Ancient Runes Lesson I: Dramatic Arts of the Runic Era
The Ancient Runes classroom was transformed. There were no chairs or tables or the usual nametags for students, but a couple of big boxes with unfamiliar and unusual clothes inside them were laid down by the professor's big desk. The walls of the classroom were the unusual color of bright white. The blackboard was still there, though, with the date of today and a title of 'Dramatic Arts of the Runic Era'.
Professor Botros was standing near the entrance of the classroom as his habit, waiting to greet students who walked in.

Abby walked into the Ancient Runes classroom and said "Good Morning Professor Botros, have a good holiday sir?" Abby was just being friendly and she was looking forward to seeing what they would be learning today

He was here with his wand... and NOTHING else. Literally, nothing else. Just himself. He didn't even bother to bring a bag with him to this class, because apparently he didn't need anything but a wand. EXCITING!
Or perhaps not?
He had mixed feelings about Runes. There were fun times, but there was also lots of boring and complicated chanting which he was certain he would never understand.
"Hellooooooo Professor!" Zeke beamed as he arrived, giving the Deputy a salut to boot. "I didn't bring anything but my wand, I hope that's okay, if we're note taking though, I'm sure I can borrow some things from others." Mmhhmm... he'd find a way. Lalalalala. But lookit this! The class was different looking.
The FIRST thing he noticed was the lack of name tags, NO SEATING PLAN?! YAY!
And the SECOND thing he noticed was... dramatic arts.... booooooo. He felt he got enough go the dramatics from HoM, he didn't need it seeping into EVERYTHING else. The dramatics just weren't for him.

The notice said not to bring a textbook, so Lux had a feeling that this would be a more hands on lesson than usual.
... Yep, her thoughts seemed to be confirmed once she stepped inside the almost completely bare classroom. No desks or anything. Huh. "Hello, Professor Botros." She smiled at her Head of House. "Hey, Abby and Zeke." Hopefully more people would arrive soon so they could begin.
Would they be acting? Lux had a feeling they would be given the name of the lesson and boxes of strange clothes!

It took a lot of will power for this kid to show up in Professor Botros’ class. He made a big booboo during his exam, and that he was going to regret it for life. Runes is one of his favourite subjects, so why in Hades’ lair did he fail to get a good grade? Acceptable...wasn’t acceptable to Ethan. Nope.
Dragging his feet all the way to the all too familiar classroom, the Slytherin stopped dead in his tracks when he saw the man by the door. “NoooooOoooooOOOooo...” Ethan squirmed on the spot as he kept his head bowed, and took...awkward steps towards the door. Wait, why was he there in the first place? Oh yeah...to learn...and IMPROVE.
Just a few more steps, Ethan literally inhaled some courage, as he snapped his head back in its normal position and greeted the aged Runes Master. “Professor Botros. Hi.” Awkwaaard! Ethan offered the old man a sheepish grin and allowed himself inside the classroom.
Okay, it was very different from the usual set-up, but he was more distracted with...himself being in Botros class. And because of that, he stood close to the door—just in case the old man decides that he cannot carry on Ancient Runes because of his poor performance in his exam. At least he was only a few steps away from the threshold to carry his cone of shame back to their dorm.

As Hady made her way into the Ancient Runes classroom she wasn't sure how she felt. This lesson wasn't one of her strongest though she normally found that it was quite interesting. Prepared to give the lesson her all as always she glanced around the room. Well alright there no desks or chairs today..
"Hello Professor Botros," she greeted softly giving the man a small smile. Giving a slight nod of her head towards everyone else in greeting she moved to stand off to the side simply choosing to wait for the lesson to begin rather then speak to anyone else.

He was still standing and looking and even admiring when Lux arrived. "Heya," he greeted in reply.
Of course, he'd have to psyche himself up for this whole drama thing, drama llama drama.

Seeing Hady arrive, Zeke raised a hand to wave her over, but realised she was going off to.. be by herself. If he thought she wanted company he'd have followed, but as it was she seemed to want to be alone.
...
In the end, Zeke decided to plop himself on the floor and lay out like a starfish. May as well lounge about until everyone else got here.

