both here so maybe he could explain it a little.

Adi made himself present just in time to hear the question about Magical creatures and Mandrakes. It was no surprise that Benny was the one that answered and thus scoring some points for his House.
"GO, BENNY!''
Woot!
It was only when he turned to take a seat that Adi noticed Professors Airey and Morgan. Eeep! Had he deafened either of them with his shouting?
O___O
"Er. Hello, Professors,'' the Badger said and grinned. "Just here to cheer on Benny.'' Being a supportive bestie here.

"Well, don't let our presence stop you from doing so," he said with a small wave towards the Hufflepuff. In fact, the young man could spare cheering a bit louder. "School spirit and comradery are rare things these days."
Attention back to the match at hand, the astronomer beamed and puffed his chest out a bit more at the lion's stellar performance. "Yes, Mr. Zeke is making quite the name for himself in his first year. I just hope that he doesn't supernova prematurely with his rigorous work ethic." Which should be a reminder to himself not to push the young man too hard too fast. He also was not used to speaking with his colleagues in such a casual form in regards to students. He expected to be referred to as professor, so showing them the same sort of respect and tacking on Miss or Mr when referring to him was just second nature. "Miss Wright is also quite the natural gobstones player as well." As was Miss Brown who had put up a stellar toss against Mr. Atreyu.
"I had to participate in student activities as a student," he said with a small shrug. Part of the whole reintegrating him into the school after the brief suspension. "So gobstones was one of those I delved into. It's...pretty self explanatory," he said with a grand gesture towards the arena. "They play the Jack Stone variation of the game here at Hogwarts. You and your opponent have four snaps to try and get your stone closest to the Jack Stone there in the middle. Closest stone gets the point and the loser gets covered in smelly goo. Winning team is the one that scored the most points...and usually the ones covered in less goo."
She hadn't observed enough matches before to figure out how to play? Huh. Interesting. It wasn't rocket science after all.

Oh goodness her green eyes snapped up to the yelling. Not that it was bad, no she smiled once the initial startled left. "Oh Adi it's fine, it's very nice to see you cheering on your friend." Even more exciting to know it wasn't his house. She just adored seeing school unity. Looking back at Airey, she couldn't help but notice another similarity they had, "It really isn't. I was just having a conversation with Alexa Cambridge about this very thing."
"I hope you are enjoying the match Adi, you play as well don't you?" She thought she remembered that from last year when she had come to watch. Her eyes going back to the match. Wow was Zeke really doing a great job, but so was Thornton. The battle of the first years it seemed. "Such a young age to be so good. This is going to make for great competition in future years." Even though she wasn't about the sports competition she was very aware of it's importance to some.
Looking back to Airey she nodded, "I was more into the clubs that didn't involve sports. " She was a social butterfly, just not athletic. Listening intently to him she tried to remember everything he was saying. "That seems easy enough, but there has to be more complication then that. They look like they have strategies and things, not just send the stone to the place they want." Was that true, maybe she was trying to think too much into it. Her nose did scrunch though, "Goo, yes I saw that last term when I watched. That just sounds a bit messy." She wasn't sure she'd like the goo on her clothes or hair. Though she did smile and give Airey snaps, "Thank you for explaining it too me." She might not sound as dumb when she spoke to a certain person if she knew even just the basics.

Oh goody. The Professors didn't mind him. That meant he could go on SHOUTING as much as he liked. Especially since Adi had just realised little Zeke was also participating. Yes, cheers were in store for the Lion whom he had grown fond of.
And Zeke was on a roll! Man, that kid was good! "WAY TO GO, ZEKE!"
School spirit and comradery? Adi had not thought of that before. Heh. Well, he was here to change that a bit. Maybe others would eventually join in.
"Always, Professor,'' the Hufflepuff said, eyes on the match. "Especially now hat Quidditch isn't on, its basically the only opportunity I can cheer my friends on and be loud at the same time.'' Hehe. "Yes, I do play sometimes.'' He wasn't that good but he did try his best.

