Sorry it has taken so long, everyone...I git a new job, yard sale and lots going on...anyway, here is the chapter you have been waiting for!
The Wedding.
The next morning found Hermione nervously standing in the bathroom getting dressed for her special day. Ginny, Fleur and Molly were helping her get into her wedding dress. Harry, Fred, George and their brothers Charlie and Bill were helping Ron get into his new dress robes. He would finally be wearing something that wasn't maroon!
His black satin pants were brand new as was his shirt, which was silver with poofy long sleeves and wide collar. His cumberbun was dark purple, which matched his long dress robe, but the robe was sparkling with small silver stars that seemed to spread out into a wonderous purple velvet universe.
"Wow!" Fred said. "I can't wait to see Hermione's face when she sees you, brother!"
"She'll fall in love with you all over again," George added.
Ron looked at Harry's face. It was filled with wonder and joy. Ron then knew his brother's weren't pulling a mickey on him.
Meanwhile, in the bathroom, Hermione was slipping into her dress. It had belonged to her mother, and was pale pink with small green leaves and bright pink roses on the chest and at the bottom of the skirt, which came flowing right down to the floor. The dress was strapless, and Hermione had added her own special touch by adding some small and delicate live white butterflies to the gown. Molly had made Hermione's pale pink veil, which was simple lace covered with fairy dust sparkles. She carried a bouquet of bright pink roses and white carnations.
Hermione wore her hair up, like she had for the Yule Ball, but short ringlets of curls cascaded down both sides of her face, creating a very feminine look.
Ginny sighed as Molly wiped tears from her eyes.
"You look beautiful!" Molly whispered.
"I hope I am as beautiful as you when I get married," Ginny said whistfully.
"You both ess butiful!" Fleur stated, looking at Ginny with her long hair up for the ceremony and wearing her long, soft green bridesmaid dress.
Hermione and Ginny both smiled at Fleur.
"It's time," Molly said. "Hermione, we need to get you over to the dock. Harry and Arthur will come pick you and Ginny up in the boat and take you over to the island. Fleur, Ginny, Tonks and Minerva, as well as myself, will meet you over there. Ron will be waiting at the altar with Remus."
Hermione blushed nervously, but Ginny took her hand and the two walked out of the house toward the docks. They soon said goodbye to Molly and Fleur who took the left branch of the path as Hermione and Ginny took the right.
A short time later, the two found themselves at the dock. They stood and watched as a small boat made its way towards them.
"This is going to be a beautiful wedding," Ginny said softly.
Hermione looked at her and nodded, too moved to speak.
"In we go, you two," Arthur said as he and Harry reached out their hands to help the two girls climb inside the boat. Hermione noticed, as the boat turned and made its way back toward the island, that Harry couldn't seem to be able to tear his eyes away from Ginny.
"There may be another wedding before too long," Hermione said to herself, and smiled happily.
When they reached the island, Harry jumped out to help the girls back onto land as Arthur helped from the inside of the boat. Once on shore, Arthur took Hermione by the arm and Harry did the same with Ginny as they walked toward the meadow where the ceremony would take place. Neither Harry, Arthur or Ginny had yet seen the special place Ron and Hermione had created for their ceremony. Three mouths dropped in awe as the scene came into view. Multicolored butterflies danced in joy and the waterfall sparkled in the sunlight as it reflected the myriads of colors surrounding it. Birds seemed to perform a chorus as the bride approached. The guests stood waiting for the procession that would deliver Hermione to Ron. Several Hogwart's teachers were there, including Hagrid, his brother Grawp, Professor Sprout, Professor Trelawney, Madam Pomfrey and others. Nearly Headless Nick was also there, arm in arm with a female ghost. Neville and Luna Longbottom were there, as was Ernie, Justin, Susan, and several other students and former DA members. The Minister of Magic was there along with several Order Members, including Mad-Eye Moody.
But Hermione could not take her eyes off the man standing in front.....an extremely tall and handsome red-haired young man....the one to whom she had promised herself to....waiting for her...a large smile on his face and a sparkle in his eyes.
"Are you ready?" Arthur whispered in her ear.
Hermione shook her head yes, again, too overcome with emotion to speak.
Harry and Ginny led Hermione and Arthur down the aisle path towards Ron and Remus.
"The flowers have never smelled so sweet!" Hermione thought to herself as she walked, arm-in-arm with her soon-to-be father-in-law. She felt as if she were floating, not taking the steps she knew she was taking. Suddenly she felt that both of her parents were walking alongside of her, accompanying her on this, her special day. She felt their pleasure and smiled wistfully.
Ron watched his bride approach. He was filled with joy and pride, but as he watched her, he noticed that she had never seemed as beautiful to him as she did right now...and she had always been beautiful to him. Now, she took his breath away!
Hermione looked at Ron. She also was filled with pride and joy. He had never seemed so handsome to her before, although she had always thought him handsome. Now, he took her breath away!
They looked deeply into each other's eyes as Arthur handed the bride over to the groom. Now, the two turned to face Remus Lupin, the one who would tie their hearts together as one through ceremony. Harry stood next to Ron while Ginny stood next to Hermione.

