So when I wrote this chapter, I was listning to Dire Straits and I want to try a song fic bit in a chapter in the future, but then Romeo& Juliet came on and I like the lyrics so this is a trial run bit...So it doen't go too well, but anyway...



Post 46
Two long and easy weeks had passed. The way I saw it was that if I passed all my exams, great, superb, fantastic and if I didn’t, well what’s the worst that could happen? Because let’s be honest, I was more nervous about the Quidditch game than the results!

“You ready?” Harry asked grabbing his broom.
“Yeah!” I was so excited but at the same time nervous. Most of the school had turned up to watch the game. Harry hugged me into his side quickly.
“Good luck, love. Have fun right?” He said nodding
“Right.” I agreed. The whole team mounted there brooms and we soared into the air, warming up quickly. Then the game started.

“And Harry Potter has caught the snitch! Gryffindor Wins!” The voice boomed over the cheers of the crowd. I searched the skys for Harry.
“Looking for someone?” I turned to a beaming Harry. I reached for him. "Well done! You’ve won captain!” I hugged him.
“We all did!” He threaded his fingers in my hair and brought my face closer to his, kissing me softly. “Come on. Let’s go for a sleep. All you’ve done is practice.”
I raced Harry to the ground. He took my hand when he landed just after me as we attempted to get to the changing rooms.
“Eh, Miss. Weasley! Could I have a word please?” Proffessor McGonagall hurried over to me. “I do believe congratulations are in order. You played excellent. Both of you,” she said looking at Harry. A tall handsome man with a hard jaw and greying hair stood beside Proffessor McGonagall. He wore long navy robe that matched his piercing blue eyes. They were very striking.
“This is Mr. Thomas Reid of the Holyhead Harpies.” I held out my hand for him to shake. “He is the under 21’s coach and these past few months has been looking for the next big thing in Quidditch. He is running an exciting new programme this summer that I’m sure he’d like to tell you all about himself.”
“Is there somewhere we could more private we could chat?” He asked Proffessor McGonagall.
“Yes certainly. You could use me office for the interview. And Ginny here could go and get cleaned up too.” She looked me up and down as I realised the effect the harsh elements had on my appearance. I smiled in recognition. The words interview rung in my head. What interview?
“Shall we meet in 45 minutes in Proffessor McGonagall’s office?” Mr. Reid asked.
I nodded quickly. I jumped on Harry as the two walked away. “The Holyhead Harpies! Is this for real?” I kissed him in excitement as he lost balance and fell over coating us in mud. He picked up the earth and threw it at me as I huffed then kissed him again. I was quick to stand up though. “I need to get changed! This is an interview. I’m a mess. I’ll catch up with you at the party. Love you.” Then I ran off to the showers. I pointed my wand at my ginger locks, deciding going for a proper style would probably look good. I was straight with a slight curl at the bottom. I wore a long-sleeved, pale blue shirt with a puffed shoulder and black dress trousers. I wanted to make an impression after all. I jogged out of the changing rooms and fell into Harry’s arms. “Hey, good luck.”
“Awe thanks. I’ll meet you at the party.” I kissed his cheek delicately before skipping off.

I knocked on the office door three times before entering. Thomas Reid was sitting reading through papers and documents. He had his quill jotting down notes on a separate piece of paper. “Ah Miss Ginny Weasley,” He stood up as I walked over and shook his hand before sitting down.
“Basically I’m the coach of the under 21’s team for the Holyhead Harpies. We are offering a new scheme to get more girls like yourself, introduced to the world of competitive Quidditch. We run this programme for three weeks during the summer. It’s like an internship that some people will get at the ministry only I personally think this is more fun. You will get to meet girls from other schools too and depending on how you like it, we offer all the persons who take part, a conditional place in the Holyhead Harpies Team. Many of our players go on to play in the World cup for their countries. This really is a once in a lifetime opportunity. And after the way I watched you play today, I would think you’d have no problem. You really are a fantastic team player, and the Harpies would be honoured to have you.” I was stunned. I smiled at him delighted. This was defiantly my year!
“Where do I sign my name?” I smiled reaching for a quill.
“Well here are the papers. Go away and have a think about it, though I’m sure it won’t take too much deliberation. Give the papers back to Proffessor McGonagall. She will Owl them to me. It’s been great speaking with you.” He stood up once more and shook my hand again. I left bidding the man goodbye then skipped back to the Gryffindor common room singing.
“There she is! Player of the match!” I voice called towards me. Harry came over to me. “Congratulations.” He put his hands on my hips and pulled me to him. “You know I love you right?”
“No, I didn’t know that,” I smiled brushing his lips with mine. His mouth pressed against mine. It was urgent and begging for me. He opened my mouth into a hot fiery kiss. He ran his fingers up my back making my blood boil at his touch. There were cheers and woops around us making me very embarrassed. Harry pulled away. “You look tired,” he said tracing the lines under my eyes.
“That because I am. I feel like collapsing,” I joked. Harry pulled me through the crowed and upstairs to the boy’s dorm. Harry’s old, unslept-in bed look all too inviting. I launched myself onto it, snuggling myself under the covers. Harry climbed in beside me. I rested my head on his chest, closing my eyes instantly. “Sleep tight Gin. Love you.”