Was....the Divination professor implying that Miss Cambridge did NOT posses these things? Someone needed to check their crystal balls again - although he was ever so slightly biased when it came to the Head Girl. Not that he would ever admit to this out loud.
He simply nodded at her next comment, and hardly considered gobstones a sport. It was more physics than anything else. Although the gobs could be deceptive in the presence of science. Magic did that from time to time, turn science upside down on its head. Drove the astronomer batty. "Well, physics does play a heavy roll in all things rolled or thrown, so there is a bit of strategy involved there," he confirmed. Air friction combined with the friction from the playing surface and then the added goo and all. And now he was being reminded why he somewhat enjoyed the game. Much preferred quidditch. High intensity and slamming against others rather than rolling gobs and splattering stinky goo. "There is a clear learning curve with gobstones that some students never seem to get on board with. Throw things too hard and over compensating for friction. Things Mr. Zeke and Mr. Baines are having no trouble with."
Not surprising. He had found both first years to have a natural talent for scientific inquiry.
"You should give it a proper go sometime. I bought a few sets for the common room and I am sure there are some lying about the castle elsewhere." Heck, he might be willing to give the game a go now that he was suitless.
And then that was it and the Head of House was on his feet cheering and roaring in delight with the outcome.
"Well played Gryffindor!" he applauded as he did a little festive wiggle where he stood. "Congratulations Mr. Zeke!" More clapping and wiggling. "Stellar effort Ravenclaw and well done Mr. Baines!"
Oh sweet solstice, would you look at that? He had RED GOO on his pajamas. HE'D BEEN HIT! ASTRONOMER DOWN! ASTRONOMER DOWN! RED SHIRTING IN PROGRESS ALONG WITH OVERLY DRAMATIC FLAILING AND MAN SQUEEAKING!

Yes it was sad that Quidditch wasn't around anymore wasn't it? Though she wasn't sure how they could have a match without the pitch. "Well it is very sweet of you to cheer on your friends Adi." He was a very sweet child and cheering on other houses always made her beam and give snaps of course.
Turning to listen to Airey she nodded about the physic part and the strategy. "It does seem very interesting, I just might have to give it a go." She was always up for trying new things.
She turned her head just to see the last stone thrown and Gryffindor winning. "Oh WELL DONE GRYFFINDOR!! GREAT JOB RAVENCLAW!!" She snapped happily, but noticed the goo, "OHMYGOSH" it could make it clear over here. She giggled a bit was still snapping for the players. It was exciting to be around all the cheering and the excitement of the players.
"Here" She pulled her wand to clean up the mess, flicking it to clean up the goo. "All better?" She hoped at least. "Well it's been splendid sitting with you both, thank you for letting me sit with you." Beaming at them again she gave a little wave before heading out of the area.

He was having a moment, okay? It had been a while since he had playfully mimicked scenes from Star Trek (not since the time with Miss Wisteria in the planetarium really) and right now he was feeling the whole death of a red shirt right now. The goo was even red, so it could definitely pass for blood caused by some sort of an attack. Although most deaths were more from phaser hits, and those were just burn marks and blackened spots on uniforms. Oh well, that was what his imagination was for.
But then he was all cleaned up and that was that. Just as well. He was about to throw himself against the ground dramatically and say 'I'VE BEEN HIT!'
"Oh, yes, all...er...better," he said as he checked his pajamas. "I should be heading off as well."
And with one last salute to the Hufflepuff, the astronomer made his way out of the viewing area and back towards the Astronomy Tower. Maybe it was time to play with some action figures...hmmmmmm...

She had felt lost since that odd moment of finding herself not sure where she was. One moment she was in the Armour and the next she had been confused in the dungeons being told all these awful thins she had said and done. Her memories very fuzzy on interactions. She had remembered somethings like a distant dream. One that bothered her the most was a conversation with Leo. Had that really happened? She couldn't get the courage to ask him.
So the blonde made her way to the viewing area to watch him the match against Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. It was empty and she frowned, last term there were more fans that would come and watch, she wondered why this term seemed like less interest. Maybe there was a way to put spirit into the school over Gobstones. Though the Divination Professors on pep had been faulty since the enchantment.
Finding her seat she munched on an apple. Odd thing apples, she never cared for them until recently.

