 The Worple and Warmsley Magical Travelling Carnival have brought with it, all the way from China, their Zouwu Coaster!
Are you brave enough to climb aboard one of our colourful, gigantic elephant-sized cats, with their striped bodies and scraggly manes? Don’t be scared by their four fangs curling out of their mouth, or their long and sharp claws. These Zouwu have been trained with love and are as friendly as a loyal boarhound. Their overly long, and multicoloured tails will bring joy to your eyes as you climb up it, onto their backs. Sure, there’s no harnesses to secure you, but you’ll feel like someone has just cast a sticking charm on you.
A designated ticket booth has been set up, with a Carnival worker yelling "Ride the Zouwu Coaster! Only 3 Galleons!" There are two lines, with signs 'Adrenaline Junkie' and 'Leisurely Stroll' instructing you where to line. Should you wish to go for an Adrenaline Junkie Ride, we have two young Zouwu, full of energy! Make sure you hold on as the Zouwu takes you on a thrilling ride around Diagon Alley, darting around shops and obstacles, and leaping over buildings at over 80 miles an hour. However, if you wish to go for the Leisurely Stroll, particularly popular if you have small children or aren’t interested in the thrilling ride, we’ve brought our elderly Zouwu who will take you on a much slower tour around Diagon Alley.
Adrenaline Junkies will take ten minutes of fast paces action, but our Leisurely Stroll may take up to thirty depending on how many sniffing spots our Zouwu needs to inspect.

If someone were to ask Eivan - and likely no one would - he really did not care for this carnival nonsense. He visited Diagon Alley often in the summer since he lived close by, and it was already too crowded with annoying people in the summer. This was sure to make it immeasurably worse. The noise was already unbearable.
But what else did he have to do during summer? Sure, he had family matters to attend to and did plenty of snooping around in hidden rooms he wasn't so sure he was yet meant to have access to, as well as practice some potions that surely weren't on the Hogwarts curriculum. But he needed to get out of the house sometime and he found himself wandering through this carnival.
The nearly fifteen year old did slow down as he neared the loud carnival worker however. A zouwu coaster? He wasn't exactly sure what that was, but by the looks of it, it actually seemed cool. Not that he'd admit that to anyone else.

Farah had spent most of her summer in doors or grounded. Of course, she'd managed to sneak out... and get caught... on several occasions as well, that just made her jail grounded time longer. At this rate, she would be doomed to her room when she returned for Christmas break. But nonetheless, she had managed to sneak out again, surprised her mom hadn't barred the windows. She needed to breathe. She needed away from the house.
So she was at the carnival.
A place that she didnt really want to be at, but what else was she going to do in the middle of the day? She sent a text through her muggle phone to her bestie, Steph, to see if she would accompany there. While she was waiting on her, her eyes caught sight of a familar shade of hair color. She moved closer a bit to see if it was who she thought it was. She didnt want to be too obvious or eager to see if it was that person who she thought it was so she walked casually by. Nope. Wasnt him, but it was his brother. Evian. She gave him a little, tiny smile before looking away, a little disappointed honestly. Her eyes moved to where she was standing near. A coaster? 3 galleons? Rummaging through her pocket, she tried to see if she had that. With luck, she did.
Now to wait on Steph to see if she wanted to ride with her.

Your hair is vibrant.” She added. Because it was true...... and because she was trying to feel like her old self who always complimented people.

After zooming around the other festivities, her mother, father and brother decided to take a break at the rest area but the eleven year old had too much energy left to join them. She had been to a lot carnivals before but this was the first legit magical one that she had been to and so she wanted to try EVERYTHING.
Some deliberating between the grown-ups afterwards and Harri was bouncing towards the line up for the adrenaline junkie, her 3 galleons making clinging sounds in her pockets.

Not really a surprise because the Gryffindor definitely craved adrenaline like most teenagers, but in particular she got it from ones where she didn't have to put forth the physical work.
Passing by Steph and Farah, she offered a small smile as she glanced up the sign on the coaster. Three galleons?? Seemed kind of steep to her for a few minutes and yet, the blond found herself digging in her pocket. As she did so, she caught sight of a boy about her age - was her year? She might have seen him actually come to think of it. "You just spectating or ya gonna ride?" Cause his spectatation seemed kind of creepy to be honest.

