| | |  Giant Lilypad Jumping!
 A section of the lake has been especially set up for a round of Giant Lilypad Jumping. The Victoria Amazonica has been grown especially for the event and have been strategically arranged at the edge of the lake. The water here is relatively shallow, so you do not run the risk of drowning or being dragged beneath the surface by the lakes inhabitants.
Each of the lilypads are numbered, and each of them also have a value assigned to them. These may vary from one point to four points, and the aim of the game is to make it across the lake from the starting position to the finishing line at the opposite end where you jump back onto dry land. Everyone wins a prize, but depending on the number of points you accumulate will determine how good a prize you receive.
Though it may seem easy enough you should tread carefully. The lilypads might be big, and are certainly capable of holding your weight, but they are also slightly slippery and a little springy underfoot. At any rate if you do fall in the late and get wet, then it will be a refreshing wake up call. If this happens, just pull yourself back up and have another crack --even if you are wet.
Be sure to pace yourselves as this task is quite a feat, especially considering the sheer size of these GIANT lilypads. Balance is key. Good luck competitors. The Rules: - This is an RP game, and you are required to RP your character crossing the section of lake by jumping across the lilypads.
- You must do this in 11 jumps! 10 jumps onto lilypads and the last one back onto dry land.
- You may not use magic to gain an advantage or to disadvantage others.
- You may not interfere with anyone else's jumping.
- You MUST not exceed 10 lilypads-- this will result in disqualification.
- This must be done in 5 RP posts of at least one paragraph in length (about 4 lines).
- When jumping onto the lilypads you must state in the RP what number the lily has been assigned (not the value-- only staff members know what the value is)
- The lilypads you are jumping to and from MUST be touching, whether they are side by side or diagonal. (See the map provided)
- The prizes will be announced at the end of the event.
- Most importantly, have fun.

Only a few more lilypads to go and Kurumi would be on dry land again. Well, not that she wasn't technically on dry land right now. So, more like she would be on nonsquishy land. There really were only two choices in front of her now, but the next lilypad would be the more difficult decision. Did she jump on the lilypad that would give her more options? Or should she jump on the lilypad that gave her a clearer path? Choosing the smoothest course? Or complicate things more?

She already complicated things enough on her own, so going for something easier would be a good idea. Jumping onto lilypad 25 and then quickly proceeded to lilypad 29 before her lack of balance caught up with her. All that was left now was to jump onto the bank and she was done! Leaning forward to jump, the lilypad beneath her move backwards as she went forwards and her limbs moved on their own freewill despite her brain telling her to stop. Sprawling, Kurumi tumbled onto the bank and rolled several times before coming to a stop on her back. Not the most graceful of landings, but at least she had managed to finish the task.
Rolling onto her side, Kurumi pushed herself off the ground and attempted to dust herself off. She then waved to Professor Bentley and saw that Jezz had finished as well. "Congratulations to you," Kurumi waved. The first year deserved a cookie, which Kurumi was more than happy to give her.

Just one more jump away from ground. Thank Merlin.
She leapt and landed, falling over and doing a sort of ninja roll on the ground. She stood up and swept herself off. So much for being graceful Glenn.
At least she had made it. She was on ground again, not those lily pads that wobbled and made you slide off. She shuddered. She was NOT doing that again. No way. She still had grass in her curly blonde hair, she tried to pick it out before giving up and sitting down to watch everyone else's progress.

After playing the treasure plunge game in the lake, Quentin felt like playing another lake game, or one that had the risk of falling in. She did love risks. She walked around the shore a little more eventually coming to a giant lily pad leaping game, that looked like fun. "Good morning Professor." she greeted her head of house before tying her hair and taking her jacket off just in case she fell- which with her balance was very likely.
Quentin took one step back and gave a small running start towards number 1. That seemed like the number to start on. She landed uncharacteristically gracefully, meaning she didn't fall head first into the lake and managed to stay partially dry, only getting water in her shoes as the lily pad tipped a little.
Number 6 was next. She took a breath and jumped. Quentin landed unsteadily, she tried to regain her balance in a circus like way, failing her arms and eventually falling on her behind.

Vlimia was on lilypad number twelve, and looked around for a sturdy-looking lilypad. Number sixteen seemed okay, so she took a little hop over there. Instantly her shoes seemed to lose grip altogether, and Vlim quickly jumped over to lilypad number fifteen. At least this one was rather dry. Vlimia decided to be a little more careful this time, and to choose a sturdy, dry one.

