Jade raised an eyebrow racking her brain trying to work out where she knew this girl from. There was only one place she'd know her from... Okay, two places. Beauxbatons and Chelsea. But Jade had only been back in Chelsea since she was seventeen and she'd moved there when she was at least... Four was it? She couldn't remember but it was a long time ago. Long enough ago for her to forget how old she actually was. But she had a good memory when it came to faces and she didn't recognise Kyle from anywhere around Chelsea. If she had, it'd be clearer. Maybe? Who knew?

But this gave it away. She smiled when the girl spoke the language she wasn't as good at as she'd hoped. But she understood what Kyle was saying so she must have understood it more than she originally thought. "Le français est ma langue seconde" she responded. She was proud of herself. Though she wasn't entirely sure why she was proud of herself. She'd only spoken a different language. Familiar? So Jade wasn't the only one who looked familiar in this conversation. Did that even make sense? "Beauxbatons?" she asked curiously. Not that it could be considered a question. But she had asked questioningly.

She was nervous too? Well duh! Would she have said what she just said if she wasn't? But it seemed the nerves were running wild in the room at the moment and who would blame them. Assuming everyone in the room were new employees. Jade wouldn't know, this was her first day and up to now, she only knew two people. "First day nerves are the worst. I think we'll be a lot better once we've gotten used to the surroundings and stuff. But it helps no-one's alone" she responded. Now she sounded as though she was giving some sort of opening speech or something.



Jade turned her head to face Rowan as he began to speak. Was it just her or did his nerves seem off the scale? Maybe it was just because he was around a lot of people and probably didn't know very many of them. "As I said, we'll get over the nerves once we get a little used to the surroundings and meet more people" she responded STILL sounding as though she was giving a speech. But she didn't mean to sound the way she did. It was just the way it came out of her mouth. And she didn't have much control over that.

Already, there was someone to greet her by the door. "Hey Preston. It's very nice to meet you." She smiled sweetly at him. "I'm Melanie." She was about to say that she had been an employee for the ministry for a while now when the man offered her a plate of cupcakes. "Oh, thank you. I would love one." and picked up a vanilla one with her slender fingers. "They are absolutely delicious." She looked around the break room and surveyed all the new employees. It was going to be a very interesting year at the ministry. Then she looked back at the boy. "So Preston." and took another small bite from the cupcake. "What department have you been assigned to? I'm just working as a magical carpenter."



Just then, another employee was there to greet her once again. This time, it was a girl. She seemed to be almost..rushing to her to greet her. Melanie was taken aback when the first thing she said was to compliment her on the dress she was wearing. "Oh thank you! I made it myself." and felt herself blush with embarrassment. "I love what you are wearing too!" she said looking at her outfit. "It's nice to meet you Victoria. I'm Melanie Caparelli." And returned the smile at her. "Are you new here?"

"Oh, hello Melanie!" Preston smiled. So far he had met a couple of people, and already he was starting to get fuzzy on keeping all the names straight. Surely he'd figure out some system to keep the names all in order. Or maybe he'd just make a fool out of himself every time he tried to call someone by their name... "Actually, I've been assigned to work as a magical carpenter, also." He said nodding his head. "How long have you been here?" He questioned, maybe she could give him some tips on working at the Ministry.

The girl seemed a little taken back at first when Victoria came up to her, but to let it go. That was so cool the dress she made on her own. "Its really cool. Your really good at making clothes then," she said with a little laugh. Looking down at her pink shirt and white skirt she smiled and said, "Thanks." This was almost her daily outfits. She liked dressing in skirts and such a lot. "Its nice to meet you as well Melanie," she said. "Yes I am. Are you new as well," she asked with a nod.



Smiling Victoria said, "What does a magical carpenters do?" For just getting into the ministry she really didn't have any idea what some of these jobs were. She left almost left out, but she would learn, it couldn't be that hard. They're so many positions in the ministry that it could take some time, but Victoria doesn't mind. "I'm a human resource officer," she told him. It began to get her wondering who either was a human resource officer, she hasn't meet one. She was pretty sure there were at least a few more, or was she wrong?

