Chapter Thirteen - Annoying Little Gingers vs Cute Little Blondes


"Seriously Melanie," Indie insisted, "Hermione likes Anton, and he likes her back!"
It was really frustrating having a stubborn sister...
"I don't know where you're getting this from, but Anton does not like -"
"Who don't I like?" Anton piped up, as he leaned against Indie and Bella's chairs, putting his head into his sisters' conversation.
"Viktor Krum," Bella cried, "because he's better than the England seeker..."
Indie rolled her eyes; Bella wasn't exactly subtle when it came to covering up.
Anton smirked, nodding gently.
"Yeh, you're right, I don't like Krum," he began, "because he's cocky, annoying and he keeps writing to...."
He broke off before he could finish the sentence, turning a noticeable shade of pink.
"Ahem, ahem..." he loudly cleared his throat, before talking again, "anyways, Mum wants us to head to Flourish and Blotts now while there's not many people there."
He walked away briskly, leaving his three sisters behind to finish their sundaes.
Bella and Indie were giggling quietly, while Melanie's mouth hung open slightly, as she too began to giggle.
Indie paused, before pointing a finger between her sisters;
"I told you so!"

As they walked out of Flourish and Blotts, several books under their arms, Bella, Indie and Melanie were quietly talking to one another, before they met up with the rest of the gang. Melanie headed over to Paul, Fred and George, while Bella branched off to speak to her mother. Indie veered off toward Harry, Ron, Hermione and...Ginny.
If it weren't for Ginny, it might have been easy to start to talk to the others, but the ginger-haired girl was making it difficult.
"Hey, Hermione -"
"Oh, sorry, Hermione's talking to Ron right now, but I'll tell her you wanted her, okay?" Ginny said sarcastically, a quick, nasty smile following as she turned back to the group.
Indie stepped back; she was used to Ginny not liking her, but it wasn't often she was that rude. Perhaps she was still hooked on the idea that Indie apparently liked Harry.
Pfft, yeh, like that would happen, Indie thought, as she walked on alone. That was, until a finger poked into her side, and she abruptly squealed and jumped a mile.
"Hey Bonkers, how's it going?" Tonks said, smiling as she put an arm around Indie's shoulders and continued walking with her.
"I'm over this," she said, "I'm over feeling really happy, then letting cranky, jealous, puny little gingers ruin my day!"
Tonks raised an eyebrow.
"Ginny?" she asked.
"You bet."
"Harry?"
"Ah-huh."
"Again?"
"Yep."
"Want me to hex her?"
"Ye- No!"
Tonks laughed, causing Indie to smile.
"You nearly said yes!" Tonks said, laughing, although Indie could still see the hint of disappointment in her eyes.
"Yes, but I don't want her to get hurt because of my hate for her," Indie said, "I'm not going to stoop to her level. But I tell ya, she lays a hex on me...bang, ZOOM!"
She demonstrated her actions with her hands, before laughing along with Tonks.
"It's okay, I know for a fact, that Ginny is in for a spot of disappointment in the 'Harry' category," Tonks said, her dark eyes glinting in the midday sun.
"Serves her - wait, what?" Indie nearly fell over in shock.
"You heard me, Harry doesn't have a thing for annoying little gingers," Tonks said, wandering off toward Lupin.
Indie could definitely say she was shocked, and definitely happy that Harry didn't like Ginny, since that would show Ginny up. But there was another reason, one she couldn't quite put her finger on.
"Hey there sis, what's up?" Bella exclaimed, her arm around Indie's shoulder, and Indie's around Bella's waist as she walked longside her.
"Ginny is in for some major disappointment," Indie said, an evil glint in her eye now.
Bella stopped, and furrowed her brow, "What makes you say that?"
Indie shrugged, as she shook her head and watched her feet, before looking back up again.
"A little birdy told me Harry Potter doesn't have a thing for annoying little gingers," Indie said excitedly (though maybe a little too overexcited).
Bella laughed quietly.
"Well, a little birdy told me he does have a thing with cute little blondes who are more than meets the eye," Bella added slyly, as she let go of Indie and began skipping ahead.
"Wait, Bella! What do you mean?!!?" Indie cried, her smile difficult to hide, but she managed to keep her composure for the moment.
"You heard me," Bella said, looking back at Indie, as she continued walking backwards.

"It looks like Hermione and Anton aren't going to be the only new cute couple this year!"