Gobstones.
He was a terrible spectator, and so he hadn't considered popping in to watch. BUT, that was before he considered the fact that they might soon play Hufflepuff. Best to get a look at the opposition, no?
Entering the viewing area, Zeke fumbled forward, knocking into seats as he passed, until he reached one in the front. Professor CrazyPantsLetsKillSnow was here too... would she, be mad if he hadn't found/captured/killed her yet? It was homework after all. Mmm... maybe he'd just, ignore. Ignoring was safe... and oohh loook! Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw were close! This was interesting.
"Woooooo...." ... people. He didn't know who he was cheering, so it didn't last long. See. Terrible spectator. "Go Thornton! Go Adi!".... ahem.

Gobstones! And her own house playing, even better. She had tried to drag Jason over to watch, but he would have none of it. The old stigma attached to the game would be hard to get rid of, apparently. Nonetheless here she was, ready to watch some badger booty be kicked, pardon the language.
"Cassiopeia, good to see you. I hear you haven't quite been feeling yourself lately. Better now, I trust?"
Awww Yeah, It was time for Gobstones! Andrew always had a hard time putting time aside for Quidditch matches, but there was always room for a quick game of Gobstones! Finding a seat next to the closest Ravenclaw he saw, he shot a look up towards the math. Would you look at that! Ravenclaw was currently leading by a single point. "Come on, Ravenclaw!" Andy gave a quick cheer as a jolt of excitement rushed through him.
Adi, the Hufflepuff Prefect was playing against them however, and he wasn't half bad at Gobstones. It was going to be a tough round.

It had been the strangest thing to wake up the other morning with her hair blonde and as long as it was. Almost like she had been the first to fall asleep at a slumber party and get pranked.. though she didn't remember the party. She didn't remember much of the past few days - or was it weeks - it seemed. It was a odd feeling to say the least but nothing else seemed out of the ordinary so maybe she was just having one of those memory episodes when she left Ophelia off of her silencing charm for too long.
Nessa tried to shrug it off and thought a distraction was needed for the day. Wasn't there a Gobstones match today? She thought she had seen a notice for her old house to play a game, so hopefully her memory wasn't messing with the dates as well. She headed out to the viewing area and smiled lightly seeing a few others already there. "Hello, Zeke," she greeted him cheerfully before looking up at one of her colleagues. "Nice to see you Tiara." Hmm, had she been a Ravenclaw? That seemed vaguely familiar and she chuckled to herself wondering if there would be a little friendly competition between the staff.
Sliding into the seat next to Cassie, she smiled a bit bigger for her best friend. But said friend seemed a bit off or distant. Had something happened in the past few days, had she said something? She searched her mind a moment, there was something..but it wasn't clear. Maybe it would present itself. "Hellooo, Cassie!" she sang a bit, putting on a confident face though she wasn't exactly feeling that way. "Who's winning?" The brunette peered towards the arena. She couldn't quite tell.

Oh the match was starting, "Go Hufflepuff, Good job Ravenclaw" She was going to fully pay attention this time and not be distracted. Then she caught the smile and wave. Her cheeks flushed as she remembered that dream like haze of a memory on her last conversation with Leo. Maybe it really was just a dream and she didn't call him anything mean or tell him to eat her food. Yes that's it, it was a dream. All the foggy memories were a dream.
Realizing her focus had already left the match she noticed someone else sitting near her, "Hello Zeke" She gave a big smile as she bit her apple once more. "How are you today." Her eyes moved back to him the match. Oh that was a good move wasn't it? She clapped and hoped she was clapping for the correct thing.
Hearing someone else her eyes turned, "Hello Tiara, yes I guess I'm feeling more like myself again." She was assuming Annie had told others about her little episode in the Dungeon, or maybe... maybe the fuzzy memories weren't dreams. Snapping back to look at Leo, "Tiara, what did you hear about me not feeling myself?" Her thoughts distracted by cheering again.
"Hello" she greeted the Ravenclaw (Andrew) that had joined them. Then she noticed her best friend coming their way and gave a wave. "Oh I'm not sure really." She giggled a bit, "I was trying to pay attention, but I'm a little distracted." She blushed at her own words a bit, but figured her friend would figure it out. "Plus I was socializing and trying to find out what went on the last few weeks." She was so confused by this.