Alyssa looked as the other student took their turn leaping from one lily pad to another. It didn't look that hard after all. It was like balancing on a surf board only there were no waves to push her off. So Alyssa studied the sequence of lily pads before she got ready to take her first leap. She ran a couple of steps back and then took off at a run. As she reached the edge of the lake, she kicked off and landed on Lily Pad 2. The moment she landed on it, she quickly went into a crouching position, to help maintain her center of gravity. Once she no longer felt Lily Pad stop wobbling, Alyssa slowly stood up and studied the next pad to land on. She decided to go for Lily Pad Number 6.
Slowly balancing herself and going as far back as she could to the edge of the pad she was on without falling off, Alyssa took 2 quick running steps and kicked off and landed on the pad she was aiming for. Once she landed, she immediately crouched down again, to help keep her balance and not fall off. Now for the next Lily Pad.

Falling over wasn't going to deter Quentin, she got up, steaded herself and prepared to jump to lily pad 9. She jumped just in time, someone else landed just where she had just been. This time Quentin managed to stay on her feet, she was getting used to the unsteady lily pads.
Now she had to chose between two pads, deciding to keep a pattern going she chose number 14. She landed crouching like a wild cat, 'like a lion' she thought to herself, allowing a little giggle at the house pun.

Sierra stood on solid ground and peered out at the lilypads before her. She'd never actually jumped on one of them before, but she was pureblood enough to have known her whole life that this type of floating leaf existed. Well, a type that you could literally jump on, at least...
She continued to stare out at them for as far as she could see. They seemed never-ending, but she at least knew there was solid ground somewhere on the opposite side. ...but what if she jumped on one, and it fell through? Or, what if it floated away?
Psh. She was no Puffer. She could handle this. Besides, everyone else was doing it. So she jumped off the ground, randomly landing on lilypad three. For a moment, she just stood there, frozen while she waited to see if she'd stay in place. Nothing happened, so she relaxed a bit and jumped again, this time landing on number six.

Seeing two other Gryffindors finishing pushed Quentin to keep jumping and stay steady. Her next jump to number 17 was a little wobbly, but she was still on her feet at the end of it. Next up was 22. She pushed her damp hair out of her eyes, took one step back and pushed off.
She landed almost perfectly. Now it was only two more to go and she'd be back on dry land.

Now that Alyssa was standing on lily pad#6, she decided to leap onto lily pad# 10 which was just to the right of the one she was on now. Slowly getting up from her crouching position, Alyssa stood up and took two small steps making sure that she didn't get to close to the edge of the pad. Then in 2 quick step, Alyssa leaped stretching her right front leg to land first on the pad, which was followed closely by her left leg. She immediately resumed her crouching position until the pad stopped rocking and she had regained her balance. Now for the next lily pad.
Alyssa picked Lily Pad#14 which lay just to the left of pad#10. Alyssa slowly stood up from her crouching position, took two steps and almost lost her balance when the pad suddenly rocked backwards under her weight. She immediately took a step forward, and fell to her knees with her hands touching the pad to get back her balance. 'Whew that was a close call,'Alyssa thought to herself. Once the lily pad stopped rocking, Alyssa slowly stood up and taking one step back this time, she quickly took one big step forward and leaped off the pad landing on the Lily Pad 14 with first her right foot and then her left. Okay she had made it this far, 6 more pads to go.

Almost there. So close. Three more jumps and she would be on dry land.
With the grace of a newly woken sloth she jumped onto pad 25. She landed on her knees and slid across to the other side, only just managing to stay on. And now her lower legs were wet too. Oh well. Pad 25 awaited her. She got up and steadied herself before jumping across.
One more jump.

Alyssa decided that she was going to slow for this game and needed to speed up. So she looked at the lily pads near her and decided to leap from her current Lily pad to Lily Pad#13 and then Lily Pad#17. Carefully standing up, Alyssa took two small steps back and then ran forward taking one step before launching herself and landing on Lily Pad#13. Without a moment's pause ,she then continued her forward motion taking another running step before leaping and landing onto Lily Pad#17. Landing with both feet at the same time, she immediately went into a crouching position with her hands lying flat on the lily pad.

Land was so close she could practically taste it. One more lily pad then she was on dry land.
Just as she jumped something hit the bottom of the pad she was on, the threw her off balance, but she still made to to number 30. It just wasn't how she expected to land, she landed on her stomach with her face inches from the water. Well that failed. But at least she was on. Standing carefully she prepared for her last jump.
And she'd made it! Now to wait for the prizes, she would be super happy with a beard, she'd be walking around with it on until it fell apart knowing her.

After Alyssa had rested for a few minutes catching her breath, she was ready to tackle the next two Lily Pads. She looked at the nearest pads around her and decided to go for Lily Pad#18 and #22. She decided to adopt the same manoevre that she had used before. Standing up slowly, Alyssa took 2 steps backwards before taking a big step forward and kicking off on her left foot. She stretched her right leg forward and landed safely on Lily Pad#18 with her right foot. Then without slowing down her momentum, she took another step forward and kicked off on her left foot again, stretching out her right leg towards Lily Pad#22. Her right food landed squarely in the middle of the pad and followed closely by her left foot. She then immediately crouched down to steady herself. She placed her hands flat on the pad to stop the pad from rocking. 'Two more Lily Pads before I reach the finishing line' Alyssa thought to herself.