Ancient Runes. One of the subjects the seventh year struggled with the most. BUT with Mister Kitridge's helpful book and past exam papers, Zhenya really really hoped she would be able to pass her NEWT for the topic. She just had to know she was able to. But that was the hard bit. She walked into the classroom and looked around. No chairs or tables. But that didn't matter, Professor Botros was there. "Hello Professor Botros," she said, cheerfully. After all, if all else failed, she had the Ancient Runes Professor to seek assistance from if she needed it. She took note of what was on the blackboard and the boxes and felt excitement bubble up. What would they be doing? She looked around and saw some awesome people had already arrived, so she waved to Abby, Lux and Zeke, and her fellow Slytherins.

Zander hadn't passed this one... So was he even allowed to show up? Um. He wasn't actually all that sure, but at the very last moment he decided to get up on his feet and run to class. He'd just sit around some first years since clearly he was at that level. Ahem. At least he tried right? It wasn't his fault that Runes was some foreign language. Clearly it just wasn't meant to be. But he'd try his very best.
He walked into class quietly giving Professor Botros a small, embarrassed smile before shuffling over to a-- Where were the chairs?... Uh. The unfamiliarity did another number to his already mixed feelings about being here in the first place. The Gryffindor spotted Ethan standing near the door though and that seemed like a good spot to stand by. 'Cause if he wasn't allowed in class, he could just slip out and hopefully it wouldn't be a big deal. Ahem. "Hi, Ethan," and now they wait... Right?

NO books. How cool was that? Leah walked to the Ancient Runes Classroom with her wand and her wand only. She considered bringing her bag just in case, but if she needed any extra supplies, well, she could blame the Professor. Hehe.
"Good morning Professor Botros," she smiled. She was really looking forward to this lesson. She needed to pass her Runes O.W.L. because one, she wanted to prove that she could overcome challenges and two, she did not want to disappoint her Head of House. Turning her attention away from her exams, Leah looked around the somewhat transformed Classroom.
Um. No chairs or tables. Of course, no nametags. Big boxes of - costumes? Stunningly white walls. Aaand Dramatic Arts. This was SO EXCITING.

He looked calm and collected from the outside, but deep down, his insides began to churn uncomfortably. More students came, and Ethan could only hope that there will be someone...anyone, who will stand by him and distract him from his current situation. As much as he wanted to talk to the professor, just a few steps away from him, he simply can’t face him. Too much embarrassment, okay?
It didn’t take long for a familiar face to walk in and situate himself nearby. Ethan silently thanked the Nordic gods above for its great timing. The Slytherin turned his head towards the guy beside him and gave him a nonchalant grin. “Prefect Adair.” He said offering his fist for a fist bump. The seventeen year old can’t help but think how Zander faired during his Runes exam. Was it okay to ask out of the blue? Well, maybe he will if the professor wasn’t within earshot. He’d play it safe.
“I wonder if Professor Glendower will make an appearance here today...” Him and Zander had been to Glendower’s classes in the past, so he was sure that Zander knew what he was talking about. “Quite bizarre, isn’t it? The class didn’t require us to have our books this time...” So...will they simply have an activity for the day, or...?

Ancient Runes! YE- no. Still the most difficult class for Adi EVER.But still, he was looking forward to the lesson... whatever would be the topic today. As usaul, there was Botros awaiting his students by the door. "Helllllooooo, Professor! I hope you are well today.'' And was yeaterday and would be tomorrow as well. Hehe.
Adi was about to make a beeline for the desk with his name tag but only... there was none O__O Where was everything?! His eyes found the board. Dramatic Arts? Ohhh! Did that mean that they had to be acting like they did ever so often in History of Magic? That would be cool! Adi liked wearing costumes. What FUUUN!
Seeing quite a few of his friends including Zhenya, Ethan, Abby, Hady and Zeke, Adi waved to them before moving to stand next to Lux. "Hey! Looks like we'll need to be creative with acting today.'' Were those the costumes in the boxes?

