Chapter 29
The days went by fast and soon it was the day of the wedding. The house was full to the max. Some of Fleur’s relatives were also staying with them. Fred and George moved into Ron and Harry’s room. Hermione and Patricia were staying in Ginny’s room. Charlie stayed in Bill’s room, giving his room up to Fleur, Gabrielle, and her parents. Fleur’s aunt and uncle occupied Percy’s old room, and three of Fleur’s friends from France were staying in the twins’ room. Mr. and Mrs. Weasley were actually the only ones who didn’t move into another room or have somebody move in with them. Fleur’s family felt it was a sign of respect to keep the heads of house in their own rooms.
The morning of the wedding all the men were shunned downstairs and weren’t allowed to come upstairs. The girls took over the bathrooms and all of the rooms. Harry put on his brand new dress robes that were dark green. His eyes were even brighter now. Ron dressed into slick black dress robes that matched Charlie’s. They also matched another guy’s in the room, who was Bill’s best mate and happened to be his best man. Mr. Weasley helped Bill get ready and thought he was keeping him calm. But Bill didn’t need to be calmed down. His face was lit up with excitement and his scars were barely visible behind his wide smile.
When they Bill and Mr. Weasley walked outside, the garden blew everybody else away. It was decorated with flowers made of icicle. Everything was silver and gold. The chairs were pure white and lined up in perfect rows in front of the alter. The alter was surrounded by real red roses the entwined with each other all the way to the ground. Two single candles stood on either side of each other, bringing off a soft glow. A plain white mate led the kitchen door to the alter.
Slowly the chairs were beginning to fill up with family and friends. Harry stuck with Ron inside as long as he could. A few minutes before the wedding was to being, a gently clicking sound was heard coming down the stairs. Both Harry and Ron turned and saw Hermione transformed.
She was wearing a silky, midnight blue dress that reached the floor. The straps were skinny and made her shoulders bare. Her hair was up in a loose bun, and a string of one her curls were hanging down freely. Her make up was light, with eye shadow that matched her dress and mascara the made her eyelashes even longer.
“Harry come on! They are about to start.” She said grabbing his upper elbow. Ron was still staring at Hermione.
“I’ll see you after the wedding mate!” Harry called after him as he let Hermione pull him outside. They took two empty seats toward the front. Bill was already standing at the alter. A broad smiled went onto his lips as serene music started up.
First to come out was Gabrielle. She had a golden dress that went with her hair nicely. She held a silver basket in her in her left hand and was letting red rose petals fall from her other hand. Charlie and one of Fleur’s friends came down next. Charlie had fully recovered and looked good in his black dress robes. Ron and Patricia came after Charlie. Patricia’s long shiny blond hair (no longer curly) flowed out behind her. She held onto Ron’s arm, who was a little pink. Next came Ginny and Bill’s best mate. She looked like an angel in her golden dress. Her hair was straight and curled outward at the end. Her face glowed and when she caught Harry’s eye, she smiled. Harry couldn’t take his eyes off of her. She was the most beautiful girl on the planet.
At last the bride came down. On each side of her were her mother and father. Her bright white smile was bigger than everybody else. She had a soft white wedding dress on. Harry thought she would have come out with an extravagant dress, but the dress was simple. It flowed past her feet and looked like it was lighter than air. When they got to the alter, she gave two kisses each to both her parents and then took Bill’s waiting hands.
