Selina dragged her feet as she walked down the first floor corridor. Now that she was back at school she was enjoying just wandering through the school that was her home for a majority of the year. But, alas, even though she had been at the Castle for four years, Selina was lost. She did not even know what she had done. One moment she was looking at portraits that she knew and conversed with often and then she made a wrong turn and now she was lost. How had this even happened?

So now she was tired and lost and really wanted nothing more than to go back to the Common Room to sleep. Two days down back at Hogwarts...

Laura was walking around the castle, she had decided that she was bored and she really wanted to meet Miss Ravenclaw Head Girl so she decided she would go and explore and hopefully run into her, if she did she would try and get an autograph off her.

Laura looked around and realised that this corridor was just about deserted, she had a funny feeling that many people probably could draw on the wall or stairs and they wouldn't be caught because there was no one close enough to catch them.

Walking up from the Great Hall, Vashti had decided to wander around for a little bit before heading straight for the common room - or perhaps the library. She needed to get some studying done for her NEWTs, but she wasn't sure whether she wanted to go to her house's common room or the library to do it. Both were great places to study, though the library was perhaps a bit quieter than the common room. Hm, decisions, decisions...

As she wandered down the first floor corridor, she noticed a rather young student who appeared to be looking around. Was she lost? "Need any help?" Vashti asked as she neared the girl. Didn't hurt to ask, right? Hogwarts was pretty big and easy to get lost in.

"No th..........." Laura suddenly realised that the girl had the head girl badge on, she looked at the girl in front of her. "Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh your a giant." Laura looked up. "And you look ancient to, what year you in?" Laura always thought older people.

"Miss Ravenclaw Head Girl." Laura smile. "Madame, can I have your autograph please, it would go well with my collection, I'm collecting famous peoples signitures and yours would go to the top of my collection since you are of course important."

"Miss Ravenclaw Head Girl." Laura bowed too the older lady in front of her. "Where you around when the dragons and dinosaurs where, I've always wanted to know what they were like." Laura laughed, she had no idea if this was a Professor in disguise but well she would find out soon enough.

Alyssa was walking along the first floor corridor when she spotted Laura talking with the Head Girl, Vashti. She couldn't help but overhear their conversation for despite the fact that Laura was young, she had one loud voice.

As Alyssa heard the conversation about dragons and dinosaurs, she bust up laughing, which she quickly had to disguise as a cough, when she heard Laura first remark that Vashti was ancient and then ask whether she had been around when the dinosaurs were around.

"Oh Laura, you sure don't mince your words,' Alyssa thought to herself, laughing silently.

Blink.

Blink.

Whaaaaaat?! A giant? And ANCIENT? She wasn't ancient! And she was pretty sure she didn't look it either. Or...Or did she?

"I... Seventh year," Vashti replied, still slightly stunned by the little girl's comments - and by the speed at which she talked. Vashti could barely get a word out before the girl kept going on and on. And she wanted her autograph?

That was something she hadn't heard since her fourth year when Jimmy had gone around asking the Ravenclaw Quidditch team for their autographs after winning the Championship. Vashti found it just as strange now as she did then. "Erm, I'm really not all that famous..." Or important really. She was Head Girl, sure, but she wasn't some sort of celebrity or anything, which was generally the people one wanted an autograph from.

Still she was continuing with the "Miss Ravenclaw Head Girl" thing...and now she was bowing?! And THEN she was back to calling her ancient by suggesting she'd been around when the dinosaurs were. That was probably the most ironic thing about this entire conversation - the girl seemed polite with all these titles she was using to address her (and bowing which was weird and unnecessary), and yet she also called her ancient. Then she laughed? Was this a prank or a joke or something?

But at least, finally, Vashti managed to find her voice. "Okay, look," she began, "First, you don't have to call me 'Miss Ravenclaw Head Girl' or 'Madame' or anything like that, and you definitely don't have to bow to me. I appreciate your respect-" what little of it she was actually getting "-but it's not necessary. You can just call me Vashti." Now onto the dragon/dinosaur thing. Vashti couldn't help smiling a little. "As a matter of fact, yes, I was around when dragons were - but so are you, considering there are plenty of dragons still around now. You may even learn about them in Care of Magical Creatures class if the professor decides to do a lesson on them." How funny it would be if the new professor actually did a lesson on dragons now? Vashti would be highly amused. "But the dinosaurs, no, I believe they became extinct long before I was born." Millions and millions of years before she was born.

Hearing a sudden burst of laughter/coughing that didn't come from the little first year, Vashti glanced around and spotted Alyssa. Had she heard what the firstie said? And she thought it was funny? Hmmm...

"Can I help you, Alyssa?" she asked. It wasn't polite to eavesdrop after all, so unless the third year needed her help...

"Oh no, Head Girl. I just wanted to pass through but I didn't want to pass in between the both of you. My mother told me that I should never do that and that was very rude. I can go around another way. Sorry for interrupting." Alyssa coughed again to clear her throat before she turned and walked back the way she came from.

Laura looked at the Head Girl and then at Alyssa, she smiled at the older Hufflepuff before turning back to the Head girl. "I can't call you Vashti." Laura looked shocked. "Your Miss Ravenclaw Head Girl, Madame." Laura smiled. "Though if you want you can call me Laura." She bowed at the older girl again, hopefully she would let her have an autograph later.

"WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Laura exclaimed. "I've read books about Dragons and Dinosaurs and they aren't around now are they?" Surely where would someone be able to hide a dragon, this was just one of them jokes that the older student was playing on her right.

