Herod returned from the large, meesy room of ancient files and filing cabinets with exactly four files. He sat them down in front of his two workers. "Ok...." he sighed. "I've been looking non-stop for three days and this is all I could find." He opened the first file.

"This one is about a cloack that that makes the wear-er look like and animal. it covers the body so that it looks like an animal body with a human head. Now the important part is that it acheives this by using a very similar spell that the mask uses to bind the it to the face. It gave me some good incite into how to remove it. There is a counter curse, but we don't know if it will work with such a powerful sursed object or if it has to be perfomed by the wear-er." He closed the first file and chucked it on his desk a few feet away.

"The second file is about a mask. It isn't really that similar, but its one of the only other magical masks that we have records of. This mask lets the wearer change appearce slightly by altering the nose, mouth and eye areas. I don't know what exactly can be learned from it, but i thought it help."

With a flick he tossed the second file on top of the first. "Now this file..." he said, picking up and starting to read the third, "...is the only patent for a dakr object that deals with an Unforgivable Curse that we have ever recieved before. Its a...." he said, squinting to see the writing " a Crucio Whip. Owww......sounds painful. We can study it to find how he infused the dark magic. There are some really ancient spells in here." With that he tossed the third file and picked up his final discovery.

"This one is really good. It has nothing to do with the mask, but it can help us find it!!! Its a pocket watch that can locate magic. It can't distinquish between magic, but it will find the closest magic around. So if we can get near enough......" He threw his final file on the pile on his desk. "What do you think?" he asked.

"If you guys don't mind, I'll investigate the files some more, especially the spells to infuse the magic and un-stick the mask. Could you try and find one of those magic pocketwatches?" he said, turing to Suzzana.

Tom looked around the room to see who he could see from the Gobstone Division. "Hey guys, we really need to get this done as soon as we can." He smiled. "Any other idea's of what we should do to keep the Teams happy?"

Rex had to escape his office for a brief moment because Colin MacKenzie was getting on his nerves. "Any updates for me?" he called out and hoped that Tom or Alina could give him something to think about besides a scandal.

"Uhm We could have them get somethign when the ywin,or have better places too stay when they travel?"she said to Tom.She saw rex."WQe have soem rules."

His ears perked up at the mention of new rules. "Please remind me what the new rules are for," Rex asked because his mind was still buzzing over the scandal.

Tom saw Rex come back out of his office. "We have some rules sorted and some league's for you to choose which one you like best." He smiled and then looked at Annabeth. "That's a great idea." He smiled at her. "Rex where are they going to stay whilest they are playing away from home." He said. "I know they were complaining about it, they want to stay in the best hotel the city has but I don't think we can allow that." He stopped and said. "What do you think Rex?"

"They, and I mean the Gobstones Club, forgets that the Ministry has contracts with specific hotel chains and they're required - by contract - to stay wherever we tell them to," explained Rex. "Can't beat the discount we get for our teams - saves each team money - and money is what the team owners complain about. Does that answer the accomodation issue?"

Alina had looked up from her desk and current report as Herod entered the work area with a pile of files. Laying her quill down, she stood and headed in his direction. She wanted to listen in on what he'd found, and so not to pressue him, perched on a nearby desk as he explained his findings.

"Mind if I take a look?" Alina said, looking at the files on the table and reaching to pick to topmost one up. "Quite a range you've found...and certainly all of use. I think we need to keep looking for the area in which the source is located, and use these to help identify a bit more clearly what we are working with."

She looked at Herod with a smile. "Good work. Perhaps you wouldn't mind writing up the key points from each of these Patents on to the flip chart over there? So we can keep a clear idea of what we might be working with. It'll be easier to feedback to each other like that too, and build up a board of knowledge."

She turned to her other employees. "Suzanne and Loris, what have you been researching? And did you find anything interesting?"

And talking of what had been found out...

"A few, mainly historical," Alina said with a smile. She'd seen Colin MacKenzie go into Rex's office, and wondered what it was about this time. Something told her it wasn't just a photo opportunity...

