This office has been the home to a number of esteemed astronomers over the years since Hogwarts founding they are; Bade Ziarre, Zaria Dainsie, Laura Rierdan, Mallory Hutchinson, Hazelle Belle, the late Edward Forrester, Linnea West, Maidiee Mc Farlane, Risu Antares and currently Professor Edvard Roslund.
The first thing you see when you enter the office is two big comfy chairs that look inviting. In front of them stands a big, sturdy oak desk with all the necessities a professor might need like quills, ink bottles and stacks of parchment. Professor Roslund has his own chair behind the desk which looks similar to a comfy chair, but isn't. It was specially designed by his brother with a lot of different handy features both magical and muggle. I wouldn't sit in it unless, Professor Roslund is present there is no telling what might happen otherwise.
On the wall behind the desk a few picture frames of the Roslund family are put up. To the left and right of the picture frames, book shelves and cup boards bursting with astronomy books, instruments and equipment can be found. To the left of the room when you enter there is a small fireplace with a fire usually burning.
OOC: No, there is no waiting area, but please do not clog up this thread with useless chatter of 'waiting to enter'. Have your character knock and then wait for Professor Roslund to respond to either enter or to come back later.
There are plenty of places around the school that allow for chat with your friends; Professor Roslund's office is NOT the place for it and doing as such will be cause for appropriate discipline actions.
Any questions or concerns or appointment requests, please PM me. I'm trying something new this term.
Morning before classes was for Bentley's present detection. Afternoon and after classes was for professor Roslund's present. Luckily, he wasn't under the telescope of betrayal like Bentley so this shouldn't be a nervous encounter. Standing in front of the office's door, Louisa knocked twice. A light blue present box was tucked under her arm as she waited for the professor to answer.
Unless he was enjoying the summer breeze out in the grounds. It was evening after all. Also, did professors stay in their offices most of the time?

Edvard was sitting in his office reading a letter from his youngest sibling, Olivia. She had managed to get into a bit of a tiff with the local library since she had not returned a lot of books and now she wanted him to sort it all out. *sigh* Sometimes his sister could be so irresponsible. Edvard was about to put his quill to a parchment to write back when he heard a knock on his door.
Clearing his throat he called out loudly "Come in!"

Who could want to see him late in the evening?
Hearing the familiar voice, Louisa pushed open the door and peered inside to see if he was alone or not. "Good evening, Professor." She went inside once her eyes spotted the empty office. Again, it was her first time into Roslund's office. It was elegant and very classy. The leather couch drew her attention quickly and she fancied trying flopping down on it. But didn't. It was rude. Who knew aunt Brown's teaching would do her good after all?
Shyly, the girl walked closer fidgeting with the box in her hand. "I brought you something. I found Astrononmy really entertaining last term and.." COUGHCOUGH. "..wanted to express gratitude." Yes, she was quoting from one of her novels. GAH! The girl's arm was stretched then to hand the professor a fairly large box. A chapeau and a perfume was wrapped inside. "They're from Brazil." Just so he knew. Ahem. The girl's cheeks were faintly rosy and she had her fingers crossed. He wouldn't mind wearing a hat some day, would he?

Minerva walked up to the office door and knocked. She waited for the professor to come to the door. She looked around at one of her favorite places to be. She couldn't wait to see the stars from up here again.
Hopefully the Astronomy professor could help him. He had been the one person on the dias who had looked nice enough to Lewis. For one he wasn't doing anything weird like burping colorful bubbles or fainting or something like that. And he hadn't been playing pranks on the other professors. At least Lewis hadn't seen him doing anything of the like. He really didn't like people playing pranks. No, he didn't.
So, slowly walking up to the professor's office, Lewis hesitated for a moment, reading the name tag on the door. Professor Roslund. Was that the nice guy from the staff table? Seeing as they were seated according to what they taught and he had been sitting on the Astronomy seat he should be. If he wasn't he was just going to...leave again. And quickly too.
So after a deep breath he took another step forward and raised his hand to knock on the door three times. And now he was going to wait.

