The feast went by quickly, and I was rather satisfied. James and me had made an entrance, as we always did. The food tasted better then it ever had, and I had the feeling that James would have a date.
It’d been a good night.
I said goodbye to James, Remus and Peter who were all going to the Gryffindor common room, and found Clarisa in the Entrance Hall.
“Hey,” she smiled.
“Where do you want to go?” I asked, noticing her looking around the entrance hall with interest.
“Lets just walk around.” Clarisa said. “It's really cool here.”
I chuckled, and started walking. I was really paying much attention to where, really.
I liked talking to Clarisa. But being around a really pretty girl like her, usually felt different. This was more like when I was laughing with Andromeda. Just joking around.
“Soooo, is Adriana your girlfriend?” Clarisa asked.
“No way.” I answered, and chuckled. The thought of that just seemed strange to me. “That would never happen.”
“Why are you going to the ball with her, then?” Clarisa asked.
“Why wouldn’t I? She’s gorgeous.” I said, with a grin. She didn’t seem to find it very amusing, though. I didn’t see why.
She rolled her eyes. “Couldn’t you do better? Find a girl that you actually like, say?”
“What do you mean?” I asked, running my hand through my hair. Everyone had gone off to their common rooms now, so it was pretty quiet apart from us.
“You know, like a friend. Or someone you’d actually want to be your girlfriend.” Clarisa said.
“Like who?” I said.
“I don’t know. I’ve only just met you, I don’t know who you like.” Clarisa smiled.
“I don’t like anyone. I’m not smitten.” I said defensively.
“Everyone says that. But I bet there’s someone.” She said, and grinned. “Hogwarts is really cool."
I was about to reply, but stopped, hearing someone's voice.
"Hey! What are you doing?" The boy came closer, and I grinned when I saw who it was. Aaron Waters. His shiny prefects badge was on his chest, but he smiled and chuckled softly when he saw it was me. "I should've guessed that it would be Sirius and J-" He stopped, realising that it wasn't James who I was with.
"Hey Aaron." I said. He was your average Ravenclaw, but he always let James and me off. "This is Clarisa." I said. "I was just making sure that she wouldn't get lost."
"Of course you were."