Penelope was planning on at least watching the gobstones match, and participating in the match if she could. She looked around at the people watching the match, and one face in particular caught her eye. The last time she had seen the divination professor, Professor Cassie had been possessed. Queen Cassie hadn't been very nice, but people seemed to become un-possessed after a while, so maybe Professor Cassie was back to herself now. It didn't look like the divination professor was dressed up as a fairy tale character or calling everyone peasants. Professor Cassie probably didn't even remember what happened.
She made her way over to Professor Cassie. "Professor Cassie!" Penelope wrapped her arms around Professor Cassie in a tight hug and stayed there. It was good to see Cassie. The Ravenclaw girl still had the bits of parchment from the snap cup. She would have to bring those by Professor Cassie's office later so the divination professor could see them. Unlike the queen that the divination professor had been possessed by, the real Professor Cassie would actually appreciate everyone's proud moments that went in the snap cup. For now, Penelope was just going to stay here, clinging to Professor Cassie. Tears rolled down her cheeks. "I missed you so much."
Tiara did a quick check. Where were her Ravenclaws? She understood the game wasn't as popular as Quidditch, but surely students liked to come out and support their friends, yes? Andrew had settled in his seat and was eagerly awaiting the next move when he was addressed by someone on his left. Someone who knew his name! "Hello!" He replied quickly, turning his attention back and forth from the game to the person he vaguely recalled from Quidditch. "Yes, let's!" He gave a chuckle and then a loud cheer towards the match.

Excellent. There was definitely some very strange things going on in this castle, so it was good to hear that Cassie was over this. Or perhaps she wasn't? She seemed a bit.. jumpy. Time to soothe her for sure. "Not much. I just know several people have had personality changes recently and you were one of them. But I like the current Cassiopeia, so I am glad she is here - hopefully to stay."

She smiled. Tiara was proud to see this eagle cheering on his housemates. "Oh, good roll Mister Baines!" This was much better than the last match already! "Clap worthy, if you ask me," she remarked to Andrew.

Andrew furiously applauded his housemate's efforts, cheering them on as best he could. "Let's go, Ravenclaw, we can still do this!" He yelled as the badgers overtook them by two points. He turned his attention up towards Tiara again and nodded enthusiastically. "I'm way ahead of you!" He chuckled. Remembering how he'd received very little support from the viewing area the one time he'd tried to play, he thought it best to cheer too much rather than too little.

"Cassiopeia, good to see you. I hear you haven't quite been feeling yourself lately. Better now, I trust?"

Andy gave a quick cheer as a jolt of excitement rushed through him.
Adi, the Hufflepuff Prefect was playing against them however, and he wasn't half bad at Gobstones. It was going to be a tough round.
He was watching, and then he wasn't. Nope... there were more people here now!
Zeke glanced their way, but didn't say anything. They kept to themselves, so he'd do the same.
It was amazing how close the game was though, and as Ravenclaw's they must be both nervous and excited and just ON THE EDGE OF THEIR SEATS!... or not... whatevs.
SPOILER!!: Glendower and Cassie

Again, his attention had returned to the match were the next rolls were made.. but soon he saw movement in his peripheral and his attention was stolen once more. This time it was a nicer surprise. "Hi Professor Glendower!" he greeted brightly. The woman had spared him the courtesy of a hello, and even though he thought her dress ups were WEIRD and stuff, he still thought she was NICE.
Of course, Professor Cassie had been nice too... until... everything else. And come to think of it, didn't she have a go at Glendower over something??? Weird.
"I'm alright..." he started, nodding. "How're you? You know, now?...." now that she didn't seem hell bent on killing off some snow white girl.