Alyssa quickly walked up to the door of her Astronomy Studies Professor's Office. She knew that Professor Roslund would most likely be busy but she had decided that this term she would be spending some time star gazing and she needed permission to visit the Astronomy Tower after school curfew time. She checked to make sure that her shoes were clean and then reached up to knock on his door.
Messer was eager to see the Observatory but he's more eager to see the Professor who happen to share the same first name with him. He slowly made his way up to the Professor's office. Its on the seventh floor so its very long way from the Hufflepuff common room. He tried to catch his breath first before he went to knock the door. He just hope that the Astronomy Professor was in his office.
Knock! Knock! Knock!

"Good evening Miss Carter!" Edvard greeted with a warm smile. What could she want at this time of night? He watched at the Ravenclaw girl eyed his new couch longingly before coming closer with a box in her hands.
Almost fidgeting she presented it to him. Taking it he said beaming "I’m glad you found Astronomy entertaining last year. I hope I can continue the entertaining lesson spell." Opening the box carefully he took out the hat and placed it on his head. Twirling on the spot he said genuinly moved "Thank you Louisa. I’ve been looking for a hat like this for a long time."
Extracting the perfume next he pulled out the cork to the smell the liquid. "Not too strong but a nice smell just how i like it." Putting the cork back in he placed the perfume on his desk. Turning to Louisa he said "Thank you very much for these presents. I didn’t expect them. Did you visit Brazil on your summer break?"

YES!
It actually was the right man. He was at the right office door after all. Smiling at the man, Lewis quickly slipped inside...and stopped short at what he saw. There was already somebody else inside the office. And then, more and more people started to arrive, leaving the office quite crowded. What did they all want from the professor NOW!?
Quickly slipping to a quiet corner so he wasn't in the way of anybody, he waited for the professor to close the door again. Couldn't he have closed it right after Lewis had entered?! Without looking at anybody else, he simply kept his gaze on Professor Roslund as he said quietly, "Should I come back at...another time?" When there weren't about a zillion other people in his office.
"Louisa." The girl corrected the Professor when he called her 'Miss Carter'. She didn't like formality with those she admired. "I'm sure it'll be just as entertaining and educational this year as well." She agreed with a big smile that deepened her blush, "I hope having OWLs doesn't alter this fact." Instinctively, she brought her hand up to her mouth, biting on what was left of her fingernails.
Soon her bad habit was paused as the Professor tried the hat on. Louisa's face beamed, "It looks great on you, sir!" Yep and not just because she bought it for him. Oh and the perfume was good too! See why Louisa liked this man? He was so nice and un-adult-ish. Totally a word. "I'm really glad you like them. I've never bought anything to a.. man before." She blinked at the sentence. It sounded.. weirder than it was meant to be.
"Yes. My b- friend." For some reason, Louisa was awkward to say the word 'boyfriend' in front of a professor. It wasn't classy. "He lives in Brazil and invited me over. It was really great to be there. It wasn't summer when I went there, more like spring but I still enjoyed it. Did you have a good summer, sir?" It was only polite to ask.

Professor Roslund beamed at the young badger. "I appreciate the offer Minerva and I’ll keep it in mind if something were to arise, right now though I’m managing on my own. If I need help I’ll let you know."
It was really nice and foreboding of the badger to offer help at the beginning of term when everyone was settling into the Hogwarts routine again after the holidays.

Edvard still felt sketchy about etiquette and how to address student’s when they visited him in different situations like his office. Making a mental note to ask Gemma later the Swede focused his attention on the only Ravenclaw in his office. Coughing he replied "I will certainly do my best. Anything special you’d like to learn about this year?" It couldn’t hurt to get some student voices on what to teach even if he had a curriculum.
OWL’s….
"I’m sure you’ll do fine Louisa. You shouldn’t start freaking out already. Make a revision table for yourself with time for friends and having fun." Edvard replied trying to sound reassuring. Giving advice didn’t come easy to him but she had come to him so he would do his best.

Trying to smooth over the awkward moment he said "I did have a good summer. I went on a vacation to the canary islands." With my family but he left that part out for some reason.
"So your boyfriend is from brazil? Does he by any chance go to Hogwarts?" Edvard enquired slightly curious. It couldn’t hurt to be up to date with the romance amongst the students.

