 Run, Emma, Run!

Chapter 4:
Harry knocked on Ron’s front door. After a few minutes Jennifer opened the
door and smiled at Harry.
“ Hey Harry!”
“ Hello Jen... or should I say Mrs. Weasley?”
Jen wrinkled her nose in a sarcastic way and said, “ I don’t think so”.
Harry laughed.
“ Come in Harry, Ron’s in the kitchen”.
“ Ron? In the kitchen?”
“ Yes. If he wants to marry me he has to know how to cook”.
Harry laughed. He had forgotten how much he had missed being with Jen and
everyone else.
“ So how are the wedding things going?” Harry asked as they headed
towards the kitchen.
“ There going fantastic! We are going to have the first wedding recital
tomorrow and…”
“ Jen shut up and let Harry actually get into a chair before you start ranting
about the wedding” came Ron’s voice.
Jen blushed. Ron appeared at the kitchen doorway.
“ I’m only kidding love. Harry how are you?”
“ Great and you?”
“ Good. I’ve just finished making dinner let’s go eat.”
“ Ron I don’t want to die before the wedding” Jen said, getting back at Ron.
“ Well if you don’t eat your wedding dress will fall off! You have lost a lot of
weight!” Ron replied.
“ Oh whatever. Come on Harry. If I have to eat his cooking so do you”
Jennifer said as she grabbed Harry hand and dragged him into the kitchen.
Harry, Ron, and Jennifer all enjoyed their dinner. Harry talked about how his
life in New York was and how happy he was to be back in London. After they
finished their meal…
“ So why isn’t Hermione coming to the wedding?” Harry asked.
Ron and Jennifer stayed quite.
“ Is it because I was coming?”
“ Oh Harry don’t be stupid!” Jennifer said.
“ Then?” Harry pressed on.
“ She has to work the day of our wedding and couldn’t afford to miss a day
of work since she has to pay her rent and stuff” Ron piped up.
“ Oh…” Harry said.
The three still talked for about two more hours until they all went to bed.
Harry went to the guest room and after a while Jen walked in with a blanket.
“ Here’s a blanket in case you get cold Harry”.
“ Jen can I ask you to do me a favor?”
“ Sure Harry”.
“ Tomorrow before the recital can you take me to see Hermione?”
Jen stayed quite.
“ Please Jen. I’m dying to see her.”
“ Harry I… sure… sure why not”.

Hermione lay in her bed. It was 12 o’clock in the morning.
“ Just one more hour until the recital” Hermione said to herself.
The phone rang.
“ Hello?”
“ Hermione?” It was Jennifer.
“ Yeah?”
“ Are you home?”
“ Yes why?”
“ I’m going over”.
“ No don’t.”
“ Why?”
“ I just got up and…”
” Oh okay then”.
“ See you later”.
Hermione hung up. She had heard two other voices talking in the background
from Jennifer’s side. One was Ron’s but the other…
“ He’s my partner… No! I said I wouldn’t see him again!” Hermione yelled.
She started to cry.
“ Peter where are you when I need you the most?” Hermione cried.

“ Harry we can’t go over. She’s busy.”
“ Did you tell her it was me who wanted to see her?”
“ No but you’ll see her later today don’t worry.”
“ I will?”
“ Yeah she’s….”
Jennifer stopped after Ron gave her a “ Shut up! You’ll ruin everything” look.
“ She’s going shopping with me later”.
“ Oh”.

It was one thirty and Hermione still hadn’t shown up or to Harry his ‘partner’
hadn’t shown up.
“ Jen where is Hermione?” Ron whispered.
“ She knows Ron. She knows Harry is her partner”.
“ You told her?”
“ No but when I talked to her over the phone Harry was talking for a while
and I think she recognized his voice”.
“ What are we going to do?”
Jennifer got up and announced that everyone could go. Harry came over.
“ What happened?”
“ We can’t practice with people missing”.
“ Jen no I’ll learn the steps and I’ll teach then to my partner later”.
Jen looked at Harry and said, “ All right”.
And so they had the recital.
