That's right folks, come on in a Gobstones match between two of your favorite Hogwarts houses is taking place and you don't want to miss it or the prime seats up front! The room that plays host to the Gobstones matches has a few rows of raised seats along each of the long side walls, leaving plenty of room in the middle for the players to shoot for the Jack Stone.
Find a place to cheer on your house or whichever house you want to win because these players may not be brawny Quidditch jocks (or they might just be) but they still deserve the support!
OCC Note:?????, the rest of staff and I (Nordic Witch) are going to do our best to keep an eye in this thread as Matches progress, although it is no longer a moderated thread. Remember all SS School RPG and site rules apply here. Thank you very much for watching!

GOBSTONES!
Like, Moxley preferred gobstoppers if she was going for a gob-type activity but she figured she might as well make an appearance. The brunette settled down in her seat just in time and as she observed the students, she couldn't help but think there was something missing here.
Snack stand.
Muggles were big on those, she'd noticed, and boy could she use some chocolate or something right now. Bit of a snacker, Moxley was. Oh well.
Paul's Hufflepuff's were playing today, against his actual house, RAVENCLAW. His heart was a bit torn in half here...outwardly, though, he was cheering for his badgers! He stepped into the viewing area and saw none other than Meredith! He smiled and took the seat RIGHT next to her.
"Hi, Meredith! What a lovely day for Gobstones!" Since it was an inside sport, everyone day was a lovely day for Gobstones, but that didn't negate his statement! He chuckled to himself. "Ravenclaw is winning, then?" he asked as he tried to catch the score. "This is such a tear in my heart, Meredith...my house against my former house..." it was so sad. SO SAD. He sighed SADLY.

Just being here wasn't enough, she was meant to be paying attention, TOO? Oops. She was just going to go with what Paul said and nooood her head. Yes. Ravenclaw. Mhm.
"Buck up, Paul! I won't tell anyone if you cheer for both." She'd done that last term whenever Gryffindor and Hufflepuffs had to battle. The Moxinator had enough cheer for ALL. "You didn't happen to bring any food with you, did you?"

Ah... Gobstones. His time leading up to commencing his post at Hogwarts had kept him indoors for the most part. Now that he was here, however, he decided to go outside. Get some vitamin D. But not without a very high spf sunblock and a hat.
He had kept Madame Curie in her cardboard box home, because she definitely hated being outdoors, and he didn't have a pocket big enough for her to hide in.
He walked over to Headmistress Meredith Moxley, and Hufflepuff Head of House, Herbology Professor, and almost classmate, Paul Myers. He sat down next to them and was silent for a while, taking in everything that was around them, watching the first few players on the field, before turning to them and saying "Hello Headmistress Moxley, Professor Myers. L-lovely day. The weather," he looked up at the sky, squinting, "Bit... bit warm for my liking." But the greenery, the castle, the sights, well... they were worth battling the negative aspects of the weather.

GOBSTONES!! Arista loved gobstones it was almost as fun as wizard's chess. The game wasn't a Gryffindor game but she figured she might as well go because why not, it was fun!! The redhead made it just as the game began.
She was equally Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff but she was kind of hoping for the Ravenclaws she had a bet going on with Thomas.
She grabbed onto her purse as she walked through the stands, and look there was so many professors!!
"HEY PROFESSOR MYERS!!!" Ahem, what? Calm down Arista.... "How do you do Headmistress Moxley?" she asked giving a small curtsey. AND LOOK IT WAS PROFESSOR NEWTON!!! That guy was cool. "Professor Newton! How are you!!?" This time she asked all the Professors (and Headmistress) "Who are you rooting for Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw.." Realizing they might not want to say she added [b]"If you can't say, blink twice for Hufflepuff and cough for Ravenclaw.
Really, though. He was having a rough time! Maybe he would just cheer for both. But then...what if his little badgers got their feelings hurt?! Ugh. This was so hard. The life of a Ravenpuff was so HARD.
"I..might just do that...and yes--I always bring popcorn to these parties!" he pulled a bag out of his enchanted satchel and pushed the huge bag of popcorn towards Meredith. "Eat as much as you want, m'dear!" he smiled.
Oh look, it was Arthur! His white-haired fellow! Paul waved eagerly at him, almost childlike, and wrapped his cardigan more tightly around himself. "It's nice to see you, Art!" He nodded and turned back to look at the game. He really had lost track of who was winning snd whatnot now...HA. "Goooooo BADGERS!" he fist bumped. "Goooooooo EAGLES!" and no fist bump, just to show a LITTLE favoritism for his puffers.
A very enthusiastic student made her presence known, but Paul thought it was great! The more enthusiasm, the better! "Hello there, Arista!" he waved. "I guess I will go ahead and cheer for both. At least for now..." he smirked.

