FRIENDS FOREVER III

It was an unusually bright pleasant morning after the end of Second Wizarding War when a long blonde haired girl with her spectra specs to evade the Warkspurts from her garden.
“ ‘Morning Luna” said a polite voice and at once Luna Lovegood turned to see Neville Longbottom standing there at the fence of her garden
“Neville!” she exclaimed rather in an pleasantly amusing way removing her googly eyed specs and came in and hugged him which left him red
“you alright?” she asked seeing him turn red
“ah? Yea-yeah, I am fine” he stuttered
“oh good, because for a second I thought you had Warkspurts buzzing around you” she said smilingly and then returned back to doing her work: evading the creatures that she so strongly believed in.
Neville stood and watched Luna evade the so called creatures with such a varied style, swinging her wand in a characteristic way which was comical but one could imagine that she was dancing to some tune just known to her.
After what seemed like half an hour Luna looked back at Neville and smiled and said
“do come in” and lead him into the Lovegood Residence.
“your dad not around?” he asked
“no, he knows where can he get the solid proof for Gulping Plimpies, so he is after them” she said smiling
“Gulping what?” he asked slightly amused but his voice characteristically confused.
Neville still found certain things hard to believe and digest
“Gulping Plimpies, Neville” she said and poured him a glass of butterbeer
“oh, well I don’t really know what they are” he said and sipping in his butterbeer
“oh well, is a breed of Plimpy which repells Gurdy roots” she said and Neville looked at her for a moment and just politely nodded his head
“You know my dad makes Plimpy soup, it tastes really well” she said
“oh” was all Neville could say.
They sat in silence for sometime and then Luna spoke
“hey, actually my room has to be done would you mind coming and helping me?”
“your room, no problem but what went wrong in there?” he asked and Luna filled in how during the war her house got devastated
“you know you just have to help me in handing me down the things while I set them properly” she said and led him on to the spiraling staircase.
Following Luna, Neville entered the brightly lit room. The room was almost done but still had few things out of place.
“you have set these things back?” he asked looking at the boxes full of variety of weird things
“yeah”
Neville looked around and saw there were quite some murals and paintings displayed around something which he had no idea about Luna
“why don’t you use your wand” he asked and a smiling Luna turned to him and spoke
“Neville, how much ever bravely I held myself against Bellatrix I still am not allowed to perform magic when not in school, at least not until I turn 17”
“oh yeah, sorry I forgot” he said and then turned away looking around her room when his eyes fell on the mural
“wow” he breathed
“what?”
“you painted this?” he asked. He saw Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny and his own painting there and a sense of gratitude and emotion overwhelmed him
“yeah, you know its nice to have friends like you” she said unabashedly which made Neville go uncomfortable. Luna’s such nature made her what she was; unique and completely wonderful person to be friends with. Someone who was never afraid of speaking her mind be it the bitter truth or an honestly deserving praise for someone.
A person who with completely out of world beliefs doesn’t bother what people think of her and yet could touch and effect your life in such small ways that you cant avoid its effects and for that Neville was so very thankful to Luna…