Vicky turned when a young lady spoke to her and offered her a gracious smile."Hello there, Kyleigh. I'm Victoria Daniels. Oh?" she replied as she reached for one and took a bite,"They are good. So is suspect it is your first day here. I haven't seen you before."

She scanned the room as she took another bite.

"Good morning Mr. Kim. It seems so." she said as she accepted the drink."I know who you are. I just never had the chance to let you know that." she remarked with a wink.

"You call me Ms. Daniels or Victoria, outside of work. No need to be formal in an informal setting. Besides, I really like my first name." she said with a smirk.

She had noticed that the media liaison had returned a nod. She must a have word with her. She seems much like Victoria herself. Driven, focused and intelligent.

Of course, Alexander gave her a small nod as she told him to call her by her first name. "Layla, it is" it was fun to finally have talked to her. Alexander have seen her countless of times around the office. However, due to busy work and whatnot they just end up giving each other eye contact and a smile or two perhaps.

Media Liason.

Now that job is quite hard, isn't it. Alexander stood next to her as he eyed all the new and old employees trying to get to know each other as well. "How's work?" that's probably not the smartest question this man could ever come up with but this question is a bit better. Nothing too personal at least.

Another person that wants him to call by his first names. Alexander is a bit formal on these stuffs because some people did like to be called formally but seeing as how they're seriously okay with being called by their first name made Alexander smile. Konrad Alexander Scherfig. Of course, he knows who he is but Alexander hasn't been officially acquainted with him. This would be the first, actually. "Konrad" he repeated, nodding at him.

The young man seems to like it if there were music and lights but nah, not really. This is after all just a small gathering for them to know each other. After awhile they'll all head back to work anyway, right? But it was nice to hear suggestions especially from the young ones. This part of the ministry could use some of the hip from the youngsters... or something like that. However, Alexander didn't bother to answer him with that. It was time to just have fun and drink some butterbeer.

Alexander took a sip from his glass when the young man drank as well. Then for awhile he introduced himself. David Madine. Alexander will take note of that. "If you have any problems, come find me" yes, Alexander was ready to help any new ones on the job, when he is not busy at all. Hopefully, he won't be that busy this year.

When he was asked what it is like to work for Minister Greingoth, Alexander smiled. Well, where exactly to start? He's far better than the previous minister and is very caring to the people in the wizarding world. He does take suggestions at all times too. "He's a very nice man" that's probably the most suitable answer Alexander could give to the young lad. "Do you mind me asking?" he said looking at David "What major did you finish in college?' he asked him with a hint of fascination into his tone, "Please, forgive me. It's just that, I'm really fond of knowing these things" not that he's a stalker or something, he does find college majors very interesting. He somehow missed going back to school.

Alexander laughed when Victoria told him that she already knew who he was. Really? Well, they have met around work from time to time but like the rest, work is a bit busy and so they couldn't acquaint as much. "well Victoria" he said as given permission to call her so "call me Alexander too" instead of Mr. Kim. However, she could address him with Mr. Kim when the Minister is around, since they both have the same first name. Just so it won't confuse the 2 of them.

Oh and of course, if she doesn't mind him asking about it "Will the Minister join us for the party?" Alexander asked. He didn't really know.Maybe he will? Maybe he won't?

"Well." Preston began with a smile. "We help with any remodeling that needs to be done within the Ministry and help fix things that might break." Preston explained, it was a pretty straight forward job, or at least he thought. He was excited about it, well, excited for any job at the Ministry in general.

"Human resources!" Preston smiled, that sounds fun! he thought. "Isn't that like working with the employees of the Ministry?" He asked.

Victoria reaches the door to the break room breathing hard for she's been running all the way here. But still she was late....she knew it hearing the voices from inside the room.

She so wanted the come here first to welcome the new employees as that was the aim of the party. However, it didn't work the way she wanted. Not a very good first impression...she thought to herself.

Taking a deep breath and smiling she opened the door to see some huge party. Her smile got widened looking at all the faces. She could recognize some of them but others she couldn't.Those must be the new employees they are supposed to welcome.

