"I think you've made a minor error in her middle name. If I heard correctly, her middle name is Amelie, not Amelia which would mean the last digit is a 5 not a 1. Other than that, your calculations look good," she nodded, moving on to her partner's parchment. Quote:

Blinking a few times, and rechecking her work like four more, she turned to Ty to see that he was already done with hers. "You're fast." Annie said, giving him back his paper and taking her own.
"And here is your paper, Ty..." Annie said, "I hope I'm right with the calculations...it seems we have the same destiny number..." She mentioned.
She read her life path number and destiny number and quickly turned to her textbook to read what it said, to the four of them. Maybe then, they could help each other decipher what it actually said about them. Next group.

At second glance though, she figured Ced was just a nickname, and quickly crossed it off her parchment. Oops. "You should write my name down, too. Destiny Hekate Shepard. That's Hekate with a K, not a C." She had to make that clear, or her reading would all be wrong! "When is your birthday?" Not really an error, but just advice. "While your calculations are correct, keep in mind that it is sometimes best to show ALL work. For instance, with his middle name, it adds up to 28, before reducing to 10 and then 1. So just keep in mind that the more work you show, the better off you'll be and less room for errors. Good job though," she commented; especially considering at the start of the lesson, the girl didn't seem like Arithmancy was one of her top subjects. Quote:

Josephina hurried over to another pairing, this one of a Gryffindor and a Ravenclaw. "You've made a minor error in your addition. You should reduce all components first to a single digit, which you forgot to simplify her day. So the second number should reduce to a 6, which would bring the sum of your reduced digits to 18, which reduces to 9, as her life path." She nodded at the girl. Quote:

For instance, reducing 45 to a 9, 35 to an 8, 38 to an 11 and then 2, and 11 to a 2. Adding 9 plus 8 plus 2 plus 2 is much easier than those LARGE numbers." Fina nodded at the girl.

It wasn't the right time to stare and study Destiny's phenomenal features. He looked back on his parchment and trying not to get distracted again by Destiny and nope, Destiny wasn't being ultra attractive but over distracting, yep.
He stared at her as she repeated his birthday. Did she scoffed or snickered maybe? she'd better not. And Ced realized that Destiny didn't seem to believe that he just commended her about her middle name. "Hey. I'm joking, right? I know your middle name sounds horrible... And you and the new Potions professor both shares that 'Hekate' name.. Well, sort of."
And now he had been just finished computing Destiny's life path number and he didn't want things to be mixed or muddled up so he checked on in his work again. " And I'm now done with yours." He grinned and nonchalantly peered at Destiny's parchment which contained his core numbers. "Hmm. Those are quite accurate. As it says, I'm destined for managing and methodizing and that could be so true since we own businesses.. muggle businesses and Mom is the one who is running it all...." He told her and added inwardly just to himself, "Since my father died just too soon." And he wasn't really boasting. For him, running a company wasn't something to be proud of because it was suffocating, it would be like his life would be planned every single day.
"Anyway, about my Life path number. It's quite accurate too I think since I'm interested in designing. Well, designing landscapes and/or gardens like a horticulturist to be specific.
"Take a good look at the book's interpretations on your core numbers and I just noticed that your Destiny and Life Path Number are both number one... That's pretty interesting. So, are they accurate enough?"

"You should separate out which numbers are for each name. For if you did that then you would see that the numbers in Katherine reduce to 1, whereas the numbers in Pots reduce to 7, which would mean your final answer is different than what you got. Try it again and you'll see what I mean," Fina nodded at the girl encouragingly. Quote:

"Everyone is doing wonderfully so far, but some general reminders are when calculating someone's name, please make sure you fully reduce each component to a single digit before adding to the other components. For instance, in my name, Hadley, the numbers 8+1+4+3+5+7 added up to 28, which I reduced to a 10 and then 1, before adding it to my the number from my middle and first names." Josephina explained, pointing at the board with her numbers up there.
"A good recommendation when starting out is to write out each name separately and assign a number to it, according to the Pythagorean number system. Total each name and reduce to a single digit.
Then go back and add up the final reduced digits to get your final number. The more work you show, the less chance of making a mistake. Plus, I can give partial credit if you show your work, whereas if you don't, then I cannot give you any credit." She paused letting this all sink in, as she glanced at her watch.