When I eventually woke up, the curtains were pulled around the bed. Harry blinked a few times before sitting up. He stretched and looked at his watch. “Gin, it’s after two in the morning.” I looked down at my body. The once crisp blue shirt was crinkled and looked rather messy. I groaned and let my head flop back onto the pillow. I rubbed my eyes, still tired.
“Hey, listen to that.” Harry whispered. I listened contently hearing the blare of heavy music and chatter. I looked out round the curtains of the bed. “The party is still on that’s why!” I pulled the curtains back to let Harry see.
“I suppose we could go down for a bit.” He said wiggling his eyebrows.
“I can’t go like this though, look,” I said standing up. “I’m all wrinkly.” Harry laughed as he looked me up and down. He reached over to the dresser beside his old bed, and summoned an old grey and red tee-shirt plus a pair of black sweats. “There you go. Get changed in the bed. Just pull round the curtains.” He helped me in.
“You know, a bed isn’t the most practical place to get changed.” I said wobbling on the mattress as I pulled on the sweat pants. I used a charm to make them fit better and I cropped the legs so they looked marginally better. The tee-shirt I keep big. It was comfy but fell off one shoulder. I dramatically pulled back the curtains. “How do I look?” I asked pouting followed by a laugh. He grabbed me around the waist and spun me to the ground.
“Mmm…” I kissed him quickly, fixed my hair into a messy bun, and then took his hand as I dragged him downstairs to the party.
Clearly, someone had smuggled in firewhisky. I tutted to myself. Really what was the point?
Hermione was dancing in the middle of the room swinging herself back and forward, and singing, or more like shouting to the song on the charmed record player. Ron was laughing at her and some other drunken children that were dancing while eating a roll and something. The whole room was jumping.
A slow song came onto the radio. “Dance with me.” Harry whispered. I let him take my hand and guide me to the middle of the common room, where everyone seemed to be dancing and all the sofas and tables had been pushed into the walls. I rested my head on his shoulder.

A love-struck Romeo sings the streets a serenade

Finds a street light steps out into the shade
Says something like you and me babe, how about it?

“When you’re an international Quidditch player, I hope you remember me. Cause I’m the one that spent countless hours with you practicing!” Harry whispered.

Juliet says hey it's Romeo; you nearly gave me a heart attack
He's underneath the window; she's singing hey la my boyfriend’s back
You shouldn't come around here singing up to people like that
Anyway, what you gonna do about it?

“Why would I forget you? I’ll still come and see you, what, once or twice a year. I’ll live in your guest bedroom when I’m home and you can cook me all your great meals. And if it isn’t too much trouble, I’d like them on a silver platter.” I smiled as he twirled me around.

Juliet the dice was loaded from the start
And I bet, and you exploded in my heart.
And I forget, I forget, the movie song
When you gonna realize it was just that the time was wrong, Juliet.

“Oh, no trouble at all. The pleasure would be all mines to have you stay over." He joked. “What about during summer? Will you come and stay over then?” He asked this time serious.
“Maybe… Depends what your cooking.” I laughed and elbowed him in the ribs.

Both dirty both mean, yes and even and dream was just the same
And I dreamed your dream for you and now your dream is real.
How can you look at me as if I was just another part of your deal?

“No seriously.” He said.
“Yeah every few nights. But you’re going to come back to the Burrow first for a few days. Cause you’ll be painting and stuff, won’t you?”