Anyway, She stepped closer looking at the faces and smiling until she got closer to about everyone. After clearing her throat she started with quite a loud voice to be heard, "Ahem.....Hello everyone! I'm Victoria Smith I'm a secretary at the lobby. I'm So sorry for being late" she apologized. "I'm glad I could make it here, And to all the new employees Welcome to Level one, hope you enjoy working with us." she said "And also to my co-workers HI!" She waved the crowd inspecting the faces to memorize the new employees and to search for her friends and colleagues.

Oh yay! That's great, Melanie thought. Now she had a fellow employee to work with. At least, she wasn't alone anymore in the department. "Really? That's awesome to hear, Preston. Now we can work together to build the new food court that might be underway soon." and smiled excitedly at him. At his next question, Melanie had to think about it for a few seconds. "I believe I've been working here for approximately a year." and nodded her head. "I guess you can say that I'm still new to this new environment."





Melanie turned back to the other new employee with a smile. "Well, I am new in a way. I had been working here just over a year so there is still much to learn for myself." She nodded to her. "And what does a human resource officer do?" she asked overhearing Victoria's conversation with Preston



While Victoria and Preston animatedly chatted about their jobs, Melanie listened quietly to them. Already she was learning a lot about her two employee co-workers personality and also their new life at the ministry. She wanted to add in something to what Preston said. "But the life of a Magical Carpenter hasn't been very needed these days at the ministry, until other people have finalized the details of the food court, then all the maintenance people will have a lot of stuff to do."

Victoria smiled, "That sounds like fun." She always liked remodeling things and such. She thought about doing some job like that, but never got into it as much as teaching liked she did.

Nodding and laughing a little she said to Preston, "Yes it is. We just responds to assignments given by the Minister, Undersecretaries, or Human Resources Director and also work with any employees other department heads" That was as best she could do to explain the job.

"Oh where did you work before," she asked. She wondered what other jobs there were around the ministry inside the departments. Smiling at Melanie she said, "We responds to assignments given by the Minister and other."




Victoria looked from Preston to Melanie. She heard about the food court but not to much. "When is that suppose to come in," she asked.

Ahh, a breakroom gathering? Alexander supposed he could show his face for that. He wasn't too buried in paperwork, and truth be told, he did have a small amount of compassion in him. The notice had said this was for the new employees, and he cared enough about the office and the Ministry in general to make a good first impression on these people.

He remembered his first big job. It was here, in this very office, come to think of it. He'd been the liaison for level four, beast division if he remembered. Merlin, how he ever got a job dealing with beasts, he never knew, but he'd done well with it. Of course he'd done well. Had anyone expected anything less? Opening the doors and stepping inside, he took a careful look around the room.

Stan was late in arriving to the party. She had been delayed by a former boss. Now though, she entered the room, wearing a white dress with a brown vest over it. Her brown curls hung over her head.

"Oh, I had always been in the maintenance department since I began to work here, but they had recently split the department into sections so we could focus on specific tasks." Melanie nodded her head. "And your job sounds very interesting to. Doing tasks for the Minister himself is quite the stress on you guys." She wouldn't think how she could handle "Lard Borr" since her disgusting encounter with him cleaning his toe nail clippings. It gave her shivers from those memories. Shaking the thought out of her head, she focused back on her two co-workers. "Would you like me to grab a drink for you? What would you like?" She peered at the table that was set up filled with a variety of foods and drinks.



Just then, another new employee seemed to have headed to the break room. Yay! more new faces to get to know. Melanie's heart was racing to go and hug the young man, but she held herself back knowing that it would scare him silly. Instead, she walked over the him and took her hand out to greet him. "Hello there, welcome to the party for the new and old employees of level 1! I'm Melanie Caperelli and you must be new here?" She grabbed his hand and shook it with excitement.