Like... that she was grounded... and she wasn't allowed out... because she'd snuck out earlier that week. Oh well? Farah nodded about the crowded but didnt think about it from a mom's point of view of looking out for their kids, because why would she? " I'm sure they are keeping lots of eyes out." She'd never been lost and if you'd been to New Delhi, you could tell how easily it was to do that in the hustle and bustle.
Her friend was smart though. Not that Farah was hiding that she had been in trouble. She shrugged, keeping their arms looped together. " I may be in trouble... grounded even." She mustered while heading to get in line for the coaster. " It's no big deal." Farah added, even though the old Farah wouldnt have wanted to get on the wrong side of her parents for anything. That was then though, and this was now. " It's three galleons." She said pulling out the galleons from her pocket.
Again, she glanced at her hair. " Sure it wasn't the Italy air?" She asked with a little grin. Yeah, she'd missed her bestie when she was gone. Even though she'd managed to push most of her friends and even her boyfriend ... exboyfriend away, Steph had stayed, annoyingly, by her side. True friend.

"There's two different coasters?" Well okay then. Koen stopped several feet back from the lines to read each side. "Adrenaline Junkie or Leisurely Stroll?" Uhhhh... might be best if he asked the gorgeous blonde at his side. "Which would you prefer, Stas? A more relaxed ride or a fast paced thrill seeking ride?" Light blue eyes shifted towards his girlfriend, his thumb lightly brushing across her knuckles as he held her hand lightly, something he was very much taking every opportunity to do now that he could do so freely.
Whichever she choose was fine by him. All that mattered was her having a good time.

Her first thought when the announcement about the carnival coming to Diagon Alley was that it might be fun to bring Demyan along to see it. Stasya still felt like he might enjoy at least some parts of it, the shows and such, and she was also almost certain that Koen wouldn’t have minded if her little brother tagged along.
However, she was glad she’d decided to maybe take Demyan to visit when she’d set her eyes on the Zouwu coaster and immdeiatley decided that she had to investigate that. Not in a ‘I need to make sure that the Zouwus weren’t being abused’ way. In a ‘I really want to see a Zouwu or two and maybe get to ride one’ way, and the tall blonde had been grateful that her boyfriend hadn’t had any arguments against coming over here.
“I think I want to take whichever lets the Zouwu enjoy themselves,” she replied simply, nearly without any pause at all to think. “Is it really nice to make an elderly Zouwu carry us around?” She didn’t want it to accidentally get hurt or anything. Plus, letting the other Zouwu get to zoom around sounded fun.

Stasya would have been correct in assuming that he wouldn't have mind her little brother coming along. Truth was he had considered bringing his own siblings along as well. The problem was he had three of them and he wasn't exactly sure he was ready to take on the responsibility of watching three little kids at a carnival. Not that he didn't watch them all the time and take them places but a carnival was different... a small child could get lost in the blink of an eye.
Koen glanced at his girlfriend and smiled. Leave it to her to ask about the fairness of an older Zouwu carrying people around. "Maybe it enjoys it though? Plus it gets some exercise?" He honestly didn't know how the Zouwu felt. "I'm all for a ride on the much younger one though if you are." From what he could see that way seemed way more active for it's own good and it would surely be a ride to remember.
With a gentle tug on her hand, Koen steered them over to the correct line so they could wait for their turn.

As he was watching the current ride and contemplating getting on the next one, Eivan caught sight of a figure looking his way out of the corner of his eye. He casually turned his head a bit to see who it was. Oh... Farah. He narrowed his eyes a bit as they settled on her, even as she looked away when one of her friends showed up. His brother had told him about her foolish ideas.
But the thought had barely entered his mind before someone was speaking to him and Eivan once again shifted his eyes. Who was this? The Slytherin vaguely recognized the girl and figured she went to Hogwarts, but he rarely payed attention to anyone he didn't think significant.
"What's it to you?" he asked before purposely stepping in front of her in line. Yeah, he was riding, but he wasn't sure why he had to clear that with a stranger first. Unless... "I'm not sitting with you, if that's what you're asking."

A magical carnival had come to Diagon Alley and Emily was over the moon with excitement. Early on she had left her twin brother Dylan’s side by the petting zoo. He was mesmerized by all the petable creatures by she wanted to explore and see everything. After promising wholeheartedly to her big brother Joshua that she’d meet him by the food stand in an hour the blond pig tailed teen girl left for the zouwu coaster with galleons to spend.
Sprinting towards the line up for the coaster Emily took her place behind another girl that looked as equally excited to await her turn. As a thought crossed her mind she reached forward to nudge the other girl on the arm asking. "Do you think witches can get motionsickness?"

