 Run, Emma, Run!
^^Yea, it's the lucky day! And here is the reason why today is lucky!...and there is a big surprise...well I consider it a surprise but I don't know about you...
Chapter 9:
Harry arrived at Kings Cross station five minutes before five. He was tired of
hearing Jennifer cry that her wedding was now a complete disaster. He was
tired of everything. All he wanted to do was go on this mission and get it
done with so he could go back to New York. Just then a faint pop was heard.
Harry turned around and saw that it was Dumbledore .
“ Professor Dumbledore sir” Harry said as he held out his hand.
“ Harry how are you?” Dumbledore replied.
“ Good sir”.
“ Ah well I am glad to hear that for you will need your strength for this
mission”.
“ Sir what exactly are we doing?”
“ I cannot tell you until your partner has arrived”.
“ Sir does Hermione have to be my partner… I mean Ginny is much more easy
to deal with!”
Dumbledore looked at Harry and smiled. Just then Hermione popped out of
thin air.
“Great! Is it to late to change my mind?” Harry said.
“I’m not happy to see your face either Potter so shut up!” Hermione snapped.
“ Hermione why don’t you just…”
Dumbledore however spoke up. “ Is there a problem between you two?”
“ No sir” Harry and Hermione said together.
“ Good. So this is what you will have to do. I need you two to go to the
Malfoy mansion and rescue the person who is needed to destroy the Death
Eaters power”.
“Who needs to be…”
“ Harry shut up! Let him finish!” Hermione snapped.
“ That is all the information I shall be giving you. Good luck!” and with that
Dumbledore left.
Hermione turned around and started to walk away.
“And where do you think you’re going?” Harry asked.
“ To the Malfoy mansion”.
“ Well we are partners you know!” Harry snapped.
“ Well I don’t think that’s a good idea. Look at the last time we were paired
up”.
Harry was shocked. What happened to the sweet innocent Hermione he once
knew?
Hermione continued to walk away.
“ Hermione we are partners whether you like it or not and we are going to
work together!”
Hermione turned, “ Well then get a move on!”

Hermione and Harry entered the Malfoy manor. It was quiet and empty.
“ Where do you think everyone is?” Harry asked.
“ Well Malfoy’s parents died and Malfoy is… where is Malfoy?”
“ Why do you want to know?” came a voice.
Hermione and Harry turned. Standing before them was the one and only
Draco Malfoy.
But this Draco was not the handsome looking boy he was at Hogwarts. He
was weak and rail thin. He had dark circles under his eyes and was covered
in bruises.
“Draco! What happened to you?” Hermione gasped.
“ Why do you care?” Draco asked as he stepped forward.
“Draco look at you! Why shouldn’t I care?” Hermione said.
“Because your Hermione” Draco said.
“Draco please I know we came unannounced and I know we aren’t the best
of friends but…”
Just then Draco collapsed and started to gasp for air. Hermione looked at
Harry.
“Harry what do we do?”
“Leave him there to die…” Harry said. Harry had hated Draco even more ever
since he tried to kill Dumbledore.
“Harry!” Hermione snapped.
Hermione walked over to Draco and bent down.
“Draco are you okay?”
“I’m fine…”
Draco pushed Hermione’s hand away.
“Draco don’t be an idiot! Come here!”
Hermione helped Draco onto his feet and took him to his bedroom, which was
kind of hard to find since the manor was full of rooms.
Hermione laid Draco down and gave him some water, Draco’s breathing
relaxed.
“Thank you Hermione” Draco said softly.
“It’s fine… oh Draco what happened?”
“What do you think? The Death Eaters beat me up after I refused to join
them and have continued to torture me ever since”.
“Oh Draco I’m so… hold on! You’re the one!” Hermione said all of a sudden.
“I’m what?”
“We have to save you! Draco listen to me, if you come with us we can help
you and you can help us destroy the Death Eaters!”
Draco looked at Hermione as if she was crazy.
“How can I help?”
“Draco please!”
”No. I won’t be any help and why should I be saved, I’m already dying.”
“Draco no you’re not!”
“Granger I have no life and I have no girlfriend! Which for me is weird since I
have always had a girlfriend!”
Hermione laughed.
“Draco come on! You’re still very good looking and I’m sure any girl would love
to be with…with you. Draco what are you doing?”
Draco got up and walked across the room. He pulled out a gold locket.
“Here” he said to Hermione.
Hermione took the locket and opened it.
It was a picture of her and Draco and on the back it said “Friends Forever”.
“Draco what is it?”
“I was going to give it to you at graduation but since I never had the
chance… it’s my way of saying thank you for being there for me when no one
else was…even if we had to meet in secret”.
Hermione smiled. “Draco you’re sweet”.
The truth was that Hermione and Draco had become very close during their
last two years at Hogwarts. Hermione had helped Draco stand up to his
father and Draco had helped Hermione gain more confidence in herself.
“Thank you” Hermione said and hugged Draco.
Draco hugged Hermione back and just then Harry walked through the door.
“I’m sorry to interrupt but Hermione I just searched every dungeon and no
one is captured so we might as well leave” Harry said annoyed.
“Harry no, Draco is the one we have to save”.
“What? Us help him? I don’t think so”.
“Potter stop being a jerk! Come on Draco… let’s go”.
Hermione walked past Harry and was out of sight. Draco stayed where he
was.
“You might as well follow her Potter. I’m not going”.
“You have to come now, Dumbledore wants to help you and Hermione seems
to have taken a liking to you so come on!”
“Are you jealous Potter?”
“No! Why would I be?”
“Just wondering, so you still love Ginny?”
“Yes, as a matter of fact I do!”
Hermione appeared, “Any day now!”
Draco got up and stood next to Hermione. Harry threw Hermione a dirty look
and walked out of the manor.
“What’s his problem?” Hermione asked Draco.
“He thinks you like me and he’s jealous of my good looks” Draco said.
Hermione rolled her eyes.
“Answer me this Hermione… is that want you wanted?”
”Maybe… yes! I’m tired of Harry jumping down my throat about Peter! And he
deserves this!”
Draco laughed, “He told me he still likes Ginny”.
“Liar!” Hermione yelled out loud as she and Draco walked out of the mansion
together.