"I know that you're busy right now, so thank you for taking the time to speak with me. I can't wait to go check out the stars now." Alyssa smiled at the Professor one more time before she left the office.

Anything special to learn this year? WELL! Louisa's face brightened at this question and she shifted in her place, "Do you really think that my opinion matters, sir?" Because Louisa had a very different view on adult's snobbish and their crave for laying down rules for the younger to follow. She, actually, disliked them for this. BUT! Professor Roslund had asked her opinion. And not only this, but he wanted it for something of his expertise. That was.. WHAO. Just awesome. "I don't know, sir, but I was really intrigued by last term's topic about moon cycle and its affect on our magic. Some werewolf talk is exciting too." Giggling at this and putting her hand over her mouth in a girlish way.
Okay. Something was going on in the girl's head, Louisa never let her guard down around professors. Well, only Bentley but even this was new!
Listening intently at his advice about study, the fifteen years old nodded her head. "I should do this. In fact, I'm planning on preparing ahead in some subjects." Because she was a Ravenclaw, a hard working one at that, and yep she knew that about herself. "Thank you for the advice." She made a mental note of coming to Roslund whenever her OWLs got the best of her.
Blushing a bit, the girl nodded. "He does come to Hogwarts. He stays here with his father in school time and goes back to his mother in holidays. João Neves, sixth year, Slytherin." Who doesn't take Astronomy, she wanted to say but shut up trying to avoid any other awkward moments.
"Did you go there by yourself, sir?" Raising her eyebrows at that. Going on a vacation to such beautiful place was boring without company. And Louisa's curiosity tugged at the girl's tongue to know whether he was married or not. Or dating. Or something.
For the fifth time that night it knocked on his door. What was going on? Since when had he become so popular amongst the badger house? Had Josephina urged them to come see him? Shrugging Edvard held open his door to usher another boy in "Come in, come in. There is plenty of room. Take a seat in one of the comfy chairs or on the couch and help yourself to the candy if you’re hungry."
Shutting the door Edvard walked back round his desk and sat down in his chair wondering what all the student’s could be there to see him about at the late hour.
Messer entered the Professor's office and saw there already some students there. Maybe he's choosing a bad time to visit the Astronomy Professor. Then he heard the Professor offering him candy. Who can resist a candy? Certainly not him! "Thanks, Professor." He took some candies and put it on his robe's pocket. Saved for later.
"Good evening, Professor. I'm here to introduce myself, sir." And I also want to know the Professor who happen to share the same first name with me."I'm Messer. Edvard Messer. First year Hufflepuff." He introduce himself. "But please call me Messer." Because he know that it'd be so weird for the Professor calling him by his first name, not to mention he didn't like it when people called him by his first name.

The teenage boy in Hufflepuff robes seemed to be a contemplative youth with a lot of things on his mind. Was it a common trait with Hufflepuff students, he wondered as he continued to sip on his tea. Seren had rubbed off on him since now tea wasn’t just hot water to him.
"Pleasure to meet you Lewis, in what year are you?" Eddie shot the boy a warm smile. Eyes widening slightly at the unorthodox request Professor Roslund nodded "Yes I have an owl that you could borrow. He is currently in the Owlery though, getting some shut eye. Pausing for a moment he asked "Why do you need my owl’s assistance?" Edvard was going let the boy use Oscar of course but he was interested in knowing for what purpose.

"Oh thank you, Professor. I would love to work with Minnie. We're good friends, so we'll work well together." Alyssa thanked him. "I know that you're busy right now, so thank you for taking the time to speak with me. I can't wait to go check out the stars now." Alyssa smiled at the Professor one more time before she left the office.
"Good bye Alyssa!" Professor Roslund called after the badger as she left with her permission slip. It was encouraging to see that his new challenge was getting some attention which spurred him to continue posting questions on his notice board.

"Bye Minerva! Come back any time, my office is always open." Edvard called after the second Hufflepuff to leave in so many minutes. It meant that he would have more time and focus to dedicate to the other students currently in his office.