David gave a polite nod to Mr. Kim. “I shall, sir. Thank you.” He said politely at the man. Well, he should be since he was new. He needed all the help he can get—not just from his department but from the rest of the Ministry as well. Teamwork, right? “I believe the Ministry’s Food Court is being planned. I’d love to know what you want to see in that area. Do you have any requests or ideas sir?” he asked. Although he’s not assigned for the task, it wouldn’t hurt at all if he picks up a few ideas from those who will be using it.

“I see. He is a good boss, then.” He said nodding. Good leaders do listen and take into account the opinions of those who are under him. “I’ve heard about Lord Borr though—he was mentioned two years ago by my good friend who is in Hogwarts now. Would you know what happened to him?” he asked. He’s heard that Lord Borr was...well. Weird.

David smiled at the man when he was asked about his major. “I took Experimental Magic and Research in Edinburgh Wizarding University. I chose Architecture as my major.” It was pretty cool to do so many charms and transfigurations in his college days. He was able to enchant buildings, and to experiment on different building materials to tailor the users’ need. “How about you sir? What major did you choose?” David returned the question as he scratched his temple. Just then, he caught a glimpse of a man who entered the break room. He looks respectable enough to be the Minister.

Right. Celebration. Mason figured he should probably attend the occasion. Especially since he just got promoted and since welcoming the new employees was an important thing to do and what not. He was, however, running late. But he blamed it on his dog.

Wearing his new suit, Mason followed a woman and... the Minister into the room. Well, he must not have been too late if the Minister had just arrived as well. When he got inside, Mason stood before him and greeted the man with a smile. "Minister Greingoth. Good to see you." It was always nice to say hello to the man in charge, wasn't it? So he did, and extended his hand for a shake.

And he also hear there was going to be free food at this shindig. Which was another reason why Mason had come to this gathering. Just being honest.

Alexander is true to his word with that one. He does like to help others, especially the new employees, whether or not they are in the same level as he is. Alexander nodded as he took a sip with the butterbeer glass on his hand. It's been awhile since he last drank this stuff. It was a bit refreshing and simply nostalgic too.

Then the topic shifted to the food court. He did hear about this new project and quite frankly, he is enthusiastic after hearing about it. The ministry did need something like this a long time ago. As for what he wants... Alexander gave it a small thought. It's a cafeteria, he's pretty sure that people would already know which food to serve. The break room has free coffee, Alexander looked at David "A nice steak would do" Alexander and his son loves steak, A LOT!

Of course the new Minister is way better than the last one. "Borr was just..." Alexander tried to find a certain word that would best explain his past boss. "...well... a bore" he chuckled softly. Yeah, that was the word. "he acted like he was the bloody king in this place" he added while taking another sip of butterbeer. Really, this is such god stuff.

It was told by a Hogwarts' friend? "Really? Who's your friend?" Another thing about Alexander is that he still gets excited over Hogwarts. He missed the school. It has been such a long time since he last went to school... LONG LONG time. Sigh. "Does he still go to Hogwarts?"

Experimental Magic and Research in Edinburgh Wizarding University.

Wow. That's quite a major he has there. Experiment and research is just pure mind blowing. "That's really nice" he said nodding to the young man. Good choice for work. Definitely worth it. When David asked him the same question, his eyes glanced back to the young lad. "I took up Magical research on ghosts and other paranormal beings" ironic isn't it? His major is perfect for Mysteries, right?

Before Alexander could ask further question, he saw the minister. He nudged his elbow to David "That' the new Minister. Alexander Greingoth" in case, he doesn't know? But that would just be impossible, right? Looking at him, his feet moved "Want to go meet him then?" because he definitely will.

Walking to the minister, Alexander gave him a slight nod on the head as a greeting. A smile curled up onto his lips as he got nearer "Minister, welcome" he said gesturing his hand over to the man. He was just talking about him after all. Asking the Senior Undersecretary if he would arrive. "How have you been, Minister? And your family?" Alexander asked. The party had been starting already and it is good that people were mingling and getting along just fine.

Looking around the room, Alexander caught another man walk in around the same time. He glanced over and gave the man a nod of acknowledgment before continuing his walk around the breakroom. It was good to mingle among the employees.