“Ginny, I can’t wait for the holiday! We are going to have such a good time.” He grinned from ear to ear.
“I thought I was more excited than you, but it seems I am mistaken.” He laughed casually and then whispered, “You have no idea.”

“This trip, it feels so…weird!” I told Harry. And it was true. I couldn’t really get over it.
“Weird? Oh right.”
“No, it’s just so different to anything I’ve done before.”
“Eh, same here!”

And all I do is miss you and the way we used to be
All I do is keep the beat and bad company.
All I do is kiss you through the bars of a rhyme
Juliet I'd do the stars with you anytime.

“You don’t seem too happy. Don’t you want to go?”
“It’s just I feel like it’s the end of something. I’m not sure what though. And I feel like it will be a new beginning for us.” I looked up at him, hoping he’d have a solution.
“Yeah, I know.” He held me close wrapping his arms tightly around me, and then he planted a kiss on my forehead.

As the song faded out, I let go of Harry. Ron was trying to persuade Hermione to go to bed, as she would need time to recover from her wild night. Harry took my hand to get my attention. “I’m really tired Ginny, I’m going to head back to the dorm. But just you stay.”
“No I need to turn in anyway. I’ll be exhausted otherwise, and I want to start my packing for going home tomorrow.” Harry didn’t say much on the way back to the dorm. His face was tired and drawn. I don’t think he’ll ever get used to parties, especially ones that run into the early hours of the morning. He kissed me once at my door, only bidding me a goodnight. I was pretty sure he’d have a long lie the next morning.




I know I didn't write much for the quidditch game, but I wouldn't know where to start lol But it was the bit after that was important...
And there's no promises as to when I'll post again, cause I don't even have an aproximate date/time.

Hello Sophie. I really enjoyed your writing here Sophie. As I was reading what Thomas Reid was proposing to Ginny, I couldn't help but feel like things were changing, but really they were still the same? Hard to explain, but then you wrote this; It was very good writing to lead me into that the way you did. It was all natural and casual. Also I loved this part; It might be my favorite part of the chapter. But it's hard to say cause it's all very good.
Great post Sophie. I'll be watching for your next, when you can get to it.

I had wakened earlier than expected the morning after the party. I lay in bed until I just had to get up. I looked around at the pigsty of a room. Well, I am a teenager. I started picking up random socks and other items of clothing off the red carpet. I pulled out my trunk and sat it in front of the window and I packed away the little unnecessary things I never really need for school. I knew the next week would be easy and carefree, but most of all, a time where we could all enjoy ourselves. In the distance the hills seemed to have gone from a snow covered blanket of white, to a bright, vibrant, plush green where the shadows of the clouds were seen to drift along the top. The Black Lake was a more friendly blue colour as it reflected the sky. I smiled at my surroundings. How I missed home!
I slipped on a red tee-shirt and denim shorts then proceeded to the living room.
I gasped at the sight before me. “Hermione, you look like death.”
She grunted. “I feel like it too.”
“Did you have fun last night?” I asked her in all seriousness.
“Um, I think so.”
“Well, that’s the main thing!” I told her. She replied with a grunt and I laughed. “Where is Ron?”
“Breakfast.” She replied sipping from her mug.
“And Harry?”
“I don’t know, bed I think.” I huffed loudly at her attitude and opened Harry’s door quietly.
He wasn’t there. His bed was empty and un slept in. I looked in his bathroom, again empty.
“Hermione, where is Harry?” I shouted, worried.
“Shh…don’t shout,” she moaned quietly. “I don’t know.”
I went everywhere, The Hall, the Gryffindor Common room, old dorm. No-one had seen him.
I ran out of the hall for the second time and bumped straight into Neville.
“Are you ok Ginny?” He asked worried.
“I don’t know. I can’t find Harry. I don’t think he came back to the dorm last night. You haven’t seen him have you?”
“Come to think of it, last night long after you’d both left I seen him out. He was walking in the direction of Dumbledore’s office. Hmm… I don’t know why though.”
I breathed a sigh of relief knowing he’d be safe if he was with the headmaster. “Thanks Neville. I’ll catch you later, Kay?”
“Sure thing, see you Ginny.”
I wasn’t too sure what to do next. I didn’t want to disturb them if they were busy. It couldn’t have been too important either otherwise Harry would have said something.
I wondered aimlessly around the castle and noticed Professor McGonagll leaving a classroom. “Proffessor?” I called after her. She turned around and smiled. “Yes Miss Weasley?”
“Sorry to bother you, but have you seen Harry anywhere?”
Her smile faded and her eyebrows came together as she thought. “He’s away with Proffessor Dumbledore. I understand why he wouldn’t say anything. He should be back no later than tomorrow night.” And she walked away.
It bothered me the way she didn’t say anything else. Why did she understand why Harry didn’t tell me where they were going?