Letting Tom fill Rex in first, Alina waited for her employees to fill her in on what'd they'd been upto. She could talk to the Department Head later when Tom was done.

"yeah but we can't have them going too a palce that is fallign apart,something not to expensive,that they can get deals on,but is nice."annabeth said thinking.

"OK, I'll do just that" he said, walking over to the flip chart.

He wrote:

When he was finished he went back to the patents to do what was needed for each one, starting with the cloak. He was hoping someone would see that there was a need and help him, so he had the pile ready on his desk.

"Yes that answers the issues." Tom smiled as he looked at Rex, he then looked at all his employees. "Right everyone, I think the main thing we need to forcus on is what we can do to stop them going on strike, the league is starting soon and if they do go on strike it'll be hard to explain why they have, I think we need to sort out a structure that will work for everyone, We need to find out how we are going to referee the matches, does anyone have any ideas, I say with have two officals but is that going to be enough, what do you all think?"

"Seems like enough."she said shrugging,she looked around ans clucked her tongue. She sighed,"What else is there?Who do they want sponsoring each team?"she asked.

"When your team as a few concrete plans ready for discussion, please let me know," Rex sighed and glanced around at the rest of the departmet. "The sooner the better because time's running out."

Tom looked at the woman and smiled. "Well we don't need to sort out sponsors that is for the teams to decided who they want to sponsor them, what we really need to do is think of things to do with the structure of the league, so we have the tables ready but how do we decided who plays home and away first, we need to make it fair, if one team plays at home one week then next they should play away" He said simply. "How should we decided who plays who and when?" Tom looked at everyone in his division.

Tom then heard Rex say something to him. "Okay, I will do and we'll do it as quickly as possible, I know how frustrating this must be for you." He smiled even though he was getting really worried about letting Rex down.

"Just come up with some solutions soon, Tom and we'll have your group present them to me in the Conference Room," restated Rex and he saw that the Patents employees were discussing something in hushed whispers. "Excuse me. I need to see what they're up to."

He crossed the work area and positioned himself behind the Patents employees. "So, what's the secret? Care to fill me in?" he inquired and folded his arms.

"Sure....?" Herod said, wondering what triggered the department heads new sass. However, he went on as if nothing was wrong. "We are discussing my finds from the large file room. Only four files looked relevant and my division head said I should summarize them on this board...." he said, gesturing.

After allowing ample time for the deparment head to read Herod continued, "We are now discussing what each of us will do next. So far we have agreed that I will look more into these files and find some possible souutions for when we find the thing (like getting rid of the dark magic and destryong it). These two were going to find me that magical pocket watch so we can find the Mask. Any questions?" he concluded politley.

Striding into the work areas where she was supposed to set up her cubicle, Dessie eyed the room with apparent awe, forgetting her nervousness for a second. It was so new and shiny - amazing work! Smiling, she began to make her way to an empty cubicle she saw, hoping that it was indeed in her Division's allotted area... It looked like it. There were Quidditch stuff all over the place.

As she set her bag down on the table, she immediately felt a little less nervous. The space had a home-y vibe to it, and she could see herself spending quite a lot of time in here. Opening her bag, she took out a flower box and put it on her desk. Decorating: done. The yellow flowers brightened up the spot a LOT while at the same time they didn't remind her of ANYTHING from back home.

Which was only a good thing.

... What now? Who was from her division? Could she talk to others? Eeek. THIS was the part she had been dreading most - like being the new kid in school, only worse. When you're a kid, you can pretend to be someone cool and get away with it - with people this age, it's very transparent if you're not acting like yourself.

At least, it was with her.

Herod amended the board....

When he finished, he replaced the board on the wall and continued to work. After a alf an hour, he stopped momentarily to send memos to the other people involved. Then he continued to pur over books.....

"Pocketwatch? All right, I'll get started on that," Suzanna said, after listening to Herod describe the patents he had uncovered. They all looked pretty relevant to her, and a little sketchy too. "I guess we could look for a pocketwatch in some antique jewlery shops, or who knows, they could appear in costume shops too," she suggested. She scribbled down on a small note on the map to look for costume shops, and old jewlery shops around London.

