Celandine bounded into the classroom and stopped sort to read the sign. Well... it was obvious which colour she'd choose! She sat at a desk with a pink bag on it and waited impatiently for class to start.

Chris Potter walked into the dark Arithmancy classroom and took a swift look around. 'Was it always this dark in the room?' and then he saw the note. "oh" he walked over to a desk with an orange bag and waited to begin class.

"Why is it so dark, Professor Shack--" It was then, as Willow looked around from the entrance of the classroom that she realized that Professor Shackleton was not there. How strange - Professor Shackleton always waited for them, sitting on her desk.

Still puzzling over this, Willow noticed that there was a message at the door that had clearly been written by the Arithmancy professor.

Watching were she was going so not to end up falling down and making the fool of herself, Willow proceed to make her way carefully to one of the desks around the middle of the classroom, and took seat it one with a turqouise drawstring on top of it.

Taking seat and waited for Shackleton to arrive, Willow eyed the drawstring before her with a little frown on her face.

Oh. It seemed she had gotten here early! Yes, she had. Most certainly. Unless there was some kind of eclipse or something outside. Eh. Oh, but that made no sense! Evangeline was sure she was right on time! A bit confused, the Prefect walked into the classroom and blinked a bit, while her eyes adjusted to the darkness of the room. When that finally happened, she was able to read the message on the board. Ooooh.

What the heck was going to happen?

Eh. It didnt matter. She made her way to her usual desk, bumping into other desks as she did so -- oh, and was that foot? Oops - and sat down, her eyes observing the orange bag on her desk. Eeeeh.

Approaching the door to Arithmancy class, Anna blinked a few times to try and adjust herself to the darkness inside. She glanced around the room for any sight of the professor, but she never actually saw her. Shrugging, she turned her eyes towards the message on the door. As soon as the message was read, Anna took a nearby seat in a desk containing a turquoise bag. She wondered what was inside, but she didn't dare look and see. The message on the door had clearly stated to not tamper with any of the bags. So instead of taking a peek, she sat quietly and waited for...whatever...to happen.

Copernicus entered the classroom and took a seat at a desk with a turquoise bag on it. Erm... what was this for? Would they end up in groups based on bag color, because fond as he was of blue... pink wasn't a bad way to go either.

Lettie walked in the room, completely shocked at herself for even showing up. She was awf- no, terrible at arithmancy and everything that had to do with it. With a tiny sigh, the student headed towards an empty seat that had a purple bag on it.
'Hmm...' The girl wanted to open it...but thought better not to. Although looking next to her, she noticed the Gryffindor prefect who had helped her out earlier with...issues.

Giving a small wave to the boy next to her, Lettie took out a notepad and quill, and waited for the lesson to start.

Dominic was quite stunned upon entering the Arithmancy classroom to find it dimly lit and only a note on the door telling them to watch their step. Well for Merlin's sake - if it wasn't dark, then they wouldn't need to so, would they?

Shaking his head, puzzled by the poor lighting, the sixth year nonetheless made his way through the darkness and squinted through the room for a free desk near the front. Though he instantly regretted the desk he sat down on the moment he saw it was indeed a purple drawstring bag. EWW! Of all colors, why couldn't he have gotten BLUE? Or Orange? Anything but this wretched GIRLY color. Was it too late to switch seats or was he like bound to this color? This seat? Hmm . . .

Lucy made her way into the classroom and looked around the room at the different bags. 'odd...but ok.' She said making her way over to the purple bag. She noticed Lettie and smiled. "Oh hey Lettie. Nice to see you." She noticed another guy and smiled at him. "Oh hello. I'm Lucy." She said introducing herself.

Jack made his way to a desk with an orange bag on it.

Why is it dark? Rachel stepped into the Airthmancy classroom with a frown as she took in the drawn windows and the general feel of the gloomy classroom. For a second, she wondered if Hogwarts classrooms had the ability to be emotional before rational thinking kicked in and she realised that Professor Shackleton had most probably set this up. Duh..

And yes, she had been right. Rachel quickly read through the sign that the Professor had put up and nodded as she began to make her way towards a table in the front of the classroom. Sitting down, the fifth year had to lift up the bag in order to see whether it was blue or purple - it was hard to tell in the lack of light - and shrugged as she saw that it was in fact turquoise.

Dark rooms remind Daniel of the past he wanted to forget. He sat at the nearest table regardless of what was in it. When he looked at the table, he saw a turquoise bag.

This was weird. Why were the lights out and where was Professor Shackleton? Huh? HUH? He would've thought he'd got the wrong day 'cept there were others in here already, so with a shrug of his shoulders Clifford made his way into the classroom and found himself the seat beside Evangeline.

"Ewww!" Looking down, the seventh year spotted the PINK bag on his desk. Gross.

Nancy cheerfully walked up to the Arithmancy classroom door, already looking forward to her next lesson. But what the heck was that?! The 15 year old had stopped dead in her tracks right in the middle of actually stepping into the classroom upon being confronted with complete darkness. Uhm...okaay... What exactly was going on there? She was in the right room right?

Blink Blink

After a few moments of just staring into darkness Nancy took a few steps backwards until she was standing right in front of the door again and now she saw something pinned to it. A note. Still where was Professor Shackleton?!

Now that she had scanned through the note the 15 year old took another step forward back into the classroom with an utterly confused look plastered across her face. Pink bag? Purple bag? Turquoise bag? Orange bag? What was going on?! Nancy glanced around the classroom before slowly walking down the aisle until she had reached a desk with a purple bag.

Now, what now?!