Hearing his name, Alexander paused mid-walk and turned toward the source of the sound. Appearing as calm and confident as he usually did, he looked at the man and, upon recognizing him, extended his hand, as well. "Ah, Mr. Everard. Our new Maintenance Supervisor," he said. "I'm looking forward to hearing of the plans for the new food court. We hope to have it up and running soon. How's it coming along, hmm?"

Looking to the side as he took note of another man approaching, Alexander gave the Kim man a nod, as well. Extending his hand for a shake, he said, "Everything's coming along quite well, I must say. The family's great, too." He knew Mr. Kim had a son, a Slytherin son (which earned favor from Alexander), attending Hogwarts with Sierra. "...and how is your family? Jonathan, yes?" That was his son, hmm? "He has to be getting on up there now, hmm? Sixth year? Seventh?"

Rose smiled, "You're welcome" she said, then continued to lick away the frosting. Until she noticed the Minister of Magic walk in.

Vicky smiled and said,"Well, Alexander, I do believe so. He should be arriving soon, I'm sure. So, has it been for you, working on Level one?"

It was nice to be able to take a minute and talk to her co-workers.

Speaking of the minister, Vicky looked up in time to see Alexander walk into the office. She smiled and greeted him,"Good morning Minister. Hope the morning is well."

Alexander took the minister's hand. Hand shake. Minister Greingoth must have been busy but he it was still nice of him to come over to the party, despite his schedule. His presence alone is a big gesture to every new employee right now. Some has never met him yet.

Alexander nodded as the minister shared his family story. He's currently married to Hecate Lafay, Jonathan's Potions professor. He speaks about her a lot especially during vacations. "That's really nice to hear, sir" he said nodding once more. Then, the minister mentioned his son's name. Alexander smiled, "You're familiar with my sons' name" he never really knew. "Jonathan is in his seventh year at Hogwarts right now" graduating soon and taking up his NEWTs. Alexander will be expecting a lot from him. "the family is just fine." he added looking at the Minister once more, "How about Sierra and Alex?" wait, the son's name is Alexander too right? He did his research but he seems to forgot about it. Sierra, he's sure of, Jonathan told him about her. "I hear your daughter is the new Prefect"

Ah, yes. That was the lovely sound of a... promotion title. Mason smiled proudly at the Minister and shook his hand. "Yes, sir. And thank you for this opportunity; I look forward to working hard with the Maintenance team." He'd like to see Medea Ward's face now that he had been promoted as a Supervisor. Now she couldn't mock his low status in the Ministry just because she used to be high in the ranks, blahblahblah. Actually, he didn't really want to see her face, now that he thought about it. He preferred not seeing her ever again.

But anyway; food court. "It's going along quite well, actually. The finishing touches have been put on the plans and I believe the construction should start in no time." At least... that's what he knew. And he certainly hoped the Minister didn't know otherwise or else he'd be a bit embarrassed. Heh.

Melanie couldn't help but overhear the mention of another new supervisor of the Maintenance crew in the break room. She walked over to the two employees ad hoped that they wouldn't find her rude for interrupting their conversation. "Hi there. I couldn't help overhearing your discussion about the food court. My name is Melanie and I have been promoted as one of the Maintenance supervisor as well. Pleased to meet you." She smiled to the two people in front of her.

Mason turned to the sound of a new voice. Oh, it was... her. He couldn't remember her name off the top of his lead, but luckily she said it. Melanie. A Maintenance Supervisor as well. Mason smiled at her and extended his hand for her to shake. "Pleased to meet you, Melanie. I think this new food court is going to be a big success," he said with a confident smile. That's what people said at these parties, right? Confidence and stuff, so all the new employees would be excited to start working. Yep.

To herself Victoria laughed a little, what a nightmare for something like that to happen. Depending on how it all went out, she wouldn't want to show her face around the Minister every again. It didn't bother her too much, she didn't care much. If you can read it at all, thats what mattered.

Kyle smiled over to Victoria and couldn't help but chuckle when she commented about her own hand writing - "Oh don't worry about that lovey, I'm sure its more wonderful than you think it really is". After all people were their worst critiques were they not?