I spoke to Ron and Hermione who were equally as shocked as me. It wasn’t like Harry to just take off like he did. But Ron and Hermione didn’t have the look of wonder that I had. They looked worried and scared every time I said Harry’s name. They were keeping something from me. I just knew it!
But without Harry as a distraction, and Ron and Hermione keeping themselves busy with last minuet head boy and girl things, I had plenty of time to sort myself for going home. By the time I had finished, my room was spotless and my trunk was half full. I had left myself out a weeks’ worth of clothes, so I was pretty organised.
I lay on my bed and twirled my hair around my fingers, playing with the split ends. I let my mind think to what awaited me when I went home: Rome, A full summer with Harry, two weeks at the Holyhead Harpies summer training school…Pure, utter brilliance. I couldn’t wait. I grinned to myself hoping the last week of school would be as quick as possible. Plus I missed my mum and dad. I had much to tell them.





Ok guys, this was quite short but my last post was exceptionally long. I have no idea when I will post again cause exams start on the 5th of May and go right through till the start of June and I really haven't been studying enough so if you don't see me around as often or I miss posts on your FF, it doesn't mean I've stopped reading your story, it just means I'll be doing chemistry instead.
I know nothing really happend in this post, but the next one is where things get good and a bit better...

Hello Sophie. I was so happy to see you wrote more. I loved the chapter, and of course the reason why is that your writing is so expressive. I can feel Ginny's excitement of going home and on to Rome. I can feel her worry building as she looks for Harry. I could feel her heart drop when she saw his bed made and not slept in, I can feel her anxiety when she finds out he is with Dumbledore for whatever reason, and I can also feel her relief to know he is safe sense he is with Dumbledore. But, also at this point she is worried because it isn't like him to not say anything to her about having to go. The thing that worries me the most is; Now, Sophie, please.... study hard and do well on your exams, then get right back to this and let us know what is going on! I'll be waiting for your next chapter.

Hello to my dear and patient readers!
Guess who... believe it or not, I'm back and thankfully exams are OVER! And a week today I go to ROMA!

So I cannot believe ho long it has been, and I cannot apologies enough as to how long I have deserted you all .

So depending on how you see this, the good news is, this is a very long post, bad news is I hav not wrote another thing for after this, but I'll have time when I am on holiday!

So without further ado...