Very suddenly, a dozen lit candles flew into the air in a circle behind Professor Shackleton's desk, creating what appeared to be a spotlight. With a cheesy grin upon her face, Professor Shackleton stood from her hidden seated position behind the desk inside the circle of candles. With her goofiest and loudest game-show voice, Professor Shackleton announced, "Good afternoon and welcome! Welcome to today's Arithmancy lesson! You've just entered my little game and I hope you'll enjoy it. You're now divided into four teams by the color of the bag at your desk. I will call the color of two teams to face-off to see which team will gain control of a particular question. That question will be one that was also asked of one hundred Arithmancers. You need to answer how you think they answered, because the team with the more popular answer gains control.

"The team with control then gets the opportunity to guess all the answers given by the Arithmancers in their survey. Three incorrect guesses, called strikes, and the other team gets the chance to steal all the points away. Strikes are also given if the team in control takes too long to answer. The team with the most points at the end of the lesson wins the grand prize... Are there any questions before we begin?"

Also, anyone coming in after this time, do not say you are late. Just pretend you've been there the whole time; however, be sure to mention which color bag you have so I know what team you're playing for. At the moment, we have 5 turquoise, 4 purple, 3 orange, and 2 pink. We really need pink and orange first to balance out the teams, so please keep that in mind.

Chris looked up excitedly as Professor Shackleton appeared in a ring of candles and announced they would be playing a game! YAY! He thought. He waited for it to begin!

Nancy's fingers itched to reach out to see what exactly was in the purple bag on her table and she had ot bite her lip hard to repress that urge. Maybe it was something dangerous or so. She was a 100% sure that they were not allowed to open it, though, until Professor Shackleton had appeared. Where was she any-

Eep!

What the heck?! Nancy jumped slightly as all of a sudden about a dozen lit candles flew up into the air forming a sort of spotlight directed at the professor who had apparently been there all the time. A game?! So, everybody with the same colored bag was in a team now? How exciting!!

'Oh no.' Lettie shrunk down in her seat, almost like she was trying to hide herself. She was no good at games...or losing...nor was she good at arithmancy.

She moved her backpack in front of herself and proped up her notepad so that she could write better.
Sighing, Leticia stared at the bag in front of her, waiting for the humiliation to begin.

OOOH! A game! Games were MEGA fun! Hehe. It did sound a bit confusing though, and Clifford's head tilted to one side as he tried to soak in what it was Miss Shakleton was saying. It was hard concentrating on what it was she was saying when she was looking so darn pretty though. Cough.

One glance at the desk beside him told him Evangeline wasn't on his team. BOOHOO. So.. who was? Someone smart he hoped.. he wanted that GRAND PRIZE!

So.. who was as unfortunate as him to have got an icky PINK bag?

Celandine?

WOOOOOOT!

Now that there is light in the room, Abby looks around for the other students who have turquoise bags. She sees Copernicus and Anna have turquoise bags. Those are two good team mates to have although the team would be even stronger if we had Celedine too. Too bad she loves everythingpink

Dominic was too busy trying to work out how to get out using a PURPLE bag that he didn't even notice others sitting down and glancing around for who else had their color. Truth be told, it wasn't until he heard the goofy, giggling voice of Professor Shackleton - which the sixth year had to glance up into the newly candlelit room to figure out that it wasn't Lupa by mistake - that he snapped back to reality. He was stuck with PURPLE. Ugh.

Oh... they were playing a game! Well maybe he'd at least have someone smart on his team; not that he wasn't smart, but one thing he learned from Quidditch was that it took more than individual to bring home a win. Glancing around hopefully at the other members of the purple team, Dominic frowned upon seeing Willow with a turquoise bag. No fair. Couldn't they switch!? Or better yet, trade off one of the members of his team . . . And she can join purple. Yes, that sounded swell.

Ah right, back to the searching. And then the finding.

Three girls. Slytherin girls, judging from the house crest on their robes. Just his luck. First he gets put in the PURPLE group and then all his team members turn out to be Slytherins and females. Females who he did not know, and were undoubtedly younger.

And one girl who was hiding behind her backpack, apparently disapproving of the idea of a game.

Elizabeth jumped slightly, dropping the orange bag that had been on the desk she had sat at, as the darkness was split by the appearance of several lit candles revealing an oddly cheery Professor Shackleton. An oddly cheery Professor Shackleton that was acting like a Muggle game show host. One of the ones who had always slightly irritated her when her family had watched those shows at home.

At least class looked interesting, she thought, hiding a smile as she noticed the look on Dom's face as he saw his teammates. Now who was on her team? Hmmm . . . looked like prefects. At least she knew Evangeline and Jack.

With the sudden appearance of all those candles, Anna grew still as a board, and she watched with fascination as the professor sort of rose from the darkness. Now that...was freaking cool! She turned around to face the front of the room and then listened carefully as instructions were given. She glanced down at her bag, hoping she'd ended up with a really good team. Merlin knew she didn't want to face off against Celandine Toussaint or Copernicus Kettleburn. Those people were just made of brilliance. Looking around, she noticed that Cela had a pink bag, while Cope...oh, yeah! Cope was with the turquoise team! At least she knew she didn't have to face off against him. Cela, though...man, oh, man. She was doomed if that pairing were to happen.

'Chris!' Lettie mouthed after she pushed her backpack to the side a little bit. 'Chris!' She tapped her desk a couple times to get his attention.

'What if I make a fool of myself?' Not that Leticia was entirely terrified, oh wait, that was true. She scribbled a couple notes on her notepad and took a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves.
Maybe it wouldn't be so bad...but what if it was? Not being a competitive person only made it frightening. Why did everyone else like the idea? Maybe Lettie was just a chicken....

She turned to look at Lucy, who also had a purple bag on her desk, and an older boy who had the same color bag as well.