Her dress is absolutly gorgeous! I love the detail on it. Pink is a great color for Hermione's complexion and brown hair. I love it! I especially love that it was her mother's, that is awesome that even though her mother could not be there she was able to wear something that was her's, and therfore connected her to her mother.

Weddings are wonderfully joyous occasions. We all love weddings! *grins evily* (is 'evily' even a word?!)

Loved the post, can't wait to hear their vows, are they custom made vows, or just the normal wedding vows?

The Vows

As Hermione and Ron turned to face Lupin, Molly approached to srand next to Hermione and Ginny as Harry came to stand next to Ron and Arthur.
Lupin smiled.
"We are here today to bear witness to the joining together of Hermione Granger and Ronald Weasley in Holy Matramony," he said. "These two lovers have chosen their own words to share with the those they consider to be their friends, their family. Hermione, will you please go first?"
Hermione turned a bit pink, but nodded her head in ascent as she turned to face Ron.
"My dearest love," she began. "I cannot think of one day in my life where you haven't been there beside me, sharing both the good and the bad with me. My life truly began on the Hogwart's Express all those years ago, when we first met while I was trying to help Neville find his lost toad and came into the cabin that held both my best friend Harry and a freakled, red-haired kid that I came to love, despite that bit of dirt on your nose and the fact that you couldn't turn your rat yellow with that silly spell your brother's gave you. I think I knew then what I know now, although I was too young to realize it. Since that day we have fought trolls, chessmen, Umbridge, Deatheaters, Voldemort and each other, but, together, we survived it all and our love has kept growning as we as we grew into adulthood. It is right that we stand here today, prepared to give our hearts to each other in front of all those who have cared and supported us through those good and bad times."
Molly and Arthur, as well as several others, wiped the tears from their eyes as Hermione spoke.
Lupin then turned to Ron, whose face turned bright red as he turned to look at Hermione, holding her hands in his.
"My dearest love," he began. "I stand here today to give you publically what you already have, my heart and my soul. There were times when I thought we would never get here, mostly due to my own insecurities, but you stayed by my side anyway. You never gave up hope. You were always the strong one, Hermione. And if it wasn't for that strength, I might have given up on myself years ago. But you wouldn't let me, and you were determined that I had to figure these things out for myself along the way. It was the final battle that finally made it all become clear to me. We faced the worst of our fears on that day, but we survived, like we always have. I no longer had anything left to fear because I had faced the worst already. I will be ever thankful for your patience with me, and finally, I think I got rid of that dirt smudge on my nose!"
Ron smiled broadly as laughter rang out around them. Hermione leaned into him and put her head on his shoulder for a moment before turning again to face Lupin.
"It is with pride that I now join these two together in wedlock." Lupin said. "May we have the rings, please,"
Harry stepped forward and turned to face his friend. Ginny did the same, coming to a stop in front of Hermione. Then, they both handed Hermione and Ron their rings, which were a surprise gift from Molly and Arthur. Both rings had belonged to Hermione's parents. Both Ron and Hermione had tears in their eyes as they again turned toward each other, Ron placing Hermione's mother's wedding ring on her finger and she placing her father's wedding band on his. They looked deeply into each other's eyes as Lupin said those words......."I now pronounce you husband and wife." They kissed each other passionately as the roar of many voices cheered them on. Harry and Ginny stood together, looking at each other. They seemed to be studying each other as they smiled.
"I now present to you," Lupin shouted over the dimming voices, "Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Weasley!"
Everyone stood and came over to the couple to express their best wishes. Voices buzzed through the meadow along with the chirrups of the birds and the humming of the bees.....but suddenly there was a new sound.... it softly, but steadily intruded upon the scene....it was hauntingly familiar, and they all knew they had heard that sound before but none could place it. The crowd became silent, listening intently, puzzled looks on their faces. It came to Harry first.
"It's Fawkes!" he cried. "Fawkes in coming!"
Sure enough, everyone suddenly saw the glittering of reds and golds against the bright blue sky. It was coming closer. Lupin smiled and Harry looked at him questioningly, but the wizard remained silent.
The group watched as the bird flew closer, then circled once above the crowd before landing on the alter next to where Lupin stood.
"Ladies and gentleman," Lupin said. "If you'll please take you seats, I will explain what is going on."
Everyone hurried back to their seats excitedly. Harry, Ginny, Ron and Hermione looked around for a place to sit, but Lupin motioned them to stay where they were. They looked at each other in wonder. Once everyone was seated, Lupin called Professor McGonagall to come up front with them.
Minerva then turned to face Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny.
"Professor Dumbledore left me a very special letter when he died," She began. "In that letter he stated that, after Voldemort's defeat, that Fawkes should become the property of Mr. Harry Potter and his friends Ron, Hermione and Ginny. These four have already earned the trust of this Phoenix long ago and have prooved their dedication to their friendship with Albus Dumbledore and their commitment to share in his beliefs and ideals. This very important and magical bird now belongs to them. It was decided that the bird should be presented to them here today in honor of the strength of both the bond of love between Ron and Hermione and the bond of love and friendship between the four of these couragous young wizards."
Fawkes looked at the four of them together and burst into the most beautiful song they had ever heard. It was no longer the mournful cry they had heard at Dumbledore's funeral, but joyous and exhaulting. Each of the four took turns in walking up to Fawkes and stroking his firery golden/bronze back in greeting. Then, the beautiful bird flew up to Harry's shoulder as Lupin gave the sign for the newlyweds to lead the way back down the aisle for their reception. They each walked away with a new sense of pride in each other.