Gwen walked down the corridor, as always carrying her heavy book bag around with her.
Suddenly she saw Laura, that annoying girl in her year who always gave the stupidest answers.
"Hey, you." Gwen said, feeling her cheeks tingle as always did when she was greatly irritated. She went up to the girl and tapped her curtly on the shoulder. "Why do keep losing us house points? It's really unnecessary."

Laura who had been talking to the Head Girl turn around when someone tapped her on the shoulder. "I feel like it." Laura smirked, she was annoyed that this girl who was in the same year as her could say something like that in front of the head girl. "Why what's wrong with a bit of fun, maybe you should try having some one day." Laura laughed. "It might make you look young instead of old like you do."

"I do have fun!" Gwen insisted, her nostrils flaring. "I just don't consider making myself look stupid and arrogant fun!" She practically spit out that last word, in mocking tones.
Gwen was furious! How dare this girl call her lame and old?!

"HOW DARE YOU CALL ME STUPID." Laura was really angry now this girl had no right to call her stupid, she wasn't stupid. "I've got more brain cells then you." Laura snapped, seriously Gwen most only have a few if she thought that Laura was stupid.

"I'll call you anything I want as long as you keep making us and all the other Hufflepuffs look like fools with your ridiculous answers!!!!!" shouted Gwen, feeling her voice get louder and louder and stomping her foot for emphasis. "At least I give proper answers!! How to stop a spell and all you come up with is stomping on the wand?! Really?! THAT'S THE SILLIEST THING I'VE EVER HEARD OF!" Then she let out a mocking laugh.

Laura was really angry now. "If I want to have some fun with my answers then I can." Laura snapped, it was only with great difficulty that Laura wasn't actually hitting the other girl. ""You think your someone don't you, but well I'm sorry to disappoint you I won't bow down to you or worship you or anything your just a little girl. Laura went and gave Gwen a little pat on the head.

Gwen was boiling! How could she just pat her on the head?! She swatted away Laura's arm with a smack and glared at her.
"I'm still not as conceited as you are," Gwen sneered. "At least I don't think I'm the queen of the castle, mucking about and embarrassing myself."

Maybelle heard shouting and decided to see what was going on. Shouting was mean. Plain and simple. Then when she saw that it was a couple of first years, she was going to diffuse this yelling. "Ladies Ladies, no need to fight, we're all beautiful." She said, smirking. "Now, quit fighting," Then she saw Hufflepuff crests on both the girls. "You two are Badgers for Wizard's sake! We are supposed to be friendly, so start being friendly!" She said, and put her hands on her hips.

Laura looked at Gwen and Smirked. "When you have a better come back than that, then come and find me." Laura laughed, she was really annoyed this girl has interupted her talk with the Head Girl. "Anyway little girl, isn't it past your bedtime?" Laura patted the girl on the head again.

Gwen had one hand on her wand, the other balled in to a fist. She looked at the older girl with wide, angry eyes.
"She keeps losing Hufflepuff house points!!" Gwen sputtered and pointed at Laura, her wand still in her hand and accidentally letting fiery sparks fly out of it, right in Laura's direction.
Uh-oh. Gwen gasped. She hadn't meant to do that!

Laura turned around to se who the girl was who had come and suddenly found herself on the floor with her legs hurting her. "Why did you jinx me." Laura started to cry, she tried to get up off the floor but her legs where hurting, she looked at her legs and they were all bruised she had no idea what the spell was but well it certainly stopped her from getting up.

Woah! That's why they were fighting? Maybelle rolled her eyes, because a couple of terms ago, she lost points for hugging without permission, and no one got mad at her, so why were these first years doing this? "Look, it's no big deal that one person lost points, are you going to run around yelling at every person who loses points? Because I can almost guarantee you that either an older Badger will hex you or a Professor will take more points, then what? Are you going to yell at yourself? It's pointless." She said, and saw the mean girl's wand send sparks, then the other little girl fall. "And put your wand away!" She exclaimed. Things could go badly, like someone could DIE!

"I-I-I-I d-d-d-" stuttered Gwen, staring at Laura in horror. What had she done?
Oh no. No no no no. This was not good!
She dropped her wand and covered her face in her hands, feeling the tears come.
All she'd wanted to do was try and get this girl to stop losing them house points and now she'd injured her?!
"No..." whispered Gwen through her hands, hoping it would just all go away.
What was she doing? She was usually a nice person, not somebody who hexed other people. Most definitely not someone who got in to trouble.

Laura couldn't believe how bad her legs where hurting her but well at least she hadn't been knocked out of anything so it could have been worse, well anyway what was she going to do now, she didn't want anyone to get into trouble but well she couldn't move and seriously she couldn't just hide the pain in her legs for ages. "Anyway I've just realised we've been fighting and we haven't be introduced. "I'm Laura and this is." Laura looked at the older girl. "Well I don't actually know."

Gwen looked down at Laura through her fingers.
"I'm Gwen," she said very quietly, almost ashamed.
She dried her eyes with her palms, she didn't want to look like a complete baby. So much to that, said a little voice in her head.
Sighing, she dropped her hands at her sides and sat down on the floor next to Laura.
Apologizing was the only right thing to do.
"I'm sorry..." Gwen muttered, barely audible. She took a deep breath. "For accidentally hexing you... and calling you stupid."

Maybelle looked at the girl who collapsed on the floor crying. Oh no, more crying? She couldn't handle crying. She knelt down and patted the girls back. "Stop crying, it was an accident, but do you see why you don't get pointlessly angry?" She asked, and held out her hand to help the girl up. Then, she looked at the girl named Laura. "Maybelle." She introduced. "Are you okay, Laura?" She asked. Then, she looked at the girl named Gwen. "Hey, Gwen, I'm glad you are apologizing." She clapped her hands together, "Now, can you two be good Hufflepuff's and be friends?" She asked.
