Finally! Something new! I actually started knitting this one... months ago, but only just got round to finishing it today. Aaah the life of a procrastinating uni student
Anyway, I know the traditional Hufflepuff scarf that's seen in the films has a big yellow stripe with smaller black stripes... but I never really liked that pattern as it looked really... well... tacky. So, instead of black (which really makes it look cheap, IMHO) I chose this gorgeous dark grey yarn to go with the super sweet, buttery yellow yarn and switched the colour patterns around.
With the simple 2 knit, 2 purl pattern using Merino superfine wool yarn I came up with this:
I am so in love with it! PUFF PRIDE! |

Nabadoodle! I love that scarf... and the color combination is great. It makes me want to dust off my crochet hook... but I won't. I'll leave the talent to you.

This is absolutely gorgeous! I agree, the color combination is fantastic. I really don't care for the way it's portrayed in the films, they should go by your example.

Ern: Oooh you know, I always go gaga over the crocheted scarves and hats in shops... I wish I could crochet, they're so much more gorgeous than simple knit ones *sighs* Teaaach meeeee *wibbles*
Kelvin: Hehehe I always shop things *shifty* Nabs the Mercenary... what? haha
Ms Morgan: Thank you! OMG they totally should! Shall we pitch the idea to WB? hehehe There's still time before the next film!
kerryleanne: Oh darling... it took me 4 months to finish this thing... lol trust me I gave up a few times before I finally finished it.
Mrs D: PUFF PRIDE FOREVER!!! *lovelove*
Thanks you guys, I'm so happy with this one cos I love the colours and the way it feels when I wear it. But I wish I could knit/crochet other things... got too many scarves now, so I'm just giving them away to my housemates and friends xD

GORGEOUS!! And the scarf isn't half bad looking either! *snort*
What a beautiful scarf, Larry! I agree as well.. this colour combo looks WAY better than the traditional black and yellow! Well done!
I told you, crochet is easy peasy. I'll have to compile a list of how-to resources I've found online. Cause there are just SO MANY that show how to crochet.

You should totally find a place packed with crazy Harry Potter fanatics willing to buy anything Harry Potter related. Not that I'd know where to find such people or anything.
Your scarf rocks Hufflepuffs' socks! It's so pretty! Great job!
You've inspired me, so I think next on my list is to make something Hufflepuff! I have to think of something! <3

Pffft, like a plus size, BEFORE model!!! okay, lol not the point here.
I don't know how to sell stuff... haha maybe I will now that I'm in the UK, postage will be cheaper to most of you guys here anyway.
I've decided to make something Ravenclaw next. No idea what yet... maybe a sling bag for my books when I'm lurking in the library |

I posted a pic of me wearing a pair of Snitch earrings I made in the Personal Pics thread, so I thought I'd post a bigger, more zoomed in pic of the actual earrings here too.
I made them using those cool bead toys you can get at Ikea (they're called Pyssla). Just arranged them on the board and ironed to melt the beads together. They were so easy to make that I actually made a handful of Snitches (I do love those things).
Poked a hole in the top using a round nosed plier, then attached the earring hooks on them. Woo! The whole process took about 20 minutes to complete.