AH!!!! I love it! That was so beautiful and Joyous! I had tears in my eyes as I read it! How wonderful that they prepared their own vows. I love the fact that they touched on their first meeting! I am also glad that Fawkes is with them!

After Ron and Hermione walked back up the aisle, which officially signaled the end of the ceremony, they stopped and waited for their guests to catch up. They found they were in for another pleasent surprise as Arthur and Molly led them all down another path to a small, but comfortable cabin.
"We know that you didn't plan to have time for a Honeymoon," Arthur said. "So we arranged one for you!"
"We couldn't just have you come back to the Burrow as if nothing had happened," Molly said, grinning from ear to ear. "We borrowed this cabin from some friends of Arthur's at the Ministry for you to use for two days. You two will want some privacy now that you're married. We'll send food over to you by owl. Everything you need is inside. We'll see you in two days!"
Everyone again congratulated the newly-weds then quickly left the stunned couple standing outside the door of the cabin.
The two stood looking at each other in wonder for several minutes before breaking into smiles. Ron grabbed his wife, picked her up and carried her inside the cabin. It WAS perfect! Inside they found their broomsticks, fresh clothing, swim suits if they wanted to take a swim, snacks, some wine and Butterbeer, a small wedding cake. furniture and a comfortable bed.
Later than evening, the two sat on the porch, watching the Sun begin to set. Several deer browsed close by and the birds were singing as they made towards their roosts. The setting Sun created a marveolous Sunset, speading colors they couldn't begin to name across the heavens. Soon, the night creatures began their chatter as the newlyweds watched the colors fade only to be replaced by bright stars and a large Harvest Moon. Hermione began to shiver a little, and snuggled into Ron's warm body. There they sat for a while until Ron looked deeply into his young wife's eyes. She looked deeply into his in return. Ron stood up and reached out his hand to his wife, who gentle grasped it in hers as she sighed contentedly and rose to stand beside him. Then, they both walked inside the cabin and shut the door.
Two days later, the couple returned to the Burrow where they were welcomed with what they considered to be a feast, then, after dinner, opened their gifts.
Their friends had been generous. Hermione found she had enough to get started on redecorating what would soon become their permanent home. She sat quietly for a few minutes, and felt that her parents would be glad that she and Ron would be making a new life for themselves in their home. But before they could leave for home, Ron and Hermione, accompanied by Harry and Ginny, had one stop to make - the Ministry of Magic where, tomorrow, they would begin their new careers as Aurors. She closed her eyes and imagined the four of them together going out on a case. She felt the excitement as well as the apprehension that going on a case would bring, but, they were together, not one of them sitting home worrying about the other! They were all in it together.
Ron came over and put his arm around her.
"What are you daydreaming about? He asked, smiling.
"Tomorrow!" Hermione replied, smiling back at her husband.

Awwww. So sweet. I loved it! PAMS.