"I've found a whole bunch of shops that sell this kind of stuff that recently opened," Suzanna said in reply to her division head's question. She looked closely at a file. "It seems they have a bunch of new items never heard of before. Do you think any of these could be one of those patents you found?" she asked Herod.

She glanced onto the board, and looked over what they had to do, and decided to take the pocketwatch job. "Hey, can I look at some of your files on the watch?" she asked Herod.

Alian quickly scanned through the list that Herod had written, and listened to the conversation going on. "I'm not actually too sure that we want to focus overly much on finding this pocket watch in the short term," she sadi after a moment's thought. "Sure, it finds magical objects, but so do many spells. And if the mask inventor is based near anywhere magical the watch will go haywire anyway. It's only any use it distinctly Muggle areas, and then using a watch like that would be too obvious. I think we should still focus on the source of these masks."

Turning to Suzanna, Alina smiled. "Good work, it is very possible if it's a new branding come in recently." She turned to a some drawers, and had a rummage, before pulling out a map of London. Using her wand to take a copy, she laid it down on the table and put the origial back away. "Where are these shops based?" she asked, ready to mark them on the map. Having a better idea of where the possible sellers were based might help.

"Sure, here" he said, passing them to her. He then turned to appease his division head's concerns.


"That is a good point.....but we are expecting to find a mask or the mask and the perpatratoir at a Muggle masquerade, there will many muggle masks and only one dark mask to find, so it will help us find the mask discreatly. If we were to start ripping people's masks off to see if they stuck and was therefore the dark mask, it would give us away. So...." he said, moving on, "we need the watch....but I see Suzanna has already claimed it! Thank you" he said cordially. "I will contine with the files and perhaps work out these spells....."

This was a rather unique morning. It was actually his first day of work within the ministry. Ryan could feel some excitement as he walked inside his new work place. Deciding of leaving a professional quidditch career behind had been one of the most difficult decision he had to do but he knew it was for the best.

Looking quietly around in order to spot an empty cubicle, Ryan finally spotted one. The desk had absolutely nothing on it so he was sure nobody would be bustering in here claiming that he was behind their desk. Having brought only the minimum, Ryan took a mental note of bringing at least some quidditch magazines to make it appear more occupied.

Putting his suitcase down, now he wasn't sure what he should have been doing. Cafeteria now or later? What a dilemma.

Being Completely new to the Ministry of Magic, Kathy finally found Level 7 where there was the deparment of Magical Games and Sport. Being alocated this position in this department was an honour since Kathy loved to be part of a big gang that did fun things like organizing magical games and sporting events. She found the door of Level 7, pushed it open and spoke to the first person she saw "hello, i'm new to this department. I want to say if there is anything i can do to help build this department let me now". After that she walked to find the deparment head to find out what was going to be her first job to do.

Dessie was still nervously trying to catch someone's eye unsuccessfully when she saw another person walk in - well TWO people - and put his suitcase on a table near hers. Which meant that he was in her division. Also, his table was empty which meant that he was new, like her.

Plucking up the courage from somewhere unknown, Dessie walked over and gave the younger man a smile. "Destiny," she said, and held out her hand. "Nervous new Quidditch Division employee. Call me Dessie."

Well, she was COMPLETELY new here. She might as well try and be funny.

Having decided of waiting a bit to go get a delicious warm coffee, Ryan WAS trying to make himself comfortable which was strangely difficult. In his usual nothing was hard for him but this was a whole different thing. He was now a ministry worker which in his book was something huge.

Hearing someone walking toward him, Ryan turned to face whoever it was. Just by the sound of her step it was easy to identified that it was a woman. No man who would respect themselve would ever walk like that. "Pleasure to meet you Dessie. I'm Ryan. An equally nervous new employee in the Quidditch division." With that said he extended his hand to shake hers. "My friend call me RJ"

Sense of humor was always a win for him and he had to admit that she not only had it but she was rather gorgeous too.