"Honestly - spells do help with quoting things as well, you can simply flick your wand and tell the quill to write everything that is said in a room...though, I'd rather do it myself and avoid mistakes. We don't want another Rita Skeeter incident now do we?" She chuckled. "I mean - I must say she had to be the worst reporter in the daily prophet's history of reporters" she chuckled.

Then another fine good-looking lad came in again but it seems the young ones were the ones not speaking the most. There's no need to be shy, all Level 1 employees are not that hard to approach, really. Alexander approached the young man on the buffet table and gave himself a drink as well. "Good day to you" good day indeed. "Join the party, welcome to Level 1" he said smiling at him. Yes, there's plenty of people to mingle with.

Oh, and he almost forgot...

"I'm Alexander Kim, one of the Minister's Advisors" he said, gesturing for a handshake with his free hand. "How about you?" name? Job description?

Ahhh, finally a very familiar face, even though Alexander has never been acquainted with this person. Well, at least he knows him because he has saw him from time to time especially during work hours. Plus, this man has been in the Ministry for quite long. Of course Alexander would definitely know who he is. "Mr. Scherfig, isn't it?" was his pronunciation correct too? Alexander looked at him, now that he thinks about it, his name has an Alexander too.

It was nice to meet a familiar face, "Alexander Kim" he smiled at him. "Nice to meet you" he added.


Speaking of familiar faces, another one has walked inside for the party. What was her name again? Layla Roxanne Dacosta... Alexander already took the liberty of getting to know all the names of the employees in Level 1. It would be rather embarrassing not to know the people he works with. He has been working as the Minister's Advisor for 2 years already.

"uhmm, Layla Roxanne Dacosta" he said, giving the lady a smile "Nice to finally meet you" Alexander has been acquainted to some but not to all. So this party is the time for him to finally get acquainted with them.

Senior Undersecretary, Victoria Daniels has finally arrived in the building. Alexander walked towards to him as he brought her some cold drink. She seems to be in a good mood too. Well, who doesn't? Their were so many new faces. "Good morning Senior Undersecretary" he said giving her a small nod and smile while offering her the drink on his other hand. "Everyone seems to be having fun" he added. Yes, just look at everyone. Most of them are already finding new friends. That's a good sign.

Oh, of course, he smiled at her "I'm Alexander Kim, one of the Minister's Advisors" they both haven't been acquainted yet so it was only formal to do so. No need for her introductions, Alexander already knows her.

"Its a pleasure to meet you as well Mr. Kim" she smiled over to him he seemed like a nice guy - definitely more important than her simple scribe position after all he seemed to be making rounds and meeting every new and old employee on the level like it were some sort of clockwork game of chess; every piece lined up in a perfect circle. Well - the pieces in this room weren't in a perfect circle they kept moving and mingling.

That was the point of today wasn't it? Meet everyone, make bonds, learn how not to feel like a little toddler about to pee your pants when talking to someone who worked on the same level as you?

Thinking of that she made another mental note - she'd lost count on how many notes she'd made herself today...but this one important. She had to scope out the best bathrooms in the building and in her level.

Especially her level. "If you wish sir, you can call me Kyleigh or Kyle...either works to be honest though Kyleigh or Miss Manning are both far more professional than my childhood nickname" she smiled over to him, her smile today was crisp, clean, and professional like she was molded for a job that made you stand in the corner smile and nod as she wrote down what people were saying (and maybe even doing if it was asked of you).

Layla retunred the nod that the Senior Undersecretary gave in her direction and added a smile. Good woman, she loved her drive and she certainly admired the way she carried out her job. Her eyes followed her until she approach the table, then Layla's eyes returned to combing the room for new and old faces.

Her attention was quickly drawn to a young blonde who seemed to trip over nothing...O_O..Whaaa? That was certainly something one didn't see everyday. She did her best to not stare at the woman because she was sure that would further embarrass her.