The next morning found Hermione and Ron, along with Harry and Ginny, at the Ministry of Magic in the Auror office speaking to the newly appointed head - Kingsley Shacklebolt.
It was there that Hermione's vision of the four of them working together was shattered somewhat.
"We will not always need the four of you on a case," Kingsley told them. "And you may also be sent, individually, with other groups as needed. But there will be times when we'll need you all together as well. Remember, things have quieted down quite a bit since the Wizard's War ended, so, if you are only looking for excitement and action, I am afraid you will be sorely disappointed. Much of what we do can be mundane and tedious, but of no less importance! Is that understood?"
The four candidates nodded.
"Good!" Kingsley said. "You will start with special classes that are held three times a week. The location may be moved around depending on what is required of that lesson, but you always meet here beforehand. You all will begin on Monday, and I suggest you read over the materials I am giving you before then so that you know what to expect. I know all your strengths and your weaknesses, I watched you all closley during the battles. You all come highly recommended, so I wish you all good luck. I think you will make it throught the program all right. I will be here if you need to speak to me during the course of the class."
Kingsley then handed out the materials they would need.
"I will see you all at 9 a.m. Monday morning!" He said, dismissing them.
The four walked down the corridor that would take them back to the lifts for their journey back up to the street.
"Well, that was enlightening," Hermione said shaking her head slowly.
"Yes," Harry said, "But we really should have figured that it would be that way now that the wars is over and there are no Death Eaters to hunt down."
"I agree," Ginny said. "But remember, there will always be more potential dark wizards who we need to stop from gaining the kind of power Voldemort did if we are to prevent any more of these wars down the road. Our jobs are still very important!"
"Yes," Hermione agreed. "I guess I was just hoping that we would be able to do more things together as a group.
"Don't worry, hon," Ron said, squeezing his wife's shoulder gently. "There will be times when we will be together."
Hermione smiled up at him and saw the sparkle in his bright blue eyes. She hugged him closely.
"Lets see," Harry said, a smirk on his face. "What shall we do now that we have some extra free time."
Ginny punched his arm lightly.
"Have you forgotten already?" She said, grinning. "We have to help Ron and Hermione get settled into their new home!"
Hermione and Ron looked at them questioningly.
"Well, you see," Ginny began before Harry finished for her by saying "You got so much stuff for your wedding, the two of you can't possibly carry it all by yourselves, so Ginny and I have decided to help you get it all to your house."
"Wow," Ron said. "I hadn't thought of that! Thank you!"
Hermione smiled at her friends.
"Yes, I suppose we could really use the help!" she said. "It will be great to get settled in, but it is going to be strange without you two around to bug us all the time...."
"Watch it," Harry said. "We know where you live!"
They all broke up laughing as they made their way past the fountain and over to the fireplace to take the quick route home. They all could apperate, but found traveling by floo powder to be more comfortable and used it whenever possible.
Molly looked up from cutting up some meat for whatever was simmering in the cauldren as the four slid out of the fireplace and into the kitchen. Whatever Molly was cooking smelled wonderful!
"I always know which grate to get out of by the wonderful smells of your cooking," Hermione said to the woman who was like her second mother. She went over and surprised Molly with a big hug.
"Welcome back!" Molly said. "How did it go?"
"We start classes Monday morning, Mum," Ron said.
"Oh I am so happy for you all," Molly squeeled. "And so proud!"
"Thank you!" they four replied, rather embarassed by Molly's praise.
"What's cooking, Mum?" Ginny asked.
"I'm making a special dinner for you lot," Molly said, rather mysteriously. "You'll have to wait until supper to find out!"
"Ah, Mum!" Ginny whined in a great imitation of Fred and George. "But we're starving now and its hours until suppertime!"
"Then get yourselves some sandwiches!" Molly replied in mock anger.
"Actually, Mum," Ron said, a mischevious twinkle in his eye "This is perfect. Harry and Ginny are going to help us clear out your sitting room. We will be moving all that junk
Ron and Hermione got over to their house so they can get settled faster."
Molly's eye's misted over a little, but she smiled in return. "I know you are both anxious to get settled," she said. "You lot go on and get that done then come back and join us for supper before you go back to the house for the night."
Hermione saw the pain in Molly's eyes despite her attempts to cover it up. She moved over to the woman and put her arms around her.
"Molly, I am going to miss being her too, but you know we will be back often to visit and probably even to stay at times because you are closer to the Ministry than we will be. Our jobs will see that Ron and I are here enough to make you wish we'd just go home!"
Molly laughed.
"Your're right, of course," she said as she returned Hermione's hug. "But I could never get tired of having you here!"
The four left Molly to her cooking and went to the sitting room where they loaded up their arms with packages. Soon four small explosions let Molly know that they had apperated with the first load. She smiled. Her Ron and Hermione would make their own life together now. It had happened with Bill and his wife Fleur and with Charlie and his wife. It would someday, perhaps soon, happen with Ginny because she saw the love in Harry's eyes when he looked at her only daughter. She knew she could never be prouder having Harry as her son-in-law! The thought of her children all grown up was bittersweet, but she knew that, wherever they went, they would always be nearby. She wouldn't have much of a chance to really miss them too much.
"I am so blessed," she said to herself.