Vlimia was still indecisive on what liypad to jump on. The looked around, and spotted lilypad number nineteen. It looked fairly dry, quite stable if she jumped right at the side, since it was tipping a little. Vlim crossed her fingers hopefully, and jumped right onto the left side of liypad nineteen. She felt so good! Careful planning and good judgement won out in the end. But it did take a long time. Her next jump was going to be random.

Alyssa stood up after resting and got ready to finish this game. All she had to do was to leap from the pad she was on, to Lily Pad#26 and #30. She decided to adopt the same maneuver as she had before. So taking two small steps back, she took one big step forward kicking off with her right leg and stretching out with her left leg, she leaped forward, landing on her left leg on Lily Pad#26. Without a moment's pause, Alyssa immediately took another step with her right foot and kicking off on that, she stretched out her left leg again, landing on Lily Pad#30 with that same leg. Her right leg immediately and she crouched down to get her balance and stop the pad from rocking before getting up and crossing over the Finish line.
She was finally on dry land. Now all she had to do was to wait for the judges to award the points.

As Sierra began to lose a bit of her balance, she extended her arms wide, trying to keep herself from falling. It was way too early on in the game to fall flat on her face and have to start over. She eyed the lily pads before her, mentally assessing them and determining which one she'd like to hop onto next.
Finally, she pushed herself off the sixth lily pad and jumped toward number ten. For some reason, she'd built herself up to believe it would either sink or float fast away from the sudden pressure she'd put on it. To her surprise, though, it stayed right in place, so she quickly assessed the lily pads now ahead of her. Which one now? Hmm? Hmm?
Going by her instinct alone, she jumped forward again, this time moving on to number fifteen.

From lilypad nineteen, Vlimia had quite a good view of the other lilypads. Some near her looked good, so she went ahead and hopped onto lilypad number twenty-four. It was a little slippery, but not too bad. As she felt herself losing balance, she quickly leaped towards lilypad number twenty-seven. Luckily, this one was exceedingly dry and safe. Vlimia sighed, relieved. She was so close to the end!

Sierra stood there, lingering on lily pad fifteen, while she surveyed the area around her. Hmm... Now which one to go to next? They all looked inviting, only, some lily pads were worth much more than others? Sierra had tried to guess which ones might look lucky enough to be worth a lot of points, but there was nothing that distinguished one from the other.
Not really knowing what else to do, Sierra jumped to the side of her, landing easily on lily pad number fourteen. The next choice was easy. Her birthday was March 17, so number seventeen had to be lucky for her. That was the hope, at least. She pushed herself off number fourteen, jumped high, and landed on number seventeen.

She jumped to lilypad number thirty-one and almost jumped up and down with joy... but didn't. That wasn't a good idea on water. But she was excited that she was so close to solid ground. Vlim closed her eyes and hopped onto the ground! YES! After that accomplishment, she looked around for another game to play...

When Bentley's voice boomed out across the water, Sierra's eyes quickly widened. This was ending soon?! ...but. ...but. She still hadn't finished! Insert mild panic, and Sierra rarely panicked. She'd worked too hard at this to end up not even finishing, though.
She sighed to herself then glanced at the lily pads before her. According to what she'd counted out, she only needed to jump about four more times to make it across. Four. Four was a small number. This she could do. She was determined now. She'd jump. She'd make it. She would not fall.
Realizing she had little time left to get this done, she pushed herself off the lily pad she was on and landed on number twenty-two. Not even wanting to waste a second, she pushed herself off again, landing on number twenty-six this time.

From her spot on the lily pad, Sierra turned around to eye Bentley, making sure the woman wasn't going to stop the game anytime soon. Well, yeah, she actually would stop the game soon. She'd already said she would. She wasn't stopping it right now, though.
So Sierra turned back around and eyed the remaining lily pads. She'd been keeping track of how many lily pads she'd jumped on so far, and that number totaled to eight. So the next time she jumped, that'd be lily pad number nine, right? ...right.
She jumped quickly to the side and landed on lily pad number twenty-five. Looking across from her, she realized she'd almost reached the other side. Beaming ever-so-slightly, she jumped to number thirty. FINALLY. Dry land was just before her! Taking one last jump, her eleventh, Sierra landed perfectly on dry land.
All done.
...now. Who won?!

Jezzabelle held her nose biting teacup away at arms length. It was a great prize but it was not going to be biting up on her nose. She held the coin she had gotten in her other hand and smiled. Fifteen coins carried over from her awesome gambling skills with the Hippogriff's so this made sixteen, right? She smiled at Kurumi, "Congrats Kurumi! You got the most points."