And then then one of the minister's advisors approached her. It was a man whom she was working with for a while, a little over a year now since transferring to the department. She had passed him more than a few times but exchanging nothing more than a curt nod or so. She returned his smile and offered her hand to him to shake. "Layla works. It is a pleasure to officially meet you too."

On the contrary Kyleigh's clumsyness and the fact that Layla was looking over didn't make her feel any more awkward at all. She was perfectly capable at making her own awkward moments and she was sure losing a heel on her shoe, tripping on nothing, and well anything she did in the day could make her day far more awkward. She was just as much of an awkward magnet as her aunt had always been.

How her mother's graceful traits had skipped her seemed to always fail to make sense to her. Her brother was graceful, she wasn't, her father was graceful and her mother - and she was an awkward lumbering fool. But she wasn't tall and lanky she was short and clumsy.

Perfect.

It was almost as if she was actually Alicia's long lost daughter but she knew that wasn't the case. What? She believed her mother when she showed her the photos of her being born.

Gag.

When she heard Preston begin to speak she turned her attention back to him.

He had never really hear his Aunt Lauren complain about wearing her heels, but then again as a fashion designer she was probably used to wearing the painful contraptions on a daily basis. Preston couldn't help but wonder if her feet were just numbed all the time from wearing the shoes.

Cocking his head to the side, Preston thought back really hard to his days at Hogwarts. He knew he had seen her around, but he couldn't exactly put a finger on it.

"Well, you are lucky that you never have to wear them" she smiled over to him. Glancing over she did have to ponder for a moment about where she knew the curly haired boy from. "This may sound strange but did you attend Hogwarts about three years ago...or was it four - when the black ship arrived on the Black Lake?" She asked taking a handle on her strange allotment of sudden bravery.

Sudden bravery was a good thing.

Did that even make sense? "Beauxbatons?" she asked curiously. Not that it could be considered a question. But she had asked questioningly.

She was nervous too? Well duh! Would she have said what she just said if she wasn't? But it seemed the nerves were running wild in the room at the moment and who would blame them. Assuming everyone in the room were new employees. Jade wouldn't know, this was her first day and up to now, she only knew two people. "First day nerves are the worst. I think we'll be a lot better once we've gotten used to the surroundings and stuff. But it helps no-one's alone" she responded. Now she sounded as though she was giving some sort of opening speech or something.



Jade turned her head to face Rowan as he began to speak. Was it just her or did his nerves seem off the scale? Maybe it was just because he was around a lot of people and probably didn't know very many of them. "As I said, we'll get over the nerves once we get a little used to the surroundings and meet more people" she responded STILL sounding as though she was giving a speech. But she didn't mean to sound the way she did. It was just the way it came out of her mouth. And she didn't have much control over that.

Kyleigh smiled when she heard the french that Jade was obviously speaking - she was sure that she had messed up what she had been trying to say earlier herself but hearing it made her want to run off and talk in her former first language...well it wasn't really her first or second language she had learned both English and French at the same time...her half language then maybe?

"Beauxbatons? Really? I did go there you as well I presume then?" She asked smiling, and then her smile faltered just slightly she remembered her final year there. The last day before summer break she had run into the dinning hall - and accidentally thought a spell she didn't remember what it was.

Probably Reducto for all she could think. Because after all the beautiful statue left to the school by that years graduating class had shattered...well more like exploded.

She knew her face looked twisted and contorted just a little - not with pain, but the pain of an awkward memory. "I - er, I was the girl who exploded the statue back in the year...I think it was 2073...or 2072 I don't really remember" she just remembered it happening and the shower of shimmering crystal that radiated in the light casting rainbows about the room. It was beautiful until she got herself a stern talking to and a near expulsion.

She had noticed that the media liaison had returned a nod. She must a have word with her. She seems much like Victoria herself. Driven, focused and intelligent.

Kyleigh smiled over to Vicky and nodded indeed Vicky was right. "Ah yes, you 'ave caught me" her french accent slightly thicker as she had just finished thinking of her time back in France - and the accent just never fully disappeared ever. It was always there, just sometimes a little bit more faint as the years went on. "I must ask would you like to be called Victoria or Vickeh' " her accent softening the end of the nickname.