Hermione, Ron, Harry and Ginny made several trips back and forth from the Burrow to Hermione and Ron's new home. Soon, the house that had been her parents' had turned into their own home, decorated the way they wanted, which made it less painful for Hermione. They had all put their defensive spells on the house and made it unplottable, because their new jobs as Aurors could leave them vulnerable to retributionary attacks.
The two newlyweds ate a wonderful, but quick dinner at the Burrow before returning home for their first night in their own home. Everyone understood their desire to be alone .
The next few days, the two put the finishing touches on their home and enjoyed their undisturbed time together before the time came to report for their new jobs.
That time came quickly. Too quickly, really, for Hermione and Ron. But that Monday morning, they apperrated to the Ministry to begin their training.
It was under the watchful eye of Kingsley Shacklebolt, Remus Lupin and Mad Eye Moody that the class of seven students began their lessons. There were several areas of study that had to be mastered before any of them could become full-fledged Aurors. There was, of course, self-defense, which covered magical charms and spells as well as physical training in the Martial Arts. Then there was concealment where they learned to art of blending in to their surroundings with cunning and stealth. Apparition was only one way to get from point A to point B quickly and quietly. Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny found this class extremely challenging. Each began the process of becoming animagi. Ginny chose to become a cat while Harry chose to become a stag, like his father. Hermione, however, took the challenge to become an owl, which was terribly difficult, but an owl could move quicker than a four-legged animal. Ron had a hard time deciding before he finally chose a bear.....not so fast moving, but extremely powerful. With the aid of Tonks, Remus and several other Aurors who became animagi, the process was speeded up, but it would still take them over a year to finally get the proper hang of it.
Potions was a chore for Harry and Ron both, but Hermione and Ginny both excelled in this class. Both the boys wished they had paid more attention to this class at Hogwarts, but they were finally able to buckle down with the proper teachers and gain the knowledge they needed to make just about any potion they may need.
There were several other classes as well, and Hermione, Ron, Harry and Ginny were surprised and pleased on that first day to find Neville among their three other classmates.
Neville had changed a lot over the course of the battles they had fought against Voldemort and his Death Eaters. He was now a very confident and competant young wizard. He had married Luna Lovegood, but she had chosen to help with her father's newspaper, the Quibbler, rather than become an Auror.
"It's becoming a much more respectible newspaper now," Neville told them during one break. "It seems that after Luna took that trip with her father to try and discover those Crumpled-horn Snorkaks, which failed miserably, Luna seemed to decide that her father was wrong about all those non-existent creatures he had told her about when she was younger. She laughs at her own culpability now. She is a different person with her illusions gone. She has really made a difference in the legitamacy of that newspaper."
"We'll have to have you both over sometime," Ron and Hermione told him after he congradulated them on their wedding.
"Certainly," Hermione said. "I would love to see Luna again!"
Soon, it was back to work and the four found themselves doing some practical work after several weeks of studies.
This work involved everything from meeting with the Minister of magic, who was still Rufus Scimgeour, to hiding behind smelly garbage cans watching a suspect quietly as they observed as to whether or not they were the one that was sabotaging the Muggle's payphones in the area. It seems that whenever a muggle used one of the jinxed phones, they became hypnotized and started arguments with the next person they saw, which often led to one of them getting trounced and sent to St. Mungo's to heal and forget.
"Where most of these are just down-right prankish muggle-baiting," Lupin told them, "It could lead the perp on to more dangerous or evil things. This is what we want to watch because if that wizard is powerhungry enough, we could have another dark wizard on our hands later. We want to stop this before it happens. That is why we observe those we know are doing these things. The Ministry has its offices that deal with these people on the legal basis. We report to them what we observe, but we don't get involved. We want to keep watching these known perps for signs of deeper aspirations. When we spot those signs, it is then we move in and arrest that person and try to rehabilitate them before they can get more powerful. Those who cross that certain line, however, are sent to the new wizard's prison indefinately where they cannot do any more harm."
More and more classes in obervation and detection were now being taught to the seven new students, and before much more time had passed, two of their classmates had been dismissed due to their failing grades. Harry, Hermione, Ron, Ginny, and Neville however, were maintaining the grades they needed to move on.
