Or...maybe it was along the lines of black, meaning that it embodied everything?
"Professor, is this blank rune perhaps like the blank tile in muggle game Scrabble? It is the tile that you can use for any letter of the alphabet."
She paused for a moment.
"So...maybe it means adaptability and change?" They were shape shifters after all. "Like...maybe it is the rune of the shape shifters?" Di's eyes twinkled merrily. "One can call it a rune of adaptability and change," she agreed. "Take two points for Gryffindor." Quote:

Finally, she raised her hand. "The Blank Rune could be white, like a blank page or like...dull, blank, whiteness, like everything would be if there weren't other colors and all that," she said a little uncertainly. Kind of a weird comparison, that last bit, now that she thought about it. She probably should've just stuck with the blank page one. Ah well. Moving on. "And it's meaning...maybe it could mean a beginning, or starting from nothing, kind of like the legend about how the tribe was created. They were wolves once, not people, but then their creator came and turned those wolves into people, so, in a way, they started their tribe from nothing and it grew into what it is today. So maybe the Blank Rune kind of symbolizes that and reminds them of their origins and how they began." Or how they believed they began, depending on how one viewed it and whether it was entirely true or not. "Out-of-the-box," Di commented. Not correct, but not the run-of-the-mill response either. "Take two points for Ravenclaw." Quote:

Hmm.
Salander raised his hand and replied "Maybe the rune doesnt have any colors, it would be clear because y'know its-- blank, its empty. And when the wolves see something thats empty, it means... they got no food and they hafta hunt? Otherwise their tummys are gonna be as empty as that blank rune. And thats a threat to their survival. Which can be the same for the tribe-- its a rune that tells them they have to do something or they face a bleak future." he was so grasping at straws here. Di's lips quirked up into an amused smell. "Empty tummies?" She asked, clearly finding the response humorous. "I don't know how empty tummies fit into the equation, Mr. Salander, but take two points for Slytherin for landing the correct colour... no colour." Quote:

Cookie girl’s answer echoed in her mind, though it wasn’t what she was thinking of for the meaning of the rune. "Since, it’s a ‘blank’ rune an all…perhaps the color is white?" she asked, her head tilting to the side so she could actually glance towards the Professor without straining her eyes. However, a moment later she went back to leaning against her cushion, and staring at the ceiling. "And it could mean something about them in general? I mean, they’ve all been about them, but I mean something on the inside. Like their inner strength or just the entire focus of who they are as a whole? In other words, the rune could represent them, and all of them combined as one. Not necessarily their origins like someone had mentioned..." Whoever that was. "But...yea. Kinda like a family rune."
That…sounded so much better in her mind.
... and there came another correct answer. Di nodded brightly at the Slytherin girl though, when she spoke, she spoke to all the students gathered in the classroom.
"The Blank Rune is just that... a blank. Colourless." The last rune appeared in front of each student as Di spoke, a hard, transparent nugget that sparkled like a diamond. "It represents - for lack of a better phrase - everything Quileute. The tribe; its beliefs, spirituality and customs; their purpose, history and trades; and the other runes. It's the 'lucky stone' in a sense, and it links all the runes, causing their energies to multiply and flow more fluidly... and of course, it does the most marvellous things in actual light."
She held up the rune, showing how its illumination was the illumination in the room: all sorts of colours, soft and many and pretty, radiating from the rune in gentle waves.
Collecting all five of the runes that had appeared in front of her, Di made them disappear, before addressing the class again. "We're going to recreate a Quileute battle, today," she said cheerfully. "This is the battleground." This meaning the classroom. "Your weapons are -" Fliiick of the wand, and a pile of fat pillows and cushions appeared in a corner of the room. "- Over there." The pillows and cushions? YUS. "Each of you has five Quileute runes, so make the most of them. Stick them to a pillow, wear them round your neck, braid them in your hair, the choice is yours."
"The cushions you're seated on are going to disappear, once you get up. You have about -" She glanced at her watch - "Let's see, ten minutes to pick up whatever number of pillows you think you can handle and incorporate the runes. There's an endless supply of pillows -" Near enough, that is -"So you can pick up more, later on. Sooo... once I give the go-ahead, the battle is on."
So saying, Di got up. Her cushion disappeared as could be expected, but she appeared not to notice. The Runes Professor skipped over to the pillow!cushion!pile and strapped a small, round cushion to her head. What? She had to make sure she stayed safe! OOC: You may RP your characters getting pillows!etc. and using the runes, but the pillow fight doesn't start until Di says so. This is part of the Runes final, and a minimum of seven creative posts = fifteen individual points. Extra credit is available for awesome RP'ing.
