The brilliant colors of the sunset have been painted over by the mystical navy blue of the night sky and as you enter the Astronomy classroom you can see the moon clearly through one of the many windows. The desks are arranged in their usual semi circle to help created a more personal environment, only something seems a bit off as you go to sit down. Both the desk and chair wobble as the legs on one side are longer than the other and cause you to lean quite a bit. Try not to fall out of your seat or have your things fall to the floor, yes?
Did you remember to use the lint roller on the small table outside of the classroom? It was there next to the sign that reads, "Not to be used as a brush for your hair."
A lamp, a quaffle, and 3 can lids painted black rest in the middle of the professor's desk. Professor Flamsteed, wearing the same top hat you may have spotted him with at the Opening Feast, can be seen standing to the right of his desk with a giddy expression on his face and offers you a salute as you move to take your seat.
So come on in and have a seat. Class will begin shortly.

Yay! It was summer in Penelope's bubble. She had made it. Jasmine called out to her. "Penelope, you did it! You made it through all the seasons! Just hang on a minute and we'll get you out of here." Jasmine had overheard the Professor tell other students how to get out of the costume. She hoped to get Penelope out before it got too hot in there.
"Penelope follow me. We're going to make our way over to the side. When we get close, take out your wand and say, "See you around the earth's orbit." "That should get you out of your costume." Jasmine began making her way toward the edge of he room, periodically checking to make sure that Penelope was behind her.

Benny muttered to himself as he fought the momentem of the swing and tried to stop and right himself so he could recover and starting doing some kind of damage control. When he finally managed to do so the leaves were starting to return much to his chagrin. Normally he loved fall but this time it meant bad things, like going backwards on a game board. However on closer inspection there was still a little snow left in his bubble suit.
Had he not gone back all the way?
Was it possible to straddle to seasons?
The Gryffindor wasn't going to linger too long thinking on these things. Nope. The last time he had hesitated it had cost him. So instead he opted to start again and move on, his planet moving back further into winter as the leaves disapated once more and the snow got heavier and heavier.
As the snow was dissipating and the weather temperature rising Bree thought her troubles in this crazy activity were over. Not quite, the ground was now slick in parts from the melted snow. She kept walking foward and suddenly was sliding over the floor just as the pendulum came swinging by again. She leaned far downward but it was too late and this time the pendulum picked her up, "Ahhhhhhh", the pendulum swung her foward and sent her flying foward and when she finally landed in a soft patch of something she started sneezing and realized she must have finally made it to spring and she was in a bed of allergy enhancing flowers, lovely. "Achoo, Achoo, Achooooo"

Ethan got up and continued to walk inside his bubble as he pondered on the leaf. He paused, picked a random one from the pile that was sloooowly accumulating at the bottom of his bubble and nibbled on it.
"Hmm. Not bad." Ethan shrugged and the next thing he knew, the pendulum made him fall back once more.
"Uuuuuurrrrgggggh....."
"Pay attention!" Grunt. Grunt.

Eh. He had to stoop to be comfortable in his planet!orb!costume thing, but ho well. This was going to be entertaining at least. West started slow, letting others kind of take off first so he could partly observe what was going on and also get a bit of an idea of how the pendulum's motion might catch him. And hey it worked, this watching, since other kids got bowled over pretty quick while he stepped out of the way. So he could start moving now yeah? People were out of his way....but alas! A flurry of falling leaves filled his 'planet'. REALLY filled it. So much so that there was no West visible. Just a giant ball FILLED with leaves.
And he couldn't see a THING.

Winter was just a feeeeeeew steps away.
Maybe he should just run for it?

Ethan did a quick run with difficulty, and he eventually tripped on himself sending his ball rolling in a different direction.
The Slytherin sighed loudly inside his ball and just laid on the pile of leaves beneath him. "Nope. Not going to work."