Eyes widening he said slightly taken back "Of course your opinion matter’s Louisa, just like any other student’s opinion does." Explaining he continued "To become a great professor I value student input and ideas even if I have a set curriculum to follow," If he’d end up using the input was beside the point.
Werewolves and moon cycles she liked. Noted. Curious he asked "Why did you enjoy that lesson so much?"
"You’re welcome Louisa." Professor Roslund said a little surprised that she would take his advice. He wasn’t exactly an expert advice giver like he had heard Professor Hadley was rumored to be.
On the topic of his holiday he got slightly red around the ears "I, no. I went there with my family. It’s a Roslund family tradition to go get some sun before winter arrives."

The boy was there to introduce himself which was very commendable of the young badger. If only more students would do that Professor Roslund mused. As the boy spoke Edvard blinked and then his face lit up into a wide beam "It’s a pleasure to meet you Edvard… I mean Messer." At least he would have no problem remembering the boys name if he was to come to his class. "Tell me Messer, do you like star-gazing by any chance?"

"Pleasure to meet you, sir." Messer said and gave the Professor a small smile. Then he cringed a little when Professor Roslund called him by his first name. Its not like he didn't like his first name but it reminds him of his father's name and he's not his father. But he grinned when he heard the Professor corrected himself and called him Messer. "Yes. I like star-gazing." Actually Roslund's class was one of the class he's excited for. "How about you, Professor?" he asked even though he could guess his answer. "Are we gonna do some star-gazing on your first class, sir?" He hoped so.

I know we're gonna be stronger than you'll ever known
He had been right about him. Professor Roslund really WAS nice. Maybe he was going to be different in class but right now he was just being really really nice. Unlike other professors."Fifth, Sir. I just transfered here." Lewis had learned to add seemingly interesting information even if it hadn't been inquired after specifically. It was considered...normal?
Professor Roslund seemed surprised by his request to say the least. Only why? A little taken aback by his hesitance and question, Lewis glanced down at his hands in his lap for a moment. "Well, I...need to send somebody a letter, Sir, and I don't have my own owl you see." And who else was he supposed to get an owl from?
Eyes widening he said slightly taken back "Of course your opinion matter’s Louisa, just like any other student’s opinion does." Explaining he continued "To become a great professor I value student input and ideas even if I have a set curriculum to follow," If he’d end up using the input was beside the point.

On the topic of his holiday he got slightly red around the ears "I, no. I went there with my family. It’s a Roslund family tradition to go get some sun before winter arrives."
Her heart was practically fluttering at the professor's confirm. Louisa hadn't feel so... mature and important before. She did when a friend or two asked for her opinion, which was not much since she usually was the young one, but this time was official. Louisa Carter was mature enough. Hehe, she couldn't wait to tell Vashti. "Thank you." This was pure sincere coming out as a whisper.
Why did she enjoy it? Ha! Simple. "Well, school doesn't teach us about werewolves that much. You have to buy an expensive book in order to know more about the matter. I find it really intriguing, the moon cycle affecting werewolves in a monstrous way while it mildly affects others." And the little you told Louisa about something, the more she grew eager to know more. Werewolves weren't the brightest subject to teach youngsters, thus she craved more about them.
Well, well, well... was someone being a bit embarrassed? Despite the hat on the professor's head, Louisa detected the deepening color of his ears. She suppressed a laugh and only smiled, "Oh. Well that sounds fun." She would comment on his slight tan but she didn't want him to think she was being rude. Nope.
"I hope I didn't interrupt your personal time, sir." She concluded, hinting that her visit had done its purpose. She'd LOVE to stay and enjoy the company of Edvard, being mature and important now, but he had other business and things to tend to.

Zhenya had a bit of spare time, and she had sort of said hello to most of the professors she wanted to - all except her Astronomy Professor! The one who had joined with Professor Bentley to give one of the best lessons she had ever been to! This visit was just to say a quick hello!
She went to Professor Roslund's office and knocked at the door, waiting patiently.

Tayla stood in front of Professor Roslund's office. She'd never been there before and she wasn't even sure if he knew her, but she had to ask him something. As she often was when meeting most teachers, Tayla felt a bit nervous. She took and deep breath and knocked on the door. "Professor Roslund?"