Post 48

Neville came to the dorm and asked for me to go with him to Proffessor Dumbledore’s office. Harry and Dumbledore had returned home, though only Harry alive and well.
Harry’s whole body was shaking as a tear ran from his eye. I had only ever seen him cry once in my life before. I put my hand on his shoulder as Proffessor McGonagll tried to convince him that things like death happen for a reason. But he knew all too well about death. Hermione too was in tears while Ron and I looked on helpless. I was never close to Dumbledore. Sure, I could go to him and talk if I needed help or whatever, but never as close as Harry was.
His funeral took place on Tuesday morning before we left to go home on the Friday. The sun was shining brightly and the sky was the most perfect shade of blue. It was a lovely service. A first year student from each house was asked to do something special for the funeral. Rows of wooden benches lined the grass beside a stream that runs through the school grounds. The end of each pew was decorated with a single white lily. Proffessor Snape said a few words about the head teacher much to the disgust of a few Gryffindor’s though Harry said nothing. He hadn’t said much since they had returned from that trip. I still didn’t know where they had ventured to but I realised that it was not the time or place, so I let it go.
I woke to the sound of Harry’s voice. He was talking to Ron and I could tell he was angry and tense. “Ron, it’s Snape. He bloody killed him! Now what do I do. Dumbledore needed us. And we needed him.” He huffed loudly. “I knew it was always him to watch out for. But Dumbledore didn’t.”
Hermione’s voice was sympathetic. “Harry, we need to trust Dumbledore’s judgment. He obviously trusted Snape. Maybe there is more to it.”
I had nodded off against Ron’s shoulder and I felt him shake his head. “Trust Dumbledore? He betrayed Harry. The sooner you realise that the better. No, I’m with Harry. That slimy git is defiantly for the dark side. I mean, what’s next. Things just seem to go from bad to worse and I worry that it ain’t going to get better any time soon.”
“-We need to finish what Dumbledore started and go-” Harry began.
“-And you worry about her. You need to put her first Harry. And if you don’t...”
“-Yeah I know,” Harry butted back in. There was an awkward silence.
“We’ll I’m glad you know you’ll have me to answer to. She’s the baby of the family Harry. She’s still immature.”
“She’s more mature than you think.” Harry muttered.
“It’s an act. Don’t be fooled by that. She acts like that for you.” I wanted to open my eyes and defend myself but I squeezed them shut.
“Why don’t you ask her when she’s awake? I’m sure she’d want to defend herself, Ron. This is going to be a hard year for all of us. Let’s just leave this before we say anything we’ll regret.”
The rest of the journey home was silent. Harry had said little and Ron and Hermione attempted to keep the mood light and cheery probably for my benefit, though they were failing miserable.
When we got to the station I craned my neck to try and see my mum and dad. They weren’t there and I started to worry for no reason until I heard my name being called over the swarm of people.
“Ron, Ginny.” He shouted heads and shoulders above everyone else.
“Charlie!” I ran over to him and hugged the brother I missed most.
“You remember Katie.” He said with a grin. I said hello and hugged her as the others came over. She was petite and had long think brown hair that hung casually to her waist. She had big brown eyes and was quite pale. She smiled and laughed the whole was home in Charlie’s little old battered car as we told her stories about our year at Hogwarts.
We had had to say goodbye to Hermione at the station, but Katie invited her to the “wedding,” if you can call it that.
“You know, I actually need to go and pick up my dress.” She told us. “Charlie, could you be a babe and drop me at the leaky cauldron. Ginny, you should come with me.” I loved how relaxed and carefree she was.
“Yeah, that would be good.” I replied and Charlie smiled at me through the rear mirror.

Harry got out of the car with me at the leaky cauldron. “You’ll come over tonight won’t you?” I looked at him confused. “I’m going to Grimrauld Place.” He explained. I nodded quickly as he climbed back in the car. The boys waved as they drove away.
“So, Ginny. Bet you’re glad it’s the holidays now.” Katie said attempting to make conversation.
“Yeah, can relax for a while now!” I laughed at the thought. For a while I couldn’t see past my exams.
“Well Charlie and I are straight back to Romania after the wedding. But it’s great because we really love it there. It’s a holiday every day for us.”
“I hope I can find a job I love when I leave school.” I told her continuing
“Well stick in and you can do whatever you want Ginny!” I rolled my eyes. This seems to be all adults enjoy telling me. I swear, do they just hate their lives that much? If it’s not Mum and Dad, its professors at school and now Katie… I always considered her a bit cool and someone who didn’t worry, but people better stop talking about the future. I’d like to live in the moment thank you very much!
“So Ginny, about this ceremony,” Katie said, finally changing the subject, “Charlie and I would love for you to do a reading. Just a short one that we have picked nothing too long and boring. How does that sound?”
I smiled. She was going to be such a great sister in law. “Of course I will.” I told her as we stepped into a small boutique.
An older lady appeared from behind a counter where lots of bright fabrics in all different styles and textures were jumbled up, but obviously an organised fashion to her. A Miss O’ Connor! Everything is ready for you. I’ll just go and get it. She appeared moments later with a longs bag that opened when she waved her wand and revealed the most perfect dress . It was made just for Katie. Everything about it reflected her awesomeness!
Next we went to a small flower shop where Katie picked up her bouquite of flowers- Five sunflowers held together with a piece of white silky ribbon.
She took me out for pizza then we went home where I greeted my parents with a big hug. Home at last...

Hey Sophie. Great that you are done with exams. And I know you're excited about going away. How wonderful for you that you get to have a dream come true. I hope everything goes as you plan for it.

It's sad to see Ron and Harry at odds with each other. They are going through so much, and they know there will be more hardships. I do think it sweet of Ron to think of Ginny. He knows the possibility of something happening to Harry, and doesn't want her hurt. But, I think she isn't as inmature as he thinks she is. Yes, she is young, but, I think she is more mature than a lot of people give her credit for.