Marigold had poured water on her head with a charm to cleanse herself of bird excrement. And the sun was drying her off quickly. She decided to take her time walking through spring - stopping to smell the flowers, in a way. She did have to jump to avoid the pendulum and people a few times, but she was fiiiine. In fact, when she reached summer, she was surprised it had taken so little time. But ahhhhh, summer. Bees buzzed, and she could imagine kids blowing dandelion fuzz...
It was getting annoying to try to move, not too difficult, but the stickiness of the maple syrup was getting everywhere. Including her hair. It was a thin enough coating so she could still just barely see out of the clear shell in which she was contained. However, it certainly wasn't a pleasant experience! She tried to take another step but slipped and fell flat on her face. Sure it was sticky when she didn't want it to be, but the second she needed traction it turned into a slippery mess. Before she really hadn't minded the syrup, but now it was really getting on her nerves. It had started sluicing down the sides of the planet now and was covering her shoes with the substance. Seriously. This activity had something awful against her today!
The fourth year pressed forward, determined to get to the next season before she drowned in syrup. She was so determined and the syrup so thick that she nearly missed seeing the pendulum out of the corner of her eye. A frantic backpedal fixed that problem, but caused her to nearly run into another student! Definitely needed to get into the next season. She watched for the return pendulum and gooooooooooooooooooooooo!
She barely noticed as the syrup was replaced by flurries of snow and the temperature dropped suddenly. Why did she want to be in Winter again?
Kate was so focused on sneezing and trying to get through spring without falling over that she didn't look around to see the pendulum coming for her. This time, when it hit her, it knocked her forward. So, Kate somersaulted, sneezing, through the remainder of spring.
And then suddenly she didn't need to sneeze anymore, though she was still somersaulting and rolling uncontrollably.
Was that the ocean she smelled? Kate thought so, and dizzily hoped she would hit someone or something and stop before she rolled into the ocean. Though, come to think of it, maybe this planet suit would float… Ah, summer was nice. She could breathe freely again, and it smelled like she was by the beach. Now if only she could regain control of this hamster ball!
Lux is an obstacle, bump into her if you want. ^_^

Given the choice between waiting out the rest of the class and becoming an obstacle like Professor Flamsteed, it was obvious which one Lux would pick.
So here she was roooooolling and spinnnnnning around, trying to make things even harder for the other students who were still working on finishing the course. Super fun, it was also a little dizzying, but she didn't care all that much.

Aaaaand the pendulum was coming. The only warning she gave him was her wide eyed stare before she tried hobbling and shoving her bubble out of the way. Not. AGAIN. This was SUMMER. It meant only nice things pendulum!

Kace was ready to run again. As he was being prepared to run, he heard the professor yell. So apparently Marigold got bird poop in her suit. Well that was gross. He smirked at the professor's reaction. He even laughed a Declan who claimed he broke his butt. He couldn't stop laughing, he eyes were tearing. He was prepared to dodge the pendulum. Then as he was running, he bumped into Lux and realized he bumped harder than he thought. His nose was bleeding!
"EERMMM PROFESSOR MY NOSE IS BLEEDING!!" Kace called out and was holding his nose to stop the flow. He could see the blood on his hands.

Beaming, Lux felt the impact of the bump as she was sent into the invisible wall again. Honestly, it never stopped being freaky when that happened, but she was a little more used to it now. As soon as she had stopped spinning, she curiously looked to see who had collided with her and saw that it was Kace.
His nose was bleeding? Awwww. Was that her fault?
Slightly concerned, she made her way over to him. "You are okay, right?" Nose bleeds were generally never SERIOUS, but Kace was her friend and she wanted to make sure that he was totally fine before moving on and bumping more people.

