I was still laughing with James about Snape when we found Remus and Peter and got into a carriage. After retelling the story to Peter and Remus, the former laughed along with us. Remus sighed lightly, not completely agreeing with the treatment we gave Snape.
That didn’t dampen my spirits however, nor did I hesitate on deciding with James that we had to get Snape back. What exactly he had done in the first place I'd forgotten already, but that didn't matter.
The bumpy ride in the carriage to the castle was a short one, and before long we’d stopped.
“We’re back,” Remus said, his features lighting up. I realized, only now, that he seemed more tired than the last time I’d seen him, and being back at Hogwarts gave him a lot of pleasure.
I was first to get out of the carriage, and while I waited for the others, I glanced around. Other carriages were arriving, and people getting out. The first of which that I recognized, were three girls in my year.
Catching my gaze, they burst into a fit of giggles and began whispering to each other quickly. I just have that affect on a lot of girls. I am extremely handsome, though.
The others had climbed out of the carriage, and I smirked at James smugly. "Clearly girls like me more." I said, this was an argument, a silly one at that, James and I frequently had. But I knew it wasn't girls he wanted to impress, but just one. Lily Evans. I started to head for the steps to the castle.
"Yeah, whatever." James said, rolling his eyes. "That's only--"
“Did you hear?” Remus asked thoughtfully. “I hear we have a new DADA teacher.” He intervened, knowing all too well that it would distract the both of us.
“Really? Professor Fisher left?” I asked, surprised. “He was a cool teacher.” I said, particularly liking the class. “Hope there’s a good replacement.”
“Yeah, that’s one of the best classes.” James said with a nod. "We'll find out soon."