Victoria reaches the door to the break room breathing hard for she's been running all the way here. But still she was late....she knew it hearing the voices from inside the room.

She so wanted the come here first to welcome the new employees as that was the aim of the party. However, it didn't work the way she wanted. Not a very good first impression...she thought to herself.

Taking a deep breath and smiling she opened the door to see some huge party. Her smile got widened looking at all the faces. She could recognize some of them but others she couldn't.Those must be the new employees they are supposed to welcome.

After clearing her throat she started with quite a loud voice to be heard, "Ahem.....Hello everyone! I'm Victoria Smith I'm a secretary at the lobby. I'm So sorry for being late" she apologized. "I'm glad I could make it here, And to all the new employees Welcome to Level one, hope you enjoy working with us." she said "And also to my co-workers HI!" She waved the crowd inspecting the faces to memorize the new employees and to search for her friends and colleagues.

Kyleigh looked over to the new girl who pretty much announced a quite loud and boisterous hello to the entire crowd. Now that wasn't exactly personable. She had nearly spoken to everyone in the room now - and had to go and meet the others soon.

Stepping closer to Victoria she smiled. "Hello Miss is it Miss or Mrs, Smith?" she asked smiling not wanting to offend anyone. "I am Kyleigh Manning the new Ministry Scribe, I must ask...we do have many Victoria's' on this level is it a secret trend?" Guess I missed the memo that if you worked on level on and were a girl you were supposed to be named Victoria. Maybe even have the nickname Vicky - Vic - Tori - Tor...and whatever else you could even possibly think of to make all the Victoria's be differentiable.

For her, he was just her boss.

And the Minister of Magic.

Turning towards the Minister she smiled. Trying to remind herself not to look too awkward with her smiling all the time. If someone weren't wise enough they might think she was mentally deficient. Nope. Well, maybe she wasn't sure.

No she was sure, she'd just never been the same after she'd been possessed she was always a little more paranoid about antique objects. You would be hardpressed to find her picking up an antique object willynilly.

Smiling was a good sign to her - and well, she was too trusting that people's appearances meant more than they often did. She often thought smiles were the best features on people.

And they were.

And his was great. But more in a welcoming don't be afraid to say hello to me new people way. She did do just that.

Taking a tentative step forward she walked over towards where Mason and the Minister were both talking and smiled.

"It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance Minister Greingoth" she smiled to the Minister and then turning toward Mason she smiled. "I don't believe we've met - I'm Kyleigh Manning one of the new Ministry Scribes" she smiled over to him.

After introducing herself Victoria stepped back a few steps as she heard the door opening, she turned her face to see thinking this might be someone she knows. Well, it was someone she knows but it also was the Minister himself.

It's not like Victoria never saw him or talked with him. But that was when she knocked on his door and was holding some important papers or was informing him with some information. Well, she recovered from her astonishment fast thankfully and stepped a bit closer ,"Good day Mister Minister." Smiling and nodding she said.

Victoria smiled as an employee approached her,"Nice to meet you Kyleigh," Wasn't she supposed to call her by her last name,"Erm I mean miss Manning." Well, Victoria so has to work on her manners, she can't keep calling people she just met by their first names....Luckily Kyleigh seems to be a nice person and she doesn't seem the kind to criticize.

Mrs?! Now this is starting to get too respecting, it's only her... Victoria she doesn't have to be treated that respectfully! Or this the way normal people behave...no wonder she is not familiar with it having three brothers,"Oh it's Miss, but you can just call me Victoria or anything." Well, not really anything.....

Looking around them carefully to add a dramatic effect Victoria got closer and said in a low voice, "You just discovered the secret of this level....I'm afraid you can't stay here any longer." She said blank-faced then, "Hahaha....Sorry I'm just kidding!" She giggled. Bad move...you also don't joke with people you just met the voice in her head said but she just ignored it.

"Actually I didn't know there are other Victorias here....Are they pretty like me?" She asked smiling meaning this was ALSO a joke.