Lucy was really trying to find her way back to the common room when she got very very lost. She was just starting to panic about it when she spotted a group of people...here, wherever here was. That only made her panic that she was missing a class or something. Especially because of the abundance of adults that seemed to be present.
Lucy rushed over to join them. In any case, they'd be able to help her find her way. As she got closer, she realized they weren't teaching a class, which only made her curious about what was going on. Thankfully, she recognized one of the adults. She went over to the man and quietly looked at what he was looking at.
Was she allowed to be here? What was happening?

"Don't have to tell me twice." All she'd needed was the invitation and Meredith dived into the bag of popcorn with both hands, munching away. She knew there was a reason she liked Paul so much. Guy had a good brain and so did she and he'd read her mind by bringing food, even if she didn't agree with the 'party' bit. Her idea of a party didn't involve gobstones, just saying.
Art was kind of an odd duck but Moxley liked ducks so she was all smiles when the potions professor joined them. "Prefer the cold, eh? Don't you worry, we'll have plenty of that this term." It was never too warm for Moxley. She was a fan of the sun and she looked extra fabulous in sunglasses which was a bonus. "Care for some popcorn?" Paul wouldn't mind.
GRYFFINDOR ENTHUSIASM! Moxley was a fan and she waved cheerfully at the Gryffindor who'd turned up to cheer for her classmates. That's the kind of school spirit she liked to SEE. "I'm with Professor Myers, Miss Royal. What about you?"
And look at that little one! Awwwww. Meredith wiggled her fingers at the first year and then nudged Paul. "One of yours, isn't it?"

Arista had been looking at the game when she heard Professor Myers say something about cheering. Oh yeah that was right. "That sounds good, not showing favoritism, kids get jealous these days." She chuckled before looking back at the game to see Ravenclaw get the point.
The redhead gave a huge grin to the headmistress! "I quite agree! I love both houses equally and it doesn't seem right to just cheer for one. Plus its more fun when you can cheer for both houses!" Unless it was Gryffindor then she would always cheer for them. Always.
Little one? Turning more around she saw a young one. Eeep!! Arista waved cheerily. "Hi!!! Are you here to watch the game? Gobstones is such a fun game?!!" She looked back at the game to see Ravenclaw gain some more points, "Woot!! Go Claws!! and You got this Puffers!!!" Putting her attention back on the young one she saw she was a puff, "So you're a first year? Hufflepuff is an awesome house! How are you liking it so far."
Paul held out the popcorn further so Meredith could more easily get it. He always liked to bring popcorn to the Gobstone Matches because he liked to munch on things at events such as this. And popcorn...was really neat. FUN TO SAY AND FUN TO EAT!
At her words, he looked over at the young first year and waved her over. "Lucy!" he smiled warmly. "It's lovely to see you here, m'dear! Would you like some popcorn?" and he tore the bag away from Meredith to push it towards Lucy. "Come sit, come sit!" He gestured at any of the seats nearby.
Heh, Meredith, pls. Offering his popcorn to other people! Paul didn't mind. He actually found it quite hilarious. "Go ahead, Art! Eat away!"
"And you, too, Miss Royal! Take as much popcorn as you want!" he said and gestured at the bag. Sharing was caring, and Paul felt GOOD when he shared his good things (like popcorn!). "And yes, exactly! I don't want anyone to think I'm...not fair."