A nudge brought her out of her thoughts. A girl that was probably around her age. Maybe they could ride together? "Does it matter? Motion sickness or not, a witch shouldn't miss this kind of opportunity!" It wasn't everyday you could pay 3 galleons to ride a zouwu!

Ethan was practically bouncing up and down on the spot as he got in line for the Zouwu Coaster! He was so excited to go on it, and practically everything in this carnival had his blue eyes wide and shining! The almost 7th year Ravenclaw hadn’t been this excited about something since well..

His excitement dimmed just a bit as he turned to look at Aaliyah and smiled warmly at her.
“Are you sure you okay going on this? We can hit the food stalls if we want?” Because Ethan had seen those and he wanted one of each of what was on the menu!
He felt like he couldn’t get enough food in him lately, his appetite had returned with a vengeance this summer Probably another growth spurt, seeing as his robes were now three inches too short!

With a gentle tug on her hand, Koen steered them over to the correct line so they could wait for their turn. Stasya herself had been splitting her attention between listening to conversations going on around them and watching the Zouwu to determine exactly if she thought the carnival was being humane enough allowing people to treat an elderly Zouwu as a tour guide. Not that she needed a tour of Diagon Alley, having spent time here for nearly a decade when she wasn’t at school. The sixteen-year-old prefect simply felt like that was a better way of thinking about it instead of treating the poor creature like a Muggle automobile or something. “I’d think it might want to get its exercise in a way that it wants to, though. Not being forced to carry random kids around a predetermined course,” she mused aloud, the hints of the girl who had protested killing insects in Potions class and nearly dropped Herbology simply because she hadn’t backed out of the mandrake lesson that hadn’t been required.
Conversely, she still was curious what riding on a Zouwu would feel like, even if so far she wasn’t adding the creature to her endless list of creatures she wanted to adopt. Maybe it wasn’t endless, exactly, as she’d not added any creatures to it since she’d decided she wanted a winged horse in addition to the goat he suspected Derf was still trying to acquire for her.
Koen’s question was rewarded with a grin, either way, as she joined him in the appropriate line. “I’m not against it.” She was a Gryffindor, after all. The bravery and recklessness showed in different ways than most other Lions, but it was still there.

Okay, so she'd hadn't known until just now what, exactly, a Zouwu was. But the fact that it basically looked like a giant housecat with fangs didn't deter Archer one bit. Nope, she paid her three galleons and joined the 'Adrenaline Junkie' line, bouncing a little on her heels to see how fast the line was moving. Impatient, why yes, she was. It was hot out here, the kind of hot that made waiting in line for any length of time unbearable, even with a cooling charm.
'Come on, come on, before I melt!'

Standing in the line Emily peered forth at the gigantic and very real looking zouwu cat with it’s scraggly mane, amazing colored coat and scary fangs and not to mention claws. Without knowing that she did it Emily tugged a blond strand of her left pigtail to her mouth as she started to chew on it nervously. Could she really ride this beast without falling off or worse getting sick? Should she back out now when she still could?
Emily was pulled out of her thoughts as the girl in front turned to answer her question, causing Emily to quickly pull the hair out of her mouth. Chewing on her lower lip she nodded silently in agreement to the other girl's statement before she asked tentatively. "Can we ride together? I’m scared of sliding off the cat."

There was a smirk on Koen's lips. Not the kind of smirk that meant he was up to something or had already done something he shouldn't have. No, this was a smirk to show he already knew she was going to make comments on that older Zouwu carrying people around. It was something he really liked about her, the way she spoke up for creatures and didn't back down when she believed in something. "Fair point but I'd like to think that if the Zouwu really was unhappy with the task it would let people know." Creatures had a way of letting you know when they didn't like something.
Koen wouldn't be at all surprised if Stasya ended up with loads of creatures one she graduated Hogwarts. He already knew of a few that she wanted to have and if it were up to him, he would see to it that she got them all.
Lightly squeezing her hand, he moved up in line. "Well that's good seeing as to how we're already in line." Laughing jokingly he gave her the tiniest playful nudge with his shoulder against hers.