Ancient runes time... Right.
The Korean boy walked down to the fifth floor--where the classroom located. He wondered what would they learn today since they didn't need to bring any books. Just his wand. So, there would be no boring theories about rune today. Good!
Entering the classroom. Jackson noticed that it was quiet different in here. No desks. Just a blackboard and the Professor was standing near the door. "Good day, Professor." He smiled at him. Then he noticed that there's a big box contained of... COSTUMES! Were they gonna have stage performance, today? Gosh, this would be interesting! He was from performing arts school so he really knew the drill here. Hehehe. Spotting a girl in hufflepuff robe, he decided to stand next to here. "Hey there." Jackson greeted her and smiled. "I bet that we're gonna have an acting class here." He BEAMED enthusiastically. Of course he's gonna be excited for this.

Another Ancient Runes lesson. Benny had debated whether or not to continue onto the higher level course since it wasn't a requirement, but in the end found himself attending and today was no different. "Good day Professor," he greeted Botros, the man in his usual beginning spot. However upon entering, he noticed it was about the only usual thing in the classroom. The walls were a stark white and there was no real furniture, at least for the students.
"Hey," he greeted Adi as he approached his best friend, not having any other set place to go like other runes classes. "Did you say acting?" Ben had mixed feeling about that given past experiences. Not to mention he wasn't the most open and outgoing.

"Hey Jackson," she smiled back and leaned forward to ruffle his hair because she FELT like it. Hehe. "Duhhh, it says right there." she pointed at the blackboard, her smile widening as her excitement grew.
"Are you looking forward to it? Acting?" she said. He must be, being from a school of performing arts. She was looking forward to watching Jackson act. That is, if acting was going to happen.

RUNES. It was time for Runes and Gabriel was there...with a bag full of fresh parchment, quills, and ink. It was clearly NOTE TAKING TIME, you see.
Pausing at the door, the Ravenclaw smiled at Professor Botros (which was something he rarely did....The smiling thing, in general). "Good morning, Professor."
It was a good morning, wasn't it? Yes...he'd slept well and felt prepared for the day and lesson. T'was a comforting, pleasant feeling. Unfortunately, that 'feeling' didn't last. Perhaps it wasn't note-taking time. With no tables or chairs...Gabe paused in the middle of the room like the awkward turtle he was and glanced around, taking into account the title on the board.
'Dramatic Arts of the Runic Era'
.......Was this going to turn into...an improv class?
Also, hello Zeke. Gabe joined him...but didn't lay down on the floor.

Dramatic Arts of the Runic Era. Oooooh, sounded fancy!
Having eaten a good and healthy breakfast, the cheerful fourth year had skipped her way to the Ancient Runes classroom. Upon arriving at the entrance, she noticed the unusual set up of the room as well as the title of on the board.
"Hello professor," When Natalia decided to greet the professor, that was when one knew she was in a good mood. "are we acting Shakespeare today?" Not knowing where the idea came from, Natalia suggested the possibility anyway. Besides, she didn't know any other classical playwrights besides the awe-so-prominent Shakespeare.
Continuing into the classroom, the Lioness recognized a lot of her other classmates (Lux, Adi, and Jackson... and were those Leah and Zander?). Natalia merely waved at them from a distance and settled herself in the back of the classroom. Opening a colorful book in her lap, she began to emerge herself in the comics that had been wanting to read and waited for class to start.
It was always reassuring to arrive at Ancient Runes and find Professor Botros by the door. Sometimes he didn't stand there, and the vibe ended up being off and everything felt wrong and gave Toby a weird feeling of anxiety. BUT NOT TODAY. Today was all good, vibes were fine, everything was a-okay.
Except... everything else was different. Like, in the classroom. That was weird, even for Hogwarts standards, because Ancient Runes was pretty much generally always the same set-up. Um... except that one time it was... under the sea. BUT THAT WAS DIFFERENT.
Still, the general vibe was good, so Toby wasn't worried. He greeted the professor with a simple "Hi, Professor," and a usual Toby-smile as he entered into the very different room, and then automatically moved to stand by fellow seventh year and FRIEND, Gabriel Banner, who in turn was nearby a starfishing Zeke.
Toby looked at the board too. OOOOH, were they gonna be ACTING? Like in History of Magic? Toby had a track record if inconsistent mood in Glendower's class, so his performances were often lackluster, but if they were being dramatic in here today, he was glad he'd turned up to Professor Botros' lesson in a good mood.

