The feast was the same as always, really. I was flirting with the girl next to me, James was trying to get Lily’s attention and Peter was stuffing his face.
The usual.
“Do you want to show me around now?” Clarisa asked, giving me a smile. “After the feast, I mean.”
“Oh, sure.” I grinned at her.
“Great. I should go and find Sasha now, but come get me when the feast is over.” Clarissa stood up, and walked down the table. She just wasn't like any of the other girls I knew. I liked it.
“Sirius,” Remus sighed, looking at me. “You really shouldn’t.” He said. I rolled my eyes. He was being so... Remus.
I pretended to yawn. “Nothing’s going to happen.” I said, grinning at James. “There are all these girls, James. Don’t let them all get taken.”
“I could get any of those girls. Easy.” He said, his ego getting the better of him, as I knew it would.
“Really?” I asked, in a purposely doubtful tone. I knew he could. “If you say so,” I shrugged. I had to keep the smirk off my face, as James got defiant.
“Yes, I could in a day and it wouldn’t even be hard.” He said, smirking.
“Is that a bet, James?” I asked. I could see that he liked Lily so much; he wasn’t going to ask a girl to go to the ball with him by himself. I was being a good friend.
“Sure. It’s your money, anyway.” James couldn’t turn down a bet. He was far too competitive.
“5 galleons?”
“Deal.”