The hit from the pendulum was enough to send him spiraling from Spring to Summer in a matter of seconds. The heat took over and the rain stopped and Kyroh continued to tumble within the bubble. Hitting the Prefect had been a good thing through because at least it took away some of the momentum from the fast swinging contraption. As the bubble slowed down Kyroh found himself smack in the middle of Summer. Again.
The heat started to grow and bugs came out of no where, attacking wherever they could. "Urhdfg.." The boy mumbled incoherently as he attempted to stand up and look at the Prefect. His face turning a peculiar shade of green. "....don't feel too good...."
That was a lot of spinning.
A lot.
Noticing the girls large eyes Kyroh looked behind him and spotted the nearby pendulum. NOT AGAIN! NONONONO! Wobbling he pushed his bubble as close to the wall as possible before sliding down on his butt and clutching his stomach.
He really did not feel well. And the hot humid air was not making it any better.

Cris was trying to move on the stop, fighting to maintain Autumn status while avoiding the swinging pendulum as it swept past him. It was definitely no easy feat to do both....not to mention dodging out of the way of his fellow classmates while preventing himself from rolling out of control.
There were so many things to look out for that while dodging the pendulum for the umpteenth time, Cris glanced to his side and noticed the collision between another boy and Lux. He frowned when he saw the boy's nose bump against the side of the costume.
'Ouch that's going to hurt,' Cris thought to himself...and that's when he made the same mistake again. He had taken is eyes off the Pendulum!
When it swung right into him, all Cris could do was look in horror and then automatically duck...which really didn't do much, because the Pendulum swung and hit the top of his costume which sent him sprawling forward, careening out of control.
Trying to get back on his feet, Cris eyes opened wide in horror when he realized he was headed for Jasmine.

The Ravenclaw had had it up to here with all this crazy weather nonsense!She wanted to get this done, now, with as much quickness as possible, 'cause this was the polar opposite of fun. Heheh, polar opposite, and in class they'd talked about poles, heheh. Wait, this was no time to be laughing at her lame pun, she needed to get up, finish her orbit and then try to dry herself off, if that was even possible.
It was pretty slippery in her costume with all the water and the humidity, and the condensation and it took Justine a few minutes to stand up again, but once she did, she immediately took off at a lightning quick pace. Meanwhile, it continued to rain, and rain in her costume and now the rains were joined by an intense wind. UGH! Just when she started thinking it couldn't be any more difficult, it did.
Pushing back against the hurricane like winds, Justine somehow managed to avoid the pendulum and just managed to finish her orbit. "Thank Merlin!" The girl cried out as she entered back into the autumnal season, immediately the rains and heavy wind stopped and Justine, exhausted beyond words, walked to the barrier, held out her wand and said: "See you around the earth's orbit!" And POOF! She was freed from the suit.
Breathing a deep sigh or relief, Justine passed through the barrier and slumped against the wall in exhaustion.

Shaking her head, Lux watched as Kace gave her a thumbs up then zoomed off to complete his course. Of course that was something she would want to do in his place; though when facing a potentially broken nose, running off and risking getting hit by a pendulum wasn't necessarily the best idea.
Seeing that he managed to finish without getting hurt before returning to her was a relief. The less extra harm done to her friend, the better. And not only was he her friend, he was also one of her best friend's boyfriend. Lux knew that Emmy wouldn't want her boyfriend hurt, just like she wouldn't want Bay hurt. "Okay, good." Thankfully Kace was smart enough to want help, as opposed to some people who might play macho and decide that they were fine or could fix it themselves.

Declan managed to barely cross into autumn, so that half of his bubble was raining leaves and the other was soldering hot and smelled like ocean water.
The sleeve of his shirt was colored red from holding it against his nosebleed for the whole trek across summer. That's when he noticed Kace again and he too was bleeding from his nose. "Sensitive to the heat too, eh, Kace?" No, wait. He had bruises on his face. Bleeding, yes. From the sun, no.
Can he get out of this bubble, now??

Kate decided to try to control her rolling. She stretched herself out as much as possible, hoping that if she distributed her weight more, the hamster ball would slow down. Now she was tumbling in what felt more like cartwheels than somersaults. And she was finally starting to get dizzy and a little bit nauseous. But on the plus side, she was rolling more slowly now.
When she rolled to a stop, Kate took a deep breath. That was exhausting. Who knew Astronomy would require so much exertion? At least it still smelled nice, like the ocean and freshly cut grass.
Kate smiled and rolled herself a little bit farther until she was just past where she had started from. To stop herself, she then took a step backwards, smiled happily and sat down in her planet costume. She had successfully completed an orbit around the sun, and she hadn't even broken a sweat!