So yes, she was arriving halfway into the match. She had been battling internally with herself over whether or not to attend. Part of her wanted to stay away and just let Leobald take over and do his thing. The other part - the part that won out eventually - just loved to watch Gobstones matches and support Ravenclaw. So here she was.
She took a seat behind her colleagues and tried to blend in, however one did such a thing.

Everyone could chill now, the Sports Editor of the Year Book committee was here!
Zeke slipped into the stands and snagged himself a seat at the back of the crowd - which coincidently seemed to be made up of a lot of Professor's, good on them for caring. He didn't, but he did well at pretending that he did.
Watching Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw take their respective rolls, it brought back memories of the days when he used to play. He didn't miss them. The game just wasn't for him.

Arriving in what had become his ceremonious gobstones attire, the Gryffindor Head of House too a seat right in front to watch the action. Well 'action'. It wasn't like his house was playing Parrises squares.
"ROAR ROAR GRYFFINDOR!" he cheered from his seat while throwing Pebbles an approving nod. It was a rather nice shot, didn't she agree?

Rachel had no idea how she had ended up being Player of the Match for the previous match when she had only barely taken part in any Gobstones match in her eleven years. She had honestly expected Jace to get the title but she reasoned it was the final question of the match that had gotten it. That had been a very lucky toss on her part.
Today she found herself at the Viewing area. She was curious to see how good or bad the Gryffindor and Slytherin teams were. Dressed in a light pink dress with matching slippers and hair in the regular two plaits, she stepped in. She spotted her dear Head of House as well as the Groundskeeper whom she appreciated more than ever ever since that he stopped Haddie from convincing her to go further into the Forest.
There was the Gryffindor Head present too. Rachel smiled warmly at him. “Hello, Professor Flamsteed. You look rather dashing in that suit.’’ She always did appreciate well dressed persons. The girl took a seat after smoothing her dress beneath her, her eyes on the teams. By the looks of it the match had already gotten started.

"LOOK ALIVE LIONS!" the head of house roared as each toss seemed to get edged out by those thrown by Slytherin. Waving his arms about and clapping wildly for a few moments, the astronomer eventually sat down again while the groundskeeper set up for the next round.
"Thank you, Miss Watson," he nodded to the first year. Even if some of his colleagues couldn't appreciate his suitable fashion sense. "Rooting for any particular side?"
There really was only one answer to that question. For the record.

Spencer was excited for the Gobstones game, went all out for the game, he was wearing his red Gryffindor shirt with his blue jeans and red converses that he painted a yellow lion. He also had his banner that he told Professor Flamsteed that he'll make for this occasion. Looking at Professor Flamsteed he smiled. "Hello Professor, great day for a game of Gobstones don't you think? "asked Spencer. He turned to Rachel and smiled at her. "Fancy seeing you again Rachel, who are you cheering for? "Spencer asked her.

Rachel giggled at the sight of Professor Flamsteed waving his arms about. He never failed to amuse her. She did join him in clapping but her clapping was meant for both Houses. "I think a nice red rose would complement that suit perfectly, Professor, if you pin it to your shirt.'' Without further ado, she moved her wand in a circular fashion. ''Orchideous.'' She had been practicing this spell ever since she arrived at Hogwarts and was not disappointed when a rose, brighter than the shade of the suit, blossomed from her wand. "For you, Professor. I do hope you're not allergic to flowers.'' Rachel held out the rose.
At that moment, another lion arrived. "Hello, Spencer. As I was about to tell Professor Flamsteed, I'm not cheering for any House in particular. They're both playing excellently.'' Rachel couldn't wait to see which of them would be playing Ravenclaw next. "Spencer, your banner is beautiful. Did you create it by yourself?'' She certainly loved the creativity behind it.

