Chapter 41: Revelations
Harry burst into the kitchen only to draw up short in the doorway. His mother and father along with Lupin, Sirius and Molly were already occupying seats around the kitchen table.
The two groups stared at each other for several seconds before Molly, sighing stood, “Care for some tea, Harry?” Without waiting for a response she absent mindedly got several cups down from the cupboard and proceeded to fill them with tea. Stifling a yawn she again sat back down, placing her head in her hands.
“…Thanks.” Harry said as he motioned the others to take the proffered tea. He coughed as he took a sip. This was the strongest tea he had ever tasted.
“We’ve been here for a while.” Lily said as way of explanation with a slightly embarrassed expression on her tired face.
“That’s ok.” Harry said as he struggled through another sip.
A movement caught his attention out of the corner of his eye and his eyes met the glance of Dobby, who winked before disappearing.
He smiled slightly as he took another sip of his tea, and sighed with delight at the now delicious tea that filled his cup and the tea pot.
Lupin caught his expression as he shook his head in amusement at the now tasty tea. Luckily Molly remained oblivious to the switch.
“So what brings you down to the kitchens at this late hour, Son? James said smiling at Harry.
“Oh nothing much,” Harry began trying to sound nonchalant, “just had a bad dream, that all.” Instantly the adults were all alert and paying attention.
“What about Harry?” Molly asked gripping his arm.
Harry sighed, knowing that he would have to tell them all together, which meant he wouldn’t be able to decide with Ron and Hermione which details to leave out in the retailing to the adults. “Snape is trying to get into my head, similar to what happened between me and Voldermort.”
Instantly the kitchen was in an uproar.
Harry calmly took a sip of his tea, ignoring the yelling around him. He looked up surprised to see his Godfather staring intensely at him.
“Silence!!” Sirius bellowed, jumping up so suddenly, Harry jerked and spilled the scalding tea all over himself.
The ruckus in the room ended as abruptly as it had begun, all eyes now focused on Sirius.
“This is a disturbing development.” He said softly, “I think we should cunsolt with not only Minerva, but also Albus, he needs to hear this.” He sat back down, the attention of the room still fully on him.
“I fully agree with you, Sirius.” Minerva said softly before anyone could open their mouths to retort.