Henric briskly head to the Ancient Ruins class and saw that Professor Botros was already there near the entrance, greeting the students like he always do. His Head of House was cool like that..yup...he could honestly say he had so much respect for the old professor, he dared not to dissapoint him even if he did lose housepoints before.
"Hello again, Professor Botros..you are looking...uhh...mighty healthier as before, can't wait for your lesson to start,Sir.."Henric smiled. His greeting was a little too much, wasn't it? Anyways, time to go in...
Oh, no chairs and tables? Where were they sitting then? On the floor? Henric glanced over the chalkboard...
"Dramatic Arts of the Runic Era,"he read. Merlin...were they going to act out a scene? In class? In front of all these students?! It was like Romeo and Juliet again...he remembered playing the part of Romeo at his mother's bookclub meetings which he was forced to go to by the way...She made him read aloud those embarrassing lines, yet famous quotes of Shakespearean books and fitted for costume as punishment for talking back at her. Urghh...he rather not be reminded of the torture in wearing those tight, unstretchable, things for the rest of his life, thank you.
He looked into the boxes to find costumes inside them. Oh dear, his worst nightmare was coming back to him. Please don't have be tights..please don't have be tights......Fuu, no tights. He was safe for now.He then stood patiently by the corner and waited for the lesson to start.

Marigold was in a mood. Not a bad mood, mind you, but just a strange one. She was all calm, even though it was RUNES and she had been taking Runes for six and a bit years by now and she STILL had no idea what was going on.
Oops.
"Hello, professor." Dazzling smile, just in case he was picking volunteers. NOT her, please.
Dante was expecting a normal class or as normal as it could be in this crazy castle. But he was still surprised by the big boxes. You know Dante thought he could fit in one of them.
"Hello Professor"
Huh Dramatic Arts. Well Dante knew for a fact he had on flair for the dramatics. So lets see how this goes.

Xavier had found the class easily, which was surprising in this crazy school full of moving staircases and hidden passageways. Glad that he was early, he stepped into the class with a smile and a "hello," to the professor, reminding himself silently to speak English.
There were no desks nor chairs, and the blackboard told him this lesson was going to be about dramatic art. He resisted a groan. Acting was not his thing. Speech-giving, debate, those kinds of things were his thing. Acting was ridiculous. Why pretend to be another person when he was completely happy being himself? Besides, he was awful at it.
His eyes scanned the room for a familiar face. There wasn't one, because he didn't know a single soul at this school. He took a deep breath. It was time to make a friend. Or at least talk to one person so he wouldn't be bored in this class for the rest of the year.

Runes time! Kyroh was always excited for the class, because 1. Botros was a pretty cool man, and 2. Dora had SAID that learning Runes was IMPORTANT.
And he always listened to what Dora said.
Stepping into he classroom, Kyroh BLINKED and quickly began rubbing his eyes. Boxes and clothes and merlin the walls- the WALLS. "I think I may have gone blind."

Janelle stepped into the Ancient Runes classroom and stopped short. "Hello Professor", she said as she looked about the room curiously. Catiching sight of the blackboard, Janelle raised an eyebrow. Runes and Dramatic Arts weren't two things that you usually thought about as going together. When she saw the boxes of.......costumes?.........she thought that maybe this was a Runes/History of Magic combination class. Since there was no sign of Professor Glendower, she assumed that that was not the case.
Janelle found an empty spot and stood to the side of the room. She noticed that several of her friends had already arrived. She gave waves to Hady, Zhenya and Adi. Then she leaned against the wall and waited.

Hugo was giving each class a chance to like it. So...let see how it goes with Runes.
Stepping into the room, he noticed the boxes and the clothes. Were they going to dress up? And before he could greet Botros, he noticed Marigold. His heart stopped a bit. Alright, he was fiiiiine. Cough. He already was liking this class. "Hello professor! What's up?" he even thought twice before greeting Botros with a 'What's up' but, oh well.
Moving on....
The third year walked towards Marigold. He was slightly nervous but wasn't going to miss this chance. Nope. "Hey..." he smiled shyly "So...dramatic arts it is" he had no idea what else to say. His brain had gone on vacation.