Not rooting for anyone in particular? Well, that meant only ONE thing. Miss Watson was utilizing that eagle vision to observe her house's competitors and look for any cracks in their foundations. It was rather obvious, although the professor kept his expression neutral and - dare he say it? - even appreciative.
Hey, she wasn't rooting against Gryffindor and that was something, after all.
But he was being gifted a rose, which only reminded him of a certain someone's birthday being just around the corner and that he needed to get himself organized to execute his plans. "Oh, uh, thank you, Miss Watson," he replied with an appreciative bow of the head. "Practice?" Or....why was he being offered a flower?
He accepted it regardless.
"Yes, did you make that yourself?" he inquired of Mr. Criswell. "It is very impressive. Have you thought about using a charm to animate the lion to roar?" Hint hint.

Rachel turned her attention back to the game for a moment. The Snakes seemed to be in control up until that point when Gryffindor gained momentum. She applauded excitedly for both teams and for the effort and competition they were putting up. "Your students are excellent players, Professor Flamsteed,'' she observed.
The Eagle smiled. "A little of both. I think your suit will be complete with it if you just magic it onto shirt's front.'' Or if he preferred to keep it in a jar of water. Flowers were a beautiful thing.
Her eyes shifted to Spencer and his banner. Surely the banner would boost they Gryffindor team's confidence if they saw it. However, at this rate, it seemed Ravenclaw would be playing Slytherin in the final match.

Yay, Gobstones! Carl loved this game. Although Hufflepuff had lost in the previous match, he had enjoyed it greatly and was willing to watch and improve for his next one. However, he was a bit late in arriving and it appeared that the match was almost over. Ugh.
Seeing a group of supporters, Carl smiled and took a seat next to Professor Flamsteed. "Hello, Professor. And hi, I am Carl." He said to the boy he did not know. It was obvious that he was a Lion, with the beautiful banner and all. Thumbs up for great House spirit! "Rachel! I never got a chance to congratulate you on Player of the Match. Good job!" He grinned at his friend. With that, he turned his attention to the match. Was Slytherin winning? Gryffindor seemed to be catching up in the final round, though.
So much excitement!

Jace got himself a seat at the very front, obviously excited to see his friends play Gobstones. For a hobbyist, Jace thought he did well during their last match against Hufflepuff and the event inspired him to join the team once more for the Championship round. Besides, he promised Rachel he'll be there.
The Ravenclaw gave both teams a series of claps, and when the match started, he tightened his 'Ichiban / Number 1' Hachimaki around his head, and got his packet of seaweed crisps from under his jacket. While opening the snack, his eyes were glued on Ava. He surely could learn a thing or two from her.

Rachel was right behind Jace as he entered the Gobstones Viewing area though he may not have known it. Today, she was dressed in a light pink, knee length dress with one of her favourite sweaters over it. The sweater had been embroided with Belle and the Beast. Her hair was in its signature two plaits and on her feet were a pair of rainbow coloured slippers.
Entering the Viewing Area, she smiled at Mr Kitridge and Mr McLeod. She could see quite a few of her friends from Hufflepuff and Gryffindor ready to take on the battle for third and fourth paces respectively.
"Hello, Jace.'' Rachel smiled again as she took a seat beside him. She liked the look he sported for the match. "Which House are you rooting for?''

"Ohayo, Rachel-san."Jace cheerfully greeted Rachel as soon as she was sat beside him. He was expecting her to be around since...well, the next round of Gobstones is for the Champ's cup, and it was now up for grabs between Slytherin and Ravenclaw.
"I'm impartial to both teams. There is no use for me to side with a team at the moment really." spoken like a junior diplomat. "Seaweed crisps? It's awfully good." he said offering the bag to her. "How about you though? Whose side are you on?" he asked. "Or...are you here to spy?" Jace's eyes bearing the slightest sign of mischief.
But before Rachel could answer, Mr. Kitridge announced the first point for everyone to hear. Jace placed the bag of crisps in between him and Rachel, and clapped his hands as loud as he could above his head. "Well done, Ava-san!"