Penelope followed Jasmine over to the side. She would finally be able to escape the bubble thing, that only seemed to be getting hotter inside. Of all summery things, the bubble could be, it just had to be the unbearable heat. "All I have to do is take out my wand and say 'see you around the earth's orbit,' and then I can get out of the bubble, and get to the other side of the barrier?" That wouldn't be too hard, would it?

Someone was rolling toward them. The ball must have been hit by the pendulum or bumped really hard by another bubble. As the bubble got closer, Penelope could see that Cris was in the bubble. It looked like he could not control his bubble, and he was headed for Jasmine. "Jasmine, look out! Cris is out of control and coming our way!"
Angel decided that it seemed like she wouldn't be getting any presents, even though it was WINTER and you always got PRESENT in winter, so she decided to try and go again and this time she made it without getting hit she had been watching the Pendulum very closely and chose the best time to go.
Angel watched as the tree's starting to get green leaves on and the weather was starting to get a bit better and Angel was loving life. "Professor do we put our clocks forwards?" Angel suddenly thought about that. "I'm sure you do in spring." But wait had she actually put them back in Autumn she couldn't remember, all she knew was this year was going really fast.

Raising an eyebrow at the Gryffindor, the professor was doing to assume that was a rhetorical question....or the first year's stab at dry humor. "I hope you are not implying that I put on a red suit and grow a long white beard," he retorted.

Beaming, Lux felt the impact of the bump as she was sent into the invisible wall again. Honestly, it never stopped being freaky when that happened, but she was a little more used to it now. As soon as she had stopped spinning, she curiously looked to see who had collided with her and saw that it was Kace.
His nose was bleeding? Awwww. Was that her fault?
Slightly concerned, she made her way over to him. "You are okay, right?" Nose bleeds were generally never SERIOUS, but Kace was her friend and she wanted to make sure that he was totally fine before moving on and bumping more people.

"I am so sorry, Kace. I can take you to the Healer unless Professor Flamsteed can fix it." Honestly, she was not sure if the Professor had any knowledge of healing spells, but she was more than willing to help get Kace seen to by the Healer if need be.

Seeing that he managed to finish without getting hurt before returning to her was a relief. The less extra harm done to her friend, the better. And not only was he her friend, he was also one of her best friend's boyfriend. Lux knew that Emmy wouldn't want her boyfriend hurt, just like she wouldn't want Bay hurt. "Okay, good." Thankfully Kace was smart enough to want help, as opposed to some people who might play macho and decide that they were fine or could fix it themselves.
Oh sweet solstice...Cece was going to strangle the man as the injury count went up. He really should make it a rule that there would be no injuries in Astronomy. No dying was already a rule and so far students had been good about following that one.
And...WHAT was the Hufflepuff doing?! Bloody nose and....RUNNING AROUND MORE! Good Merlin no wonder Hufflepuff's had the tendency to be the ones to die at this school.
"MR. LECIUM! CEASE THAT RUNNING ABOUT THIS INTANT! YOU'LL MAKE THAT NOSE BLEED OF YOURS WORSE!"
He stopped running to give his head a few knocks before rolling over to the two Hufflepuffs. "Alright, let's get you out of the arena and take a look at that honker of yours, shall we?" he said, giving the boy's bubble a nudge with his own towards the wall. "Wand out, simply say 'See you around the earth's orbit' and you'll be out." He paused to look at Miss Carrington. "You are welcome to exit the game as well, Miss Carrington, if you want. We are just about out of time."
Glancing back at Mr. Lecium's nose, the astronomer couldn't see any outward or inward deformity - although he honestly couldn't tell you what the boy's nose looked like prior to this, er, mess.
